Camp Half-Blood Role Playing Wiki

Description[]

Zoe has long, blue-black hair down to her...shoulderblades? About shoulderblades. She has pine green/forest green eyes, and pale skin. Zoe prefers to dress mostly in light gray and some dark blue. She is quite short, for her age. There is a beauty mark over the left side of her mouth.

She is generally shy, avoids social interaction if at all possible. Easily stressed. Enjoys writing, but finds it difficult to avoid writing about her demigod life. Typically affiliated with good, but is usually apathetic and prefers to actively fight only when it benefits her. Very intelligent, and bookish. Zoe is aroace (asexual and aromantic).

History[]

Her mortal parent, Charity, was a Canadian 20-year-old who was working two jobs. Charity met Boreas during her work at a hotel. She was enchanted by his calm, cold grace and over time they began to date, although Boreas refused to ever call the relationship by that title. When she discovered she was pregnant, she decided to go "totally out on a limb" and proposed to Boreas. It was then, of course, that he had to reveal his true identity. Charity was crushed and somewhat disgusted that it made a difference. Due to her acquire contempt for Boreas, she refused to even look at his newborn daughter. Zoe was given away as an infant by her mortal parent, but adopted and raised by a couple named Lisa and Byron. She was raised in the mountains of Colorado. Her powers were first noticed when their yard tended to get more snow than the neighboring yards, including in summer. Her parents were divorced at the age of six - according to weather reports, the worst winter Denver has seen since the sixties.

Whilst vacationing to Vermont, on a hike, when she was ten, she got separated from her mother when the weather took a turn for the worse. Within a number of hours, Lisa and a search party she had organized found Zoe...buried in a foot of snow...where she had been for the last hour... NAPPING. Nobody in the family was aware of her heritage at the time, so it was a highly disturbing event which no one understood, but they did not report it, to "protect" Zoe. She suffered only from a severe cold and frostbite in her fingertips - however, this did not change that fact that to the parents she should have been dead. When she was twelve, she began to realize her abilities were the result of something more powerful, especially as she learned about mythology in school, and she began to develop a theory. During a violent storm, all three members of the family, far apart though they were, had the same dream. When her family realized, they vow they would obey the dream (even though the "whole business was preposterous, really"), and so, when a cold, bitter wind whipped through the trees, past the house, they followed it wherever it took them. On the way, they were followed by a harpy, who flew at the group with knife-like fingers. Zoe held up her hand in fear and, though she did not intend to do any such thing, shot a long spear of ice at the harpy, soon disintegrating into dust. This experience drained her greatly.

The final destination of the journey was, of course, Camp Half-Blood. Since both parents arriving with the child, and none of them knowing the truth, was a sufficiently rare state of affairs, Alexander and the rest of the leaders of Camp were a bit uncertain as to what to do. Byron and Lisa eventually agreed to let Zoe stay as a summer camper, once they were over the initial confusion and shock, but were furious with Alexander for not allowing them to enter. This will be Zoe's first summer at camp, at the usual age of twelve.
