Forest/Jungle Arena

Forest Jungle Arena
  • This arena is essentially a tightly compacted jungle/forest, with tall cliffs along the edges of the arena
  • At various points in the forest/jungle there are some small waterfalls and ponds
  • The arena is open to the sky and elements, however due to the tightly compacted nature of the jungle/forest, there are areas where the sky cannot be seen, along with lots of shadows and places to hide
  • At the centre of the arena (jungle/forest), there is a medium sized temple, it is the darkest at this point and there are pyres, full of fire and wood, at the entrance to the temple. The fire that burns within the pyres can not be extinguished, but if the fire is removed from the pyres, it can then be put out.
  • Inside the temple are various Greek statues, roughly 6 feet tall
  • There are numerous and various species of wildlife hidden amongst the forest/jungle, but none larger than a grizzly bear

Character's Powers

Powers of a Daughter of Boreas (3/6/9):

Offensive[]

  1. Children of Boreas can create an incredibly cold wind around an opponent, the wind will follow them no matter what for a short time. The wind would make the user feel as if it’s 15 degrees (fahrenheit), distracting them and making them vulnerable to attack.
  2. Children of Boreas have the ability to conjure up to ten long lances of ice which can surge forward and impale an opponent.

Defensive[]

  1. Children of Boreas have the ability to create a dome shaped torrent of wind, roughly two or three times the size of the user, which can be used to block attacks for a very short time.
  2. Children of Boreas can heal themselves by using ice, absorbing frozen energies which can freeze molecules, renew damaged cells, and also stop bleeding. This can be used to quickly heal minor wounds and slowly heal major, but not fatal, wounds. Ice healing only affects children of Boreas, Khione and Ice/Snow Nymphs as they are the only ones who can draw power from the snow.

Passive[]

  1. Children of Boreas are inherently resistant to the cold, including hypothermia and frostbite.
  2. Children of Boreas are inherently stronger during the winter or on any cold days.
  3. Children of Boreas always emit an aura of coldness, making others around them feel slightly cold. The user can shut it off for a long time if they choose to.
  4. Children of Boreas can turn water into ice or make it severely cold with a cool breeze.

Supplementary[]

  1. Children of Boreas have the ability to hover or fly, however, the longer they fly the more it drains them.
  2. Children of Boreas can apply the power of 3rd or 4th degree frostbite to an opponent’s weapon, freezing it to the point that it becomes fragile and easily breakable. It only lasts for a short time, after which the weapon reverts to it’s normal temperature.
  3. Children of Boreas can create armor and weaponry out of ice. The larger the size and quantity of the weapons, the more energy is drained. They can also infuse existing weapons with ice in order to make them stronger.
  4. Children of Boreas can call upon the icy winds in order to speed up their movements and attacks.

3 Months After a Character is Made[]

  1. Children of Boreas can create a hail storm, with up to baseball size hail for a short time. The storm will produce powerful, freezing winds. The hail will fire in whatever direction the user wishes, the user will be somewhat drained once the storm subsides.

6 Months After a Character is Made[]

  1. Children of Boreas can create an ice dragon lacking wings, a semi-living construct creature of ice that could be called an ice drake, no larger than 2 to 3 times the size of the user, to fight for them for a short time. This drake attacks with frost breath which can damage and freeze opponents. While the Drake is active, the user has a hard time moving and afterwards must rest between making another one.

9 Months After a Character is Made[]

  1. Children of Boreas can shed their flesh and transform their bodies into pure cold air which grants them temporarily immunity from attacks as well as drastically enhances their current ice powers. This ability only lasts for a short time and the user will be left heavily drained and unable to move for some time and could possibly faint after the ability dissipates.

Traits[]

  1. Children of Boreas are often ambidextrous, a trait they share with Notus' children.
  2. Children of Boreas have a natural preference for places in the Northern Hemisphere, the further North the better. They also prefer anywhere cold in general.
  3. Children of Boreas are naturally skilled at ice fishing.
  4. Children of Boreas make excellent navigators due to their ability to always find North.

Camille: Figuring even with the water, the arena won't be much of an advantage to her, she approaches the temple and stands walks inside. She marvels at it, lit pyres ringed the building, and one single pyre burned in the centre; Greek statues roughly six feet tall stood, lined up, 3 feet behind the pyre. She moves in front of the centre pyre and takes a defensive stance.

Elixabeth: She nods tersely at Camille as she sees her enter the arena. Feeling a slight twinge of regret about going toe to toe with her kin but determined to advance, she gets a hold of herself and readies her bow. Making the decision for the moment not to overdepend on the water sources she draws an arrow and places it tenderly on the bowstring. Drawing it back gently but firmly, she takes aim at her opponent and releases the shaft and watches in grim satisfaction as it soars unfailing toward her target.

CamilleThe sound sight of the arrow heading straight for her immediately triggers her in a defensive manner. She creates a small tornado in front of her, that catches the arrow in its whirlpool, thwarting its purpose. She lets the tornado dissipate, then decides to act defensively. Elixabeth is not her family. Knowing Elixabeth'll be able to deflect projectile attacks as well as she does, puts her tomahawks away, and unsheathes her sword, then she charges at Elixabeth, aiming an oblique slash at her torso.

Elixabeth: Elixabeth quickly drops her bow and activates her harpoon. Shifting into a defensive stance, she pivots on her back foot and on swings her harpoon downward at a 45 degree angle and pushes forward with her hand to knock the attack away. She is mostly succesful but the attack nevertheless manages to leave a slight cut on her left side. Elixabeth quickly deactivates her harpoon back into mist form and places the brooch in her pocket.  Grabbing two ice shards from her waist, she shapes the shard in her left hand into a small crook.  Gripping the ice crook with her left hand, she swings it down at Camille's right arm, trying to use the hook to yank it to the side. As she attempts this, she stabs the ice shard in her right hand at Camille's left shoulder, attempting to pierce it.

CamilleAs Elixabeth had executed a long thread of maneuvers, Camille sheathes her sword, jumps back, using the wind to her advantage, so she hovers 3 feet above Elixabeth. She moves to Elixabeth's right, and hovers to the ground, to be able to execute a move, that involved the pyre, which was as high as Elixabeth's hip, where her belt of ice shards lay. She steps back, and imposes a forceful gust of wind at the pyre, blowing the flames at Elixabeth's torso area, where her belt lay, hoping to high the temperature of them, so that they melt. After, she hovers 3 feet above Elixabeth and throws a tomahawk down at her, aiming for her shoulder, then she pushes a gust of wind behind it, forcing it to plummet down with more force and speed.

Elixabeth: Elixabeth quickly undid her belt and leapt backwards, forced to allow her belt and shards to be consumed by the flames. As she lands on her feet she sees the tomahawk speeding towards her and with both hands desparately conjures at counter gust of wind of her own, attempting to send the weapon back toward its owner or at least in a direction where it will not harm Elixabeth. Though aware that Camille is at an advantage due to having gravity on her side, Elixabeth nevertheless maintains her counter gust and inwardly prays that Boreas will grant her favor and allow her power to prevail over that of Camille.

CamilleShe creates a torrent a wind around her, considering she had sent the tomahawk with the force of gravity, her own throw, and the wind backing it, the counter was fairly weak, so as soon as the tomahawk makes contact with the winds, it falls to the grown, skidding to the south side of the temple, where the statues lay. She's slightly surprised that Elixabeth hadn't moved, she hovers down by the pyre again, and uses her defensive power imaginatively, manifesting a tornado over the pyre, creating a spiral of flames. She hovers back, several feet, then forces another wind at the tornado, pushing it towards Elixabeth.

Elixabeth: Elixabeth is singed slightly by the flaming whirlwind but quickly turns tail and leaps off the edge outside the temple toward a deep looking pond below. She uses her hovering powers to slow the descent but nevertheless lands with a sizeable splash into what luckily turns out to be a very deep pond. She takes a moment to let the cold water soak over and recuperate her,  then treads water over to the edge of the water where it is much more shallow and allows for standing. She freezes the water near the shore of the pond upward into 8 stalagmites that cover the area of the pond entrance.

CamilleThe small tornado crashes into the side of the doorway/exit, dissipating on contact. She quickly follows Elixabeth to the pond, hearing the splash from her leap in. By the time she's at the pond, the stalagmites are already protruding from the ground, and Elixabeth's standing at the shallow edge of the pond. She's invigorated by the feeling of the frigid air emanating from the stalagmites and frozen water. She then skirts the pond, and ends up on Elixabeth's side, after, she imposes a frigid gust of wind, carrying shards of ice; she hopes to slow Elixabeth down by having her wet clothes freeze over with frost. She charges at Elixabeth, and aims a slash at her torso.

Elixabeth: She quickly swipes a large splash of water into the air and freezes it to stop the lethal looking slash. She    quickly bends her knees and with great effort makes a small jump out of the pond, using her flying ability to carry her safely out of the pond, though her face is cut slightly by the small shards of ice that had been flying around her. Angry and determined, she turns toward the pond and sends a large gust of wind toward Camille, attempting to send her flying into the pond. Not hesitating to see if the gust worked, she immediately activates her harpoon and sweeps it at the water near where she hopes her gust of wind will send Camille. As the Water splashes over the area, she begins to freeze it hoping to trap Camille in place in the pond. Knowing she needs to take a moment to rest, she takes a deep breath and then flies upward into a nearby tree, landing on a branch thick enough to sit on, though somewhat precariously.

Camille: Being thankful by Elixabeth's attack, as it invigorates her moderately, the frigid temperature causing a surge of energy swell within her. She gets to the edge of the thin, ice encasing, and kicks the edge of the encasing forcefully; slivers of ice rain down on her, cutting at her face, though she gets a torrent of wind up in time to prevent further damage. She then moves over to the tree Elixabeth's hiding in, feeling her cold temperature radiate, she focuses an ice storm on Elixabeth's tree, then hacks at the branch steps back a few feet, watching Elixabeth.

Elixabeth:  Elixabeth feels the branch starting to give way so she quickly jabs her harpoon into the tree itself and hangs onto the shaft. The ice storm shakes the tree slightly but does not cause it to falter. She puts all her weight into pulling the shaft downward and then suddenly flies into the air using the spring of the released shaft like a catapault. As gravity begins taking effect and she descends, she quickly spots another large branch and slowly descends onto it. All of the sudden, she spots a bear nearby, and begins formulating a plan. She sloshes the saliva around in her mouth for a couple of minutes and then spits heavily into her hand. She freezes the saliva into 5 small ice shards of ice and then casts them at the bear. The shards lightly pierce the creatures skin, causing just enough pain to cause it to angrily charge toward the tree.

Camille: She turns and runs from at the sight of the bear, fearing anything at even resembles a hellhound since her last match. She fires her tomahawk at it, then turns and runs at a fast pace

ElixabethElixabeth curls her lip in triumph as she watches the bear pursue her opponent. She slowly climbs down the tree, stopping for a moment to retrieve her harpoon. Upon reaching the ground, she raises her harpoon and throws it with all her strength and aided by a quick gust of wind toward Camille's back, hoping to pierce her sternum.   She then flies upward to the grounds outside the temple and retrieves her bow. She quickly deactivates her harpoon and places the brooch in her pocket. Drawing an arrow and stringing the bow taut, she stands at the entrance of of the temple facing the outside waiting to see if Camille will emerge from her latest ordeal.
