Cel Thirlwall had recently had his heart broken when his girlfriend, Jane Doe, passed away. He decided to manage her flower shop by himself, in Marseille. Her flower shop was acclaimed to have the most beautiful roses. Persephone certainly agreed. She paid them a visit.
The constant presence and company of Persephone soothed Cel's broken heart. He finally mustered the courage to ask her on a date, and they, unfortunately, got hammered and did the you-know-whats.
When the child was born, Cel was thrilled and named her Brielle. However, after Persephone vanished, he became heartbroken once again. Brielle was raised by a heartbroken poor man who only yearned for his love again. Though he tried to care for her, he only got little money from the flower shop. However, since Brielle came, the flowers blossomed again somehow, and business sped up again.
Brielle had a hard time with her powers. The kids at school would call her "Freak" whenever she passed by a bud, and it blossomed. For instance, at 13, she was stroking a wilted rose when it popped to life again. The school's resident cheerleaders saw her and ambushed her-literally. They were empousa, and she would've died, had it not been for a rush of panic where she had summoned flower thorns from her palms, distracting the empousa as she fled.
This small power became her savior, along with many others. However, after this incident, Cel was shaken, and they moved to Sacramento, CA. Brielle taught herself how to use her strange powers, though she didn't why she had them. They were her savior when she encountered monsters, although she had no weapon. Until she was 15.
She was in the forest when she was attacked by a hellhound. She was exhausted from the day, and was defenseless. Luckily, she was hanging out with her school best friend, Lily, who was the school satyr. Lily rescued her and took her to Camp, where Brielle was claimed by Persephone.
