Amber was an architect she mostly did houses but she could do just about anything. She was sketching out a Victorian style house when the bell to the front door of her store that signaled someone was entering. She said her usual "Welcome" when a new client walks in. Amber finished the small section she was working on then finally looked up. It was a new client, a man. He was looking around at some of her samples. "You are really good at this" the stranger said to her. Amber accepted the compliment and walked around her drawing station to admire her work with him. He, being Hephaestus was also very good at this kind of thing. He kept looking at her Colonial style sketch. He finally figured out what was wrong and pointed it out "Ma'am these are really good, great actually but, you see here on the Colonial? The pillars aren't traditional. Colonial houses are known for the pillars and windows if those are messed up then the whole thing is." Amber was impressed that he knew so much, she was actually kind of insulted by his correction, she felt intimidated. But she looked a little closer at the sketch and finally noticed it too. it was a small error. She checked with her other prints of the same type of house and nothing was wrong it was just a small mistake, everyone has a slip up, she employees must had not checked the print yet. She was surprised that he noticed it. "Can I hire you?" she asked joking but a little serious.
He declined her offer. But he was there for an actual reason. He had a sketch but didn't have the connections to actually make it happen. Amber said that she could help him out, but they would have to talk about it over coffee. She had never done that but to her surprise he accepted. Two days later they had coffee on her lunch hour. They didn't really talk about business related things and she was glad. Most of Amber's life was consumed with scheduled and she was always on edge, it was nice for her to finally relax. He told her that his name Anthony and that he was really into anything that required an assembly. Like architecture, construction, black smiting and, etc. He was into most of the same things she was. Since she runs her own store and she has employees, she really didn't have to be back at a certain time so they stayed at the coffee shop for close to four hours just talking.
Amber grew up in a prestigious family. They were always after money, her mother was a Fashion Photographer for top brands like Tory Birch, Chanel, Dior, and many other high end brands. Needless to say she made bank herself, and her father was a lawyer. Amber lived on the Upper East Side her whole life, she wasn't really into all the glitz and glamour where she lived brought her her entire life. When she got out of college she separated herself from her family. She still lives in the Upper East Side but doesn't attend all of the events she should. Her parents also weren't too fond of her job choice so they always looked down on her, they thought that job was for men.
Anthony was very intrigued in her life story, he was very impressed that she didn't want to be a part of the high society. Most women would only dream to be where Amber's family is. They finally left the coffee shop and went back to Amber's flat. You can only imagine what happened there. Once again, the god had to explain himself the next morning after what they had done. Amber was taken aback for a minute. Strangely she had always loved learning about Greek Mythology, she just didn't believe it was real. She understood that he had to leave, she just hoped she wasn't pregnant and had to raise the baby alone.
Sure enough she missed her monthly cycle and she knew that she was pregnant. she didn't know what else to do, so she went crawling back to her parents. They looked down upon her for having a one night stand, that is not what they wanted her daughter to become. Amber's father insisted to go to court to get child support out of this guy, not that they needed it, he wanted to go to court for something. Amber was persistent that she didn't want his money or him in her life. The second part was a lie, she really did fall in love with him but she knew that he could never come back.
Nine months later on June 8th, 1999 her baby boy was born, she named him Uriah. Uriah was the most precious things in her life, she never wanted to be apart from him. She worked from her home for the first four years of his life, she loved that child so much, it killed her to be away. Uriah was a mamma's boy at that age so he would cry if he was with anyone but his mother. When he started going to school that year, of course his grandparents insisted on a private school, Amber finally went back to work at her store. Her co- workers missed having her around. she missed it too but she always worried about him when she was away from him.
Uriah's favorite toy was Lego's, naturally he got his father's talents and his mother had the same. He was so content when he was building things, other times he was very mischievous. Amber couldn't help but love his wild side, he reminded her of her when she was young. Uriah's grandparents really didn't socialize with him, they were always busy. Which was also the case for Amber's childhood. They started to attend all of the events that the Upper East Side living was packaged with, surprisingly Uriah loved it, he loved the lights, decor, attire, everything. It didn't go to his head though, he was still the sweet well mannered boy.
He attended a private boarding school in Pennsylvania throughout most of his schooling. It was in the outskirts in Pennsylvania, Amber thought it was a great idea to broaden his mind about people outside of the Upper East Side. Uriah was sad that he was leaving his home and all the events but he didn't argue. Sixth grade year was his first year there. He loved it because he didn't have to deal with the nagging of his grandparents about how he wasn't good enough, he could do what he wanted, within the rules. So he never really came home on breaks, if he did, he never really left the house. When the Upper East Side was all he knew he thought it was fantastic, but now he doesn't think that. He doesn't miss all the constant rushing to go everywhere.
He made so many friends at his boarding school, but they knew their limits too. The only time his personality showed any of Hephaestus was when he was working, other than that he was like his mother. Those were the times his friends knew to stay away. He really didn't have a liking to the school portion of the day, he struggled to focus, he mind was always elsewhere. he never told anyone about it though because he didn't want to give people a reason to think that he wasn't good enough for the boarding school. The teacher also never noticed, for such an expensive school the teacher were pretty oblivious. His roommate Jerome was his best friend, they did almost everything together. He met Jerome his first year at boarding school when he was his roommate and they have been roommates ever since.
In Pennsylvania he also widened his interests, he started playing baseball. He never thought about sports back in New York. But now? Baseball was one of his favorite activities. A few kids also taught him how to play the guitar, he became very good at that as well. If Uriah sets his mind to something, he won't give up until he achieves his goal. He was into a lot of things, he wasn't just a one crowd guy. Most everyone liked him. He never really argued with anyone and was always respectful so people respected him.
When was fourteen his first attack happened, he couldn't really described what happened, all he knew was that he was heating up a frying pan to make it into something else when the thing he thought came out of no where. He didn't know what else to do so he swung the frying pan and clocked to monster right in the jaw. The monster become even more furious and Uraih really didn't know what to do, so he ran towards the door, he slammed the door behind him. He thought that the door was holding him back but really his friend Jerome was in there fending off the monster.
Jerome took Uriah back to their door and quickly packed most of his belongings. Uriah didn't know what was happening at the time. They traveled a week and finally made it to camp. During the travel Jerome told him a few important details, he was a satyr, a Harpie attacked him, and he was the son of a Greek god . Uriah didn't really ask much, he didn't really want to think about it. There was one question he asked, "Which god is my father?" at the time Jerome didn't know which caused Uriah pain because his entire life he had just wanted to know his dad. He was claimed at the age of 14 but since he was claimed on June 5th, he will be 15 on June 8th. When he arrived at camp, he was filthy, he really wanted a shower. When he was in the shower Hephaestus claimed him, he didn't know what it was so he grabbed a towel and ran out of the showers and asked someone, they said that he was a child of Hephaestus. After being claimed he received a CB Sword to start out with, this didn't really fit him so he will change his main weapon later on.
