  2. Children of Iris have the ability to focus an intense beam of prismatic light which will burn anything it touches.

  1. Children of Iris are able to create a protective dome of rainbows for a short time.
  2. Children of Iris have the ability to conjure a large orb made of pure rainbows around an opponent. The orb would successfully imprison an opponent for a short time. The orb is quite durable, but could be broken through with sufficient force. The orb cannot be teleported out of. The target cannot be attacked while the orb is in place, so the power is purely defensive. It can only be used twice in a battle.

6 Months After Character is Made

  1. Children of Iris are able to create up to 3 semi-living constructs out of pure rainbows to fight for them for a short time, the constructs can be no larger than 2 to 3 times the size of the user. Roleplay - Dining Pavillion

Santos: It's the day after Santos has arrived at camp and everyone's arrived at the dining pavillion. He's a loud presence, chatting with the rest of his cabin and a few people he's gotten to know. After excusing himself, he loads up his plate filled with all kinds of food - one, two, three plates piled with pizza, burgers, onion rings, chips, even a gigantic ham he's loaded on top. It's a lot of food for a lanky man such as himself. Wobbling through the field, he trips up, several of the plates going everywhere. 'No!' He leans forward to compensate, catching several of the plates but getting a face full of spaghetti bolognaise in the process.

Kara: Noticing a commotion, Kara turned, only to see a tall new camper tripping and plates going everywhere. "Oh jeez!" Panickedly, she reached out with the power of the winds, the air cushioning and catching the remaining plates. Breathing heavily, she carefully lifted them onto the table beside her. "That was close."

Nata: Nata, the baby sitting Kara's lap, giggled and clapped her tiny hands. "Aablmm! Aaa!"

Santos: "Welp, you are what you eat." Santos shrugs, taking a finger to the pasta sauce on his face and tasting it. Mm. Good. He stands up rather flamboyantly, though he internally curses himself for being a klutz. "I totally meant to do that... Yeah." The camper glances towards the next table over, where most of the plates have been saved by Kara's quick thinking. "Cheers for doing me a solid. I'm an idiot. I don't have any food on my face, do I?" He does.

Kara: Kara smiled. "Yeah, just a little." She pulled a wet wipe from her bag and offered to him. "No problem. You get pretty fast reflexes when you've got a little one like this." She gestured to Nata, who was still giggling quietly at Santos. "Hey, are you new here? I don't think I've seen you around before."

Santos: He gratefully takes the wet-wipe, wiping the last of the pasta sauce from his face and his hair. As Kara gestures to Nata, Santos's eyes light up. Although dark brown, multi-coloured flecks (gold, green, purple?) swirl around his iris. "Aww who's this cutie?" He grins widely, putting down the plate so he can say hello to the baby. "You are, aren't you?" Santos makes a silly face. "Yup, that's me. I arrived a couple days ago. I'm Santos, by the way. Son of Iris."

Nata: Flapping her arms happily, Nata grinned at the new nice man. He was silly! Nata leaned towards him before noticing a french fry on one of his plates. Leaning even farther, almost falling out of Kara's arms, she reached out to try to grab one.

Kara: "Nata!" Kara grabbed Nata and quickly pulled her back to safety. "Sorry! This little bundle of joy is Nata, and she loves french fries ever since she first tried one. Oh, and I'm Kara, daughter of Hera." Carefully holding onto Nata, she offered a hand.

Santos: "No worries. Nothing wrong with a good appetite." Santos shrugs and shakes her hand. "She can have a fry if she wants. They're good." To prove his point, he takes a bit of a fry which makes a loud crunch. "How long have you both been at camp then?"

Kara: Kara took a small fry and fed it to an eager Nata, who chewed vigorously. "A little under a year. It's... safe. Although I do miss a friend, and it can a little lonely sometimes... I don't have a ton of friends." She focused on the plate in front of her. "Saskatoon Broadway Cafe Fries." A plate of deliciously seasoned and salted fries popped into existence on her plate. "But hey, I'm getting better at it."

She turned to Santos with a grin across her face. "You know you could've waited until you sat down to summon the food, right?" She tried not to giggle.

Nata: Nata's eyes went wide at seeing the fries in front of her - her favorite! Santos's fries forgotten, she carefully took one of Kara's and bit it to the best of her ability - despite still not having teeth.

Santos: "Thinking ahead isn't exactly a skill of mine. But oh well, can't be perfect." He winks and takes the opportunity to steal a fry. It is obviously good, as he sneaks another one. "Wow. What do they put in these? I'll have to visit and get the recipe sometime." He grins cheekily. "Well I can't compete with that, but I can do this." In a flash, Santos summons a ball of light into both his hands. It has a gentle glow and shifts color as it moves. "Sounds like you're a long way from home. But count me if you'll have me. I'll do my best to avoid throwing any rogue plates in the future."

Kara: "Thanks." She looked at the sphere of light. "Not bad. Beginning to get the hang of your powers, huh?"

Nata: Eyes widening, Nata immediately was enthralled by the pretty light in front of her. "Aaa..." She reached towards it, clearly curious and in wonder.

Santos: "I'm a man of many talents. Handsome, strong, modest too." He teased. "I guess so. I've been in the know a couple of years so I know a couple of tricks." As he raised a hand, the orb drifted closer to Nata, softly changing to a calming blue then a soft lilac, then orange. "It's great when I'm working on my latest piece. How about you? If you're Hera's daughter, you must be packing some serious firepower or air-power I guess."

Kara: Kara smiled slightly. "Maybe a bit. Queen of the gods, all that, so I've got some power over air and earth. There's a couple other things, but I'll save some of those secrets until they're needed. Suffice to say I'm no pushover in a fight." She sent a small gust of wind to mess up Santos's hair, her smile widening.

Santos: "International woman of mystery. I like it." Santos concedes, holding onto his beanie for dear life. The rest of his hair flaps around and covers his face. He blows a tuft of his hair upwards so he can see. "Hey. Not the hair. I have to keep up appearances alright?"

Kara: "Heh, alright. Not international though - I'm actually a California girl." Kara bit another fry. "Not as cool as everyone makes it out to be, but not bad either. It was nice..." She paused. "At least, until a Chimera almost killed me and stuff. But that ended up with me coming here, so I guess things turned out ok - even if it was all unexpected." She ruffled Nata's hair. "Good things came out of it too."

Nata: While the pair talked, Nata had been swatting at the orb as it got closer, and was now opening her tiny mouth as wide as possible to try to taste it. "Aa! Aaah!"

Santos: "I'll have to start calling you Hollywood then." Santos teases, arcing both his eyebrows. "That's pretty rad. Hear the waves out there are amazing, and the skating.." He stares off a little dreamily. "That's usually how things go. I'm technically here on leave, got attacked by a flock of Stymphalian birds. Fell off while I was shredding, sprained my ankle." Santos says with a little embarrassment. "Awww who's a cutie? Trying to taste the rainbows. You are. Yes, you are." He smiles and makes a funny face for Nata.

Kara: Kara thought for a moment. "Yeah, the waves aren't too bad. I was never much of a beach girl." She smiled lovingly at Nata as the little girl saw Santos's antics. "Hey, do you want to hold her? She's usually ok with strangers, and she's definitely liking you so far."

Santos: "I'm a Brooklyn man myself. Didn't have surfing weather but sometimes I'd sit by the Hudson, watching peeps go about their business." Santos smiles nostalgically. "Great for food too. There's this hot dog stand around the block from me..." He trails off. "What kind of girl were you back then?" He asks with genuine curiosity. "I'll take the complement. Course I'd love to hold her."

Kara: "Ok." Kara smiled and carefully handed Nata to Santos. "Well, to be honest... I was a bit of a video game fan. Wow, I haven't thought about that in ages..."

Nata: Nata looked up curiously at Santos. He seemed very very nice. Was he Da maybe?

Kara: Kara blinked. "Oh, sorry, didn't mean to space out. Um, yeah, I guess the only hobby I really have these days is baking cookies every so often. Otherwise I'm just being a mom."

Santos: "What we talking? Mortal Kombat? Animal Crossing?" Santos asks. "Maybe I'll show you the arcades sometime. I'm a pro at Dance Dance Revolution." He says playfully. He sits down and opens his arms to hold Nata. "Yea, I get it." He grins and gently bounces Nata up and down on his knee. "Like being the cool older brother myself. He recalls his time teaching Alec with a smile. Poor kid didn't know what to expect. "You're a great mom though. I respect that."

Kara: "Aw, thanks..." Kara blushed. "I was definitely a Nintendo girl. Squishing Goombas, filling my Pokedex, the whole shebam." She grinned mischieviously. "Maybe I'll have to whip you in Mariokart one day."

Nata: "AAAaaaaAAaaaaAaaaaAAAAaaaAAAAaaa..." Nata babbled as she bounced up and down with a grin as wide as a banana. "Abplmanmn!" Whee, this was fun!

Santos: "Whoa easy there. That's fighting talk. Isn't the main track, Rainbow Road? He grins cheekily."Aww who's ready to go uppppppp.... and then downnnnnnnn and uppppppp. Wherever." His knee bounces happen to come with improvised sound effects.

Kara: Kara smirked. "You mean the one I can take down in two minutes and thirty seconds?" She looked over at Nata. "Wow, she's just in love with you, huh?"

Nata: Giggling madly, Nata squealed as she bounced. She suddenly stopped babbling though, and looked at Santos with a neutral expression.

Kara: "Oh no." Kara tried to reach forward and reach Nata. "Santos, watch out for-"

Nata: Kara being a second too late, Nata spit up directly onto Santos's shirt, looking very surprised.

Kara: Trying very hard not to laugh, Kara grabbed a wet wipe and began cleaning up Santos and Nata. "S-sorry..."

Santos: Santos suddenly became quiet. (A rarity). He looked down slowly to the baby barf on his shirt then back to Kara. "Welp... I probably had that coming. You could save me from the bolognaise but not the barf."

Kara: Kara couldn't hold it back anymore and wholeheartedly laughed as she wiped off all of the remaining spit-up. "I should have warned you! At least it's all coming off ok."

Nata: Nata laughed along with her mom, giggling so hard that her tiny face was turning slightly red.

Santos: For the first time, Santos turned a little bit red. After a second, he starts to laugh too. "No worries, it'll wash out. Hey, there's not by any chance, some magical launderette that does the chores for you?"

Kara: "Nope, but I'd be happy to wash it out for you if necessary. Although there should be a laundry machine in your cabin." Kara carefully aimed and threw the wipe across the pavillion perfectly into a trash can before continuing to eat her fries.

Nata: Still giggling, Nata grabbed onto Santos's shirt to stay upright. "Ahehehehe! Ahehe! Hehehehehe! Ahe... Ahehe..." Calming down slowly, she began to cozy up to Santos's chest, feeling his body warmth.

Santos: "Aww.. you laughing at me? The silly man." Santos held Nata close to him, making sure she's secure and comfortable. "Fair enough. I'm surprised though. The camp literally has everything else. I'd ask Alexander for a skate park and a pizza place with arcades and foosball but that's just me."

Kara: Kara thought for a moment. "I don't know about a skate park... but there is a pretty good Pizza Hut in town nearby. Still haven't tried it for myself but it's got great reviews around here." She tilted her head slightly. "Want to check it out sometime? Tomorrow at lunch, maybe?"

Santos: "Sweet. It's a date! Well.. if you're up for it." Santos ran a hand through his hair. He was trying and failing pretty epically to play it cool. Ah. Damn it. "No way I'll say no to food. Especially if there's a pizza and salad bar to take advantage of."

Kara: Kara smirked, trying not to laugh. "I don't know about date, but sure thing." She looked over to Nata. "What'd'ya say, honey? Want to go on an adventure with Santos tomorrow?"

Nata: "Plpt." Nata looked over and stuck her tongue out, looking a little sleepy. She snuggled up against Santos as her eyelids began to droop.

Kara: "Aw, someone's all sleepy after a bottle and some food... I guess that's a yes then. Wow, she just loves you, huh?" Kara smiled at the pair, Nata beginning to fall asleep in Santos's arms.

Santos: "Yeah it'll be cool." Santos nodded. "IM me the location and I'll take us aboard the Rainbow taxi. I'm sure mom won't mind." He grinned cheekily, regaining some of his swagger. "I'll take that as the highest of compliments." He said, humming a little tune to Nata in another language. "When I was younger, dad worked nights. Used to tuck my little brothers and sisters in. Guess you never lose the gift."

Kara: Kara raised her eyebrows. "Rainbow taxi?"

Nata: Snuffling slightly, Nata closed her eyes and gently held onto Santos's shirt before completely falling asleep.

Santos: "Yeah. You know how Iris Messages work? Can use them to travel." Santos shrugged like it was the most normal thing in the world. "Can take people with me too. Just like surfing."

Kara: "Well, I'm sure that'll be entertaining, and hardly psychedelic at all." Kara gave a sweet smile, and ate the last few of her fries in silence. Swallowing, she looked over at Nata, who was beginning to give a very small, quiet snore every so often. "Yep, out like a light. And still chewing on your shirt."

Santos: "Psychedelics and pizza. Sounds about right." Santos smirked. "What more could you want?" He raised a brow emphatically before sneaking a couple of chips while Nata was asleep. She was small but the baby sure could eat. "Eh. It's aight. Don't think I could handle a sleepy baby. I'm not that brave."

Kara: "You're doing just fine so far." Kara looked over at Nata, who was completely comfortable and sleeping soundly. "I can take her back whenever you want though."

Santos: "High praise. I've gotta get back to the cabin. Alec's probably lost on the way." He shrugged, passing Nata over gently so he didn't wake her. "Same time tomorrow, yeah? And if we hit the arcades tomorrow, prepare for the competition of your life."

Kara: Kara carefully took back Nata. "Sure thing." She smiled. "Sounds like a lot of fun."

Carefully, she tucked the sleeping baby into her special backpack compartment, and hoisted the pack around her shoulders. "Meet you back here?"

Santos: "Oh. This isn't fun. It's on." Santos grinned childishly. "Yup. Bright and early. Be there or be square."

Roleplay - Day Trip to Town

Santos: Santos arrived at the Dining Pavillion. He was wearing his normal shredded (and beloved) jacket, a white hoodie, jeans and a new pair of colorful trainers. He also brought a rucksack with him, to carry anything Nata might need and a couple of his spray cans. He took a seat at one of the tables. The birds were singing and other campers were strolling around to start their day. Santos took a seat as he waited. He happily hummed to himself. This was gonna be a fun day.

Kara: Kara jogged towards the pavilion, Nata happily babbling in her backpack as she ran. She wheezed. "I love you, baby girl, but I need you to cooperate a little more! You're making Mama's life a little difficult!"

Blissfully unaware of what her mother was saying, Nata giggled and continued to bounce along as Kara ran.

Finally, Kara skidded to a stop in front of Santos's table, grabbing onto it for support. "Sorry I'm late - this little one was pretty wiggly when we were getting her into her outfit for the day." She coughed and tried to catch her breath.

Santos: "No worries. There's no rush." Santos chuckled. "Aren't you a cutie?" He smiled at Nata. "Yes you are, yes." He made another silly face. He was good at those. "Kara, I'm happy to take her or chuck some stuff in my bag. Chivalry's not dead yet."

Kara: "Aw, thanks. But I think I've got just about everything in the bag for now. Ask me again after we hit the mall." She straightened up, regaining her breath. "So, you say you've got taxi?"

Nata: Giggling, Nata flailed her arms and wiggled happily, grinning at Santos. She liked the silly man!

Santos: "Yup. All ready. It's a short trip so piece of cake." Santos grinned and offered an arm. "Just hold on tight and enjoy the ride." He stood still as he visualised the centre of town. Carefully, Santos willed the rainbow to shift and bend to his will. They would reappear in a flash.

Kara: "Alright." Reaching out and holding onto Santos's arm, Kara blinked rapidly as a spectrum of light came into view. "Whoa..."

Santos: Santos held her close for a few seconds. A full spectrum of color swirled round the three. They suddenly appeared in the nearby town. Mortals seemed none the wiser, strolling past, sitting on benches overlooking a fountain. Letting go of Kara, Santos dusted himself off. "We all okay? No arms, legs, fingers missing? It's really something, huh?"

Kara: Rubbing her eyes as spots faded in and out of view, Kara squinted for a moment as her eyes reajusted. "Wow... definitely different from earth travel. Yeah, we're all good. Might pack sunglasses next time though."

Nata: "Aaa." Nata looked very confused, blinking and looking around in sync with her mother.

Santos: "Yeah, it's weird the first time. You get used to it." Santos chuckled. "Taught my little bro how to do it the other week. He almost faceplanted into the floor." He looked around, hands in his pockets. "We gonna hit the mall first? Think you can get glasses over there. Wait- hold up, what's earth travel?"

Kara: Kara grinned. "C'mon, Rainbow Boy, let's go shopping." Hitching up her backpack, she began walking forward towards the nearby mall. "Let's try Kohl's first."

Santos: "That's Mr Rainbow Boy to you, Earth Girl." Santos chuckled. "Wait, that didn't come out right..." He shook his head. "Whatever you say guapa. You're the boss." Santos jogged lightly to catch up, then strolled beside her. Shopping wasn't his thing, but he was willing to try if it made Kara happy. And he'd never turn down the offer of food. "Anything I need to keep an eye out for?"

Kara: "I get the feeling you aren't a huge shopping person, so I'll try to be kind of quick. But yeah, Nata's outgrowing a bunch of her outfits, so she needs some new clothes. And trust me, shopping for babies is waaaaaaay more fun than shopping for yourself." Kara smiled. "Wasn't a fan of shopping myself much before I had her, but it's awesome to just look around and find tiny adorable things for her every now and again."

The pair reached the doors and Kara held it open for Santos. "After you."

Santos: "What gave it away? You saying my threads need changing?" Santos smirked. "It'll be a nice change. Honestly it's not that I don't like shopping, we just didn't have the money. Family got all our clothes second-hand. And when a poor brown person walks into this sort of place, the security get twitchy." He shrugged and walked in. "Thanks. Let's get this little one some new clothes..."

Kara: Kara's eyes widened at Santos's response. "Oh, no, I love your outfit! I just saw your face and kind of inferred you weren't huge about it. But let's try it out!"

After walking over to the baby section, Kara gasped excitedly and went over to a table filled with tiny colorful T-Shirts. "Aww, Santos, look! These are so adorable!"

Santos: "Eh no worries. I was kidding." Santos chuckled. "I know who I am. Don't need fancy clothes to make a statement." He examined the shirts. Lifting a bright green one, Santos' eyes widened in delight. "I'm roarsome! It's perfect. Even has a dinosaur and everything."

Kara: "Aww! That's so so cute! Hey, what about this one?" Kara held up a light pink t-shirt with black writing. "Cute Mass Destruction... Wow, ain't that the truth."

Santos: "Perfect! Girl's gonna grow up right." Santos grinned proudly. He started to search through all the clothes, almost burying himself in a giant pile. "Gonna find a rainbow tie-dye top. We're not leaving without something in every colour."

Kara: Kara's eyes scanned the pile of shirts and Santos, a smile on her face. "By your left ear." She walked around him to a rack of tiny pants and leggings. "Hmm, sweats? Denim? Ooh, they have this one that looks like denim but is actually a nice soft fabric..."

Santos: "Whoa. Awesome." Santos said, peeking out from a large pile of clothes. He immediately picked up the tie-dye t-shirt and another one with a heart-shaped pizza that said 'You're a pizza my heart." He grinned and looked towards the section of tiny pants. "Can rock a graphic tee but I'm lost here. Uh, maybe something warm for now, something lighter for when it warms up."

Kara: "Sounds perfect." Kara grabbed a small pair of sweatpants and a pink pair of leggings. "This is going surprisingly well, I gotta say. Should we keep moving?"

Santos: "This is easy street. Try going to the mall with five little kids hanging off your arms." Santos laughed. "Yup. Moving's definitely a good idea..."

OOC Discussion

Flop: I should probably elaborate - the Broadway Cafe in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan has some of the best fries in the world, even better than McDonalds <3
