They have a telepathic/empathetic connection with nature and other nymphs. They also have a special, stronger connection with other animal nymphs.
As they are nymphs they do not age, remaining eternally young.
Their senses of smell, sight and hearing are enhanced, enabling them to sniff out monsters, track down demigods, etc.
Supplementary
They are able to summon animals to aid them; they have the best control over their own animal type.
Specific to each Animal Type
Each type of animal nymph has its life force attached to that species, so if a species were to go extinct the nymphs would die.
Each nymph is able to change into the type of animal he/she is, and only that type. So the bear nymph could not turn into a mouse, but he/she could turn into a grizzly bear, black bear, polar bear, etc.
While in animal form they have all the normal abilities of their animals. So if the nymph is a hawk nymph he/she can fly.
While in regular nymph/person form, they only retain passive characteristics/traits from their animals. So if the nymph is a hawk nymph, perhaps he/she remains claustrophobic in enclosed spaces but cannot fly.

Orian: Orian had a bright smile on his face as he walked around the Nymph sanctuary. He was walking down a corridor were most of the animal nymphs had their rooms. He hadn't decided on what he was going to do that day, but started pacing the corridors thinking.
Kira: She walks out of her room, not really looking where she is going. She has chosen to show antlers, even though she is a doe.
Orian: The fox nymph looks down for a quick moment, but in that moment it was enough for him to bump into someone. "Sorry mi-" he notices the antlers and tilts his head. "Uh, sorry."
Kira: She nods. "Sorry, I wasn't looking where I was going. And yes, I have chosen to have antlers."
Orian: He couldn't help but smile at the girls individuality. He thought it was pretty cool that she chose to have antlers. "It's okay, and that's actually pretty cool."
Kira: She smiles. "Thank you. I wasn't going to change it even if you didn't like it." She reaches up and runs a finger up one of them. "I think I like this."
Orian: The fox spirit couldn't help but nod. "Just because someone says they don't like it you should never change it." He says this as he watched her trace the antlers with her fingers.
Kira: She nods. "Yeah. Mmm. By the way, I'm Kira."
Orian: Orian looked at the girl and nodded. "Nice name, I'm Orian." He says this as he extends a hand.
Kira: She smiles and shakes his hand. Nice to meet you. I like your name. It's a great symbol."
Orian: Orian nodded. "Thank you!" He said this with a cheery tone. "I was thinking about goin to the pier. Would you like to join me?"
Kira: She nods. "Sure. I'd like that. I haven't met anyone yet. I just got here. This place is beautiful."
