Emma Hampton was 21 years old and drinking at a bar in celebration of finally being able to drink alcohol. While in her drunk state, she flirted with a man who appeared to be roughly her age. They talked with each other, and the man took her to her house. Emma was so drunk that she didn't even think about how the stranger even knew what street she lived on. The two had a one night stand. When she woke up, she found herself nude and with a huge headache from the hangover, caused by drinking too much alcohol, alone in her bed.
Three months into the pregnancy, Emma discovered that she was having a child, and so did the child's father, Aeolus. A few months later, she gave birth to a small baby girl, which she named Skylar with the influence of Aeolus. Her middle name was Amelia, after the great female pilot.
Emma was wealthy from being the CEO of a fashion industry. She hired the best tutors for Sky and made sure that Sky was kept very healthy and was very skilled at many things, including archery, martial arts, math, science, and a lot more. She also received dreams once in awhile from Aeolus who would try to explain to Emma what Sky was. Of course, Emma didn't think the dreams were real, and thought nothing of it.
When Sky was 9 years old, her visual cortex was damaged from a terrible biking accident. Sky only ended up with a minor concussion, but she was also blinded. Emma immediately hired tutors who specialized in blind people. She made sure that Sky's life wouldn't be changed by simply not being able to see. Sky was trained to use other things, like the wind, or nature, to 'see' instead of using her eyes.
Since Sky's scent was very weak, considering her father was only a minor god, her first monster attack, wasn't until she was 13. A couple months before the attack, a young adult had moved into the house next door. The young adult was a satyr who was assigned to be Sky's protector. His name was Alex, and he always wore a fedora, baggy, black pants, and a black vest with a white shirt. Anyways, Sky was arriving home from a brisk walk when she heard a loud growl from behind her. She heard the banging of the ground. BANG. BANG. BANG. She sensed something was wrong and started sprinting forward, trying not to run into anything or anyone. Suddenly, just as the thing was getting closer, she heard a clopping noise and then a smash. "Who's there?" she asked frantically.
"It's me, Alex. Right now we need to get you inside . I have to talk to you and your mom," a man's voice replied.
"Alright, let's go," she responded, walking towards the door.
Alex opened the door for her, and she thanked him. "Mom!" She called.
"In the kitchen, sweetheart," she answered.
They both walked to the kitchen to join Sky's mom. "Oh, hi, Alex. Can I help you?" she asked seeing Alex behind Sky, at first not noticing that Alex didn't have any pants on.
"Actually, Ms. Hampton, I'm here to help you and your daughter, Sky. You see, I'm a satyr, half-goat and half-human. I believe that you might have been getting a few dreams from Sky's father, Aeolus, the god of winds. Sky, here, is a demigod, half-god and half-human. I need to escort Sky to a camp, where it will be safe for her. She may later choose whether or not she wants to stay for the rest of the year or just come back in the summers..." Alex continued to explain about camp and Sky.
"This is ridiculous," Sky said. "There is no way, I am half-god, it's just not possible."
"It is too," Alex insisted. "Sky, have you ever done something or er, seen something that you couldn't explain? Like the time you were blinded from the accident. Do you know how the accident occurred in the first place?"
"The wind had picked up, and I couldn't control the bike, so, I skidded out of control into the sidewalk, and hit my head on the ground," Sky muttered. "But that doesn't really, prove anything."
"Before you were blind, you couldn't read properly because the words were all scrambled, and you also had and still have ADHD, right?" Alex said. "And you understand a lot of Greek writing and words before you could even speak English, right?"
She nodded twice. "And that big dog thing, earlier. The thing that almost killed you and made you a hellhound sandwich," he added.
"Alright, I believe you, I think," Sky said.
"Did you know that I'm not wearing any pants right now?" he added. "And that I have a goats hide."
Emma had noticed that Alex was pantless while the two were talking and stood a bit shocked. Sky hesitated. She had smelled goat fur earlier, but didn't think anything of it. "Here, reach your hand out. I'm holding my hooves out to you," he said.
She reached out and felt something rough and a but pointy. She felt the hooved-shaped feet. She also reached her hand up a bit and felt the soft wool of his goat fur that was normally covered by his baggy, black pants."Alright, I believe you," she said.
"Okay, let's get you to camp. We'll drive in my. My car has a few gadgets installed in case of emergencies, so if we run into any monster trouble, we won't have to stop," Alex said.
Sky nodded and followed Alex to his car. She climbed into the car. They drove off. Sky lived right outside the city, so it wasn't too long before they were in Long Island. Before they reached the camp entrance, two more hellhounds attacked them. Alex pushed a couple of buttons. Two long bronze spears extended out of the engine. Suddenly Alex slammed on the brakes, making the hellhounds run right into the car. The spears pierced the two of them and they dissolved into a yellow powder. Alex continued to drive and pulled up to the entrance. "Welcome to camp, Sky. I'm going to go tell Alexander that you're here. Make yourself at home, and you should make friends in no time," Alex said and then walked away.
