Forest/Jungle Arena

Forest Jungle Arena
  • This arena is essentially a tightly compacted jungle/forest, with tall cliffs along the edges of the arena
  • At various points in the forest/jungle there are some small waterfalls and ponds
  • The arena is open to the sky and elements, however due to the tightly compacted nature of the jungle/forest, there are areas where the sky cannot be seen, along with lots of shadows and places to hide
  • At the centre of the arena (jungle/forest), there is a medium sized temple, it is the darkest at this point and there are pyres, full of fire and wood, at the entrance to the temple. The fire that burns within the pyres can not be extinguished, but if the fire is removed from the pyres, it can then be put out.
  • Inside the temple are various Greek statues, roughly 6 feet tall
  • There are numerous and various species of wildlife hidden amongst the forest/jungle, but none larger than a grizzly bear

Nyxil -Child of Nyx
Black-Blood Nightingale
 Age: 21  Height: 6'1"  Weight: 125 lbs.
Main Weapon: Chakrams, Daggers, Electrified Sword, Steel Crossbow, Poisons
Every man casts a shadow; not his body only, but his imperfectly mangled spirit.

Nyxil kneels, head bowed and eyes closed, atop a stone spire jutting from the earth to rise far above the treeline near the west edge of the arena. The bright afternoon sun looms over the unceremoniously imposed battleground's high cliffs, casting his shadow from his perch to the canopy below. Wind pulls at his clothes constantly, threatening with unrelenting urgency to drag him from the heavens through nearly half a furlong of open air, but Nyxil does not waver. If Ares is gonna force him to kill people, he'd be doing it right. The mortal crossbow slung from his left shoulder, loaded with undiluted paralytic Amazonian curare, and the electrified English shortsword hanging sheathed from his right, are exposed under the deep grey cloak over his head and whipping in the torrential breeze. The cloak, torn to tatters at its bottom edge, looks to be meager protection; Nyxil's outfit is merely casual streetwear otherwise. A black and unmarked hoodie over a plain red tee fit him loosely, as do his blue jeans and running shoes. Loose pockets house over a dozen vials of miasmic liquids of varying effects, while sleeves and shoes shroud angular parrying knives and savagely sharpened daggers. Nyxil's most precious weapon, however, is hung in isolation from his belt: a sealed CD case containing double-edged chakra of polished, shimmering celestial bronze. A shame, Nyxil thinks, that the wind up here would blow them off course. Finishing a long prayer to Theia, then a curse to Ares, Nyxil takes a moment to clear his mind. Delicately, he lowers himself against the currents of air rushing around him. Taking a seat on the pillar, completely unfased by the dizzying heights which would engulf him should he lose his balance, Nyxil takes to thinking of a strategy.

Owned by: Onyx ~ Posted on: Again, as he did during his last battle in this arena, Alexander would kneel infront of the statue of several different gods, Thanatos, Ares, Nike, Etc. The constant fighting Ares forced upon them was starting to get on his nerves, and if it meant to end it quicker, Alexander simply chose not to wear armour. However, the cloak he always kept was worn, obscuring his form in the relative darkness of the forest. Worn around his neck is the puka shell necklace, that can transform into Alexander's fireknife in a moments notice. After what he considers to be enough time spent praying, Alexander wanders out into the jungle, keeping his guard up incase Nyxil were to attack.

Every man casts a shadow; not his body only, but his imperfectly mangled spirit.

A million possible scenarios flit through Nyxil's cluttered mind like a whirlwind, as if to challenge the perilous conditions the sky imposes on him, when -- There. A presence, on the fringes of his senses. Clasping to the thought,  Nyxil focuses on Alexander's location. He almost loses it in the mass of animals in the deep jungle as Alexander moves. An opportunity presenting itself to him so directly is best never ignored, tossing his nagging hesitation aside as useless a mental constraint. Slowly rising, knees bent against the air currents, he calms his mind. What he had in mind... could go terribly wrong if he wasn't focused. A slim parrying knife from one sleeve to a palm and the other clutching a long dagger end his preparation. Oh, I'm f*cking suicidal, aren't I? With that, he relaxes his legs and lets the galewinds pitch him from the heavens.
