Mason Parker was born in New York into a highly influenced Italian family. His first language is Italian, one of the many languages of love, and later learned English when he entered kindergarten. Being the youngest of six other brothers taught him to be tough and fight for himself, later influencing him in his teen years to become quite the bad boy. His lawlessness, although at times completely uncontrollable, was put aside when it came to ladies at the matter of hand. Mason's mother strictly taught him that women should be treated with respect, and he's been following his mother's words of wisdom his entire life. However, Mason did have six older brothers and a father. Being the youngest did have its perks, and he learned from his siblings' and father's mistakes long before it was his time. This made him a complete expert in wooing girls flawlessly, no matter if she had a girly personality or a rather tomboyish one. A certain Greek goddess was no exception.
Aphrodite and Mason met at an art museum, where Mason was currently working at as a curator. At this point, Mason was a young twenty two year old, fresh out fo college. Mason was overwhelmed by the woman's beauty as she scanned the Greek gallery's artwork. Summoning up his courage, he engaged in conversation with her, and soon they were talking away meaningless subjects about art. As soon as his shift was finished, he immediately asked the goddess (who was posing as a woman named Claire Matthews) out for some coffee. The goddess ultimately accepted, intrigued by Mason. The two hit it off right away, and not so much time later, Mason found out he was going to be a father. In a short period of time, he was expecting a small person at his doorstep of the apartment he owned and he was going to be completely unprepared. Aphrodite explained that their daughter was going to be special, and later confessed to Mason she was a Greek goddess. Mason, under her charmspeak, believed anything and everything she said. Even if she was lying to him, at least it he had some ideas for parenting his daughter-to-be. The next day, the goddess vanished from New York City. Mason, still hopeless, went to his mother for help. Although his mother scolded him for being a father at such a young age, she agreed to help him raise his child.
True to her words, a baby in a swaddle appeared on his door step, not so much time after his last sighting of Aphrodite. She was born on July 24, 1997. Mason's mother figured that she must've not been older than three days. Mason, however, was overjoyed. He had a healthy, beautiful baby girl, and that was made his daughter--in his mind--perfect. Naming her Miranda (after his mother when he owed her so much) Claire (after the godess's fake name when they met) Parker, she grew up in Mason's apartment, her grandmother partly raising her, as her father was busy supporting both of them. Her grandmother completely adored her. She made Miranda blankets, toys, hats, and when she grew older, she loved to shop for Miranda's school clothes. However, her grandmother died of old age at the age of sixty nine when Miranda was only seven. Then, Mason's six brothers stepped in. You may have wondered why Mason's family supported him so much. As Miranda soon grew up and discovered as well, it was because the Parker family believed that family came first. Influenced by so many people, she had the gentle side of her grandmother and mother, while also having the rough and tumble personality the Parker men possessed. At age eleven, (after some serious nagging from one his brothers that insisted Miranda have some classical education) Mason signed her up for piano and violin classes daily after school. It was around this time, soon before she turned twelve, that she had her first monster attack. Being old enough and responsible enough to walk home and ride the bus by herself after school alone had left her vulnerable to monster attacks. One day after her violin class, while walking down an empty street, a hellhound pounced on her out of an alley. A felllow halfblood who was not year round had come to her aid and slayed the beast, walking her home the rest of the way and gave her some ambrosia to heal her wounds. Although she felt fine, she had a nasty cut on her forehead and her ankle seemed sprained. Her uncles and father were worried sick when she didn't arrive home, and were speechless when she came home battered and bloodied. Mason took into mind the camp that Aphrodite deemed the only safe place for people like Miranda, and sent her there the summer she turned twelve. Ever since she had been attending Camp Half-Blood, she knew how to defend herself, fight off any further monster attacks, and knew more about who she was. Mason even couldn't help but to feel a bit proud when she took home a violin bow that can transform in a celestial bronze spear. At fifteen though, she encountered her second monster attack, and though she fought it her best, she came home again battered and bloodied. Mason decided for her own good that she be shipped off year round from that point on.
