History Before Camp
India Carr was tired of the gloomy skies of her Welsh home. She was thirsty for adventure, thrills, and maybe even meet a special someone. After college, she decided to travel. India was a hobbyist photographer, and she was very passionate about her love for photography. She traveled all around the world with her camera to take pictures of everything. While traveling in Paris, she met Aeolus in Champs-Élysées. He was in the city of love searching for new partners. The handsome young man captivated India from the start. Little did she know the god was also eyeing her, admiring her beauty from afar as well her charming passion for her photography. Aeolus approached her with a rose and a request to walk with her down the avenue. They hit it off instantly. After a few dates they decided to do the do. The next morning, Aeolus revealed his true self. He confessed that he was really a Greek god.
India knew of demigods. One of her closest friends had told her that her mother was a Greek goddess, and India believed her. She couldn't believe that she actually hooked up with a Greek deity. India continued her endeavors through the world, traveling all over Europe. India found out she was pregnant with a child along the way, and Aeolus had never mentioned how to raise a child that was half god. Soon enough, she would figure it out. India soon realized that the unborn infant was now her only physical remains of Aeolus and chose to go back to Wales to give birth.
Emmaline Angel Carr was born on January 29, 1997 in Newport, Wales. She was born into a wealthy and noble family. India was the heiress of the family fortune, and money was not a concern for the Carrs. India lived in a luxurious estate outside of the city, maids and butlers at hand as well. Emmaline was loved by her grandparent immensely. They saw the future of the Carr family in her--their daughter's successor. India settled down and took a break when Emmaline was an infant. When Emmaline's fourth birthday came, India began running the family business. The Carrs were famous for running a luxury sweets franchise. India was constantly busy, and by the time Emmaline was seven she rarely saw her mother anymore. She was raised by her maids and butlers. Emmaline wasn't complaining. She had everything a girl could desire: wealth, attention, sweets, and good looks. It all turned upside down one Christmas.
Emmaline was twelve, nearly thirteen. While outside in the estate's garden building a snowman, a harpy swooped in and attacked her. Lucky for Emmaline, one of her mother's maids was a daughter of Melinoe. The maid, Catherine, was the "closest friend" that had told India of godly parent. Catherine had known India since they were in college, and they had grown so close that Catherine had revealed to India in the past that she was a demigod. The main reason India had believed her was that Catherine proved that through her powers. India told Catherine shortly after Emmaline was born that her daughter was a demigod as well. Catherine was starting to prepare for Emmaline's first monster attack, as she knew it would happen during this time. Catherine had readied her old CB sword for when the time came. When the harpy attacked, Catherine was able to rush to Emmaline's aid and kill the harpy successfully before Emmaline was seriously hurt. India went back to the Carr Estate from her current business affairs immediately when she heard the news. Catherine told India of a camp for demigods in New York. In the meanwhile, India could never forgive herself if Emmaline was hurt. To make sure of that, Emmaline was kept indoors (with the exception of school) and under a constant surveillance after the attack. That didn't stop a hellhound from picking up her scent when she was walking home from school that fall. Luckily she was already near the house and Catherine was just outside gardening when she saw. Catherine was able to kill the hellhound with her trusty CB sword before Emmaline was seriously hurt.
It took longer than expected for Catherine to remember the location of Camp Half-Blood. Eros hadn't left an address for India either. Luckily, Emmaline met a satyr at school that coming fall. The satyr, Wendy, explained that she of course knew the location of the camp. Emmaline was able to take Wendy to the estate, where Wendy corresponded with Catherine to explain where the camp was. That summer, India sent Emmaline to camp. Emmaline arrived at camp at age fourteen. She was trained and learned how to defend herself from any further attacks.
That fall, Emmaline returned to Wales and continued her schooling. India was much more loosened and less protective over Emmaline when she saw that Emmaline was completely capable of taking down a monster by herself. Every summer, Emmaline went to camp for more training and to see her friends in America. She was fortunate that only minor monsters attacked her, and they didn't attack very often. In a span of two years, she was attacked only by a hellhound, a giant scorpion, and a fire-breathing horse.
When Emmaline turned sixteen, her life turned upside down once again. It happened the fall when she got back from camp that year. Catherine, India, and Emmaline were the only inhabitants of the mansion, as India had told the rest of the servants to take a break for a bit. They were outside in the garden that night, setting up a new lantern path to illuminate the garden. A lycanthrope had picked up her scent from the woods not too far from the estate. India was quick to react to shield Emmaline with her body. The lycanthrope tore India off Emmaline and threw her across the garden. When India landed, she had broken her neck and was killed instantly. Catherine rushed Emmaline into the house, but the lycanthrope found its way into the mansion. Catherine had known that anything besides silver wasn't going to kill it, but Catherine was unable to find silver weapons in the house in time and died. Emmaline ran for cover in the basement, which was useless. Desperate, Emmaline grabbed one of the swords off of the wall. The swords were there for display, along with the family shield with the crest showing proudly upon both. Unknown to Catherine, India, and Emmaline, the Carrs' had demigods in the family for quite a long time. The swords were forged of Celestial Silver, which proved quite effective when Emmaline plunged one of them into the lycanthrope.
The next morning, Emmaline had no choice but to go to Camp. She didn't want to be under the wings of any guardians besides her mother. Luckily, India's wallet was safe and untouched in the upstairs bedroom. There was enough cash (no surprise there) to afford a plane ticket to New York and for some food. Emmaline packed up and boarded the plane to NY. When she arrived at the hill, she was attacked by stymphalian birds. She was able to defeat them using her bow and arrows and her powers. With that, she made it to camp safely.
Children of Aeolus have the ability to create a small tornado, about the size of the user, which can be sent across short distances to knock opponents off their feet or used to send small debris flying at opponents.
Children of Aeolus are able to use air itself to slice objects, focusing a current of wind to the point where it takes on a sharp edge, which the caster launches at foes. Although this attack does usually slashing damage, some users are able to focus it into single piercing stab like a bullet.
Children of Aeolus have the ability to create a dome shaped torrent of wind, roughly two or three times the size of the user, which can be used to block attacks for a very short time.
Children of Aeolus have the ability to create powerful gusts of wind, however, the stronger the gust, the more it drains them. The gusts can be used to block incoming attacks.
Children of Aeolus feel stronger when they are touched by strong winds they did not create.
Children of Aeolus are innately able to lower air resistance and move faster on the ground, granting them an enhanced level of speed.
Children of Aeolus can contain more air in their lungs than the average human, allowing them to survive longer when they cannot gather oxygen.
Children of Aeolus have the ability to hover or fly, however, the longer they fly the more it drains them. Due to their rare ability to lower air resistance, users are able to fly faster than anyone else with the ability to fly.
Children of Aeolus have the ability to call upon the winds to speed their movements or attacks; conversely this can also be used to slow the movements or attacks of others.
Children of Aeolus can use the wind to either surround themselves to block enemies and projectiles or to surround an enemy trapping them within the winds. The longer they maintain the wind, the more it drains.
Children of Aeolus can curse an opponent by draining some of the air from an opponent’s lungs and make it somewhat hard for them to breathe for a short time. This leaves them vulnerable to attack or giving the user a chance to flee.
3 Months After Character is Made
Children of Aeolus can create a massive tornado, about five times the size of the user, which can be used to violently assault others with strong winds and debris.
6 Months After Character is Made
Children of Aeolus can turn the air into tools, objects, weapons and other items, create semi-living constructs and/or create structures/buildings of varying permanence; however, only up to 3 combative/non-combative items or 1 semi-living construct can be conjured at a time and it cannot be larger than roughly 3 times the size of the one that conjured it. The longer they maintain combative/non combative items and semi-living constructs, the more it drains their energy, so they are more limited for the time they can keep these things cohesive.
9 Months After Character is Made
Children of Aeolus can shed their flesh and turn into pure wind, while in this state they are immune to attacks, can fly even faster than before and receive enhancements in their existing aerokinetic abilities. Once the transformation subsides, they are extremely exhausted. Barely able to move and could possibly faint.
Children of Aeolus are known to grow up to be amazing meteorologists, as they know all the current weather going on in a certain area.
Children of Aeolus typically enjoy flying and high places, enabling them to become astounding pilots and hot air ballooners.
Children of Aeolus are often claustrophobic when in tight places or underground.
Since their father presides the four directional wind gods, children of Aeolus have what could be described as a mental compass. Able to tell where the four main directions are most of the time.
