Bowen Spall ~ Son of Astraeus

"I survived the island now I'm coming for you"
Character's Bio

 Age: 17  Height: 1.87m  Weight: 63kg
Sexuality: Straight  Relationship Status: Crushing like hell
Birth Place: Sydney, Australia  Main Weapon: An axe with two CB blades that can turn into a pen, a CB spear that can turn into a small metal pole the size of a pen, a bow and quiver that can turn into a necklace and a bracelet. All weapons will come back to Bowen in their non-weapon forms if he loses them.
 Accent: Australian

Character's Powers

 3/6/9 month powers locked

  1. Children of Astraeus have the ability to conjure weapons out of plasma which can be used for combat; however, only one weapon can be conjured at a time and it cannot be bigger than the one who conjured it.
  2. Children of Astraeus have the ability to focus an intense beam of plasma which will burn anything it touches.

  1. Children of Astraeus have the ability to summon a cluster of miniature stars directly in front of them which can be used to block incoming attacks; the stars, however, dissipate quickly.
  2. Children of Astraeus generate an orbit around themselves for a short time, all attacks and people near the user get caught in the orbit, causing them to fly around, unable to attack the user. The user cannot move while the orbit is active.

  1. Children of Astraeus are innately stronger during the night.
  2. Children of Astraeus have the innate ability to see in all directions at once during the night.
  3. Children of Astraeus can innately adapt to most natural planetary environments within reason, meaning they're less likely to die of heat stroke and hypothermia.

  1. Children of Astraeus have the ability to create temporary light sources, similar to concept of a flare, which will alight an area or blind an enemy for a short time.
  2. Children of Astraeus can manipulate the force of gravity of the planet and change the direction and force of it. They can cause items to float or stick to the ground for a short time or cause them to fly into a certain direction. Once the curse wears off, the item is immune to further use of it for a moderate time.
  3. Children of Astraeus have the ability to use the gravity pull of the planet to slow down enemies for a short time, giving them a high chance to avoid an opponent’s attack or prevent an opponent from avoiding one of the user’s attacks.
  4. Children of Astraeus can limit gravity’s effect on their own bodies, causing them to float up and fly. The longer they fly the more it drains them.

3 Months After Character is Made

  1. Children of Astraeus have the ability to conjure a small supernova, which will burn at anything in its wake on a 10m radius, as well as producing a loud booming sound coming from the explosion. It cannot differ friend from foe and will affect anyone or anything nearby.

6 Months After Character is Made

  1. Children of Astraeus have the power to cause up to three constellations to appear in their physical forms to fight alongside them. Each constellation will appear as an enlarged version of the thing it is based on except for human based constellations such as Orion which will be the size of a human. Constellations will dissipate after a short time, leaving the user moderately drained. Ex: If the user summons the Cancer constellation, it will be a giant crab that cannot be bigger than 2 or 3 times the size of the user.

9 Months After Character is Made

  1. Children of Astraeus have the ability to change the surface and mass of their bodies to reflect the surface and mass of a planet in the solar system of their choice for a short time. For example, if the user wishes to turn their body into flames, they would adopt the surface of Mercury. No matter which planet they choose to assimilate with, they will be extremely drained after the transformation and they can only use the power once per fight. They may switch planets while in this state. Ex: The user is reflecting Earth to reach an opponent and then reflects Mercury to attack them. Once in this state, they lose access to their other powers. Excluding those that are passive.

  1. Children of Astraeus often wield innate knowledge of constellations, space and other planets in the solar system.
  2. Children of Astraeus can tell the time, date and their location simply by looking at the sky.
  3. Children of Astraeus typically dream of becoming astronauts, to explore the stars and other planets.

And so it begins...

Jillian: Shy, and suddenly feeling very young and small at 13 years old, Jillian woke up in an unfamiliar bed and screamed before clapping her her hand over her mouth when she realized she'd cried out. Her dreams had been awful - monsters she'd never seen, darkness, carnage. She looked around the small room and frowned. She only remembered coming to Camp Half-Blood yesterday and walking up to the hill with the terrifying dragon... what had happened?

Bowen: He had been sleeping back out in the common area of the cabin, instead of in his room. The flashbacks of the island were to much to deal with in the unnatural looking room. Screaming woke him up. He turned his mother necklace and bracelet into his bow and quiver and headed for where the screaming came from in the cabin, worried something bad had happened.

Jillian: Shaking slightly, she slipped out from under the surprisingly comfortable covers on the bed, and put her bare feet on the floor. Where had her shoes gone? She looked at herself, and to her surprise saw that she was wearing starry pajamas - definitely not her own. Shaking her head, she got up to look around.

Bowen: He heard the sound of footsteps not far away and figured it was one of his half-siblings so he changed his weapons back into their normal form. "Anybody awake?" Bowen said quietly.

Jillian: Jumping slightly at the sudden sound, Jillian turned towards the voice. "Hello?"

Bowen: He turned to face where a voice came from, looking at a young looking girl. "I'm guessing you were the one screaming earlier?" Bowen said.

Jillian: Blushing and looking down, Jillian nodded. "I'm really sorry, I didn't mean to I promise, I'm sorry." Her voice shook slightly, her attempts to calm down failing, instead showing her fear and nervousness. "Please don't be mad, I'm sorry. Who are you? Where are we? I'm sorry I'm so confused, I don't want to bother you."

Bowen: "Calm down there. You're in the Astraeus cabin, in Long Island, America. I'm your half brother, Bowen. I know exactly how you feel." Bowen said, calmly and quietly.

Jillian: Memory came flooding back. She'd come into the camp, past the dragon, and she had felt so exhausted that she collapsed into the arms of the arms of the first person she'd seen, right as they were telling her about the camp. Right before she passed out she'd seen some sort of glowing symbol above her head. "Astraeus Cabin?" She frowned. "I think I remember somebody carrying me, but it's all sort of hazy. Was that you? Wait, Astraeus is my father?"

Bowen: "No it wasn't. I was busy with matters on the other side of my family. If you're in this cabin, he must be."

Jillian: "Ok..." She looked around and saw her backpack by the wall, along with her clothes folded neatly on top, her shoes sitting beside it. "Oh! Someone brought my things!" She rushed over to it, checking it thoroughly before turning back and facing her tall and somewhat intimidating half-brother. "Um... I'm really sorry if I woke you up. I promise I didn't mean to." She looked away. "I'm sorry I'm so nervous too. This is so... strange. And new. And I'm confused and emotional and really scared and now I'm spilling out my feelings to a half-brother I just met I'm really sorry." Her last few words spilled out all at once. She looked terrified, and flinched like he might hit her.

Bowen: "No need to be sorry. I felt the very same way, but at least you have people with you. I spent hours crying when I first met our world, all alone, on an island in the middle of the Pacific." Bowen raised an eyebrow as Jillian flinched, trying to put together things for while she acted like that.

Jillian: Her face moved from scared to worried and scared. "Are you ok?" She fidgeted. "Um, what happened? Can I ask? I'm sorry, it's ok if you don't want to, I don't want to annoy you or... stuff." Her voice shook around the word "stuff." Do you want to sit down, are you tired? I don't want to sit if you don't want to sit." She flinched again, in her mind thinking Please don't be angry please I'm sorry...

Bowen: His brain was fixated on trying to figure out why Jillian was acting the way she was, thinking that she was abused by someone, either her parent, step parent or another relative, as he sat down. "I was heading from India to here with my mum, before harpies attacked the plane, bringing it down. The only reason I survived was because of our dad and Poseidon. I spent like 5 years on an island alone, until I found two other demititans under the island and my cousin found me, taking me to here."

Jillian: Her eyes widened. "That's amazing... you must be so smart." She seemed to be slightly less nervous, if only for a moment while she was processing how powerful her new sibling might be. "I don't think I could ever do that, I'm not strong enough. Was coming here better? Is it nice here?" Although her voice was still fearful, there was slightly more of a curious tone than before, seeming not as afraid to ask.

Bowen: "I am but not the smartest here. The one that runs the cabin for us, Aria, is smarter than me. I am resourceful though. You don't need to be strong, you just need to be able to think on your toes and able to deal with the elements." Bowen laughed at the questions he was being asked. "The answers to all of those other questions are yes."

Jillian: At hearing Bowen laugh, Jillian seemed to relax a bit, and even gave a slight smile. "Ok, that's good. I still haven't even seen a lot of this place yet..." She looked around before asking quietly, "I know it's kind of late... but are we allowed to go outside? I kind want to see what the camp is like." She tensed suddenly. "If it's ok to I mean, I don't want to get into trouble or make anyone angry, or bother anyone."

Bowen: "There is a thing called curfew but you're talking to the guy that breaks it nearly every night, so he can sleep outside," Bowen said, smiling a smile he stood up, his ankle cracking as he did. "That didn't sound good. Anyway, we can see all around us during night time, so it's harder for us to get caught."

Jillian: Jillian swallowed. "I don't you to get in trouble... Or make anyone angry. Wait, you can see all around at night? What do you mean?" Her curiosity seemed to distract her from her distinct nervousness. "I haven't had any powers come out yet... can you teach me?"

Bowen: "That one power is hard to teach because it just happens naturally during the night. You'll be able to see me if you aren't even looking at me but I'll teach you. Anything to help a new kid."

Jillian: Jilian's eyes lit up, and she quickly put on and laced up her shoes. She smiled. "Thanks. Hey, can you maybe show me around camp? If it's ok? Oh, and um, where would we train and figure out powers? What other powers do you have? This is all so cool! And terrifying. Why doesn't the dragon on the hill try to eat everyone? How many people are here?" Jillian suddenly realized she was asking too many questions, and her cheeks turned pink. "I'm sorry."

Bowen: Bowen used his gravity powers on his other weapons, from inside his room, and made them float to him. "Like I said, anything to help a new kid. Well, we can manipulate gravity. We share the same powers, but mine are stronger though. I had years to train." Bowen laughed at Jillian's two last questions. "I don't know. Probably the same answer to why the monsters in the forest don't try to attack us. The other question, however, I can't answer. New demigods are showing up nearly everyday and I don't think anyone keeps count on how many demigods are here."

Jillian: The smaller girl's eyes widened as she saw the weapons float. She still blushed, but her eyes shined with excitement. "Um, when can you show me around? If it's ok? I don't want to bother you."

Bowen: "We can do it right now." Bowen said as he picked his things from out of the air.

Jillian: "Sweet!" Jillian smiled and began to walk, before remembering that she had no idea where the exit of the cabin was. She gestured dramatically in front of her. "Lead the way, magic gravity guy that I'm related to!"

Bowen: Bowen smiled at Jillian as he started to walk towards the door, opening it for Jillian. "Ladies first."

Jillian: Jillian blushed slightly and walked through. After a few paces, she suddenly stopped dead as she looked up at the sky in wonder. More stars than she'd ever been able to see at night from her little bedroom window all shined like diamonds as she turned around, taking it in... And suddenly she realized that she didn't have to turn. If she focused slightly, she could see it, all of it. She could sense what everything looked like, and her brain would piece it together, without her even trying. "Bowen, I," She began, before getting lost in the beautiful night sky again. She'd never felt like this before, she'd never been out this late at night and freely under the dark sky. "I-It's so beautiful, Bowen. I c-can see it... I can see it all." She was beginning to shiver in the night air, only in pajamas and a pair of running shoes, but she didn't even notice. She was enthralled by the cosmos. "The stars are so amazing."

Bowen: "You make it sound like I've drugged you." Bowen said, laughing as he closed the door behind him, softly. "You know we learn better than most people about the stars or just have a natural knowledge about them. Like how I know which stars in the sky are actually planets, even though I've never ever learnt it before."

Elk: Elk had lately been having terrible nightmares, so she decided to go on a late night walk. That's when she saw two other kids coming out of a cabin. She didn't know either of them but she had seen the older one around sometimes. The younger one, she had no idea. Due to her being lonely and tired, she walked up to them. "Hey, can I join you guys?"

Jillian: Jillian yelped at the sound of a new voice - she'd been so wrapped up in looking at the sky she didn't notice her approach. "Oh! Um, yes of course!" Her cheeks turned bright pink. "Note to self - crazy night vision only works if I'm paying attention. Oh god, I hope I'm not in trouble, is she angry?" Jillian flinched. "I'm sorry."

Bowen: Bowen saw the new girl turn up, even if he wasn't looking at her and only turned to her to be polite. "Nothing really to join us though. I'm just showing my new little sister, who's name I don't even know, around and how to use some of her powers."

Jillian: The new little sister in question looked at Bowen nervously. "Oh, um, my name is Lyra."

Bowen: Bowen watched Jillian and could tell she was lying. "Lyra sounds awfully lot like Liar to me."

Elk: She smiled at the two. "I'm Elk." She could tell the girl was new and nervous due to her lying. "You don't have to worry here. Camp Halfblood is the safest place for people like us."

Jillian: Jillian realized with a start that she'd quickly lied, like her stepfather drilled into her. Whenever somebody worried about her asked who she was, she'd always replied Lyra if she didn't know them. "I'm sorry, I'm really really sorry. My name's Jillian. Please don't be mad, I'm really sorry, I didn't mean to... " She flinched and closed her eyes.

Elk: "Haha, don't be." She looked at Jillian. "I'm guessing you're new then?"

Jillian: Jillian nodded shyly, shivering a little. "Yeah."

Elk: "Don't worry." Elk winked at Jillian. "I was just like you when I first started. Nervous and tense."

Jillian: Jillian looked at her. Seeming fit, muscular and intimidating, but also charismatic and nice, it was hard for Jillian to imagine Elk being scared. "Um... can we look around? I haven't really seen Camp yet."

Bowen: What he was thinking about why Jillian would randomly flinch after nearly every time someone seemed angry started to fully come together. "I'm Bowen by the way. Didn't I just agree to show you around, Jillian?"

Elk: "A tour this late?" Elk needed to make some friends around here and Jillian and Bowen looked cool. "Can I come?"

Jillian: Jillian looked over at Bowen nervously. "I'm sorry, um, I meant if she could come too and show me around with you if it's ok." She stumbled over her words, her chocolate brown eyes looking fearful that she'd suddenly made a mistake. "Can she come? Please?"

Bowen: Bowen started to smile. "That is like asking does a bear go in the woods."

Jillian: Jillian looked surprised for a second, and quickly reverted to smiling. "Ok! Lead the way you guys!"

Bowen: Bowen turned to look at Elk, just out of politeness. "How long have you been here because I would rather someone with more camp experience to lead?"

Jillian: The younger girl looked at Elk expectantly.

Elk: "Oh, about a month, I guess." She looked at Bowen then Jillian. "I'm still all new at this though, so you lead the way."

Bowen: "I've been here longer then. So where would you guys like to go first?"

Jillian: Immediately Jillian's curiosity overpowered her shy nature. "Do you guys have a place where you learn to fight?" While she wasn't normally into such things, recent memories of nearly getting killed by a monster who destroyed her house were beginning to make her think she should try to learn to defend herself soon.

Elk: "I'm pretty sure there is a training near by." She looks towards Bowen. "Right?"

Flopfish3: This is my first ever roleplay and I'm trying to figure things out, this feels like it's going to be awesome!

Flopfish3 (talk) 03:47, September 18, 2017 (UTC)

Uni: Sorry it took me so long, got busy

Flopfish3: No worries! Take the time you need :)

Flopfish3: I've updated Jillian's page to include Bowen under relationships, as "aquaintence or maybe friend?, half-brother." Hopefully that works!

Flopfish3 (talk) 15:28, September 30, 2017 (UTC)

Uni: So sorry I only just posted, I wasn't home all yesterday, and forewarning, I might not be on a week starting t\omorrow

Flopfish3: Don't worry! I might invite another friend into the roleplay, would that potentially be ok with you?

Flopfish3 (talk) 23:02, October 3, 2017 (UTC)

Uni: Perefeclt fine with that

Flopfish3: I'm sorry if my next update takes a little longer, life got crazy and I just got discharged from hospital so I'm a bit wiped. I'll be back to normal soon though! (P.S. Lyra is my first name in real life lol, I guess I wasn't paying attention. But once I saw your characters' response, I realized that with Jillian's personality and history it works really well for her to lie about her name!)

Uni: Hey, so sorry for taking ages to post, I just go at back from a no wifi family holiday which was also connected to a nation judo comp that I got my ass kicked in.
