Abigail was born to Mary and Boreas on the 1st August 1993, after the two met at a party and had a one night fling, yet everyone thought she was Arvin Rivera's daughter. At the time of her birth, her parents were in the midst of a major argument, that lasted for most of her life. When she was 4, Abigail and her parents moved to Los Angeles. Mary and Arvin's intentions surrounding the move was simple to them: a new country for a new life, and a fresh start to their marriage, with no arguments.
As Abigail went to school, she was bullied for being different, and for being confident about herself. She never took notice of the bullies, and trooped through school. When she was 6, her parents had another baby boy, who they named Wayne. Abigail adored her younger brother, and forever drew pictures for him and always talked about him. On her 10th birthday, Abigail's father was arrested on suspicion of murder, in which he was found guilty and sentenced to three years in jail. Despite having a father and husband in jail, Abigail, Mary and Wayne kept good relations with Arvin, until the day he was released. The day he was released, Arvin filed for a divorce against Mary, and after a battle of two years, the divorce was granted, and Mary had custody over Abigail and Wayne.
However, their father wasn't happy with the settlements of his children, and wanted custody over them. During this period of time, Mary passed because of cancer, leaving Abigail and Wayne in the care of her sister, Anne, who had moved over with them. It was during this time that Abigail would volunteer at the zoo to help look after the animals; mainly the younger ones. The battle for their custody was lost on their father's side, and he moved back to the Philippines.
When Abigail was 14 and 16, she was attacked by fire breathing horses, and tried to use her "skills" as a way to save herself. These skills included running away, and acting like she could fight. Needless to say it didn't work, yet, there was always a satyr to help her. As she learned of her heritage from her mother's dying letter, she began to take up classes for self defence. Both satyrs that helped her offered to take her to Camp, but, finding them strange and being slightly hostile towards them, Abigail would flee and hide from them.
As she went through high school, she began to take care of the wilder animals at the zoo, and this caught Cybele's attention. When she was 19, Cybele's cabin was made, and she appeared to Abigail in a dream, and proposed that she became her Priestess, in which Abigail accepted, and was claimed as a daughter of Boreas when she came to Camp.
