Kali was born to John Limberg and Eris on October 23, 1998. 9 months earlier, in Guinea-Bissau, John would have never wanted the child in the first place. He was one of the leaders of the rebellion groups in the Guinea-Bissau Civil War. He had caused chaos against the standing government, as he tormenting the citizens of the country. This discord among the nation attracted Eris, who had always loved a good fight. Noticing John's actions of destruction, she was seduced by him. One day, the rebel went incognito in the city of Bissau, disguised in attempt to not be recognized. He had wanted to spy on the stable leaders of the country who were having a meeting in town, trying to find out about their plans for the Civil War. Eris had walked out of nowhere and flirted with John for a while, gaining his attention. As she invited him to her motel room, things happened. All he knew was, that the next morning, his bed partner was gone. The only sign proving her existence to the man was a letter from the goddess. It explained the Greek World, which John already knew all about, being a child of Ares. The letter also contained information about their future offspring, who John had decided to keep and name Kali; the Hindu goddess of destruction.
As Kali was born to the world and given to John (Eris had left her by his doorsteps), he tried his best to hide her from his rebellion group, as a child might ruin his war-like reputation that inspired his teammates. But after a few months since the demigod's birth, he had died because of the war. Eris, hoping that her child could have a good future, sent her to her other child, Eric Louis, telling him to take care of Kali. Eric was rather displeased of this, but decided to keep the child because of his mother's threats. But her wasn't the best role-model for the young child to look up to. He drank and often left Kali alone in the house, going out. She grew up thinking Eric was her uncle. He didn't tell her about camp, as he thought she wasn't ready for the truth yet.
At the age of 10, Kali started inheriting her half-brother's bad habits. At school, she would always hang out with naughty children, often older than her, who would always make her do bad deeds. Influenced by the elder kids, she would even ditch school. When she turned 12, she was starting to get physically developed; which didn't go unnoticed by Eric. He began abusing Kali, in many ways. It made her close up, and stopped being true to herself. This also caused her to have anger issues. Any person that would even dare to briefly piss her off would get herself/himself yelled at and even hit. Things didn't get any brighter in Kali's life as she started developing a major case of dyslexia.
As she turned 13, she was alone with her half-brother, celebrating her birthday. As someone had ringed the bell, Kali's hopes lighted up. But they soon went down the sink as there was a rather large, menacing dog at the doorsteps. Eric ran up to the attic, leaving Kali with what was actually a hellhound. She was attacked by the beast, until Eric finally came back down, with a cross bow. He aimed at the monster, and killed it in the snap of a finger. Kali, was however left with many injuries, that scarred her to this day. Demanding an explanation, the daughter of Eris was only told that it was an untamed dog. She didn't believe him, of course, but stayed silence in fear of getting abused again. She was attacked twice after that, and but was luckily protected by Eric. But Eric had manipulated her into thinking that they weren't actual monster. The main reason why he was lying was because of Eris, who had ordered him to only tell the truth to Kali when she will be old enough to go to know and accept it.
For the next two years, she wasn't harmed by any more monsters, as Eric protected her. But she had decided to finally stand up to Eric, as the curiosity of the event was eating her up. Eric told her the truth, thinking it was time she found out. He mentioned camp, and Kali soon begged him to attend it. He accepted, not wanting to deal with her anymore. After packing her things, they drove to Manhattan. The siblings were luckily undisturbed by any monsters. As he dropped her off at the Hill, leaving as soon as possible, Kali entered the borders. She was claimed as a child of Eris, and now fits in with demigods.
