Personality

Aella is generally a chill, relaxed girl. She can come off as slightly flirty but this is normally just her relaxed, joking personality. She has never been interested in makeup or school or clothes or shopping or movies. Her life had always revolved around surfing and the ocean. She is always trying to find a way to prove herself to the people around her which can sometimes be a downfall as some people saw it as showing off back with her family. Not having experienced much hardship until she was sixteen, Aella often feels conflicted about how to act now her whole perspective on life has changed. She has accepted the fact that she will be at camp for a while now but resents the fact she is a demigod. She doesn't resent other demigods, just the fact that she is one and it has caused her life to change completely. She is also one to lash out when hurt and is in a state of insecurity about her stepfather who sent her here with a restraining order, saying she is never to come near her family again due to the danger of her being a demigod.

History

Murphy Janson-Williams (Aella's mother), known as Murphy Janson at the time, was a bit of a wallflower in her youth. She was a natural beauty who grew up in Hawaii and travelled to America for a surfing competition when she was eighteen. After months of training and finally winning the competition, Murphy received the small amount of fame she wished for. She was celebrating one night with her close friends down at the beach when became overwhelmed with the party. Walking along the sand, she met Aella's father though she did not know so at the time. He began talking to her after hearing her name called out and the man told her how Murphy meant sea warrior and that it was a fitting name for such a beauty.

Murphy, having never received such attention, was drawn in to this mysterious man like all good girls are and the next morning; he was gone. After returning to Hawaii, she realized she was pregnant. It was the biggest mistake of Murphy's life but she had been a responsible person from a young age and decided to raise the child. On January the fourth, Aella Janson was born, fittingly named after Aella the Amazon warrior who had been killed by Herakles but the name also meant whirlwind; as Aella was truly a whirlwind in Murphy's life.

The first few years were easy, or as easy as they could be being a teen mother raising a wild daughter. That was the only way to describe Aella. Wild. Warrior. Absolutely insane sometimes, as her mother often recalled her crawling into the ocean before she could even walk or swim. 

A few years after Aella's birth, Murphy Janson became Murphy Janson-Williams when she married Tony Williams, a scuba-diver and amateur documentary maker situated in Honolulu. Over the years, they had a pair of twins called Georgio and Fabian along with three other children; Robbie, Carly and Oceana. With such a large household and being the eldest, Aella became quite an introvert.

Her outlet was the ocean. She had always found comfort within the breaking waves and sandy dunes. 

On her eleventh birthday, the strange occurences began They were having a small party on the beach of a friend's house in America (on vacation) with just the family. A local girl with a large trenchcoat (or what Aella thought was a local girl) walked onto the beach and approached Aella asking for directions. Then, saying she needed a phone. Aella trekked into the house, the girl following behind to grab the phone for her. Then, it happened. The girl threw Aella to the other side of the room, her appearance changing. The girl with the trenchoat suddenly became clearer to an ugly woman with wings. Suddenly, instinct overtook her body along with adreniline. She swung her body to the side and the monster hit the wall. Aella moved to the back of the kitchen, grabbing a large knife and holding it in front of her. The monster approached, angered but Aella threw the knife...Only it didn't make a different. 

Then, too many things happened at once. The monster flew forward and pinned Aella to the fridge whilst the door burst open and her stepfather, Tony, flew in with a...sword? He stabbed the monster through the back and it dissolved into dust.  And then, in typical Aella manner, she fainted.

When she awoke, her stepfather was sitting by her bedside. She had been attacked by the Greek monster, a harpy. He explained everything. Apparently, Tony Williams wasn't just Tony Williams, scuba diver. He was Tony Williams, son of Ares and ex-camper at Camp Half Blood. He explained about how Aella must be a demigod, that her father was a Greek God. He explained the weird occurences of monsters attempting to stalk and then attack her but thankfully, with her instinct warning her to tell him, he had managed to kill them before the problem arose. 

For the next few years, Tony warded off the monster attacks which came. He didn't send her to camp straight away because as a son of Ares, Tony was strong in the belief that he could protect her himself and there was no need to separate the family. So ,t he hellhound when she was thirteen which posed as a friendly rottweiler (or not so friendly, i guess), the giant scorpian when she was fifteen, the stymphalian birds when she was fourteen and the run in with the cyclops at sixteen. Then, it all became too much for her stepfather Tony when he lost his arm (though he told his family it was in a cave collapse whilst diving). He couldn't protect her anymore. He screamed at his stepdaughter, claiming Aella would kill them all. That she would be the reason his children would die if the monsters kept coming for her.

So he put her on a bus with directions to Camp Half Blood, the double-axe he had trained her with and wouldn't miss along with overnight clothes and some demigod currency. Then, he left her on her own at the bus station. Just like that.

Aella arrived and well, here she is

Pets

Aella has a female husky called Penthesilea, named after a fierce Amazon warrior. Penny is a hyper husky often seen accompanying Aella to the beach and on runs.

Weapon

Celestial Bronze double-axe called Hippolyta that she is trained in and is her preferred weapon.

Backstory behind weapon/name: Aella Janson was named Aella, after the Amazon warrior who was the first to attack Herakles for the Amazon queen Hippolyta. Aella was killed by Herakles but became famed for her loyalty and battle prowess with the double axe. This is why Aella became interested in the double axe and after finding it was her preferred weapon, she named the Celestial Bronze double axe gifted to her stepfather Hippolyta after the Amazon queen. Hippolyta is hidden in the form of a fingertip ring which when slipped off becomes the double axe itself.
