They have a telepathic/empathetic connection with nature and other nymphs. They also have a special, stronger connection with other animal nymphs.
As they are nymphs they do not age, remaining eternally young.
Their senses of smell, sight and hearing are enhanced, enabling them to sniff out monsters, track down demigods, etc.
Supplementary[]
They are able to summon animals to aid them; they have the best control over their own animal type.
Specific to each Animal Type[]
Each type of animal nymph has its life force attached to that species, so if a species were to go extinct the nymphs would die.
Each nymph is able to change into the type of animal he/she is, and only that type. So the bear nymph could not turn into a mouse, but he/she could turn into a grizzly bear, black bear, polar bear, etc.
While in animal form they have all the normal abilities of their animals. So if the nymph is a hawk nymph he/she can fly.
While in regular nymph/person form, they only retain passive characteristics/traits from their animals. So if the nymph is a hawk nymph, perhaps he/she remains claustrophobic in enclosed spaces but cannot fly.

Svetlana: Svetlana bounced up and down at the entrance, before making a beeline for the ferris wheel.
Shane: He didn't know why he was here. There were so many people, and everything was so bright. It hurt his sleep deprived eyes. But he didn't want to be called stuck-up again. He didn't want people to think that way of him. So here he was, doing the best he could to be normal.
Svetlana: Svetlana turns into a woodpecker, flying past Shane in a blur.
Shane: He blinked in surprise and rubs his eyes. Was he hallucinating now too? Yawning a bit, he turns himself into an eagle owl and goes to perch in the cavity of a shady tree. Normally he didn't use his powers very much, but he just felt like it today.
Svetlana: The woodpecker looked up at him curiously from a lower branch - a thicker one, which could probably hold some amount of weight; and that seemed to be proven as Svetlana became herself again, still looking curious.
Shane: The nymph began to settle himself into his feathers, however, still unable to find rest. He could feel two eyes on him, and when he peeked to see, he saw Svetlana there. Surprised, he accidentally turned himself back into a human, causing his now larger body to be crammed uncomfortably in the cavity.
