“Experience is merely the name men gave to their mistakes.”
Character's Bio

Age: Immortal  Height: 6'0"  Weight: 150 lbs
 Sexuality: Heterosexual  Relationship Status: Single
Birth Place: Mount Olympus  Main Weapon: Sword
 Accent: Neutral
 – “Always forgive your enemies, nothing else annoys them so much.”

Character's Powers

  • They have a telepathic/empathetic connection with nature and other nymphs. They also have a special, stronger, connection with other animal nymphs
  • As they are nymphs they do not age, remaining eternally young.

Their senses of smell, sight and hearing are more enhanced, enabling them to sniff out monsters, track down demigods, etc.

  • They are able to summon animals to aid them, they have the best control over their own animal type
  • Each type of animal nymph has their life force attached to that species, so if a species were to go extinct the nymph would die
  • Each nymph is able to change into the type of animal they are, and only that type. So the bear nymph could not turn into a mouse, but it could turn into a grizzly, black bear, polar bear, etc.
  • While In animal form they have all the normal abilities of the animal. So if they are a hawk they can fly.
  • While in regular nymph/person form, they only retain passive characteristics/traits from the animal. So if they are a hawk, perhaps they are claustrophobic in enclosed spaces, but they cannot fly

To Kwan's Room

Timeskip to Morning

To that Place We Go

Hei Ryung: After at least an hour of ride in a bus, they finally arrived. She saw by the window the gate and a sign right on the white brick walls of the place saying, "Given Grace". When she got off the bus, she walked to the tall gates and she could already hear the laughter of children inside while they played, probably hide-and-seek or tag, and she could already see them behind the rails of the gray gate. The main building, which is consisted of three floors and white walls with a dark gray roof could also be seen. The place was rather simplistic and gave off the cozy feeling, which was usually felt when you're at home. Starting from the gate was a pavement which ends at the steps of the main building. In the middle was a small fountain where birds would sometimes stay and take their baths. To the left was a garden filled with various flowers and plants and some kids were watering them. To the right was an even wider space where a few benches were placed under the shades of trees and also a playground for the children. She already missed the place a lot even though she's just been there yesterday. She breathed in and out then looked at Kwan with a smile. "Well, here we are," she said gesturing in front of her.

Kwan: Kwan walked to her side, standing a least a foot or so away. Given Grace, is this a grace store? No, those aren't real, I don't think. Are they? he thought, glancing up at the tall gate. He dipped his sunglasses by the side, examining the place. He exhaled through his nose, a small, yet genuine smile forming on his lips at the sight of the children playing. He regained himself and licked his bottom lip. "So, is this some sort of school?" He asked, still looking at the children playing, yet talking directly to the daughter of Nyx. As if having thought of something brilliant, which he kind of did, he snapped his fingers in the air and let his glasses sit back on the bridge of his nose. He turned his head face her, his whole face giddy and a little curious. "Is this that adoption center you were talking about?" He asked, remembering how she had said something about visiting a center last night.

Hei Ryung: She shook her head as a response to his first question. "Nope." She walked towards the gates, holding the rails and not a moment later, the children stopped what they were doing and gasped when they saw her. "AMY!" they all called and ran to the gate with big smiles on their faces, very glad to see her there. A smile formed on Hei Ryung's face as well and her heart really felt light. "Hello guys!" she greeted behind the gate, patting the heads of the kids. When Kwan asked once more, she turned her face to him and nodded with a smile. "Yes." Then one kid interrupted, "Amy, Amy! Who's that?" They all looked at Kwan when the kid pointed at him. Then they brought their looks back at Hei Ryung with a teasing face. "Is he your boyfriend!?" one child asked excitedly, his voice loud enough for even the neighbors to hear. Hei Ryung's eyes widened in surprise and immediately covered his mouth , chuckling nervously. "Ahaha! Oh, you silly!" she tried to overcome the loudness of the children's voices and carefully checked Kwan's reaction while she felt a bit awkward.

Kwan: He put a hand to the back of his head, chuckling nervously as well, his eyes darting downwards away from the children. "No, little mortals - I mean - children," he said, trying to sound as nurturing as could be as they were children. "We aren't dating, we are friends. Just friends," he stated clearly, his face loud to try to make sense over the tiny voices. He spoke again, gesturing to himself, "I'm Prince Kwan, Hei Ryu-," he stopped to correct himself. "Amy's friend." He turned to Hei Ryung. "Do you come here a lot?" He asked, simply wondering, since they had called her 'Amy' instead of 'Amelia' or 'Hei Ryung'.

Hei Ryung: She felt like Kwan was also embarrassed having been put on the spot like her and she felt bad for him, fearing that the kids wouldn't make such a good first impression on him but she was rather surprised at how he answered them with a tone that was very unusual of him to let out. She was glad that he still seemed to have some stored patience in him and so she smiled and nodded, agreeing to his reply. She then turned to the children and supported his statement. "That's right! Friends, like you guys!" They looked at each other, some with expressions of wonder, curiosity and confusion then when they heard Kwan introduce himself, they turned their heads to him and with a look of awe on their faces, they clapped and some even gasped. "PRINCE! PRINCE!" some of them exclaimed in excitement. Hei Ryung was shocked with the sudden shift of their expressions and just giggled. "Make way for the royalty!!!" a boy shouted and balled his fists, putting them on his mouth, topping each other and imitated the sound of a trumpet as the other boys opened the gates for their guests. The rest of the children moved to the side, leaving the paved way unblocked and bowed their heads, maintaining the stance. Hei Ryung's eyes bulged in astonishment with how they welcomed them and then again she let out a soft chuckle. Then as she looked back at Kwan, he asked her and then she answered, "Well, it depends on how you define a lot." She gave him a wide smile and reached her hand to him, gesturing for him to come along. "I go here, at least, two to three times a week," she added. "Does that fit your definition?"

Kwan: His eyes widened. These mortals were smarter than he thought. He believed their small appearances to be trivial and frankly annoying, as he wasn't much of a mortal-enjoying-spirit himself. He nodded at Hei Ryung. He wondered if she had a special connection to the place and if so, how did she come to know about it. He shook the thoughts to the other side of his mind and turned his head to her. "These children know how to welcome royalty," he said in utter awe. He looked around and smiled proudly at the children around them. "Thank you! Thank you! Thank you fine common mor- people!" He said, loud enough for all of them to hear. He turned back to Hei Ryung, "So who needs the gloves?"

Hei Ryung: She giggled at Kwan's reaction to what the kids did. She nodded saying, "Yes, yes, they do!" The children stood back up and clapped their hands, cheering when they heard Kwan said his thanks. Hei Ryung never saw the children that glad before. At that moment, she felt grateful that Kwan went with her. She thought that that day would've been one of the greatest for the kids. She answered Kwan's question, "Oh, come. Let's go inside." She walked in and the kids huddled around her, smiles on their faces, obviously happy that she was there while some of them went to Kwan and said their greetings. They were very enthusiastic at that time. Later, a woman in a light blue blouse paired with a long white skirt and black flat shoes came out of the main building. Her black hair was neatly tied into a bun and her features strongly show that she was of the same ethnicity as Hei Ryung. "Amy!" she shouted from the front door and approached Hei Ryung with her open arms. She was of the same height as Hei Ryung but then the very few wrinkles on the sides of her eyes, and cheeks indicate that she was, in fact, older than Hei Ryung. "Aunt Julie!" Hei Ryung extended her arms and they embraced each other. Aunt Julie patted Hei Ryung on the shoulders and said, "Glad you're back again." She chuckled. Behind Hei Ryung was a guy unfamiliar to Aunt Julie and so she asked Hei Ryung, "Who is that?" Hei Ryung looked over her shoulder and then saw that Aunt Julie was referring to Kwan. She looked back at Aunt Julie and replied, "That's Kwan, a friend of mine."

Kwan: He followed Hei Ryung, glancing around the place. Surprisingly, he found himself to like the atmosphere. He would have guessed that he wouldn't have liked the place because of so many mortals or that the place seemed small to him. He guessed he enjoyed it because he actually felt a little homey and cozy at this place. The corners of his mouth tugged upwards and it stayed like that for a while. He greeted the little children with bows and a wave you would see one of those princesses on TV do. He was a little startled by Aunt Julie's sudden appearance, but regained his composure and held his hand out. "Nice to meet you miss." He greeted, flashing a toothy grin at the lady. He examined her from head to toe and he found her to be like what he imagined a mortal mother or grandmother might be like. She did seem like Hei Ryung in some way. "Are you two related?" He asked Hei Ryung, softly from the corner of his mouth.

Hei Ryung: "Ah," Aunt Julie said with a gentle smile and shook his hand. "You can call me Aunt Julie. It is nice meeting you too, Kwan." After the short introduction, she noticed that Kwan seemed to be saying something to Hei Ryung but could not make out what it was. All Hei Ryung managed was, "Hm?" Then she giggled, finding Kwan's question quite funny. "No, silly," she chuckled and lightly hit Kwan's arm. Aunt Julie's eyebrows shot up in curiosity then asked as she put her hand back down, "Am I missing something?" Hei Ryung shook her head and replied, "Aniyo." She continued, "He was asking if we were related." Aunt Julie laughed a bit and said, "Ah, we get that a lot but no, my dear, we are not. Anyway, welcome to Given Grace, Kwan. Please come in!" Aunt Julie turned around and headed to the main building to lead them inside. "Come on," Hei Ryung told Kwan.

Kwan: He winced as she hit his arm, and sheepishly smiled, clenching it. He looked down, blushing at how silly he must have seemed. "Thanks," he whispered to Aunt Julie's welcome and stepped towards Hei Ryung, ready to follow her around this newfound place like a cat following its owner. He started into the building, but was too busy looking around at the children, that he ran into the wall instead of walking into the doorway. "I'm fine!" He groaned, putting a hand on his forehead. He smiled reassuringly at Hei Ryung and went inside the building.

Hei Ryung: The children just waved their goodbyes and then dispersed, going back to their own worlds of fun. "Adorable, aren't they?" Hei Ryung said with a soft smile. "Take a seat," Aunt Julie offered the both of them as she gestured to the brown couch in the lobby. Hei Ryung replied, "Oh but, Aunt Julie. We won't stay here for too long."

"What do you mean?" Aunt Julie asked.
"We're just here to visit Henry."
Aunt Julie's smile faded. "Oh..." But immediately, she put it back on for their guest. "Well, then, you know where he is."
"I'll take Kwan there. Thank you, Aunt Julie," Hei Ryung said and then bowed before turning to Kwan and said, "This way." She extended her arm to her right where a hall was and then she started walking to lead the way.

Kwan: Kwan frowned at Julie's sudden change of facial expressions but hel his tongue until he was with Hei Ryung. Henry, he thought about the name as he followed Hei Ryung. "So who's this Henry guy and why did Aunt Julie's face fall when he was mentioned back there?" He asked curiously, finally getting his breath, smiling softly at having used his voice loud and clear.

Hei Ryung: Even Hei Ryung was silent about the matter for a few seconds. "Ah, I'm sorry," she said and showed Kwan a warm smile. "Henry... you'll see." As soon as they arrived in front of a door, slightly open so anyone could take a peek in the room, Hei Ryung checked the small opening and then turned to Kwan. "Well," she said, "Here he is." She opened the door and the sight of a dark haired child who was about six years of age, lying in bed with a blanket covering the lower half of his body so only his pale yellow shirt was seen, met them. Beside him was a heart rate monitor and a dextrose was used on him. Every now and then, soft bleeps would fill the silence in the air. "Kwan," Hei Ryung gently said, "meet Henry." The child was asleep until Hei Ryung opened the door and as if the creak was too loud that it made him open his eyes and turn his head to his visitors. A faint smile appeared.

Kwan: Henry, Henry, Henry, the giddiness to see who this boy was, was clear in Kwan's mind. When they arrived at the door, he was about ready to yank the door open himself and when she did open the door, he stepped in quickly. But seeing Henry, he felt his heart stop. He never thought he would feel pity for a mortal, any mortal, as he believed them to be idiotic and stupid, but this time, pity was his only feeling. Kwan staggered a bit, dazed at how weak one young mortal could be. The equipment used for him made Kwan want to throw up. What child would want to sit in bed all day with machines on him and no play? He had the sudden urge to take him out of his bed and go kite flying with Henry, or show him how cool donkeys really were. When the child's eyes opened, Kwan stepped back a little, shocked that the creature was alive. He got back his balance and waved slightly at the boy, a silly grin on his face.
