|Jacob Evans ~ Victory's Wrangler|
"It is not enough for a man to know how to ride; he must know how to fall."
|Walking near the woods, Jacob was enjoying the fresh air as he walked around in a just his small jockstrap. Wonder who I'm going to run across and meet today...|

Mattie - Guardian of Tigers

"We can always try."
Jacob: Seeing the tiger, Jacob's eyes go big and force him take a step back, trying not shout out and wake up the tiger. Stumbling back, he trips and fall on his rear.
Mathilde: Due to its sensitive hearing, the thud woke it up and whip its head to scan its surroundings. The tiger yawned before standing up and to its surprise, someone else was there, making it, ridiculous as it might sound, jump back then crouch. It gave the person a sneer like he was someone very suspicious and let out a growl.
Jacob: As the Tiger locked eyes with him, Jacob began swearing under his breath, scooting backwards, "Good kitty...good kitty..." He did not know how the tiger was in camp nor was he eager to find out...
Mathilde: It looked down... and its eyes seemingly bulged as it saw what the guy was merely wearing. The tiger turned into its nymph form, a girl with a boyish cut, wearing a white blouse with bishop sleeves and a blue flowy skirt that extended up to her knees. Mathilde immediately turned around, covering her eyes. "ACK! GO AWAY! SHOO!" she exclaimed in panic, as she shooed the guy without looking.
Jacob: He tilted his head, it wasn't the fact she was shooing him away, it was the fact that the tiger just turned into a girl. "Wait..what just happened?" He was very lost and confused
Mathilde: "Uh-uh," she said. "Not gonna talk unless you get some decent clothes."
Jack: Looking down at his jock, he frowned, "I kinda don't...not really keen on dressing up. To me, this is decent." This was really the first person to object to his outfit; usually people either looked the other way or stared.
Mathilde: She grumbled. "I don't think I can do anything..." She took her hands off her eyes and simply walked the other direction. Such sight was just too frightening to her.
Jacob: Part of him wanted to follow the girl, the other part reminded him that she could go tiger and tear his liver out. Keeping a safe distance, he followed her, "Can I at least know your name? You're the first person to complain about the way I dress."
Mathilde: She almost yelped when he followed but she didn't really look. Hearing his voice was enough evidence that he followed. "M-Mathilde!" she quickly answered then walked with a faster pace.
Jacob: He followed her, still leaving a decent amount of distance between then, "Slow down!"
Mathilde: Like magic, she just came to a stop for a second and then started to walk in a normal pace. It was pretty much her nature to obey. Why, Mathilde, why!? she asked in her mind.
Jacob: Still keeping his distance, Jacob tilted his head, suprised that the girl had slowed, "You.....you okay?"
Mathilde: She had been walking too stiffly and maybe it was too obvious. Yeah, probably was. "Nope!" she answered, shaking her head. She didn't even know where to go but all she knew was she had to avoid that jockstrap guy.
Jacob: Taking a breath, Jacob decided to cut her a deal, "Look, if I go back to my cabin and toss on a pair of shorts, you promise not to run off so we can talk?"
Mathilde: She didn't stop nor turn around but she smiled like Yes! Victory! "Deal!" she just replied with the right amount of volume in her voice.
Jacob: Nodding, Jacob bolted back to his room, tossing on a pair of short running shorts. Wierd...most of the girls have been fawning over my body. Never thought a girl would actually not like it. Running back to the forest, he checked to see the girl was still there.
Mathilde: When he was gone, she let out a sigh of relief. "Thank goodness he's gonna dress up..." she said. She just roamed around while waiting for him to come back. It would be rude if she just ran away so she didn't. Then as soon as he returned, she wasn't easily spotted. An idea popped into her head. She changed into her tiger form once more and crept behind him. She waited for the right timing and... ROAR!
Jacob: The son of Nike leaped a few feet into the air. Landing, he begged that he hadn't wet himself. Turning he saw the girl...but now she head of tiger...a sight not even he the thought that he'd see. "How are you doing that!" Jacob said, taking a few steps back.
Mathilde: She turned back to her nymph form afterwards, chuckling. "You should've seen your face back there," she said still laughing so hard that she had to hug her stomach. Then she got a better look at him, now with more decent clothes. "There, you look more presentable." She smiled and folded her arms. "Well, I'm actually an animal nymph," she began to explain. "It's our ability to turn into an animal but in my case... I'm a tiger nymph so..." She did another demonstration of her transformation. The tiger took a few steps forward and then turned back into a girl. "I can turn into a tiger."
Jacob: He looked her over, "That seems...interesting." He nodded, still abit nervous about her, "Remind me not to get on your bad side...I don't want to find out if you have a bear and lion nymph friends..." he nodded, "What else other than scaring half-dressed demigods?"
Mathilde: She shrugged. "That's pretty much it. I mean the very reason we exist is to be guardians of our animal type," she said. Then she remembered. "Ah, sorry about what happened earlier. I'm more used to see... um... covered people."
Jacob: He shrugged, "Guess it was bound to happen sooner or later, not everyone is as...open as I am with my body." What she said then made Jacob think, "If you're supposed to be a guardian of tigers...what are you doing in New York? Shouldn't you bee in their natural habitat, stopping poachers?"
Mathilde: "Simply," she repllied, "like you, some of us live here specifically in the Nymph Sanctuary. Lord Dionysus assigned me here but I do go out whenever I am needed." She brushed something off her shoulder and then continued, "Also, some of my friends are out there. It's not really necessary for eveyone to be out."
Jacob: "I guess that makes sense..." Jacob nods, "So, what are tigers like when you're around them? Do they act like giant kittens?" He chuckled imagining tigers rubbing their heads against her and batting around balls.
Mathilde: "Um... well..." She remembered the times when she acted kind of stupid, forgetting that tigers had to be fierce instead of being cutesy like kittens. It was embarrassing. "It really depends on what kind of tiger you're dealing with. Like people, they've got personalities too. Sometimes they're cute, something they're scary."
Jacob: "So...which kinds of tigers are the friendlest?" Jacob asked, a bit curious.
Mathilde: She shrugged. "You can never tell, really. But in my case, every tiger is friendly."
