For centuries, creatures of the Earth have watched the stars, examining their beauty in so many ways. They find love under them, use them to find home, use them as a light in the dark, or just gaze at them. The love for them grew and they were celebrated. The U.S.A. has them on their flag, as well as other countries. Asteria created Sybil, a star nymph, in honor of this growing fondness of her creation.
Sybil took the form of a teenage mortal and became Asteria's own personal assistant, as most nymphs are. Sybil cared deeply for her master, like a daughter would of a mother, though she knew Asteria viewed her as just another nymph, able to do duties Asteria didn't have time to do.
As a reward for her behaviour as a loyal nymph, Asteria let Sybil stay in Camp Half-Blood for a while, knowing the curious nymph usually asked questions about mortals. Eagerly, Sybil arrived at Camp with an upbeat persona and a smile. She met many other nymphs who usually left now and then to fulfill duties, and Sybil enjoyed her time.
After sometime in Camp, occasionally she would go back to her creator and do things for her, Sybil started to hear rumours about a nymph who betrayed the gods and decided to join the Broken Covenant.
Curious, Sybil started to ask around, and found out all sorts of information: that the nymph was pushed to far, hardly rested, and was hardly fed. The nymph was said to have been eager to go to the BC, and left camp, though they don't know if she made it there. The nymph stayed on Sybil's mind for a while. Asteria would never act like that creator, she knew. Asteria was kind, and everything she would have asked for in a creator.
That all changed when Sybil went back for the summer solstice. The popularity for the stars grew and lay many more duties for Asteria. She had given the other nymphs their duties, though most of them were at camp, enjoying their reward. Sybil went back to help her creator, but Asteria became very rude, arrogant, and bossy. Sybil knew Asteria probably was frustrated and tired, but she was distracted from the fact by Asteria's actions. She never said thank you, and just commanded and commanded Sybil. Thinking it was just a phase, Sybil let it go. But for the next year or so, Asteria kept demanding things from her, making her extremely lethargic most days. She didn't have a say in anything she did. Sybil became sick too, but Asteria just wanted jobs done. She thought about all the stories she had heard about demigods who have horrible histories with the gods and it becae clear to her that it wasn't fair for them either. The love for her creator vanihed; she just wanted to escape.
One day, in the nymph sanctuary at camp, she overheard some nymphs talking about the BC. She walked up to them and asked them, with a candy coated way of asking, and they told the way, unsuspecting she would be taking the route, the way they heard from rumours. Even though the rumours may not be true, Sybil was determined to a least try. She made her way to the Broken Covenant, following the stars as her sense of direction, but half way there, she stopped because she was scared what would happen to her. A few steps ahead and she met a member of the BC, whom drew a sword and confronted her. She cringed but told them she wanted to join. Hesitant, they led her with their sword still out to their leader.
