Objective[]

Head to Sydney, Australia in search of more information regarding Pagos and Lilith for the Broken Covenant. Sydney

Mission[]

Nala: Waits patiently for everyone to arrive, her eyes closed.

Callisto: Arrives and sit next to Nala.

Rolland:Approaches with a backpack. Ello, loves.

Nala: Opens her eyes. Hey Callisto, hey Rolland. I'm Nala, pleasure.

Rolland: Rolland, as you know.

Callisto: Smiles. So, who else are we waiting for?

Nala: Closes her eyes again. Sydney Fosters, daughter of Aphrodite and Mana Te'o, son of Triton.

Mana: Sorry for being late, but I'm here. I'm Mana.

Nala: Rolls her eyes. I know who you are, duh. And yes, you are late, aren't you. Unfortunatley you are not the latest.

Rolland:Patience, Nala, patience. worst case, we can leave without them and they can catch up.

Catarina: Runs up to Rolland Hey guys, sorry I'm late, didn't know I was going to be allowed to go until the last minute.

Rolland:Ooooh, ello, M'love. He kisses her

Catarina: Kisses back Are we waiting on anyone else? Is it true we get to see Sydney? I've never been to Australia before

Rolland:Not anymore, we're not. Yes we are Grins. It SHOULD be nice,.

Catarina: Sweet, so we're flying or going by boat?

Rolland:Hadn't quite worked that bit out yet......

Catarina: Well either way we'll have to get out of the mountains and into civilisation.

Nala: Pushes some hair out of her eyes. Flying would be easiest as Sydney has some very odd people in their airports and we wouldn't stick out, saying that from experience. But if you want to go by boat, it would mean Sydney Harbour. And as Catarina said, we gotta get into civilisation first.

Callisto: Flying would be fastest.

Catarina: Unless someone's got a Boeing 747 stashed around here somewhere, we'd best get to the airport

Rolland: The lady makes a good point. Let's hoof it, unless someone can get us there faster?

Mana: I've got no ideas.

Cataraina We could always steal a car once we get out of the mountains, but until then we should head out

The Group arrives at the airport

Catarina: So how are we getting the tickets? I could write us up some if you wanted

Rolland: You seem to know what you're doing...

Nala: Scuffs her shoes. Writing up some tickets would be super, steals some m'n'ms from a random tourist by her and munches on them.

Mana: So write up the tickets we don't have all day.

Catarina: Goes over to the front desk and asks what planes have seats available, after finding out she goes back to the others and writes 5 tickets using her journal, and passes them out to the others. Hope you don't mind first class, no way I want to be stuck in a flying tin can in coach all the way to Sydney.

Callisto: Of course we should fly first class.

After a few hours, they arrived at Sydney.

Nala: So, maybe we should head to hmmm Sydney Opera House? Sydney Harbour Bridge? Somewhere big..

Rolland:Perhaps, though traditionally, hidden information is hidden in smaller places. Y'know, for the sake of hiding it. I'd suggest somewhere more local.

Callisto: Like?

Mana: Or we could go to city hall and read about what strange things have happened in the past.

Catarina: Or we could look over some newspapers, if it was big enough to be noticed by mortals, it'll be in the paper

Callisto: Goes to a newspaper stall and bought three newspapers and a magazine. Here, let's try looking. She flicks through the magazine. Well, not much in here except bright colors are back in trend, as is floral prints. But Peplum dresses and skirts looks overwhelming in my delicate form. Sighs and asks innocently. Anything interesting?

Rolland:Snatches the paper away, Give me this....Searches it a moment. Aha! "Sydney Tower to celebrate it's 31st anniversary." There we are. Let's start there, shall we?

Catarina: So rent a car or take a cab?

Rolland: Renting a car would be best. The fewer people keeping tabs on us, the better.

Catarina: Hails a cab and gets in

Rolland: Gets in after her

Soon, they arrived in the Sydney Tower.

Catarina: Gets out So what are we looking for ya think?

Rolland: Not sure, but there's something here to be found, so let's start looking.....

Callisto: Let's go up. The observation deck is on the Level Four.

the questers head up to the level four observation deck

Catarina: Steps off the elevator and looks around

Rolland: He approaches a small podium with information about the tower and skims it while looking around the room.

They notice nothing out of the ordinary

Rolland: He slams his fist into the podium. Dammit, there's nothing here!!!

Callisto: Well, perhaps we should look somewhere else. Perhaps... the Royal Hall of Industries? There's Fashion Week.

Rolland: Fine. Clearly my intuition is non-existent.....

Mana: Maybe we should go somewhere actually important, not a fashion show. Like those newspapers said it was the 217th anniversity of the Australian frontier wars in Sydney.

Catarina: Yea but where are the main celebrations taking place, usually anniversary type celebrations like that, there's no specific area for them

Nala: Her phone starts ringing so she quickly takes it. Yeah...Oh...Uh huh....Now?! But...C'mon....Please? Gods, fine....Be right there.... Turns back to the others. Damn it, I gotta leave you guys. Been 'summoned' back, need mah skills for something. I will see guys when you get back. Smiles at them before spinning around, snatching a ticket she saw from another tourist pocket, waving at them and leaving with a wink.

Rolland: So specific locations get us nothing, wide-open areas get us nothing.....what other real options are there?

Callisto: Umm, we haven't been to any 'wide-open areas' yet. Maybe...the Harbour Bridge?

Catarina: Well with Nala gone, we are down to just 4 of us, wait looks around I haven't seen Mana since they walked down that corridor, but anyway, yea maybe the Bridge, can't hurt

Rolland: Good idea, love. I'll get the taxi this time. He hails a cab and gets in.

Mana: I'm right here, you know, and the bridge sounds like a good idea. Follows Rolland into the cab.

The questors get into the cab, and soon they reached the bridge. They start exploring by foot, walking from one side to the other side.

Catarina: Maybe Anton was right, maybe this is a giant waste of our time

Rolland: I'm starting to believe that. He sits on the ledge of the bridge.

Mana: He's not wrong and we can't give up, and let those insolent campers find a clue that helps the campers defeat Pagos. We are smarter, stronger, and better than those campers and if they can find a clue, we can.

Catarina: Rolls her eyes What for bragging rights?

Rolland: Open your eyes, you c*nt. There's FAR more than some non-existent competition with camp going on here. I mean really? The whole world is at stake, and all you care about it beating camp? My gods, kid, grow up....

Mana: You're one to talk, you were the toddler who was about to give up he glares at Rolland

Rolland: Walks over and picks him up by the throat. Remember who you speak to and to pay proper respect.

Callisto: Hey, hey, holds Rolland, don't beat him up...

Rolland: Don't touch me, or tell me what to do....

Catarina: touches Rolland's shoulder come on, he's not worth it.

A loud high-pitched beeping can be heard over the roar of the traffic crossing the bridge.

Rolland: Very well, love. He drops him. Now, you be thankful for she has spared your life. But make no mistake, this won't happen ag- WHAT THE BLOODY HELL IS THAT BEEPING?!

Catarina: tries to find the source of the beeping

Rolland: He looks over the bridge, trying to pinpoint the source of the sound.

Catarina: Maybe it's a boat, under the bridge?

The sound is certainly emanating from under the bridge.

Rolland: Hmmm.... He removes a small disc-shaped chunk from the bridge and steps onto it. Care to take a look?

Cararina: Doesn't see where the others went off to Yea let's go, those two are just slowing us down steps up with Rolland and holds onto him

Catarina/Rolland[]

Rolland lowers the disc just under the bridge and tries to find the source of the beeping.

Catarina: Looks around I was thinking bomb, but I don't think bombs usually make such a loud sound, hey there's a boat down there, looks to be anchored

A small device with a tiny green light visible upon it is attached to the underside of the bridge, still emitting the highpitched sound.

Catarina: as they go lower she notices the sound is more above them now, so she looks up Ummmmmm do you know how to diffuse bombs?

Rolland: No, but perhaps I can contain an explosion if need be..... He raises the disc back up to the device and examines it, trying to ignore the beeping.

Catarina: If we could remove it from the bridge we could let it explode in the bay, but if there's a pressure sensor on it, moving it could cause it to blow prematurely, and I hate it when things go off prematurely

Rolland: I wouldn't know... Winks. Though let's try this.... He tries to contain the device using concrete from the bridge.

Catarina: won't that still cause the bridge to explode?

Rolland: If I do it right,it shouldn't......

Catarina: looks worried what if you just took a chunk of the bridge out with it on it? the sensors if there are any shouldn't account for a whole chunk of bridge going missing, but on the other hand, it would be severely less than if the bomb went off

Rolland: That's what I'm shooting for, love

Catarina: Hmmmm I could try and go back far enough in time to see who set it....

Rolland: Good idea. That'd be helpful

Catarina: does her thing Damn, a week back still nothing, I have no idea how far back I'd have to go, not sure if I should try

Rolland:Nothing for a week? Damn....You want to try again?

Catarina: I don't know, it could have been months ago, especially if there's a remote to this thing, let's just focus on getting it off the bridge and into the bay

Rolland: Very well. He removes a chunk of the concrete with the device and lets it drop into the bay.

The concrete, with the device still attached, drops into the waters below with a large splash and the beeping quickly ceases along with it.

Rolland:Looks at Catarina.........Crisis averted?

Catarina: That seemed way too easy, set us down over there by the bank

Rolland: Entirely....sure thing. Sets them down by the bank.

Catarina: Looks around the bank Ya know this is one of those times, I wish I had a sword like that hobbit guy from Lord of the Rings, the one that glowed when orcs were nearby, that would be really handy for if monsters were nearby

Rolland: Indeed. Us? We just gotta keep on our toes and hope for the best.

Catarina: Sighs and looks around, noticing a boat left unattended tied up to a dock a 100 yards down from them Wanna go for a boat ride?

Rolland:Smiles Sure, Love.

Catarina: goes over to the boat with Rolland, about the size of a large speed boat, noticing no one around, they hot wire it and head out I figure this way we can cover more ground, check along the coast

Rolland: But of course. He scans the coast as they go.

Nothing out of the ordinary appears along the stretch of coast until a man becomes visible at the shoreline; standing perfectly upright, arms tight at his sides, and gazing out at the ocean. He could very easily simply be an odd tourist, or something else.

Catarina: points to the man let's pull in there

Rolland: Pulls the boat in near the man and gets out warily, watching him.

Catarina: gets out with Rolland Sir?

The man makes no reaction, and continues staring out over the Tasman sea.

Rolland:He pokes him. Oi! Sir?

The man reacts to the touch, and turns to look at them, though strangely his eyes lack focus and he seems to be looking through them instead of at them. He then shudders slightly, as if caught by a sudden chill, and walks off into the forest with a stiff gait.

Rolland: Do we follow?

Catarina: Shrugs Might as well, I mean he's either really effed up, needs our help, or that is some seriously strong mist around here that he doesn't even see demigods

Rolland: He takes her hand and follows after the man.

Catarina: Takes Rolland's hand and follows the man into the forest.

They follow the man for several minutes until he comes into a clearing at the center of which stands what looks like an old and abandoned military bunker. The man stops for a moment on the edge of the clearing, and then walks across it and into the bunker.

Catarina: looks at Rolland Think we should keep following?

Rolland: Yes, but just in case......He draws his sword and follows.

Catarina: Does the same and has a page handy from her notebook, they go into the bunker.

The bunker is clearly old, probably dating back to the second world war when Japanese invasion of Australia was a real possibility. Since then, cracks have appeared throughout the structure and the old communications technology that once filled it is rusted, rotten, and covered in a thick layer of dirt. While the initial entrance is above the surface, the hallway leading to the interior of the bunker slopes downwards and daylight can be seen further down the passage. The man is out of sight.

Cataraina: Well no point in turning back now goes further into the bunker

Rolland:Twirls sword and follows.

The passage widens into a massive concave space that was most likely once a command center of some sort. Unlike the entrance, whatever equipment or items that once filled this space have been removed and replaced with a layer of earth and verdant plant growth; creeping in from a large hole in the ceiling through which rays of light illuminate the ground below. While ample light floods into the chamber, much of the hole itself is filled by the trunk of an enormous tree with its branches clearly high above in the forest canopy and its roots sprawled across the floor. The strange man stands before the tree, rigid, inert, and looking straight into its trunk.

Catarina: clears her throat to try and get the man's attention

Rolland:Oi!!

The man remains emotionless, and as Rolland's yell echoes about the room, the base of the tree begins to warp and shift, revealing a short nymph holding an equally small wooden wand. She walks up to the man and touches him on the forehead and he shudders again, as he did on the coastline, and turns to face them. The nymph looks them over and with a somewhat disapproving tone says:

Nymph: I see people are less polite than they once were...

Rolland:Perhaps, but I could be more belligerent....

Catarina: We didn't mean to be rude, but we are looking for any information regarding Pagos

Rolland:It's rather imperative...

Nymph: Curtly You throw names at me and expect instantaneous answers? I don't know who you are, or where you came from, and you know nothing at all of me. If I do know anything, I hardly see why I should tell you.

Catarina: Well from what we hear Pagos poses a threat to all demigods and creatures

Rolland: So, in short, it'd be in everyone's best interest if you'd provide us with the information we seek.

Nymph: and you have proof to back your assertions?

Catarina: Well this Lilith person, sent a letter, and we are trying to confirm her story

Rolland: He runs a finger down the blade of his sword impatiently.

Nymph: Her eyes light up at the mention of Lilith's name. It's been a very long time since I heard that name. Tell me, what do you know of Lilith?

Catarina: not sure where these people stand with the BC, she skirts around that topic I've never met her personally but she has quite a reputation

Rolland:We also know that this Pagos character's causing her a bit of apprehension...

Nymph: Grins If she's still alive now as you say, I expect she does have quite the reputation. When I met her she was only a little girl, but that didn't stop her from saving my life... anyhow, tell me more about yourselves. I hadn't been able to leave this area for some time until... recent events... and so I'm quite curious about the outside world.

Catarina: I'm not sure that's something that can be summed up in a nut shell, not knowing what your general knowledge is to begin with of the outside world, I wouldn't want to offend you further making assumptions on how much you know or don't know

Rolland: In short, it's hard to say...

Nymph: It should suffice to say that I haven't left this general location for nearly three hundred years, by my estimate anyway. Though, I suppose what you say is true... and that cannot be explained so quickly... perhaps introductions will have to do for now?

Catarina: smiles politely I'm catarina, and this is my boyfriend Rolland

Rolland:He Nods politely and slowly puts his sword away.

Tamarisk: She settles lightly upon one of he many roots running along the floor. My name is Tamarisk, and I was born long ago... and far away... Lilith saved my life once, as I said, and I still owe her for that. So, if she sent a letter to you asking for your help, you can count on mine as well. Now, you said you were looking for someone named... Pagos? Can you describe him to me? My knowledge of the outside world increases daily, even if it is so far limited strictly to the city, and so many people are known to me. If this man lives within Sydney, I am sure that I can find him for you.

Catarina: I believe Pagos is a god, or titan I'm not entirely sure which.

Tamarisk: A god? Of what?

Rolland:I wouldn't say a god. From what she said, he's not much unlike her.

Catarina: OH right like some sort of accidental thing or what not, something to do with Ouranos' blood

Rolland: Though she did make it clear that he was more powerfulk than her somehow.

Tamarisk: Not much unlike her... Ouranous's blood...? Her eyes go wide as a realization sweeps her face. If.. if that's the case then there's probably something I ought to tell you...

Rolland:Do tell....

Catarina: L'istens

Tamarisk: Looks uncomfortable. Well, for any of this to make sense to you I will have to explain my relationship with Lilith. Lilith was wandering when I met her, without a companion, and when she came to rest beneath my branches companionship was all I could provide. I originally lived along the banks of the River Nile in a Tamarisk tree until an Ottoman Sultan, told that Osiris' head was buried beneath my tree's roots, decided to cut it down in order to build himself a throne from it. When his workers arrived, Lilith tried to reason with them, and when they wouldn't budge, she killed them all. I was shocked, because I had never seen a ten year old girl do such a thing and while I have seen stubborn children, she was something else. Perhaps she simply had too great a sense of justice for her own good, or perhaps she really is as insane as she makes herself out to be. Anyway, the Sultan next sent soldiers, and they set fire to my tree; killing it and in turn killing themselves by earning Lilith's wrath. When a nymph's tree dies, she dies too, and while I lay there, she asked me whether I wanted to live. I was confused at first, but she explained that by giving me a portion of her immortal blood, she could save my life. Apparently she had done it before, and it was safe, and so I lived on. I no longer needed a tree, so I wandered the world with Lilith after taking one of the last branches of my original tree and fashioning it into this wand here. We eventually separated. A few hundred years ago, however, the effects began to wear off and I felt a strange longing deep within me. I realized that I needed a new tree and so I planted a new Tamarisk here. The tree kept me alive, as long as I stayed with it, until recently... until I met someone else with a similar promise. He said he knew Lilith, and that he knew the procedure well because it had been performed on him also...

Rolland: He reaches for his sword again. ......You don't say?

Catarina: Pagos?

Tamarisk: I didn't get his name, he simply showed up here saying that he knew Lilith and that he was willing to provide a solution to my problems. I was desperate for an escape so I asked no questions and took what I was given. For the first time in hundreds of years... I'm free...

Rolland:He grips the hilt of Avalanche. So, are you an ally of this man?

Tamarisk: If I was, I probably wouldn't be calmly sitting here, would I? No, what I want to know, is why he did this to begin with. I assumed it was just Lilith's way of helping me out again but... given what you've told me... there's certainly more to this...

Catarina: Perhaps, if he has blood control like Lilith does, maybe having his blood in you, could make it so he could control you if he needed to.

Tamarisk: Shocked You don't think...

Rolland:Yea....You're cute, but if you try to kill us, we'll gut you like a fish.

Tamarisk: If I wanted to kill you, I could have done so quite some time ago. What do you think he is? She points to the man who is still standing there.

Catarina: a zombie? said with slight sarcasm, as she knows he isn't a zombie, but he's sorta acting all blank and oddly so

Rolland:He grips the hilt tightly. Dead if he f*cks around.

Tamarisk: Indeed, if he were ever truly alive. Understand, I have spent a very long time here, and so have had much time to work and experiment and test all sorts of projects. Projects nothing like those undertaken by Hephaestus or his children, but instead experiments in life; most specifically, plant life. After a very long time working, I have discovered how to effectively replicate humanity in plant form. All they lack are developed brains, which allowed them to be my eyes and ears over the past few years. Of course such a process isn't so simple, and I require a template from which to create them. Among my other projects was a spore which, when inserted into the human nasal cavity, allows them to be controlled through subtle signs and signals. Marvelous, no? No harm came to these people, of course. They simply had it suggested to them that they should take a drive down to the park, walk here, and partake in my experiments. When I was done with them, they were released unharmed. I now have over a hundred companions, if you can consider them that...

Catarina: stares at Tamarisk Sounds.....interesting......though, with that ability I could see why someone like Pagos would be interested in you

Rolland:Indeed. Though it's imperative you not assist him...

Catarina: Yea according to Lilith he's bad news.

Tamarisk: But you said he could control me...?

Catarina: Just a theory, as Lilith has control over blood, I'd assume he does too, and though Lilith can't really control demigod's blood, I'm thinking if he infused his with yours, that would give him more control

Rolland:Well, we'd hope you wouldn't just relinquish control....

Tamarisk: That doesn't sound as easy as you suggest...

Catarina: well we aren't entirely suer how it works or what kind of control it is, could just be that he can threaten your life if you won't do what he asks, but as he hasn't asked you anything yet

Rolland: But surely you'd resist....

Tamarisk: Incredulously You seriously think I'd willingly give up my freedom to this "pagos"? Or to anyone at all?

Rolland:Well your tone isn't exactly dripping with conviction....

Catarina: Well if it was help or die, you might not have a choice.

Tamarisk: If I don't have a choice, it isn't necessarily willing.

Rolland: Though from the sound of it, you'll just go along with it.

Tamarisk: "Just go along with it" implies willingness, though, and I assure you that it wouldn't be willing. If I have absolutely no choice in the matter though, yes I suppose that would be the case. You seem to have a talent for making things sound incriminating, Rolland.

Catarina: whispers in his ear to calm down a bit I'm sorry, we've travelled far to get here, and the others we were with gave up and left, so we are a bit tired from travelling

Rolland: Yea, we've kinda been getting f*cked on all sides today, and not in the good way. So forgive my less than accommodating demeanor.

Tamarisk: Well, I will admit, I would very much like to accompany you but given the current state of things... as you present them to me...

Catarina: Well to be perfectly honest we aren't really sure where to go from here

{C}{C}Rolland: We'd gladly have you, but at this point, it's just the blind leading the blind.

Several individuals enter the room behind them.

Intersection with Camp Team One.

Please note that this is an attempt to test out scenarios in which two groups meet.

After joining up with 2 members from Camp, Catarina and Rolland head back to Virginia and pass on the intel they got to Heinrich
