⚫ | '''Tyler:''' After hearing so much about this town that all the older camp members were talking about, he decided that he wanted to go and see what it was all about. Normally he would've asked Jake, but he was out at the moment, so his second choice was Karen. Having a messenger bag with a sketchbook and colored pencils slung over his shoulder, he knocked on the door to the Harmonia Cabin. |
||
+ | |||
⚫ | '''Karen:''' Karen opens the door with a toothbrush in her mouth, sweat pants and a bra on, when she doesn't see anyone at eye level, she looks down and sees Tyler. Karen immediately lets out a small yelp, slams the door in Tyler's face, then opens the door up a bit and peeks her head out, "I'll be out in a minute? I wasn't really expecting anyone,"... |
||
+ | |||
'''Tyler:''' He jumped a bit as the door was slammed in his face. Tyler wasn't sure if should snicker at how surprised Karen looked, or embarrassed at her state of dress. Deciding on the latter, he sat down against the door frame, waiting for her. |

Now she closes the trunk and asks, "Ready to head into Kohls?" |

'''Tyler:''' "I was hoping for speed." He suggests, "Mom is a messenger goddess, so being light on my feet would be beneficial." |
||
+ | '''Karen:''' She walks out of the mall door, and out into the parking lot, "Then you want grippy wheels so that you don't lose traction while you zoom around," Karen laughs and continues to walk towards the car. |
||
⚫ | |||
+ | |||
+ | '''Tyler:''' "I'll keep that in mind then." He says as he follows. |
||
+ | |||
+ | '''Karen:''' Karen reaches the car, unlocks her door, sits down into the car, reaches over and unlocks the passenger side for Tyler, closing the door behind her. |
||
+ | |||
+ | '''Tyler:''' Tyler gets in, and smiles, excited to go to the roller rink. |
||
+ | |||
+ | '''Karen:''' She starts the car and backs out of the parking spot, "So, do you want colors on your skates?" she laughs, "You know they can do colored wheels even!" Karen now puts the car into drive and starts to drive towards the skating rink. |
||
+ | |||
+ | '''Tyler:''' "I dunno...could I get each of the wheels to be different colors?" |
||
+ | |||
+ | '''Karen:''' "Kinda like a rainbow?" Karen asks, as she continues to drive. |
||
+ | |||
+ | '''Tyler:''' He nods, "Yeah, I think that if the boots are black and the wheels are vibrant, it'd be really cool." |
||
+ | |||
+ | '''Karen:''' "Why not white? Like a cloud?" She asks, still driving. |
||
+ | |||
+ | '''Tyler:''' He thinks, "That's a good point. I think I might have to go with that." |
||
+ | |||
+ | '''Karen:''' She pulls the car off the road and into a parking lot, the sign on the side of the building says "Galaxy Skateway". Karen parks the car and turns it off, "Ready to get some skates?" she asks happily. |
||
+ | |||
+ | '''Tyler:''' "Yep!" He beams again as he opens the door and exits. |
||
+ | |||
⚫ | |||
+ | '''Karen:''' Karen walks up to the front door of the building, grabs the heavy handle and pulls it open for Tyler to walk in. |
||
+ | |||
+ | '''Tyler:''' He nods thanks to Karen as he enters and looks around as his ears are filled with pop music. He stands inside the doorway for Karen to lead the way, he didn't want to run into any more people who Karen knew bad things about. |
||
+ | |||
+ | '''Karen:''' Karen steps in, walks up to the counter and hands the person behind the glass 14 dollars, she points towards the door that leads towards the skating rink, "You owe me seven bucks and three weeks worth of skating in the skates I'm getting you," she jokes with a smile. |
||
+ | |||
+ | '''Tyler:''' He smiles back, "Deal. Looks like I'll have to sell a few sketches in town then." He walks in and looks around the actual skate rink, wondering where he'd buy his skates. |
||
+ | |||
+ | '''Karen:''' "Tyler, I was kidding," she laughs as she walks around the side, just behind the wall that blocked their view as they walked in. Karen points towards the glass window with the words "Skate Shop" painted on it, she grabs the door and opens it, again letting Tyler go first. |
||
+ | |||
+ | '''Tyler:''' As he goes the door, he shakes his head, "You've already treated me a lot today...I should owe you something. I could do a drawing of you if you'd want. We could be even then." |
||
+ | |||
+ | '''Karen:''' "Tyler, do you know what a gift is?" she asks, and one of the girls in the shop looks up, says Karen's name happily and then points to a pair of skates on the counter and tells her they're ready to go and be skated with again. Karen points to Tyler and the shop girl walks over. |
||
+ | |||
+ | '''Shop Girl:''' "Hai, what can I help you with, young man?" the girl asks politely. |
||
+ | |||
+ | '''Tyler:''' Deciding to let the topic drop, Tyler decided to make Karen a drawing anyway as a gift to her. Looking up to the shop girl he smiled, "I would like to get a pair of roller blades." |
||
+ | |||
+ | '''Shop Girl:''' "Any idea what you want or want them to look like?" the girl nods at Karen. |
||
+ | |||
+ | '''Karen:''' She picks up her skates and walks towards the rink, pulling off her shoes and putting on the skates she stands, spins in a circle and then skates onto the floor, which at this early of an hour, is almost void of people. |
||
+ | |||
+ | '''Tyler:''' The son of Iris describes the skate design that he and Karen had discussed in the car. |
||
+ | |||
+ | '''Shop girl:''' She looks about the shop, then asks Tyler what size shoe he wears and if he wants to try a pair of skates before she puts the colored wheels on them. |
||
+ | |||
+ | '''Tyler:''' "I think I wear a size 7" Tyler says, excited to get his skates. |
||
+ | |||
+ | '''Shop Girl:''' She gets down a pair of skates with white boots, and hands them to Tyler, "Go try those out on the floor and tell me what you think," she says, then turns and walks behind the bar to look for colored wheels. |
||
+ | |||
+ | '''Tyler:''' He slides the skates on and tightens them. Carefully rolling out to the rink, he steps on and starts to carefully skate. He was able to keep his balance and steer, but when he tries to speed up, the son of Iris looses a bit of control. |
||
+ | |||
+ | '''Karen:''' Karen skates by Tyler, but doesn't zoom past him, instead she passes him and gracefully turns around and skates backwards, carving inward from the sides to up her momentum as she slows down to be a couple feet in-front of Tyler, "You're kinda wobbly," Karen grins, "Want to try and follow me and learn a trick or two?" |
||
+ | |||
+ | '''Tyler:''' He slows back down and re-gains his balance, "It's just when I speed up." He keeps following her, "Okay, whatcha got up your sleeve?" |
||
+ | |||
+ | '''Karen:''' "Up my sleeve?" She laughs, and turns sideways, and skates rolls around the turn with her heels together and the skates facing opposite directions, then does a spinning pirouette out of the stance and goes back to skating backwards. "How's that?" She asks. |
||
+ | |||
+ | '''Tyler:''' He nods, "Impressive...." He wasn't sure if he could pull that move off himself, but he slowly began to spin in place, careful not to fall. |
||
+ | |||
+ | '''Karen:''' She stands on the back wheels of one skate, and the front wheels of another, spinning in a circle, then slowly bends her knees and lifts one skate off the ground, leaving herself on the front wheels of one skate. Karen then stands up, "Lots of practice," she smiles warmly. |
||
+ | |||
+ | '''Tyler:''' Finishing off the spin, he starts to skate again, a bit more steady as he glides around the rink, "I think I'm getting the hang of this!" He smiles as he does a few large circles around Karen. |
||
+ | |||
+ | '''Karen:''' She giggles, then begins to skate backwards again, "You'll get better at it with practice!" |

+ | ====A meeting of fate==== |
||
+ | '''Zaken:''' Zaken steps out of the Nyx cabin, he was ready, oh so ready, he was going to ask Scarlett if she wanted to go to the Spring fair. Surprisingly it had taken him some preparing, because he always thought he wasn't good enough when he went to talk to Scarlett, she was so... innocent when he compared her to himself. Yet, nonetheless he stepped forwards, his black leather boots shined, his monk-like robe and (WB like attire really) shoulder pauldrons gleaming. His size changing, ash throwing sword was sheathed at his side, and he starts to walk. |
||
+ | |||
+ | '''Jessica:''' The daughter of Mnemosyne had been up early to get a copy of the daily paper from the Big House. Sure, it was yesterday's paper, but she wasn't interested in the articles. Instead, she got to work on the crossword. Jessica hadn't even waited to get back to her cabin to start working on it, instead, she was muttering to herself as she held the paper in front of her face as she walked. |
||
+ | |||
+ | '''Zaken:''' He continues to walk, and as he walks by Jessica, he grabs a corner of the newspaper and tugs ever so lightly in an attempt to snatch the whole thing out of her hand and then continue walking forwards like it didn't happen. |
||
+ | |||
+ | '''Jessica:''' The paper being pulled from her grasp caused her pen to tear into the paper. "Hey!" Jessica calls to the guy who was walking off with her paper, "I'm not done with that!" |
||
+ | |||
+ | '''Zaken:''' Zaken turns around, and folds the paper as he holds it out to her, "Sorry, figured you could use a slight of hand trick to enlighten your day," |
||
+ | |||
+ | '''Jessica:''' She shook her head, "It's okay, I had already solved it in my head." She looked at the pen in her hand, "Sorry that I had to ruin the fun for you though." She looked up at him, "Oh, I'm Jessica, Mnemosyne child." |
||
+ | |||
+ | '''Zaken:''' Zaken grabs a corner of the newspaper from under his palm, and pulls the paper into a funnel, "eh?" he asks, indicating she should look at the funnel. |
||
+ | |||
+ | '''Jessica:''' She peeked into her end of the funnel to see what he was doing. |
||
+ | |||
+ | '''Zaken:''' Zaken pinches the funnel at the top, closing it off, and then twists it, then peels the bottom out and it unfolds into a rose-like flower. With that, Zaken takes a step back on one foot and bows holding out the flower to Jessica and holds out his other arm in a dramatic pose. |
||
+ | |||
+ | '''Jessica:''' She giggles a bit before taking the paper flower and miming a curtsy, "Why thank you. I don't think I got your name though." |
||
+ | |||
+ | '''Zaken:''' "Zaken, son of the mother of the shadows of night," Zaken stands up straight, "Care to go for a walk to town—I'll show you a real puzzle?" Zaken asks with a grin. |
||
+ | |||
+ | ''Jessica:''' She gave him a sly grin, "My father is a code-breaker at the NSA. Solving puzzles is second nature to me. Lead the way Zaken." If this older camper had a puzzle that needed solving, she was eager to show that she wasn't just some bookworm. |
||
+ | |||
+ | '''Zaken:''' "I'm sure I could show your father a thing or two," He laughs, knowing that the NSA worker might be a bit better than he was, but most likely wouldn't be able to match his speed at figuring out complex algorithms. Zaken holds out his hand, "Want to shadow travel?" |
||
+ | |||
+ | '''Jessica:''' "Shadow travel?" the daughter of Mnemosyne asked, a bit confused. She knew that some demigods could teleport thanks to their powers, but the idea of being able to teleport a person with them? |
||
+ | |||
+ | '''Zaken:''' He nods his head towards his hand, "Take my hand and I'll show you," Zaken smiles haphazardly, an odd smile for him as he knows exactly where he's going to take her, and she has no clue. |
||
+ | |||
+ | '''Jessica:''' She cautiously takes his hand, "Okay...." |
||
+ | |||
+ | '''Zaken:''' Zaken shadow travels them far past the town, far, far past the town, and to a maze and puzzle convention being held in Pennsylvania, when the shadow travel stops, Zaken moans, "That... was too... damn... far for two... people..." he shakes off Jessica's hand and tries to compose himself. |
||
+ | |||
+ | '''Jessica:''' Jessica herself was a bit woozy from the travel, "W...where are we?" She looks and sees the puzzle convention, "How'd you know about this place?" |
||
+ | |||
+ | '''Zaken:''' "A magician, never gives away his secrets," Zaken says with a grin that's mixed between macabre and mischievous, Zaken then pulls out his wallet, and holds out to Jessica a wad of cash, (about $300), "Buy whatever you want, just, don't ask for more; I need to go talk to someone, I'll see you in a couple a minutes or so," He says with a smile. |
||
+ | |||
+ | '''Jessica:''' She takes the money and looks at it in awe, before looking at Zaken, "Thank you...I'll be inside waiting." She smiles at him and goes into the convention center. ''This is far to good to be true,'' She thinks to herself, ''First I meet a nice guy, then somehow he knows what I like, takes me to a convention for it, then he gives me money. I hardly know this guy, but it's like he's known me for years.'' |
||
+ | |||
+ | '''Zaken:''' Zaken now shadow travels, he travels inside of the convention and appears behind a booth where a friend is waiting for him, they talk, and the friend hands Zaken a ziplock baggie filled payment for a debt owed to Zaken. Zaken then shadow travels right behind Jessica, "boo," he scares with a laugh. |
||
+ | |||
+ | '''Jessica:''' Jessica jumps a bit, "Oh, there you are. Did you meet with your friends?" |
||
+ | |||
+ | '''Zaken:''' "Yeah, and he finally paid off his debt, so I'm 6,000 dollars the richer." Zaken laughs, "God I love interest," |
||
+ | |||
+ | '''Jessica:''' She looks at the money in her hands, "Is there interest on this cash? If so, I think it's better off in your hands." She smiles to Zaken. |
||
+ | |||
+ | '''Zaken:''' "Hurtful, really; gifts incur no interest nor do they require return of payment," His macabre grin comes back slightly. |
||
+ | |||
+ | '''Jessica:''' Sorry, it's just that this has all been too good to be true." Jessica explains, "I'm just waiting for the other shoe to drop." |
||
+ | |||
+ | '''Zaken:''' Zaken makes a shoe of shadows, and lets it fall to the ground, "Is that good enough?" he says, making the shoe disappear shortly after it smacks against the ground. |
||
+ | |||
+ | '''Jessica:''' Jessica can't help but laugh at it, "It sure is. Let's see what else there is here, come on!" |
||
+ | |||
+ | '''Zaken:''' "Sure you can," Zaken says as he shadow travels away, leaving Jessica alone at the fair as he goes back to camp to deposit the money he's just received. |
||
+ | |||
+ | '''Jessica:''' Wandering through the expo, she for fun slips into a mirror maze to see how fast she can get out. 'Zaken's a really nice guy...I wonder what he sees in me though...' |
||
+ | |||
+ | '''Zaken:''' Zaken deposits the money into his fund, Scarlet would be so happy to know that Zaken planned on taking her shopping soon. |
||
+ | |||
+ | '''Jessica:''' After a bit, Jessica admits to herself that she is lost in the maze. "Should've stuck with words..." she mused as she pressed against a mirror, turning around. |
||
+ | |||
+ | '''Zaken:''' He suddenly shadow travels into the maze, his appearance refracting and reflecting off of multiple mirrors, as he hopes to add to Jessica's confusion and bewilderment in this mirror maze. |

+ | ====Dark friends?==== |
||
+ | '''Zaken:''' It's dark out at this point in the woods, Zaken can barely see the moon, the frogs are croaking and crickets are chirping, it's cold enough that the mosquitoes are not out buzzing around, so Zaken walks, he's following a few campers that has caused problems for Karen, they would certainly remember not to mess with her again after Zaken was through with them. He kept to the shadows as he moved, slowly stalking behind the few, ready to make the rest of their night a "fun" trip. |
||
+ | |||
+ | '''Javan:''' The last demigod that the Panther Warden had ambushed had been an older Harmonia girl. He had followed her, staying to the bushes before ambushing her with a few foam darts. She had sounded annoyed, but Javan didn't think it too serious. Currently, he was walking back to the Nymph Sanctuary for some shut eye. |
||
+ | |||
+ | '''Zaken:''' Zaken steps out of the woods, onto the path, and now picks up his pace, quickly closing in on Javan. |
||
+ | |||
+ | '''Javan:''' As he gets closer, he hears the sound of footsteps picking up behind him. Turning into his panther form, he leaps into the woods and quietly waits to see who's coming after him. |
||
+ | |||
+ | '''Zaken:''' Having seen Javan jump, he shadow travels a few yards behind the area he thought Javan would be, knowing that the black shape was most likely the person he had been following. Upon seeing the black figure, he puts a hand on his sword, "Explain yourself," Zaken says as he pulls out his sword and swings it in a circle so that its ash trail makes a wall in between him and Javan. |
||
+ | |||
+ | '''Javan:''' He snarls a bit, the feline eye glaring at him, as if saying: ''I don't have to answer to you.'' |
||
+ | |||
+ | '''Zaken:''' Zaken shadow travels again, this time onto the path where he saw Javan leap into the woods, and waves his sword making another wall of ash, "Don't bite the hand that feeds you, for the smiting hand that feedeth you not, shall be your reward for staunch sins," Zaken says as he shadow travels again, this time to the side of Javan, making another ash wall. |
||
+ | |||
+ | '''Javan:''' Showing his teeth, Javan extended his claws into the earth. ''I don't need to bite to get you to leave me alone''. His snarling increased in volume, waiting for the demigod to make the first move. |
||
+ | |||
+ | '''Zaken:''' Zaken steps into the line of site of the panther, "Does not the hand that feeds create the discipline of that which it hath enmity, doth the hand really love that which hath been created—Panther Spawn, you will be punished for your deeds if you keep this state, slaying you will be easier than dispatching a human... Nymph." |
||
+ | |||
+ | '''Javan:''' He shifts back into a human, but still glares at the person, "Enough with the dramatics. Doesn't become you." |
||
+ | |||
+ | '''Zaken:''' "Neither do your actions regarding a particular Harmonia Counsellor," Zaken scoffs coldly, "You severely hurt her feelings, and that IS extremely hard to do, so kudos to you, @sshole," Zaken sheathes his sword, "We can do this the easy way, and you go apologize to her, or I can drag you to her and make you apologize," Zaken raises an eyebrow, his voice catching a frostier tone, "Your choice." |
||
+ | |||
+ | '''Javan:''' He realizes that the last demigod he ambushed was a cabin counselor. "It was just a few NERF darts. If it makes you feel better, I'll apologize." His tone was still hard, mainly since he was tired and wanted to go to sleep. If apologizing to her meant he'd be able to go to sleep in one piece, the well be it. |
||
+ | |||
+ | '''Zaken:''' Zaken immediately gets pissed, which is hard for him, "No you need to make her feel better, not me, and if you're an ass to her, mmmmm Just apologize, and mean it," Zaken pauses, exhales lightly, "A previously abused person will take the slightest thing similar to abuse or bullying, and will be stuck on it until they get depressed, or kill themselves because they can't get over it..." Zaken simply looks at Javan, not glaring, not scowling, his face is set in a non-chalant, casual slight smirk. |
||
+ | |||
+ | '''Javan:''' Guilt racks him when the demigod explains that the girl he had shot foam darts at had been an abuse victim. "Woah, woah, woah; I was just trying to have some fun. Most of the other demigods don't mind when they get shot with the foam darts. It's not like I was specifically targeting her." the last thing Javan needed was a person to kill themselves over something he did. |
||
+ | |||
+ | '''Zaken:''' "Then just apologize for her sake, not mine, because quite frankly, I understand having fun, I do that from time to time, but I don't just run off without explaining my fun or apologizing if I ever push to far," Zaken shrugs, "We can shadow travel there, and then I'll take you to get food if you want, because Karen is going to be a sob story and really really awkward after you apologize to her.... foam darts are fun," Zaken winks, and gives a small chuckle. |
||
+ | |||
+ | '''Javan:''' He didn't understand how the guy could be chuckling, Javan was just told that he may have pushed a girl over the edge and he was laughing? "What are you waiting for, let's go!" Javan's tone was a combination of guilt and panic. |
||
+ | |||
+ | '''Zaken:''' Zaken puts his hand on Javan's shoulder and shadow travels them inside of the clean, neatly organized, well laid out living room/lobby area of the Harmonia cabin, he lets go of Javan's shoulder, and gives the panther nymph a moment in case he needs to collect himself. |
||
+ | |||
+ | '''Javan:''' The Panther Warden steadies himself and looks around. Assuming he's in the Harmonica cabin, he calls out, "Um...is the counselor in? I'm really sorry for shooting those NERF darts at you...honestly, I didn't know about what you went through. If I had known, I wouldn't have done it, honest!" He was more pleading than apologizing. |
||
+ | |||
+ | '''Karen:''' Karen opens the door to her room, her hair is a mess, and she looks like she just woke up, "Why are we yell--oh," She sees Javan and tears come pouring out, her face is red from crying herself to sleep, and her eyes are bloodshot and her nose is stuffy, she even has a box of tissues in her hand. |
||
+ | |||
+ | '''Zaken:''' Zaken stands there, somewhat uncomfortable because he doesn't often deal with people that cry over nerf darts, but nods towards Javan and mouths ''Better work some magic or you'll regret this one on your own.'' |
||
+ | |||
+ | '''Javan:''' He hung his head in shame, "I came to apologize...I didn't know how you would take it. If I had known that, I would have never of shot those darts at you." Grief enveloped him, "I will do anything to make it up to you, just...please, accept my apology." |
||
+ | |||
+ | '''Karen:''' she looks at him, and her lip trembles, "YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT IT WAS LIKE—" and she turns around and sobs, "sure, just, just leave me alone and don't come back," She picks up a coaster off of the nearby end table and throws it at Javan, and then quickly scampers back into her room, locking the door behind her... |
||
+ | |||
+ | '''Javan:''' He lets the coaster hit him in his head, flinching in pain. "She is right...I don't know." He falls to the floor sitting, a small trickle of blood coming from his forehead, "Maybe I should just respect her wishes and leave." |
||
+ | |||
+ | '''Zaken:''' "Eh, let's just go get food and forget this happened," Zaken looks at the door then back at Javan, then in a hushed tone says, "She can be a real bitch when it comes to stuff like this, but she'll feel bad about it in a day or two, just wait, she'll be trying to hunt you down to apologize to you for the coaster," Then Zaken walks towards Javan, puts a hand on his shoulder and shadow travels them to a Subway. "Hope you like Subway," |
||
+ | |||
+ | '''Javan:''' He holds his hand to his forehead to stem the bleeding, "Yeah, just don't expect me to have a veggie sub." He sighs a bit as he starts towards the door, "Maybe I should retire the NERF guns for now. Last two people I fired them at reacted poorly, only good thing that came out of it was that I got a date out of the other girl. She took it far better than your friend." |
||
+ | |||
+ | '''Zaken:''' "Eh, I wouldn't worry about it, just, get better at sizing up a target before you acquire'n'fire," Zaken points at the glass, "Pick what you want, 6 inch or 12inch, doesn't matter to me," |
||
+ | |||
+ | '''Javan:''' He looks at the menu, "Eh, I'll take a six-inch," Javan shrugs, "It'll make a nice midnight snack." |
||
+ | |||
+ | '''Zaken:''' "Sounds reasonable; go ahead and order and I'll order behind you and pay," Zaken pulls out his wallet and thumbs one of the leather flaps on the bifold wallet. |
||
+ | |||
+ | '''Javan:''' Going up to the counter, he orders a six inch Subway Club and has the sandwich artist do her job, waiting for Zaken to order. |
||
+ | |||
+ | '''Zaken:''' He orders a foot-long and then pays for both sandwhiches and two cokes, "Ready to eat?" he asks Javan with a smirk. |
||
+ | |||
+ | '''Javan:''' "Yep," He sits at a nearby table, waiting for his sandwich, "So, how did you meet Karen?" |

Karen and Tyler
A Trip to Town
Tyler: After hearing so much about this town that all the older camp members were talking about, he decided that he wanted to go and see what it was all about. Normally he would've asked Jake, but he was out at the moment, so his second choice was Karen. Having a messenger bag with a sketchbook and colored pencils slung over his shoulder, he knocked on the door to the Harmonia Cabin. Karen: Karen opens the door with a toothbrush in her mouth, sweat pants and a bra on, when she doesn't see anyone at eye level, she looks down and sees Tyler. Karen immediately lets out a small yelp, slams the door in Tyler's face, then opens the door up a bit and peeks her head out, "I'll be out in a minute? I wasn't really expecting anyone,"... Tyler: He jumped a bit as the door was slammed in his face. Tyler wasn't sure if should snicker at how surprised Karen looked, or embarrassed at her state of dress. Deciding on the latter, he sat down against the door frame, waiting for her. Karen: Karen finishes brushing her teeth, spits into the kitchen sink drain, and washes the spit down the drain. She quickly moves towards her room in the cabin, closes the door, and walks to her dresser, whereupon she pulls out a pair of dark blue gymshorts, black dress socks, a pair of neon light blue jeans, a black tank top, white long sleeve shirt and her leather jacket... After putting all of this on, she puts her hair in a ponytail, grabs her wallet and puts it into her back pocket. Now, Karen walks to the cabin front door, and opens it up, "Sorry, I didn't think you would be at the door," Karen smiles... Tyler: Standing up, Tyler looked a bit embarrassed, "It's okay..." He then looks up at her, "I hope you don't answer the door like that all the time" As much as Tyler had tried to have been embarrassed, clearly he couldn't resist slipping in a small joke. "I was wondering if I could go into town...normally I'd ask Jake, but I can't find him. Ever since Ty mentioned that the Broken Covenant also frequent the town, I thought it'd be safe to bring along an older camper." Karen: "Nah, not all the time, I just woke up late this morning," She says sleepily as she yawns, "To town?" Karen thinks for a moment, what did she need at town, she had meant to make a trip and had even set aside money for a trip to town. "Here, come inside and help me look for something real quick?" she asks, more than less not wanting to leave the child outside in the cold while she looks for whatever she wrote down her town needs list on. Tyler: Nodding, Tyler walked in to the Harmonia Cabin. He had seen the outside before, but hadn't been inside too many other cabins besides his own, only other one being Eros' Cabin. "What are you looking for?" Tyler had a hard time believing that Karen could easily misplace something. She did wake up late though, he thought to himself, so he didn't say anything beyond that. Karen: "Just a list," Karen walks into her room, and comes back out with a brown leather backpack, that looks like it's a ROXY style bag. She has a small notebook that's got a brown leather cover and bindings with a pen slot. "Just needed my notebook, I have some shopping to do when I get to town. You won't mind helping me, will you?" She smiles, somewhat knowing that Tyler won't say no, so she figures she'll get him lunch or dinner, or whichever one works out best time wise. Karen pulls the keys to Gerald's car out of her bag, remembering that Gerald told her she could use it whenever she needed too, and she figured it would be okay since he was in a counselor challenge all day with Danica, the current Dionysus head. Tyler: Tyler began looking around for the note pad, careful not to pry too deep into Karen's things. He assumed as a daugher of Harmony and balance, that she wouldn't apperciate it if he went through all of her stuff in pursuit of a single notepad. "I don't mind, I just want to see what the town looks like, even if I'm helping you out." Tyler knew he wouldn't be buying anything today since he doubted that drachma were accepted in the mortal stores, instead, he just wanted the experience. Karen: "Well, I think in that case, that I'll take you to the mall as well," Karen smiles, "Ready to go?" She asks having found what she needed before Tyler even began looking. Tyler: "Yep," Tyler beamed as he headed over to the door, "What are you getting in town today?" Karen: "New shower curtains, the old ones are kinda grungy looking. I need more: soap, body wash, face wash, hair wash, hair conditioner, razor pads, pencils, drawing pads, and uhhhh, whatever else that comes to mind while we're out and about," Karen says as she walks to the kitchen, opens the fridge, checks it and then walks to the door beside Tyler, "After you," she smiles. Tyler: Exiting the cabin, he holds the door for Karen as she follows after. Staying with her as they walked, Tyler noticed the keys in her hand, "You have a car at camp?" Tyler knew that mortal couldn't get pass the barrier, but he never considered the fact that a person could drive a car though it. Karen: "I don't have a car, perse, it's Gerald's car; he parks it in the parking lot, just outside of the barrier with all the other cars," Karen smiles, and continues to walk, leading the way towards the parking lot. Tyler: He followed Karen, now curious about the parking lot, "Does the camp do Driver's Ed for demigods when they get old enough?" While he knew that there were a few more years before he'd have to learn, driving was still none the less a nervewracking thing for him. Karen: "As far as I know, the camp doesn't do driver's ED, I know that you can get a fake license from people who counterfeit them, but that's illegal," Karen picks up her pace a bit, they still have about a half mile to walk until they get to the parking lot, which to Karen has always sounded farther away than it actually took to traverse the distance. Tyler: Tyler raised an eyebrow, following her, "How do know about that? I thought at a cabin head you'd not know about that kind of stuff." He had almost used the term 'goody two-shoes', but Karen didn't fit that at all, she looked like she had smited a few monsters growing up. "If I did want to learn how to drive, legally," He added on for good measure, "Where would I have to go?" Karen: "Gerald is old enough that he could take you to get your permit when you're sixteen, and you could get your license when you turn seventeen," Karen continues to walk, the parking lot can be seen a short ways off from where they are, "Gerald or I could take you to drive in the dirt fields that are somewhere around here, Andre talks about them a lot," Tyler: "At least I have a few years before I have to worry about that," Tyler shrugged, "If I manage to live that long at least..." he felt the mostly healed mark on his side from when he practiced with Ty, "Who's Andre?" Karen: "Andre is a Hades kid, he's kinda cute, down to earth, and owns a red Ferrari," Karen giggles, but it sounds more like a short, hearty laugh. "Hey look, there's Gerald's car, right at the front of the parking lot," Karen points towards the black mustang with dark gold stripes, as she continues to walk towards the car. Tyler: He was about to question how a demigod could afford a Ferrari, but his attention was caught by the Mustang that Karen was heading for, "I can say one thing about Gerald, he has a good sense in picking car colors." The cororation of the Mustang gave it a sleek yet powerful feel, and the stripes only added to it. "How do mortals not stumble upon the parking lot of cars nowhere near a building or business?" Karen: "Well when one turns around, and looks, they see a farm and strawberry fields," Karen smiles, and walks over to the passenger door of the car, unlocks it for Tyler, then walks around the back of the car, unlocks the driver side door and sits down into the car. Tyler: Turning around, he noticed that the camp had vanished an in its place was a sign reading 'Delphi Strawberry Co.', and large covered strawberry patches. Opening the door to the car, he was still looking at the illusion created by the Mist, "That explains why those campers were loading up strawberries...or why we even have strawberry patches in the first place...." Karen: Karen fidgets with the seat and the center rear view mirror until she gets them fixed so that she can see, then she starts the car, "Tyler, are you going to get into the car or not?" she lets out a small cackle on accident and then blushes somewhat. Tyler: Karen's laugh brought him back to reality, "Oh, sorry." Climbing into the car, he shut the door and buckled in. Looking around the interior, everything looked well taken care of to the point where Tyler didn't want to touch anything in fear of leaving smudgemarks, "How did Gerald get this car?" The son of Iris was in awe, "I don't think you can just go out and buy this right off the lot." Karen: She backs the car up and begins the drive towards the town, where the mall is located, "The way Gerald tells it, the man that took care of him and his two younger sisters, had it in his garage for a long time, and taught Gerald how to work metal and paint and refurbish things instead of just throwing them away," Karen smiles, her cheeks having faded to their normally rosy color. Tyler: "I wouldn't have expected a son of Dionysus to be good with metal." Tyler mused, but caught himself, "Not that I'm saying children of Dionysus are all about wine and such, I'm sure they all have hobbies, but remodeling cars seems more along the line of Hephaestus's children." He became flustered, trying not to stereotype one group of demigods, only to inadvertanly insult another one. Karen: "Not all of the Heph children are good with metal," Karen smiles, she pulls out onto the highway, and slowly pushes the pedal down, "I think the radio works, if you want to find something you like," she says as she pushes the button on the radio and turns it on. Tyler: Cautiously, Tyler reached out and started to adjust the knob until he found the one that changed the station, "Really? That seems odd since their dad is the god of forges." He turned a bit until he found a classic rock station playing That's All by Genesis. Normally, he preferred musical numbers, but he doubted that there was a station that solely played tracks from 'The Sound of Music' or 'Hello Dolly'. Karen: Karen continues to drive, and somewhat hums along with the music as it plays, "Some of them are okay with metal, others are great, and then you have those of them that don't realize they have the potential to be really good at it, but are too scared," She pauses, then adds, "But what do I know? I'm just the counselor for the Mother of peace," Tyler: He thought for a second, "Well...I would assume being a good negotiator would involve knowing all the sides of a situation. Knowing is half the battle, right?" Looking out the window, he watched the trees pass by, "I was wondering...how'd you have money for town? I don't think drachmas are accepted in mortal stores anymore." Karen: "I draw stuff, and sell it, usually people pay quite well for it," She smiles and continues to drive, "I've painted before, but it doesn't look quite the best, so I just draw things and frame some of them to sell," she says hoping that the answer will suffice for Tyler. Tyler: Hearing that Karen drew piqued his interest, "You draw? Graphite or colored pencil? That explains why you need more drawing paper." The next thing that popped into his head was how he could make some money too, "You think if I were to set up an easel and do charicatures of people, that I could make money that way?" In his head, Tyler was already going over what he'd need to pull this off. But he then remembered why he was going into town with Karen in the first place, the Broken Covenant, "How easily are the Broken Covenant able to pick a demigod out of a crowd?" He hoped that being the child of a minor goddess would cause them to gloss over him. Karen: Karen laughs, and pulls off the highway onto a road that leads towards the mall parking lot, "I don't think you have anything to worry about, at least Broken Covenant wise," Karen pulls into the parking lot and begins the hunt for a parking spot, "I usually use a number 2 pencil," She says half smiling, half concentrated on finding a place to park the car. Karen finds a spot, and parks the car, then she steps out, puts the keys into her bag, locks the door and says, "I think that I might have to see your charicatures before I tell you what you could make money-wise," She smiles. Tyler: "You should consider also trying other B and H pencils." Tyler suggested following her, "It'll allow you to have darker darks and lighter lights." He looked around the town, amazed that it so close to the camp. Tyler had grown up in Jasksonville, so he was used to an urban sprawl. This small, quiet town was a marvel to him; there was no sound of constant traffic, no hustle and bustle, no sense of having to get to a place as fast as you can. It was calming and relaxing to him. "I'm getting used to drawing people, so my charicatures might not be as good as I think. Nove and Jake have given me practice drawing realistic humans right now." Karen: "Other huhm, and whats?" Karen asks, "that's a little much for me, I'm used to just a number two pencil and that's it, but I guess I could try it," Karen walks towards the target store entrance, somewhat slowly though so she can make sure that Tyler keeps up. Tyler: Keeping up with ease, he nods, "When we get back, I can show you what I mean." Once inside the Target, he looks around, "So, what are we getting first? The shower curtain?" Karen: "We'll get the shower curtain in Kohls, Let's get the shampoo and stuff, and we'll have to get the art stuff here as well," She smiles, "Would you like to push the buggy—and if anyone asks, you're my younger brother and we're doing shopping for mom? Got it?" Tyler: "I couldn't think of a better older sister," Tyler replied, playing along and retrieving the cart, Who would stop and ask us if we're related? Tyler thought as he brought the cart to Karen, I think the Target staff as better things to do than randomly stop shoppers to see who they are. He then remembered Ty's advice when in town, which included 'talk to as few people as possible'. Makes sense...I don't talk to them, they don't talk to us. Karen: Karen, almost as if she sensed that Tyler had remembered Ty's words, "Try not to really talk to anyone, the less you say about yourself, the less reason people have reason to question, and above all, never say anything at all about camp," Karen walks into the store, having noticed that Tyler wouldn't really do much lagging behind. "Onward, to the hygiene section of the store!" She says quietly to herself, almost in a tone of "We ride at dawn" voice. Tyler: He gaver Karen a sly smile, "What camp? Are you and 'mom' conspiring to send me away this summer?" it was clear that Tyler knew how to act. |
Inside the Target
Karen: She walks into the store, "Not that much emphasis, 'goofball'," she says, walking further into the store until they make it to the hygiene section. Tyler: Nodding, he realized that he had to tone it down a bit, "So, what exactly did you need to get here?" Tyler flopped over the pushbar of the cart, playing the part of a bored little brother. Karen: "I need, toothpaste, or somethin'" she squints at a bottle of shampoo, then grabs it and sets it into the buggy, "Can't make kissy faces with boys if I haven't brushed my teeth, now can I?" she asks, somewhat in a teasing manner, but mostly joking, she hadn't had a date in a year, and it didn't look like she was going to get one anytime soon either. Karen picks up some toothpaste, drops it into the buggy, then she pauses for a moment... Tyler: Responding to Karen's joking, he mimed a face of disgust, complete with the fake finger-in-mouth gagging he had seen other kids his age do when the topic of kissing came up. Seein her hesitate, Tyler finished the action, giving her a slight tilt of the head in confusion Karen: Karen's stare is focus on a bottle of bodywash in the men's body wash, which is across the buggy, "Tyler, will you hand me the red bottle with the wolves on it?" She asks, pointing to the bottle's general direction on the shelf. Tyler: He turned and saw the bottle she had describing it, he pulled off the shelf and looked it seeing if it was a brand he recognized. Looking at it, he realized it was a bottle of Old Spice, a men's bodywash. He looked up at her, "I don't think many guys like it when their date smells like them...why do you need Old Spice?" Karen: "Because I want to smell it? Duhhhhhh," Karen smiles, and held out her hand so that Tyler could put it into her hand. Tyler: Raisin an eyebrow at her, he handed her the bottle, still rather unclear what could be so interesting about the bottle that she had to have it. Karen: She opens the pop top ont the bottle and goves it a sniff, "Eyick, I thought it'd smell better," Karen then walks over to the womens Olay, grabs a bottle of that, sets it in the cart and holds the old spice out to Tyler, "Put that back on the shelf for me?" she asks. Tyler: Taking the bottle and putting it back, he rolled his eyes playfully, "I could've told you that, there's a reason I don't use this stuff." Karen: "is it becaue you're too young to use scented body wash for men?" Karen teases while smiling as she begins to make the walk towards the art supplies. Tyler: "Clearly." He prefered more fruit-scented body washes, but he wasn't about to tell that to Karen, after all, they were miming siblings. What kind of siblings talked about that when shopping? As they neared the art supplies, he was curious to see what Target had in stock. Karen: She reaches the arts section of the store, she sees a clerk changing tags, so she asks, "Miss, are the prices going up or down? My mother wanted me to get a few things, but didn't want the items if they were expensive," to which the woman replies that everything in arts and crafts is on sale for about anywhere from a quarter off to half off... Tyler: Leaving the cart for a bit, Tyler start to scan the selection of colored pencils. As he expected, the primarily Crayola brands, and one finer-quality brand that was far pricier. Going through his inventory of colors in his head, Tyler noted that the colors he was running low on weren't avalible in the Crayola packs. If he wanted to get them, he'd have to see if the Arts & Crafts Hall could get them for him. Returning to the cart, he asked Karen, "So, what kind of paper did mom want?" Karen: Karen, realizing that Tyler has seen that the pencils aren't quite what he's looking for, "Tyler they're half off, get the more expensive ones, it's not like it's our money, 'tis mom's. Oh, and get me some pencils or whatever it was that your friend told you about, I want to try them," Karen winks, smiling she then grabs the front of the buggy and pulls it over to where the paper is, leaving Tyler with the pencils, while she gets goes to get drawing pads. Tyler: Nodding, he pulled the PrismaColor set of 12 off the hook. He was used to buying one or two colored pencils at a time, but not a pack. He wasn't going to complain though if Karen was going to buy them. Scanning the shelves, he found a small pack of specialized drawing pencils for Karen. "3B...B...HB...H...and 3H. These should be enough to help out her drawings." He then walked out into the main aisleway before going into the next aisle, carefully setting the pencils into the cart, "I'll talk to him to see if he'll come over and show you how to use them." Tyler beamed, "He says it'll make your drawings even better." Karen: "You're such a dork," Karen says accidentally letting out a small giggle, She puts the drawing pads that are in her hands, into the cart, "Now, to buy this stuff, make it back out to the car, and back into the store again to go to Kohls, Cuz there's no telling how long we'll be in there," She says grinning. Tyler: Nodding, Tyler took control of the cart back and started to push it back to the front, "Don't think shower curtain shopping will take that long, will it?" Karen: "Depends on whether or not I get sucked into shopping for clothing," Karen smiles somewhat shyly as, what she would consider a cute guy, walks by them as they walk to the front. Karen immediately walks towards an open register, then waits for Tyler so she can start unloading the buggy. Tyler: Unloading the cart he smiled at Karen, "I'll have to make sure I don't let you by the clothes then." He chuckled and smiled sweetly to the cashier, trying to minimize conversation when around people." Karen: Karen starts to unload the buggy, then walks up to the cashier and stares at the price tag as it reaches $45 then $55 and stops at $55.60, "I hate change, urgh," Karen says in disgust, but pays the clerk with a fifty, a five, and a one, accepting the change after everything is purchased. She then grabs the one bag that everything fit into, and makes a windmill motion with her arm for Tyler to come with her. Tyler: Waving goodbye to the cashier, he followed after Karen, making sure to get the doors open ahead of her, "So after Khols and the shower curtain, where we heading?" Tyler was keeping track with of all the stores they had passed in case he ever did need something from town. Karen: Karen continues to walk towards the car, shopping bag in hand, she pulls the keys out of her pack pocket, and keeps walking, "Well, we might go get food, because I'm kinda hungry, besides, everybody should get to see the town's food court." Tyler: Racing a bit a head of her, Tyler raised an eyebrow, "Now you got me curious...you make it sound like it rivals the dining pavilian." Karen: "But it is wonderful, it might, I dunno, I'll let you be the judge of it for yourself, but I try to come and eat here when I peddle my drawings," Karen says as she reaches the car, opening the back trunk and placing the bag inside. Now she closes the trunk and asks, "Ready to head into Kohls?" |
Into Kohls
Tyler: "Yep!" He smiled as he climbed into the car, "Peddle is such a low word....makes you sound like you're a street begger." Tyler attempted to raise her spirits, "My dad said that when he was starting to sell his work, he was bartering. Makes you feel more confident about you work." Karen: "What are you doing silly-head? Kohls is like right there," Karen points in front of the car and towards the Kohls' sign in the parking lot, which also pointed towards the entrance to the store, Karen makes sure the trunk is locked, and starts to walk towards the Kohls' entrance. Tyler: Turning his head, he saw the giant 'Kohls' sign, "Oh....." Clearly Tyler was still getting his bearing in the city. Hopping out he re-joined Karen, "So, how do I keep you from getting lost in clothes shopping?" Karen: "Pray to whatever gods," she winks, "there may be, that I don't get stuck looking at bras or underwear," She says, knowing full well that the only reason she was going to Kohls to get the shower curtain was so that she could look at a dress or two she had found online. Tyler: He made the 'disguted ten-year-old' face again, "You wouldn't dare drag me with you to go look at those." He didn't have to try too hard to fake that, he avoided that section of stores like the plague. To him, you don't put underwear on public display, even if you're buying them, "Do that, and I'm telling mom." Karen: Karen gives a short giggle at this, "We might look at dresses too," she winks, she steps onto the door mat and the entrance to the store opens. Karen walks in and points at a mini buggy for Tyler to acquire. Tyler: He rolled his eyes, "Is the only reason you made me come in here with you is to push the cart?" He brought the cart to her and prepares to begrudginly push it for her, "Is there anything in here for me to do while you shop for not-shower-curtains?" Karen: "Maybe," She smiles, "Besides, you'll be glad you came—if you want you can look at the not fully grown people's clothes on the other side of the store—or you could come with me, safety in numbers, and I'll go with you after I get done, because I know what I want, I just have to try it on," She smiles. Tyler: Muttering under his breath, he followed Karen, "I'm only doing it to be safe..." This was his first time in town after all, and he didn't know how many Broken Covenant member walked the streets. "I do want to look at scarves though...." He'd been trying to make his rainbow objects clothlike so that he could make himself a scarf, but the closest he had gotten was a sheet of rainbow with the flexiblity of cardstock. He figured that if he could feel the material in his hands for a bit, he could then visualize later. Karen: Karen walks towards the dresses, "That's fine," She smiles, then her face sets to a frown when she sees Zora, Zora was taller and much more fit than Zaken had described her, which scared her somewhat, because she didn't know what Zora was capable of. "Detour," Karen walks through the women's bra/panties section in order to get to the womens clothes without having to walk directly by Zora. Tyler: He was baffled why they weren't going directly there, but didn't question as per Ty's rules. When he saw that she was pulling him through the bra/panties section, Tyler cringed, "I thought you weren't gonna make me go through here." He complained, keeping up his act. Karen: She doesn't say anything but walks through and around to the women's clothing section, keeping close tabs on Tyler to make sure he's okay. Tyler: When Karen didn't return the act, he starts to worry. Detour...what could get Karen so worked up that she-" it then dawned on him, Broken Covenant? No...no...no... Tyler grips the cart for dear life as he keeps the cart close to her, not wanting to get lost or left behind. Karen: skips the dresses, and turns into the the boys section of the store, "Scarves are over here," She says without smiling, a bit of discord was evident in her eyes and in the way her lips had firmly pulled away from their usual smile. Tyler: Nodding he goes over to the scarves and starts to feel the cloth between his fingers, commiting the feel and attributes of the cloth to his mind. After a bit he hangs the cloth back up and pulls a sheet of paper from his bag and quickly scrawls on it 'Broken Covenant?' Returning to Karen, Tyler forces a smile at her and sets the paper in he children's seat of the cart for her to see. Karen: Karen grabs the piece of paper and crumples it up, handing it back to Tyler, "Somewhat, you can speak you know, it's not as bad as you think, just one of them, hopefully," Tyler: "Prepare for the worse, hope for the best," Tyler replied, stashing the crumpled paper into his bag, "Did she see you?" Tyler knew that if a Broken Covenant member were to have spotted them, they would've noticed Karen, not him. Tyler was already looking for an exit if they needed one. Karen: "Nah, doesn't matter if she did, Zora won't recognize me, Zaken didn't know any of us when he was dating her, so we're fine, just don't say his name to much or she'll know we know him, then we will have trouble," Karen says calmly, "But I saw this really cute set of bra and panties, and we might just have to go back and see if they have them in light yellow and pink," She smiles an easy, laid back smile now. Tyler: He took note of the name, and had to stop himself from making a video game joke, which was easy when Karen mentioned wanting to go back tot he bra/panties section. "Really? We gotta go back there again?" the line between acting and reality was really starting blur with that line. Karen: "Yes we have to actually go back, and if you keep complaining, I'll make you watch me put them on," Karen furls her eyebrows at Tyler, raising one, insinuating a "try me" look. She says as she starts walking back towards that section. Tyler: His expression went from one of disgust to sheer terror, "Shutting up now." In silent terror he pushed the cart after her, holdinging his tongue. Karen: She walks directly to the pair she wants, leafs through a few of them until she finds the size and color she wants, and then walks towards the dressing room. Tyler: Begrudgingly parking the cart outside the dressing rooms, he sat against the wall and pulled out his sketch pad and starts to do a sketch of Jake shooting an arrow so he can show Karen when she's done changing. I'm sure I can get a fair amount of money for each drawing.... Karen: She comes out, quite happy with the undergarments, and hangs them on the edge of the buggy, "Let's get outa here before in case that girl shows up again," she says to the buggy, not having seen Tyler sitting on the ground. Tyler: Looking up to her he coughed to get her attention, "Down here Karen..." tucking his sketch pad away, he stood back up and went back to his position on the handle of the cart, "Aye Aye Skipper." He started to push the cart for the cashiers. Karen: She walks alongside Tyler, then ahead of him to one of the two cash registers, noting that in fact, that Zora, who has on a blue over coat, and black jeans is at the counter behind them, Karen doesn't even nudge Tyler, hoping that he sees her on his own and just acts normal. Tyler: Steering the cart into to the other lane, Tyler takes a quick glance at the person in the other lane and recognizes her as the woman that Karen wanted to avoid. Staying silent, waits for Karen to check out before puting the cart away. Karen: Karen grabs the bag, and walks towards the exit to the building, past Zora, who stands a the cash register debating with the cashier that she does not in fact need a kohls charge. Karen however walks out the entrance and begins to quickly walk towards the car, "SHOOT!" she says. "I forgot shower curtains," she says while face-palming, "Damnit," she mutters under her breath. Tyler: Tyler looks at her, "Well if you didn't keep dragging me through the underwear section, I might have remembered..." He tries to keep the act up, but it's clear that he's nervous due to the fact a Broken Covenant member is merely yards away. Karen: She sighs, not having a retort or anything for Tyler's comments, "let's go get a late lunch," Karen continues to walk towards the car, "We'll drive around to the other side of the mall and park there, since the food court is on that side anyways," Tyler: Nodding, Tyler keeps walking, stealing a glance back to make sure they aren't being followed. Dropping the act, he looks back fo Karen, "We will be coming back for the shower curtain....right?" Tyler felt a bit guilty about forgetting to remind Karen about it. Karen: "Mmm, nah, I think, that I'll just get one some other time, or send one of the guys to come and get one... With a picture of what they're supposed to get," She smiles, continuing to walk towards the car. Tyler: Tyler laughed a bit, "So...who was that back there?" Clearly Karen knew her, but he didn't know how much of a threat she posed. Karen: "That, was Zora, Zaken's girlfriend," Karen sighs, "You thought Zaken was scary, from what Zaken tells, she's worse than he is and can almost practically sense when someone is a demigod, even though she's only a child of Boreas," Karen says somewhat doubtfully as she walks around the car and to the back of it. Tyler: Going to the passenger's door, he kept stealing glances at the entrance, expecting Zora to come charging out after them, "Then how did she not find us? Two of us together must've given of some kind of sign...." Karen: "I don't know, you'd have to ask Zaken, and he wouldn't want to speculate any on it," Karen says as she opens the trunk of the car and puts the Kohls bag in. She then closes the trunk, unlocks the driver side door, sits down into the car, leans over, unlocks the passenger side door, closes hers and turns the car on. Tyler: Getting in, Tyler wanted to get as far away from Khols as possible, "So lunch, then where?" He was still a bit scared about being that close to a Broken Covenant member. |
To lunch
Karen: She backs out of the parking spot, "we could go to the China Wok, Panera Bread, Tropical Smoothie, or Olive Garden?" She asks as she drives towards the other side of the mall.
Tyler: Finally starting to relax, he thinks the choices over, "Haven't had chinese in a while." He looks over to her, "Which one is your favorite?"
Karen: "I pretty much always eat at Tropical Smoothie when I come up here once every two weeks to sell my art," She smiles, the decides to add, "I drew a lot of stuff so that I would have a selection for people to select from, and I don't always sell everything," Karen says, thinking about the fact that she'll be back up to the town in a few days to sell her drawings.
Tyler: "During lunch, how about I show you what I can do in terms of drawings?" Tyler suggests, fidgeting with his bag containing his sketchbook, "I started a sketch back at Kohls, and could finish it during lunch."
Karen: "That works," She smiles and parks the car into a parking spot at the front of the building. Karen turns off the car, opens the door, climbs out, locks the door and closes it. "Mmm, food sounds so good right about now," she says happily.
Tyler: Getting out, he sniffs and smells the beautiful smell of various fast foods, "I've missed this smell...."
Karen: "Fast food is something I've learned not to miss, which is why I eat at Tropical Smoothie, it's, somewhat healthy," Karen smiles as she starts to walk towards the entrance to the mall food court.
Tyler: "It's more the smell, not the actual food." Tyle comments, "We used to have great restaruants near my dad's studio. It was a beautiful smell." He smiles remembering the happy memory
Karen: Karen reaches the entrance to the food court, she opens the door and walks in, then holds the door open for Tyler to walk in. "I love the smell of french fries, but if I smell it, I want to eat them, so I try to stick to healthy stuff," Karen says smiling.
Tyler: He smiled, "Maybe there's someone who could make you a cologne you could get a boyfriend of yours to wear." Tyler tried to think who in camp would be good with that, but was drawing blanks.
Karen: "A boyfriend that smelled like french fries?" She giggles, "I'd have to get a boyfriend first," Karen says as she lets go of the door and walks towards the food court's open area.
Tyler: "I'm sure there are plenty of boys your age who are nice," Tyler tries to convince. While technically they weren't in a store, he still tried to avoid directly mentioning camp to stay on the safe side.
Karen: "Are you an expert on the subject?" Karen asks with a laugh, she then pulls a twenty out of her wallet, "Here, take this and go get Chinese for yourself, I'll meet you at a table somewhere in here if I finish first, okay?" Karen informs, holding out the 20 dollar bill to Tyler.
Tyler: "No...but I'm sure there are." Tyler says, thinking of the friends he had made. Nodding he heads off to the China Wok. Waiting in line, he looked the menu over and decided that he should he could get a 'beef and mushroom' quart for a good price. Some for now, some for later. Eventually getting to the counter, he order and recieved his change. Waiting for his meal, he pulled out his sketchpad and went back to work on his drawing of Jacob firing an arrow.
Karen: Karen walks to the Tropical Smoothie, orders a club sandwhich and her usual, pineapple and oranges smoothie, when her food is ready she acquires it and walks over to a table which is near the china wok, so that Tyler won't have to walk far.
Tyler: Taking his meal, he looks around and sees Karen at a nearby table. Walking over, he sets his larger serving of beef & mushrooms down with the sketchpad facing up for her to see the nearly finished sketch. Handing her the change, he smiles, "Thank you for lunch."
Karen: Karen motions for Tyler to set the change on the table, as she has her sandwich in her hand, and doesn't want to touch the change at the moment, "You're welcome," She says happily.
Tyler: Starting to eat his meal, he spins his sketchbook around to show Karen what he'd been working on, "It's not exactly a charicature, but I think I could do on-site portraits." He's proud of his work and hopes that Karen likes it.
Karen: She frowns, "He looks angry," Karen says somewhat concerned, "Is there a reason why he looks angry?" She asks as she sets down her sandwhich, and reaches down under the table for her bag.
Tyler: Looking down, he realizes what she means, "Oh...I guess with-" he looks around, "them around, I guess I wanted some extra protection...I trust Jake." He hadn't meant to draw the son of Eros in anger, but the idea that Jake was looking out for him comforted him.
Karen: She smiles, "People in town like happy, and pretty things," Karen pulls her little handbook out of her bag, and sets it on the table, opening it to one of her small, neatly drawn images which she would take later and blow up on the computer with editing software. "See the dog?" she giggles slightly, "he's smiling,"
Tyler: He took note, "I guess I need to make myself feel a bit more comfortable in town I guess." He admired the picture of the dog, "Once I start to feel safe, I think my art will follow suit." He looked at the picture a bit more, "Is that your dog, Shadow?"
Karen: "Yeah," She continues to smile, "that was when he was a puppy," Karen leaves the notebook on the table, picks up her sandwich and takes another bite, "I think that making a happy drawing is about," She pauses, "is about being happy; when I was younger I could only draw things that looked sad."
Tyler: He looked at his own drawing, "But...but I'm not angry." He didn't understand, "I'm happy I'm at camp. Sure, I'm scared occasionally, but I know that I have you, Jake, Jacob and a few others if things go bad." As he thought about this, he worried a bit about his dad being alone. Did he miss him?
Karen: "Oh don't be so glum," She giggles somewhat, "Drawings are all about how we feel about that person or thing, or emotions about other things only impede our ability to create our feelings about that person or thing," Karen says, then takes another bite of her sandwich.
Tyler: "But I said that I'm not angry, so why am I drawing like this?"
Karen: "That's a good question, too which, I don't have an answer," She frowns, picks up her note book and puts it into her bag, then she hums and a smile returns to her face.
Tyler: Putting his away too, he went back to his meal, "Sounds like I need to talk to a therapist or someone..." He looks at her, "You know anyone who could help with that?" Tyler didn't want to be an angry artist.
Karen: "Silly, you're talking to a child of Harmonia," She giggles, "Something has been eating at you, and it's turning into a dark rainy cloud in here," Karen pokes a finger at Tyler's chest on the side his heart is on, "And you need to be at peace with that rain cloud before you can draw happy things," She smiles and picks up the second half of her sandwich and takes a bite.
Tyler: He looked down at his heart and then at Karen, tilting his head. He thought that he understood what she was saying, but the didn't quite know exactly what she meant. Dark rain cloud? What does that mean? He goes to work on the remaining chinese. "So, where we heading next?"
Karen: She holders her sandwhich in one hand, then picks up her smoothie and takes a long drink from it, "I dunno, where do you want to go?" Karen asks with a smile.
Tyler: Finishing up the first portion of Chinese, he placed the other takeout container into his bag. He thought if there was anything that he wanted that wasn't art-related. "Well...I've been thinking about trying to get a pair of rollerblades," Tyler muses, "I would see if Hephaestus cabin would make me a pair, but I think they'd wind up with flamethrowers and rockets attatched to them."
Karen: "Well, we could go to Target again, but there's a rollerskating rink up the street from here, we could go to that if you wanted?" Karen asks, then takes another bite out of her sandwich.
Tyler: He thought about it, "Well, I guess it'd let me practice before I actually get them." He thought a bit more, "Do the sell skates there?"
Karen: "I think so—I still have to pick mine up," She frowns, "I left mine up there last time I was there, and had to phone the rink to tell them to hold onto them for me," Karen says with a short sigh as she finishes off the last portion of her sandwich.
Tyler: He nodded, "Well, even if they don't at least we have a reason to stop in." Tyler was kind of excited to go. He'd skated a few times before, but he wasn't that good at it, so he was eager to learn.
Karen: "D'oh," She chuckles slightly, "Now I remember why I left them up there, one of the wheels came loose and they have a 'shop' that fixes and sells skates, and I called to see if they were fixed," Karen says as she grabs her trash and throws it away in the trash can that's practically right behind her. She then grabs her smoothie cup, stands up and stretches a little.
Tyler: Making sure that his other serving is secure, he stands up and takes care of his trash, "To the roller rink then?"
Karen: "Yeah, to the roller rink!" she grabs her bag and slings it over her shoulder, "Ready to go?"
Tyler: "Yep!" He was eager to get a pair of blades.
Karen: She pulls the car keys out of her bag, and begins to walk towards the exit that leads to the parking lot where the car is, "So, do you have in mind what kind of rollerblades you want?" Karen asks, unsure if she would be able to help Tyler pick out a pair of skates or not.
Tyler: "There are different kinds? I just thought that there skates where there are two rows of wheels and blades with one." He asked as he followed.
Karen: She continues to walk, "Well I think there's like speed skates and grippy skates and like dance skates or something, we'll have to ask when we get there." She frowns as she's displeased with not knowing something that she should know.
Tyler: "I was hoping for speed." He suggests, "Mom is a messenger goddess, so being light on my feet would be beneficial."
Karen: She walks out of the mall door, and out into the parking lot, "Then you want grippy wheels so that you don't lose traction while you zoom around," Karen laughs and continues to walk towards the car.
Tyler: "I'll keep that in mind then." He says as he follows.
Karen: Karen reaches the car, unlocks her door, sits down into the car, reaches over and unlocks the passenger side for Tyler, closing the door behind her.
Tyler: Tyler gets in, and smiles, excited to go to the roller rink.
Karen: She starts the car and backs out of the parking spot, "So, do you want colors on your skates?" she laughs, "You know they can do colored wheels even!" Karen now puts the car into drive and starts to drive towards the skating rink.
Tyler: "I dunno...could I get each of the wheels to be different colors?"
Karen: "Kinda like a rainbow?" Karen asks, as she continues to drive.
Tyler: He nods, "Yeah, I think that if the boots are black and the wheels are vibrant, it'd be really cool."
Karen: "Why not white? Like a cloud?" She asks, still driving.
Tyler: He thinks, "That's a good point. I think I might have to go with that."
Karen: She pulls the car off the road and into a parking lot, the sign on the side of the building says "Galaxy Skateway". Karen parks the car and turns it off, "Ready to get some skates?" she asks happily.
Tyler: "Yep!" He beams again as he opens the door and exits.
The Roller Rink
Karen: Karen walks up to the front door of the building, grabs the heavy handle and pulls it open for Tyler to walk in.
Tyler: He nods thanks to Karen as he enters and looks around as his ears are filled with pop music. He stands inside the doorway for Karen to lead the way, he didn't want to run into any more people who Karen knew bad things about.
Karen: Karen steps in, walks up to the counter and hands the person behind the glass 14 dollars, she points towards the door that leads towards the skating rink, "You owe me seven bucks and three weeks worth of skating in the skates I'm getting you," she jokes with a smile.
Tyler: He smiles back, "Deal. Looks like I'll have to sell a few sketches in town then." He walks in and looks around the actual skate rink, wondering where he'd buy his skates.
Karen: "Tyler, I was kidding," she laughs as she walks around the side, just behind the wall that blocked their view as they walked in. Karen points towards the glass window with the words "Skate Shop" painted on it, she grabs the door and opens it, again letting Tyler go first.
Tyler: As he goes the door, he shakes his head, "You've already treated me a lot today...I should owe you something. I could do a drawing of you if you'd want. We could be even then."
Karen: "Tyler, do you know what a gift is?" she asks, and one of the girls in the shop looks up, says Karen's name happily and then points to a pair of skates on the counter and tells her they're ready to go and be skated with again. Karen points to Tyler and the shop girl walks over.
Shop Girl: "Hai, what can I help you with, young man?" the girl asks politely.
Tyler: Deciding to let the topic drop, Tyler decided to make Karen a drawing anyway as a gift to her. Looking up to the shop girl he smiled, "I would like to get a pair of roller blades."
Shop Girl: "Any idea what you want or want them to look like?" the girl nods at Karen.
Karen: She picks up her skates and walks towards the rink, pulling off her shoes and putting on the skates she stands, spins in a circle and then skates onto the floor, which at this early of an hour, is almost void of people.
Tyler: The son of Iris describes the skate design that he and Karen had discussed in the car.
Shop girl: She looks about the shop, then asks Tyler what size shoe he wears and if he wants to try a pair of skates before she puts the colored wheels on them.
Tyler: "I think I wear a size 7" Tyler says, excited to get his skates.
Shop Girl: She gets down a pair of skates with white boots, and hands them to Tyler, "Go try those out on the floor and tell me what you think," she says, then turns and walks behind the bar to look for colored wheels.
Tyler: He slides the skates on and tightens them. Carefully rolling out to the rink, he steps on and starts to carefully skate. He was able to keep his balance and steer, but when he tries to speed up, the son of Iris looses a bit of control.
Karen: Karen skates by Tyler, but doesn't zoom past him, instead she passes him and gracefully turns around and skates backwards, carving inward from the sides to up her momentum as she slows down to be a couple feet in-front of Tyler, "You're kinda wobbly," Karen grins, "Want to try and follow me and learn a trick or two?"
Tyler: He slows back down and re-gains his balance, "It's just when I speed up." He keeps following her, "Okay, whatcha got up your sleeve?"
Karen: "Up my sleeve?" She laughs, and turns sideways, and skates rolls around the turn with her heels together and the skates facing opposite directions, then does a spinning pirouette out of the stance and goes back to skating backwards. "How's that?" She asks.
Tyler: He nods, "Impressive...." He wasn't sure if he could pull that move off himself, but he slowly began to spin in place, careful not to fall.
Karen: She stands on the back wheels of one skate, and the front wheels of another, spinning in a circle, then slowly bends her knees and lifts one skate off the ground, leaving herself on the front wheels of one skate. Karen then stands up, "Lots of practice," she smiles warmly.
Tyler: Finishing off the spin, he starts to skate again, a bit more steady as he glides around the rink, "I think I'm getting the hang of this!" He smiles as he does a few large circles around Karen.
Karen: She giggles, then begins to skate backwards again, "You'll get better at it with practice!"

A meeting of fate
Zaken: Zaken steps out of the Nyx cabin, he was ready, oh so ready, he was going to ask Scarlett if she wanted to go to the Spring fair.
Jessica: The daughter of Mnemosyne had been up early to get a copy of the daily paper from the Big House. Sure, it was yesterday's paper, but she wasn't interested in the articles. Instead, she got to work on the crossword. Jessica hadn't even waited to get back to her cabin to start working on it, instead, she was muttering to herself as she held the paper in front of her face as she walked.
Zaken: He continues to walk, and as he walks by Jessica, he grabs a corner of the newspaper and tugs ever so lightly in an attempt to snatch the whole thing out of her hand and then continue walking forwards like it didn't happen.
Jessica: The paper being pulled from her grasp caused her pen to tear into the paper. "Hey!" Jessica calls to the guy who was walking off with her paper, "I'm not done with that!"
Zaken: Zaken turns around, and folds the paper as he holds it out to her, "Sorry, figured you could use a slight of hand trick to enlighten your day,"
Jessica: She shook her head, "It's okay, I had already solved it in my head." She looked at the pen in her hand, "Sorry that I had to ruin the fun for you though." She looked up at him, "Oh, I'm Jessica, Mnemosyne child."
Zaken: Zaken grabs a corner of the newspaper from under his palm, and pulls the paper into a funnel, "eh?" he asks, indicating she should look at the funnel.
Jessica: She peeked into her end of the funnel to see what he was doing.
Zaken: Zaken pinches the funnel at the top, closing it off, and then twists it, then peels the bottom out and it unfolds into a rose-like flower. With that, Zaken takes a step back on one foot and bows holding out the flower to Jessica and holds out his other arm in a dramatic pose.
Jessica: She giggles a bit before taking the paper flower and miming a curtsy, "Why thank you. I don't think I got your name though."
Zaken: "Zaken, son of the mother of the shadows of night," Zaken stands up straight, "Care to go for a walk to town—I'll show you a real puzzle?" Zaken asks with a grin.
Jessica:' She gave him a sly grin, "My father is a code-breaker at the NSA. Solving puzzles is second nature to me. Lead the way Zaken." If this older camper had a puzzle that needed solving, she was eager to show that she wasn't just some bookworm.
Zaken: "I'm sure I could show your father a thing or two," He laughs, knowing that the NSA worker might be a bit better than he was, but most likely wouldn't be able to match his speed at figuring out complex algorithms. Zaken holds out his hand, "Want to shadow travel?"
Jessica: "Shadow travel?" the daughter of Mnemosyne asked, a bit confused. She knew that some demigods could teleport thanks to their powers, but the idea of being able to teleport a person with them?
Zaken: He nods his head towards his hand, "Take my hand and I'll show you," Zaken smiles haphazardly, an odd smile for him as he knows exactly where he's going to take her, and she has no clue.
Jessica: She cautiously takes his hand, "Okay...."
Zaken: Zaken shadow travels them far past the town, far, far past the town, and to a maze and puzzle convention being held in Pennsylvania, when the shadow travel stops, Zaken moans, "That... was too... damn... far for two... people..." he shakes off Jessica's hand and tries to compose himself.
Jessica: Jessica herself was a bit woozy from the travel, "W...where are we?" She looks and sees the puzzle convention, "How'd you know about this place?"
Zaken: "A magician, never gives away his secrets," Zaken says with a grin that's mixed between macabre and mischievous, Zaken then pulls out his wallet, and holds out to Jessica a wad of cash, (about $300), "Buy whatever you want, just, don't ask for more; I need to go talk to someone, I'll see you in a couple a minutes or so," He says with a smile.
Jessica: She takes the money and looks at it in awe, before looking at Zaken, "Thank you...I'll be inside waiting." She smiles at him and goes into the convention center. This is far to good to be true, She thinks to herself, First I meet a nice guy, then somehow he knows what I like, takes me to a convention for it, then he gives me money. I hardly know this guy, but it's like he's known me for years.
Zaken: Zaken now shadow travels, he travels inside of the convention and appears behind a booth where a friend is waiting for him, they talk, and the friend hands Zaken a ziplock baggie filled payment for a debt owed to Zaken. Zaken then shadow travels right behind Jessica, "boo," he scares with a laugh.
Jessica: Jessica jumps a bit, "Oh, there you are. Did you meet with your friends?"
Zaken: "Yeah, and he finally paid off his debt, so I'm 6,000 dollars the richer." Zaken laughs, "God I love interest,"
Jessica: She looks at the money in her hands, "Is there interest on this cash? If so, I think it's better off in your hands." She smiles to Zaken.
Zaken: "Hurtful, really; gifts incur no interest nor do they require return of payment," His macabre grin comes back slightly.
Jessica: Sorry, it's just that this has all been too good to be true." Jessica explains, "I'm just waiting for the other shoe to drop."
Zaken: Zaken makes a shoe of shadows, and lets it fall to the ground, "Is that good enough?" he says, making the shoe disappear shortly after it smacks against the ground.
Jessica: Jessica can't help but laugh at it, "It sure is. Let's see what else there is here, come on!"
Zaken: "Sure you can," Zaken says as he shadow travels away, leaving Jessica alone at the fair as he goes back to camp to deposit the money he's just received.
Jessica: Wandering through the expo, she for fun slips into a mirror maze to see how fast she can get out. 'Zaken's a really nice guy...I wonder what he sees in me though...'
Zaken: Zaken deposits the money into his fund, Scarlet would be so happy to know that Zaken planned on taking her shopping soon.
Jessica: After a bit, Jessica admits to herself that she is lost in the maze. "Should've stuck with words..." she mused as she pressed against a mirror, turning around.
Zaken: He suddenly shadow travels into the maze, his appearance refracting and reflecting off of multiple mirrors, as he hopes to add to Jessica's confusion and bewilderment in this mirror maze.

Javan ~ Panther Warden | ||||||||
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
"Stalking the prey is half the fun.” |

Dark friends?
Zaken: It's dark out at this point in the woods, Zaken can barely see the moon, the frogs are croaking and crickets are chirping, it's cold enough that the mosquitoes are not out buzzing around, so Zaken walks, he's following a few campers that has caused problems for Karen, they would certainly remember not to mess with her again after Zaken was through with them. He kept to the shadows as he moved, slowly stalking behind the few, ready to make the rest of their night a "fun" trip.
Javan: The last demigod that the Panther Warden had ambushed had been an older Harmonia girl. He had followed her, staying to the bushes before ambushing her with a few foam darts. She had sounded annoyed, but Javan didn't think it too serious. Currently, he was walking back to the Nymph Sanctuary for some shut eye.
Zaken: Zaken steps out of the woods, onto the path, and now picks up his pace, quickly closing in on Javan.
Javan: As he gets closer, he hears the sound of footsteps picking up behind him. Turning into his panther form, he leaps into the woods and quietly waits to see who's coming after him.
Zaken: Having seen Javan jump, he shadow travels a few yards behind the area he thought Javan would be, knowing that the black shape was most likely the person he had been following. Upon seeing the black figure, he puts a hand on his sword, "Explain yourself," Zaken says as he pulls out his sword and swings it in a circle so that its ash trail makes a wall in between him and Javan.
Javan: He snarls a bit, the feline eye glaring at him, as if saying: I don't have to answer to you.
Zaken: Zaken shadow travels again, this time onto the path where he saw Javan leap into the woods, and waves his sword making another wall of ash, "Don't bite the hand that feeds you, for the smiting hand that feedeth you not, shall be your reward for staunch sins," Zaken says as he shadow travels again, this time to the side of Javan, making another ash wall.
Javan: Showing his teeth, Javan extended his claws into the earth. I don't need to bite to get you to leave me alone. His snarling increased in volume, waiting for the demigod to make the first move.
Zaken: Zaken steps into the line of site of the panther, "Does not the hand that feeds create the discipline of that which it hath enmity, doth the hand really love that which hath been created—Panther Spawn, you will be punished for your deeds if you keep this state, slaying you will be easier than dispatching a human... Nymph."
Javan: He shifts back into a human, but still glares at the person, "Enough with the dramatics. Doesn't become you."
Zaken: "Neither do your actions regarding a particular Harmonia Counsellor," Zaken scoffs coldly, "You severely hurt her feelings, and that IS extremely hard to do, so kudos to you, @sshole," Zaken sheathes his sword, "We can do this the easy way, and you go apologize to her, or I can drag you to her and make you apologize," Zaken raises an eyebrow, his voice catching a frostier tone, "Your choice."
Javan: He realizes that the last demigod he ambushed was a cabin counselor. "It was just a few NERF darts. If it makes you feel better, I'll apologize." His tone was still hard, mainly since he was tired and wanted to go to sleep. If apologizing to her meant he'd be able to go to sleep in one piece, the well be it.
Zaken: Zaken immediately gets pissed, which is hard for him, "No you need to make her feel better, not me, and if you're an ass to her, mmmmm Just apologize, and mean it," Zaken pauses, exhales lightly, "A previously abused person will take the slightest thing similar to abuse or bullying, and will be stuck on it until they get depressed, or kill themselves because they can't get over it..." Zaken simply looks at Javan, not glaring, not scowling, his face is set in a non-chalant, casual slight smirk.
Javan: Guilt racks him when the demigod explains that the girl he had shot foam darts at had been an abuse victim. "Woah, woah, woah; I was just trying to have some fun. Most of the other demigods don't mind when they get shot with the foam darts. It's not like I was specifically targeting her." the last thing Javan needed was a person to kill themselves over something he did.
Zaken: "Then just apologize for her sake, not mine, because quite frankly, I understand having fun, I do that from time to time, but I don't just run off without explaining my fun or apologizing if I ever push to far," Zaken shrugs, "We can shadow travel there, and then I'll take you to get food if you want, because Karen is going to be a sob story and really really awkward after you apologize to her.... foam darts are fun," Zaken winks, and gives a small chuckle.
Javan: He didn't understand how the guy could be chuckling, Javan was just told that he may have pushed a girl over the edge and he was laughing? "What are you waiting for, let's go!" Javan's tone was a combination of guilt and panic.
Zaken: Zaken puts his hand on Javan's shoulder and shadow travels them inside of the clean, neatly organized, well laid out living room/lobby area of the Harmonia cabin, he lets go of Javan's shoulder, and gives the panther nymph a moment in case he needs to collect himself.
Javan: The Panther Warden steadies himself and looks around. Assuming he's in the Harmonica cabin, he calls out, "Um...is the counselor in? I'm really sorry for shooting those NERF darts at you...honestly, I didn't know about what you went through. If I had known, I wouldn't have done it, honest!" He was more pleading than apologizing.
Karen: Karen opens the door to her room, her hair is a mess, and she looks like she just woke up, "Why are we yell--oh," She sees Javan and tears come pouring out, her face is red from crying herself to sleep, and her eyes are bloodshot and her nose is stuffy, she even has a box of tissues in her hand.
Zaken: Zaken stands there, somewhat uncomfortable because he doesn't often deal with people that cry over nerf darts, but nods towards Javan and mouths Better work some magic or you'll regret this one on your own.
Javan: He hung his head in shame, "I came to apologize...I didn't know how you would take it. If I had known that, I would have never of shot those darts at you." Grief enveloped him, "I will do anything to make it up to you, just...please, accept my apology."
Karen: she looks at him, and her lip trembles, "YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT IT WAS LIKE—" and she turns around and sobs, "sure, just, just leave me alone and don't come back," She picks up a coaster off of the nearby end table and throws it at Javan, and then quickly scampers back into her room, locking the door behind her...
Javan: He lets the coaster hit him in his head, flinching in pain. "She is right...I don't know." He falls to the floor sitting, a small trickle of blood coming from his forehead, "Maybe I should just respect her wishes and leave."
Zaken: "Eh, let's just go get food and forget this happened," Zaken looks at the door then back at Javan, then in a hushed tone says, "She can be a real bitch when it comes to stuff like this, but she'll feel bad about it in a day or two, just wait, she'll be trying to hunt you down to apologize to you for the coaster," Then Zaken walks towards Javan, puts a hand on his shoulder and shadow travels them to a Subway. "Hope you like Subway,"
Javan: He holds his hand to his forehead to stem the bleeding, "Yeah, just don't expect me to have a veggie sub." He sighs a bit as he starts towards the door, "Maybe I should retire the NERF guns for now. Last two people I fired them at reacted poorly, only good thing that came out of it was that I got a date out of the other girl. She took it far better than your friend."
Zaken: "Eh, I wouldn't worry about it, just, get better at sizing up a target before you acquire'n'fire," Zaken points at the glass, "Pick what you want, 6 inch or 12inch, doesn't matter to me,"
Javan: He looks at the menu, "Eh, I'll take a six-inch," Javan shrugs, "It'll make a nice midnight snack."
Zaken: "Sounds reasonable; go ahead and order and I'll order behind you and pay," Zaken pulls out his wallet and thumbs one of the leather flaps on the bifold wallet.
Javan: Going up to the counter, he orders a six inch Subway Club and has the sandwich artist do her job, waiting for Zaken to order.
Zaken: He orders a foot-long and then pays for both sandwhiches and two cokes, "Ready to eat?" he asks Javan with a smirk.
Javan: "Yep," He sits at a nearby table, waiting for his sandwich, "So, how did you meet Karen?"
Zaken: He grabs both of the sandwhiches from the woman at the counter after paying for them, then walks to the far end of the store, beckoning for Javan to follow.
Javan: Following, he understands the need for secrecy, not every person in town was a demigod.
Zaken: Zaken sits down, "I wouldn't worry about her, she's a mess; how has life at camp been, Panther spirit?" Zaken asks, not questioning the type of entity, for he certainly knew what it was, but questioned more the feelings at hand.
