Dillion Tate was in his late 20's, a struggling artist in New York with a part-time job at a bar to pay the bills when his artwork wasn't selling. One late night at the bar he worked at, in came the most beautiful woman he had ever seen. She was tall, with golden blonde hair and green eyes. Hebe had been wandering around New York, looking for some flowers when she saw the bar and the bar tender inside and went in. She just about knocked him off his feet there. She ordered a drink and they started talking.
With each passing minute, Dillion fell more and more in love with the beautiful woman. He ended up asking her out and they ended up dating for around 3 months until Annette was conceived, and Hebe disappeared. When Dillion woke up the next morning, she was gone and he was left heart broken.
One day, he found a baby girl wrapped in a soft yellow blanket in a golden cradle at his doorstep. There was a small card attached to the cradle-,
Her name is Annette Mary Tate.
Annette was one of the best things that ever happened to him. He loved Annette so much, and was delighted to have a child. A day or so after Dillion found her he took her to the doctor. She was born deaf, a genetic trait from her father's side. (His Mother was deaf, and his Mother's Grandmother)
Despite that, her life was pretty normal. When she was having trouble with her hearing loss, her father sent her to Lexington School for the Deaf. She met a bunch of friends there, learning sign language and even playing on the school's volleyball team. When she was 9, her father remarried a woman named Lydia, who was a demigod, a child of Demeter. She had no idea that Annette was a demigod at first. After hearing how she was found on the doorstep, she had her suspensions ever since.
When Annette was 14, she and Lydia were in the living room of their apartment, playing a card game, when a hell hound suddenly burst in and jumped on top of Annette. Lydia almost at once touched her necklace that morphed into a sword. She managed to kill the hell hound. When it turned to dust, Annette was demanding to know what was going on. She was signing very messily and fast and you couldn't understand what she was saying. Lydia confirmed that Annette was a demigod when the hell hound jumped on her. She decided to get Annette to camp, and quickly.
Lydia signed back, explaining everything about the Greek gods and monsters, and that Annette was a demigod. At first, Annette didn't believe her, but it all added up, it all made sense, so Annette ended up trusting her. Lydia wrote Dillion a note (who was at an art show) and left with Annette. They took a cab to half blood hill and made it to Camp safely. Lydia said good-bye and promised to send her clothes later. Lydia also gave Annette the gold necklace, that when touched, morphed into a sword. At Camp, Annette was claimed as a daughter of Hebe, where she is today.
