Livia is quieter than Elitia. She prefers to keep to herself. She is stuck in her twin's shadow, which lead to her envy. When hanging out with others, she tends to just agree with whatever a person says, no matter what she really thinks. When she gets angry, she doesn't tell anyone.

Melissa met Aether at a mall. Aether was going through suits at a clothing store. Dazzled, Melissa bumped into him. They immediately fell in love, with him introducing himself as Adam. They had an affair, then Aether left. He left her a note saying that they might never see each other agin, but he would always remember her. Touched, Melissa didn't really care that he left, because he was so courteous. Besides, she had a souvenir: her twin girls, Elitia and Livia. She was a sucker for weird names.

Ellie and Liv had a normal childhood. Ellie was always in charge, making tons of friends. She lead the debate team, and was president of the student council. From an early age, she believed in fairness and equality. Liv seemed content to follow in her wake, but she really envied her twin. She stayed quiet, watching Ellie's every move, waiting to pounce. It was just like this, mundane, monotonus, and mediocre, until seventh grade, when they were 13, when Ellie needed to get a book for a science report.

Ellie and Liv went to the library to pick up a textbook that Ellie needed, and Liv wanted some Greek myths. They went into the library, and noticed that a weird girl was watching them. Alarmed, Ellie and Liv slunk into the science section. Ellie felt a tap on her shoulder. She turned around, to see that the girl was behind her.

"How would you like to die?" asked the girl. It then turned into a hideous creature with wings.

Ellie and Liv began to scream.  They cluthced onto each other, awaiting their doom, when the librarian came out of nowhere, pulled out a bronze sword, and stabbed the creature to death.

"Hi," said the librarian. "I'm a satyr, and I'm here to take you to somewhere safe."

"A Whata-what?" asked Ellie.

The satyr explained everything. They were demigods, that monster was a harpy, and the Broken Covenant was their safe haven. Sadly for the satyr, their father did not let him take them. The satyr trained them secretly. He actually worked for the BC. He fed them bad information about the gods, and told them only about how unfair the gods were. Ellie and Liv, while reading Greek Myths, decided that a democracy was the right choice. This way, the minor gods who were barely even mentioned would get to rule. They had not done anything unfair, so they assumed that if those gods were elected into power nothing bad would happen. They were also told that camp was a place for children of the gods to become slaves. Noting that some gods didn't have cabins, they believed that the gods without cabins were more fair.

One year later, a hellhound attacked their home. It knocked the entire house down, Their father was crushed by the roof of the house. Ellie and Liv escaped in time, and killed the hellhound with their weapons. In grief, the satyr flew them to the BC. They were 14.

While the satyr was bringing them to the BC, he was captured. They were told that he was captured on order of the gods. They wondered what he did to be captured. It was unfair to them, just like all of the other things that the satyr taught them. They devised a plan to escape and find the satyr.

At camp, they were quickly claimed by Aether, which made them proud. Everyone else just sympathized for them though, because their father was not a cabin god, which made them bristle. They were stuck in the Hermes cabin for the time being, where all of the kids just talked about how amazing their father was and ignored them completely, making them assume that all major and cabin god-birthed demigods were arrogant. At dinner, they watching in disgust as the campers offered food to the gods. They thought that the gods wee being too lazy, and were hogging food from minor gods like their father. In the middle of the night, Ellie and Liv snuck out. Using their now trained powers, they summoned balls of light. They couldn't find the archway, so instead they ran into the forest. Deeper and deeper they went, until they were tired and lost. Suddenly, they saw a beam of light. Ellie drew her bow and picked up an arrow, while Liv wielded a katana. A glowing figure emerged from the shadows.

"I am a light nymph, part of Civitas Popularis. I heard that you were coming with that satyr, and thought that you might like to come with me there." the nymph explained.

Ellie and Liv followed the nymph through the forest until they reached the Broken Covenant. They went to the Civitas Dorms, where they live now.
