Fire Arena

Fire arena
  • At first glance the arena seems to be hills of lush vegetation surrounded by some sort of fog, however on closer inspection, it is really islands of vegetation and hills suspended over lava rivers and fire beneath, so watch your step, the fog isn't fog at all but steam from where there are streams flowing off the sides of the islands and down onto the lava below.
  • On the top level of the arena it is open to the air above, and has lush green vegetation and hills, lots of shadows, lots of places to hide. Some of the islands are only a few feet across, more like stepping stones, while some are quite large, the central one being the largest with a Greek style building at the top.
  • Within the Greek style building there are a few 6 foot tall Greek statues
  • Beneath the "islands" the lava an fire below are broken apart by rocky areas that are free of lava and fire
  • There are some stone steps leading down towards the lava/fire beneath at various points
  • The arena is open to the sky and elements

Owned by: Onyx ~ Posted on: He sits at the edge of a lush, green, floating island. A few yards to his left is the largest of the islands, the rise of the greek building casting a shadow over the island on which he sits. He wears the black cloak his father gifted him. Under that he wears his black celestial bronze armour, the helm laying on its side next to him. His skin is glistening from his sweat caused by the humidity in the air. After staring into the horizon for long enough, Alxander stands, placing the black, skull-like helmet on his head.

  • Halston: He walks arcoss a steamy area and watches the lava flows below him. He then looks up and sees the large island with the Greek building. He floats towards it, creating a ball of light to cover his backside. He also creates a longsword out of light, and lands very softly on the land.

Owned by: Onyx ~ Posted on: he figures the Greek building will probably have statues of the gods, and Alexander thinks the temporary peace at hand is a good time to pray for luck and victory. As he jumps off a tiny, stepping stone-like island, he takes notice of Halston, and immediately enters battlemode. He approaches slowly, taking position just behind Halston, hidden by a pillar and its shadow.

  • Halston: He pauses, feeling as something isn't right. He shrugs off the feeling and  walks into the building, walking pass a statue of Apollo. He frowns at it, and spits at it's feet. You may be the god of the sun, but my father is god of light itself. He sits down, blade in hand. He waits for someone ese to find him.

The Fight

  • Alexander: He notices Halston sit, and figures a sitting opponent would be easier to deal with than a standing one. He changes his mind when he realizes Halston still holds a grip on his longsword. Alexander shakes his head, and finally decides to move in. Shadow traveling into the stub of a shadow cast by Halston as he sits, Alexander spins and aims a hard round house kick right at Halston's ear before before quickly jumping away, hoping to make it out of the reach of his sword before he swings it.
  • Halston: He watches as the air around him releases a spinning drop-kicking Alexander. Halston forms a cloak of pure light to blunt the kick, but is still propelled by the kick and is sent a ways down back towards the entrance. He wipes a bit of gravel from his face as he gets up, and looks over at Alexander. So, you are a child of Thanatos. This will be my second fight with your breed, and I'm happy to learn more about your weaknesses. He smirks and lunges at Alexander, his longsword turning into a war axe as he swings with it horizontally.
  • Alexander: He ducks under the blade, and throws a barrage of punches at Halston's gut and face, hoping to incapacitate him while rips his necklace from its position around his throat, it's form changing into that of his fireknife. He swings it like you would a baseball bat, aimed at his throat, blade first.
  • Halston: His arm pulling his body with the force of the swing, Halston spins out of the way of the punches to the face, while his quickly formed cloak of light blunts the shots to his gut. His axe turns into a rapier, and he quickly strikes at Alexander's neck. His cloak on his arm blocks the incoming fire-knife, but the rapier is coming at a slower pace that what it would normally go at.
  • Alexander: He lets the momentum of the fireknife to bring itself into a whirlwind, the motion of the fireknife parrying the rapier, hopefully with enough force to disarm Halston. After this motion, Alexander backs away, pulling the shadows around him to conceal himself from view as he sneaks back out onto the island he started out on. As he leaves the building, he dispels the shadows that hide him, letting Halston know he's leaving the constricted fighting space of the closed building. He finds himself back on the green island, the changing position of the sun causing the Greek building to cast less of a shadow over it. Alexander uses this to his advantage, conjuring 2 scythes like he did in his last battle, and setting them about 8 feet between each other. He sets them up so they're easily visible after leaving the building, and takes position a few feet behind them.
  • Halston: Halston watches as his blade is knocked out of his hands, turning into merely light. He also sees Alexander disappear. He walks outside, and sees the 2 scythes and Alexander behind them. Halston looks confused, then understands what is happeneing, and quickly forms a ball of light. Your greatest strength requires shadows, right? However, the brighter lights can null all shadows. The ball of light then hovers over the scythes, and glows brightly, nulling any shadows created by the scythes. Halston walks over to the scythes and draws his light-longsword. Now, let's have an even fight.
  • Alexander: He shakes his head smirking, No thank you. Even doesn't win fights. As he says it, he turns and bounds off onto an adjacent island, one with think vegetation that Halston would have to waste too much energy on to brighten up. He climbs into a jungle tree, taking point on the top branch hidden from the ground, but having a birds-eye view of it.
  • Halston: He sighs as he follows Alexander into the deeper foiliage. He then flies around, landing on branches to prevent tiring out from flying too much. He sees Alexander from behind, makes a light-bow, and fires a light-arrow at Alex's back.
  • Alexander: He hears the crunching of foliage and the release of a bowstring, and sidesteps to his left just in time to avoid direct impact with the arrow. Sadly, the arrow cut a deep gash in his chest armour and cloak, but not drawing blood. He turns to see Halston on a branch, and shimmies his way down the tree. After he reaches the forest floor, Alexander sprints off, taking a stairway down to the more treacherous half of the arena. He sets up on the flattest piece of rock he can find. It still has some uneven slopes, and a tiny trail of lava off to one side. Not knowing where Halston could be coming from, Alexander stands in the middle of the island, not wanting to get knocked off into a fiery death.
  • Halston: He cursed at himself for letting himself be heard, then followed Alexander down to the lava area. He fired another shot at Alexander, but more silently this time, and after Halston fired, he lept further down into the lava area.
  • Alexander: While he couldn't hear the arrow fire, he noticed his shadow elongating, a clear sign that a light is approaching extremely fast from behind. He dives to his left, but the arrow found itself creating a shallow but bloody gash on his ankle. He tries to put weight on the wound, and finds that it isn't nearly as bad as it looks, and he can walk around freely. He tears a bit of cloth from his shirt, and wraps it around the gash, stopping the bleeding. If it doesn't work, he figures he can always cauterize it with all the lava near him. He turns to face Halston, and stabs his fireknife into the ground, freeing up his hands. He summons 3 small scythes and throws them at Halston in a horizontal pattern, making it difficult for Halston to dodge completely.
  • Halston: He conjures the cloak and blunts the scythes, and swats one away with the sword in his hand replacing his bow. He then loses the cloak and lunges again at Alexander, although the cloaks and flying have worn down his stamina little by little. His face is worn, and he appears to be getting on his last legs.
  • Alexander: He smirks, knowing he has more energy left than Halston, since he hasn't used his powers as much. Being weaponless when Halston lunges at him he rolls backwards, and summons a large, halberd-like scythe, with a sharp point on both the top of the blade and the butt. Before he swings, he summons about 10 ghosts to appear, ordering them to swarm Halston, attempting to obscure his vision. when he swings, he swings laterally, hoping to impale the scythe as far into Halston's abdomen as possible.
  • Halston: He sees the ghosts but his eyes focus on the large scythe that Alexander just made. He trealizes this might be his last fight ever. Halston narrows his eyes as he dashes through the ghosts, cutting them with swings, and throws his sword like a boomerang at the scythe. Mid-flight, it turns into a boomerang and soars through the air, aiming to cut the astral scythe in half.
  • Alexander: He dispels the scythe before the boomerang connects. Since they're both momentarily unarmed, Alexander charges Halston, attempting to tackle him to the ground while on his way for his fireknife. After reaching his fireknife, he charges again, summoning a new wave of ghosts to hide him from view as he tries to lop off Halston's left arm with his fireknife.
  • Halston: He smirks as he dodges the first tackle, but frowns as he realizes that he's weapon;less and there are ghost coming at him. He turns and starts to run, but is slow and barely makes it ahead of the ghosts. He stops at an edge of a cliff, where lava boils below him. He turns to see the ghosts, and holds his arm out over the lava, hoping what they saw about boomerangs are true.
  • Alexander: He realizes the boomerang is still in the air, and dives out of the way before it connects. He frowns as the glowing boomerang returns to Halston's grasp. This frown becomes a grin, however, when he notices Halston is on the edge of the island, perilously close to the to the lava. He figures if he summons a scythe long enough, he can easily force Halston into the molten rocks. So he conjures a 6 foot scythe, and whirlwinds it at Halston, attempting to knock him in.
  • Halston: He frowns again as he sees Alexander come at him with a whirlwind of scythe swinging. He turns the boomerang in his hand into a bow. He fires a shot right at Alexander's chest, figuring if it hit, it would stop the spinning Alexander from coming closer. Halston takes a step back, teetering on the edge of the cliff.
  • Alexander: The arrow connects with Alexander's left shoulder, penetrating his armour and putting a deep hole in it. This stops Alexander's approach, but he releases the scythe, throwing it at Halston with a higher speed than he could've achieved by just swinging with it regularly. He falls to the ground, exhausted from the heat and power usage, and clutches at the wound in his shoulder.
  • Halston: He puts up a cloak to blunt the oncomming scythe, and it hurts less that it should of. However, Halston is propelled off the cliff. However, Halston uses the last bit off his energy to fly to another island in the lava sea, and collaspes on the floor, breathing heavily and gasping for air.
