Drew Riley PNG

Drew is a son of Pandia who has only recently arrived to Camp. He is currently undertaking the mission to find the person he was betrothed to after hearing that she too resides at Camp. He is 21 physically, straight and currently single, however he is still technically engaged to Poppy Paradis.
Drew's personality matches almost exactly to that of Prince Charming - romantic, caring, compassionate etc. However, he is also extremely protective and is reluctant to let things go. Due to the events of his life he also has minor temper issues and is also innocent in some ways.

In the late 17th century a King of a Korean dynasty was dying and losing his grasp on his kingdom. It'd been years since he had produced a healthy heir and now the people of his rule were desperate for a new ruler, male or female, and as such women began to offer themselves to him in order to produce the next ruler. His advisers had given him a week to find someone to produce a child with or he would be disposed of. A woman, who only appeared when the moon was out, tempted him outside where she proposed the idea of producing a child. Seeing how she fit the criteria his advisers had set, tall and beautiful, they agreed and soon, a child had been conceived.

Nine months later, on what would've been January 24th, the woman appeared to the deathbed of the King and presented a baby boy. The King ordered, on his last breath, for the child to be taken away and raised by the maids. The woman then disappeared without a trace. Not five hours into the child's life did his father die, leaving him an orphan.

His early life was easy; take classes, have tours of his land and learn to rule the kingdom. The people were ruled by his main adviser on his behalf and soon the young Prince granted him the title of Acting-King until he had come of age. He was quickly taught how to use a sword due to his basic training needs and by the time he was 10, he could hold his own against mediocre swordsmen. Throughout this he kept hearing the dynasty name of Joseon and especially a girl by the name of Kang Hui-Bin, the daughter of a wealthy man. It was announced on his 12th birthday that he, Ri Yong-Jo had been betrothed to Kang Hui-Bin, a member of the Hui-Bin dynasty.

When he was 13 he had his first attack where he was confronted by a hellhound who had threatened the lively hood of his people who lived on the outskirts of the kingdom. Thanks to his training he managed to slay the monster with little issues, only getting scratched a few times when it had managed to claw him. When reporting to his advisers it was agreed that he would be accompanied by two guards 24/7. As such, his next few attacks were a breeze for him as the guards, both of which could see through the mist, killed all monsters. All swords in the Kingdom had been made with celestial bronze, curtsy of the lady the king had mated with. On his 18th birthday it was announced that his coronation would happen as soon as he was married to Hui-Bin. Frantic, the kingdom prepared for her arrival.

News that the upcoming King's betrothed had fled spread across the kingdom like wildfire, every person condemning her actions and a search party had been organised which would be led by Yong-Jo. In the space of a week from the news reaching the kingdom, the unit made up of eight men had set off. The unit underestimated the mission and many had under-packed, suffering severely of malnutrition in the first month, causing their number to dwindle to six by the end of the second month. Aphrodite looked on above and felt sorry for her daughter, who had obviously felt pressured into doing something and as such, she planned to make it so Yong-Jo could never find her. As the unit reached their fourth month of searching she begged Hephaestus to kill the remaining men whilst she enticed the heir away from them. Reluctant but wanting his wife happy, Hephaestus agreed, sending in mechanical birds on the troops whilst Aphrodite seduced the heir away. Unknowingly, Hui-Bin had been near and had heard the screams of the five troops. Hearing the screams, Yong-Jo raced back to find his five remaining soldiers dead, with their horses ripped to shreds. From there, he vowed to to find the girl for certain and force her back to the Kingdom in order to repay for the deaths of so many.

For the next four years he fought away bandits and monsters (thinking they were attacks by enemies) as he travelled north into China and eventually Russia, still searching for Hui-Bin. Although he had only packed enough food for a month, it'd seem that each night he'd go for something that was close to being finished, it would be replenished instantly. Never questioning it, Yong-Jo thanked whoever did it. For a while after Aphrodite's scheme, Pandia had been thinking of ways to preserve her son and keep him away from finding his betrothed and soon she acquired the help of Hypnos who had promised her one thing in exchange for something else. Pandia had offered the deal to put her son into a slumber that would be sealed away in Hypnos' realms for two hundred years before turning into Hypnos' servant for the remainder of the years he had to serve. Both gods agreed on the deal and waited for the right time to initiate it. After exactly four years of searching for the girl he had now dubbed 'The Lost Princess', Yong-Jo had decided that he would never find her, and instead of returning to the kingdom in vain, he attempted to take his life. Capitalising on the opportunity, Hypnos put Yong-Jo into the slumber and essentially turned his entire being into a single thought bubble that was put into his head.

For the next couple of hundred of years, until 1990, Yong-Jo remained as a thought bubble until Hypnos decided he needed him and essentially made the Prince be reborn. The Prince, confused of his new surroundings, was quickly informed by Hypnos of his new role and that he should adopt a more appropriate name. Thinking it was happening too fast, Yong-Jo said something that sounded along the lines of 'Drew Riley' which in actuality was something his native language. Hypnos, taking it as the name he wanted, gave the name to him. To make things easier, Hypnos had asked Mnemosyne to bless Drew with the knowledge of the English language and after one month of some basic classes conducted by Hypnos about what he'd be doing, Yong-Jo or now Drew Riley, was his servant.

For the next 24 years Drew remained as Hypnos' servant until news got round that a cabin for children of Pandia had been constructed in Camp Half-Blood in which Pandia had told Hypnos to send Drew to when he was done. It was also noted by Hypnos that the girl, Hui-Bin who was now Poppy Paradis, had also arrived at Camp. Wanting Drew to have some kind of peace in his life, Hypnos sent him down prematurely, relieving him of his immortality and servant-ship.

  1. Children of Pandia have the ability to form weapons out of pure moonlight which can be used for combat; however, only one weapon can be conjured at a time and it cannot be bigger than the one who conjured it. Non-combative objects can also be made out of this, but cannot generate any electricity as moonlight does not have any working parts.
  2. Children of Pandia have the ability to focus an intense beam of moonlight which will burn anything it touches.

  1. Children of Pandia have the ability to create a protective dome of pure solid moonlight which will defend them from attacks for a short time.
  2. Children of Pandia have the ability to bend the moonlight around them, concealing them for a short time. If the child attacks while in this state, it automatically wears off. So the power is purely defensive.

  1. Children of Pandia can see perfectly at night as if it were day.
  2. Children of Pandia are innately stronger at night.

  1. Children of Pandia have the ability to generate moonlight to shine so bright that it can blind the beholders for a short period of time or just light up areas for allies, depending on how bright it is. They can create sources of moonlight from a distance and command them to maintain it’s form for a moderate time, but the light cannot be bright enough to harm anyone’s eyes to exist that long.
  2. Children of Pandia have the ability to use the gravity pull of the moon to slow down enemies giving them a high chance to avoid an opponent’s attack or prevent an opponent from avoiding one of the user’s attacks.
  3. Children of Pandia are able to telekinetically move water at a high rate, since the moon has power over the tides. The larger amount of water used, the more energy it drains.
  4. Children of Pandia have the ability to Moonlight Travel, to merge with natural moonlight or moonlight they created themselves and teleport to another source of moonlight. The further the distance traveled, the more energy is drained.
  5. As their mother was the goddess of the nourishing dew, children of Pandia have the ability to force the temperature within a 15 meter radius of them to reach dew point, condensing all the atmospheric water vapour into water droplets and drenching those in the vicinity. The user is immune to the attack, but their allies are endangered.

3 Months After a Character is Made

  1. Children of Pandia receive an enhancement in their powers over gravity. They can enchant themselves, others and nearby objects to become detached from gravity for a short time. People who aren’t willingly freed from gravity can only float a few feet into the air, while the user and their allies can completely fly at their own will. Items under the enchantment can also be crushed by intensifying gravity’s hold on them. They cannot use this to perform overwhelming feats such as crushing buildings.

6 Months After a Character is Made

  1. Children of Pandia can turn their moonlight into tools, objects, weapons and other items, create semi-living constructs and/or create structures/buildings of varying permanence; however, only up to 4 combative/non-combative items or 1 semi-living construct can be conjured at a time and it cannot be larger than roughly 3 times the size of the one that conjured it. Tools may be telekinetically moved by the user’s mind. The longer they maintain combative/non combative items and semi-living constructs, the more it drains their energy, so they are more limited for the time they can keep these things cohesive.

9 Months After a Character is Made

  1. Children of Pandia have the ability to shed their flesh into pure moonlight, granting them the ability to fly and everything they touch intensely burns. Their existing lunakinetic abilities are stronger in this state. The longer they maintain this form, the more energy it drains. When they revert back to their original form, they are drained greatly and cannot even move or could even faint from exhaustion.

  1. Children of Pandia are typically more active during night time especially when the moon is full. Also being in better moods at night and disliking the day.
  2. Children of Pandia often grow up to make great astrologists and enjoy studying constellations.
  3. Children of Pandia have been known to take interest in ayurvedic practices due to its association with astrology.
  4. Children of Pandia nearly always have innate knowledge on the phases of the moon. Ex: They'd be able to tell if the following night will have a full moon and when a new moon will begin.
