"We can always try."

Miller: He is taking a nice walk in the morning. As always, he was looking for trouble (AKA underwear)

Mattie: Mattie can be a really hard-working nymph but she's also a sleepyhead sometimes. In fact, she's seated, leaning her back against a tree by the lake, her favorite spot, taking a nap first thing in the morning while a tiger cub constantly rubs its head on her arms, perhaps trying to wake her up so they can play.

Miller: By now, he is walking in the woods, scouring for his next victim. Thats when he spots Mattie and the tiger cub. She never told me she had a kid, he thinks. He decides to creep up on them, maybe even play with the cub.

Mattie: The cubs gets tired to trying so it just crawls to her lap, lying on its belly and then yawns. It takes a nap as well as it patiently waits for its playmate to wake up.

Miller: He walks up quietly to Mattie. He then prods the cute little cub and grins.

Mattie: Before drifing off to dreamland, the cub is startled by something that prodded it so it jerks up and sees a suspisiously-looking guy. It roars in an attempt to scare him away but with its squeaky voice, it sounds more like a meow trying hard to be a roar. Mattie gasps as she is woken up. "W-Wha-- oh!" First thing she sees is the cub that has all its hair standing tall and its body stiff like a frightened cat then she sees Miller. "Miller?" She grabs the cub around the belly and carries it. The cub seems to be more relaxed now. "What are you doing here?" she asks in a friendly manner.

Miller: He grins at her. "Well, I was going to play with your kid here, but I may have frightened the poor cub." His smile is as sincere as it may ever get, considering he is a child of Hermes

Mattie: "Kid?" she raises her eyebrow in question. She stands up and then her eyes land on the cub. "Ooohh..." She chuckles. "You silly!" she tells Miller. "This isn't my kid! This is a cub I managed to summon last night and I don't even know why it's still here." She scratches its head and the cub closes its eyes in comfort.

Miller: He grins, slightly relieved the cub wasn't her kid. He walks up cautiously to the cub, then begins to pet him. "Who's a cute little ferocious beast? You are, you are" he coos, something he rarely does

Mattie: The cub flinches and growls at the guy. It's okay. He's a friend, Mattie communicates with the cub through her mind. The cub is still quite hesitant but it trusts Mattie's words so it rubs its head against Miller's palm. Mattie smiles. "He likes you," she tells Miller.

Miller: He laughs. "Thats good, it would have been unfortunate for my arm had the cub not." He decides to play a magic trick on the cub. He grabs a stick from the ground. "See this stick? I'm going to make it disappear." He wags it in the air, then throws it very far away. Or so it seemed. "Ta-da!" he says happily

Mattie: She shakes her head with a smirk on her face while her eyebrow is raised thinking how silly that trick was but it's for the cub anyway. "Oh!" Mattie is taken by surprise when the cub jumps off her arms and runs after the stick, disappearing deep into the woods. "Huh..." She does nothing but scratches her head, clueless of the cub's whereabouts. Anyway, he'll be gone soon since summoned animals won't last long.

Miller: He roars in laughter, tears flowing from his eyes. "The next part of my trick" he says, gasping between laughs, "was to show the cub.." more luaghter, "I still had the stick in my hand." He raises the stick

Mattie: She scoffs and attempts to hit Miller on the arm. "That was horrible!" she reacts. "Now he's gone," she says with with a rather sad tone, looking to the direction of the forest.

Miller: He grew serious for a moment, feeling bad about what happened. "It wasn't my intention. I just wanted to show a trick of misdirection," he mumbles. Using his Hermes powers, he summoned the Tiger back again. "I think I fixed it" he says guiltily.

Mattie: "Awww hey!" She holds him by the shoulder. "I was just kidding! See? I'm not mad!" she tries to make him feel better. The little furball is in fact back so she carries him and shows Miller how much the little guy wants to play. "Hey, Lucas, wants to play! Won't you play with him, Miller?" Behind the smile, she's actually guilty of making him feel guilty. Oh, the irony.

Miller: He smiles a little, already feeling better. "Lets play a game," he says jovially. "My personal favorite is tag. So..." he tags little Lucas- "Tag your it!" He runs off, laughing like a little kid.

Mattie: The cub shrinks back a little when it gets tagged. Lucas simply stares at Miller, clueless of what the mortal is doing. He wants to play, Mattie tells him. She carefully puts him down so he can run after Miller but the cub just tilts its head in wonder. Go on, Mattie again tries to communicate with him, run after him.

Miller: He runs for a bit, until he realizes no one is following. Disappointed, Miller limps back to Mattie and Lucas.

Mattie: "Maybe just carry him," she suggests. "He won't be here for long," she adds.

Miller: "Nah it's okay, he isn't in the mood to play tag with strangers." A smile creeps up his face. "But he might be inclined if YOUR IT!" He attempts to tag Mattie

Mattie: She scoffs. "Hey no fair!" She quickly tries to reach for Miller's arm to tag him back.

Miller: He gets tagged, but Miller makes another attempt to tag Mattie. "So fair!" He shouts with glee

Mattie: Her reflexes act up as she immediately backs away with a smirk on her face and turns into her tiger form, running away to avoid the tag. Lucas roars... meows? And runs after Mattie.

Miller: He runs after them, pacing himself so he wouldn't over use his powers like last time. Then he has a splendid idea. Pretending to trip magnificently, Miller lays on the floor as if injured

Mattie: She's already gotten far enough but when she looks back, Miller is nowhere behind her. She sees baby Lucas instead. Something catches her attention later on... MILLER!? She runs back to him, seeing him lying down the floor. She wonders what could've happened to him. "Miller???" she says as she just transformed back into a nymph. She remembers his past injury and wonders if it came back.

Miller: He coughs, moving his hand to his mouth, mostly to hide his smile

Mattie: She kneels down beside him and asks, "Do we need to bring youto th infirmary again?" She looks rather disappointed that Miller is so careless to always trip. Lucas again is there with them.

Miller: After a pause, Miller quickly attempts to pull Mattie under him, tag her, and run away

Mattie: She almost yelps when she got tugged and almost touched the ground. Too late for her to tag Miller back because he's already running off. She clenches her fist. "MILLEEEEEEER!!!" Another trick he has pulled on her. She stands up. "Not gonna let this happen ever again," she mutters.

Miller: He is running happily when he gets ambushed.... by a group of Ares and Nemesis kids. They were really upset about him taking their underwear the day before, and wanted to teach him a lesson. One of the Nemesis kids makes him unbalanced, and he falls to the ground "Look fellas, I'm not trying to cause any trouble here...." The goup of seven begin to kick him. They beat him bloody, till they hear a rustling. Not wanting to get in trouble, they run off. "Mattie", he croaks

Mattie: She runs as a tiger because she's faster this way and looks for Miller but he is nowhere in the area. She turns back into a nymph. "Miller?" she calls out as she goes with her search. "Not fair, Miller! This isn't hide-and-seek!" she adds. When she gets no response, she wonders, "Where could he be?" She walks a bit further. "Ha! Whatever it is you're planning, I wont fall for it again, okay!? Hear that, Miller?"

Miller: He groans, his ribs on fire. "Mattie", he calls out weakly. He hoped they could sniff him out. Having an idea, he summons a small squirrel to go and get them.

Mattie: She scratches her head and stops, putting her hands on her waist. "Did he just leave?" she asks to herself. She turns to check if Lucas is still there. "And where's Lucas?" She spins around but sees nothing. "Maybe he's gone now." She shrugs.

Miller: "Go get them", he tells the squirrel. The squirrel seems confused, but leaves. Miller coughs violently.

Mattie: She loses hope of finding him. "Maybe I should just... head back," she tells herself.

  • A random squirrel comes from the clearing, and begins to tug at Mattie*

Miller: He feels like crap. By now he is positive he's broken some ribs, and has a minor concussion. He tries to get up, but his weak leg shakes, and he falls.

Mattie: She's about to turn around and walk away when she felt something in her ankle... a tackle maybe? "Huh?" She looks down and sees a squirrel. "Hello there, little fellow," she greets it as she kneels down.

Miller: He lays there, sure his pranks have left him for dead

-Squirrel- it tugs at Mattie's sleeve, urging her in Miller's direction

Mattie: The squirrel pulls on her sleeve which makes her think that perhaps it's leading her somewhere. "Um okay?" She stands up. "Where do you wanna go, buddy?"

-The squirrel is slightly frustrated, and runs off in Miller's direction

Miller: He was silent. No one would come, and he would see his end.

Mattie: "Wait!" she calls after the squirrel and runs after it. She finally finds Miller, lying down again. "M-MILLER!?" Her eyes widens in shock when she sees what seems to be blood going out of his mouth. She immediately kneels beside him. "What ha-- wait... is this another trick you're trying to pull?" She holds him by the back of his head, raising it a bit. "Will you just stop? This isn't--" Her hands feel wet like it is somewhat sticky. She looks at her fingers and there is red stuff... real blood. "MILLER! WHAT ARE YOU DOING WITH YOUR LIFE!?" She masks her fright with shouts. Her hands are getting shaky. She must do something immediately. "W-Wait here, o-okay?" She gently brings his head back down as she runs and calls for help, "SOMEONE PLEASE! A CAMPER IS INJURED!"

[[|Alison "Ali"]] ~ Healing Nymph

"Life isn't about finding yourself, Life is about creating yourself"
She'd been nearby when she heard the cry for help. She came running to the vioces aid, to see a figure on the ground, severely injured, and caked with some blood. She rushes to his side, feeding him ambrosia. He chokes a little, but swallows it down. You wait here", she tells Mattie. "I'll dispatcha team immediately." She runs off. Minutes later, she and 3 apollo kids come with a stretcher, and they load miller up.

Character's Powers

  1. For minor wounds they can quicken the healing process and completely take the pain away, the more severe the wound the harder this is and the more energy it drains. They cannot bring someone back from the brink of death.
  2. If a person is dying and the fates deem that death is imminent, a healing nymph can keep that person alive, but for every minute they do it drains them substantially. This could be useful if the person who is dying wishes to talk to someone or tell someone goodbye. The longer the nymph sustains their life past when they should have died, the more risk to their own life.
  3. As they are nymphs they do not age, remaining eternally young.
  4. They have a telepathic/empathetic connection with nature and other nymphs

Mattie: "T-Thank you so much!" she told the girl who came. Her eyebrows furrowed, worried. "I believe in you guys," she added.

Ali: She smiled. "Don't worry," she says, "He's in capable hands." Her brows then furrow. "Do you have any idea who would do this? it obviously wasn't a monster."

Mattie: She shook her head, ashamed that she didn't know the answer. "Sorry but I don't know... I just found him there... lying...."

Ali: She is slightly confused as to this nymph girls relation to the boy. "Well, you guys seem to know each other. Mind telling me why you guys were out here?"

Mathilde: She started to feel nervous that she was fiddling with her fingers. "We were just playing..." she explained. "Then he got lost here or somethin-- I don't really know. I'm sorry, I didn't see everything. It all happened fast." She let out a heavy sigh.

Ali: She nods, an idea formulating in her head. She thinks she knows what happned here. She never thought children of Hermes could be such pigs. "Look", she says kindly, "Did he..... attempt to force himself onto you? Violence isn't tolerated here, but neither is... what he did. I don't know if you did this or not, but, just know we would never stand for this treatment."

Mathilde: Her eyes bulged. "N-No!" The thought of Miller... forcing himself onto here... it wasn't such a pleasant image. "I just literally found him there. Lying down." She gestured to the ground where he was positioned earlier, revealing her hand that had blood stains on it. "And I didn't do anything, I swear," she replied with a shaky voice, waving her hands doing the no gesture.

Ali: Her eyes widen as she sees the blood stains. Before she can do anything, one of the campers helping sees it too, and they stop for a moment. Then, they hastily load up Miller and leave, the camper probably going to go tell Alexander the Great about the suspicious siting. Ali facepalms. "Oh no. Your dead. This isnt even your fault, it's Miller's fault."

Mattie: "WHAT!? Wait-- no! How could this possibly be his fault!?" she blurted out. She pointed to the direction of the campers who carried Miller and defended, "He's already bloody and you still say it's his fault??? How come???"

Ali: She pats the girls back soothingly. "It's ok, there is no need to pretend. I imagine it must have been traumatizing, but its over. You must be strong."

Mattie: She moves away from the girl and says, "NO! I told you he didn't do anything!" She adds, "Look, I called for help, right? Why would I call for help and thank you guys for coming to save him if he did something to me?"

Ali: She nods, lnowing it would take Mattie awhile to come to terms with this fact of life. "It's okay, just deal with it as you will. It's a difficult experience, and we all process differently."

Mattie: She clicks her tongue in frustration. It's no use. She just runs after the people who carried the stretcher where Miller was.

Ali: She heads off to see Alexander the Great, and defend the nymph in this terrible situation.

Timeskip (Infirmary)

Mattie: She rushes to the infirmary and looks through the window. The scene is familiar like it is just repeating itself. Ah, it all happened the other day, she thinks. She wonders if the same stiff guy will show up just l ike last time. She hopes not. She lets out a sigh of relief when that Miller's seems to still be fine. The healers will take care of him.

Random dude from Camp court: "You there! Come with me. There are some questions you must answer about your involvment in the incident with the hermes boy."

Mattie: "Huh?" She gets startled by the dude who just appeared out of nowhere. "Uh--okay," she replies and goes with him. ~At questioning~!

Questioner: "So, what id your name?"

Mattie: She answered with balled fists, "Mattie." She was scared of what the outcome this questioning would be.

Questioner: "What is your relation to Miller Sallows?"

Mattie: The question was quite shocking. She didn't know what to answer at first. They just met the other day... probably acquaintances? They played tag earlier... was that a friendship thing? Or just to be sure and safe... "I just know him," she said. "Nothing more."

Questioner: "What were you two doing yesterday?"

Mattie: "Wait-- what? Yesterday? How is this connected to the current situation?" she asked. Nothing happened yesterday, she said in her mind.

Questioner: "Some one claimed you were peeping through his window? what was that then?"

Mattie: "Peeping through his window-- what!? I never did such a thing!" she responded. What do they think I am, a pervert? "Wait, if you're talking about peeping through the window today, yes, I did it but it was only to check if he was okay."

Questioner: His expression does not change. "Why so defensive about it?"

Mattie: She looked down. "I'm not...." She then looked back up, "Can we just please go straight to the point? If this will eventually lead to you asking me about who did it, sorry, I don't know."

Questioner: "Why are you avoiding my questions? Is it guilt?"

Mattie: "It's the truth," she flatly answered.

Questioner: "What were you doing the day Miller went comatose?" "

Mattie: She buried her face in her hands. She doesn't like the feeling of being squeezed. "I was just playing tag with him. I was about to go back home, thinking that he went ahead..." She was feeling discouraged already, hopeless.

Questioner: "Why were you playing tag with him? Isnt that childs play? This Miller character must have been very baby-ish"

Mattie: "I see nothing wrong with that," she said. She didn't get the sense of asking her such questions so she told the guy upright, "If you don't have any more sensible questions for me... I'm going." She turned into a tiger and roared then ran away. She had hope in her that Miller will wake up and clear things up.

Questioner: 'Wait!", he called. "One more question. Did he rape you?" He really didnt like this girl

Mattie: She was already too far to hear him.

Questioner: He black marked her name.

Miller: He wakes up, his head throbbing. What happned? he thinks.

Mattie: She runs back to the infirmary and turns back into her nymph form just before she enters. She might scare people to death again. "Miller?" she calls just when she opened the door, panting after the long run. She sees him in one of the beds and rushes to his side. "Miller!" She hugs him, completely forgetting that he's just recovering from injuries.

Miller: He is taken by surprise, and hugs her back. "Where am I? What's going on? All I remember is taking a beating."

Mattie: She lets go and tells him what she just experienced, "I was being squeezed earlier like they wanted to get information out of me about who did this to you and--" She stopped when he spoke. "Oh, well, you're in the infirmary...." Then she hears him say about getting beaten. "Who!? Who did this to you???" she asks with a tone demanding for an answer.

Miller: "Just some campers who weren't happy about me stealing their underwear. It happens." He waved his hand like it was no big deal, even though there was still a bandage on his head.

Mattie: She shakes her head in disappointment. "Don't do that again..." she says. "If you get sent to the infirmary again, I'll--" She almost raised her hand as if in attempting to hit him but she didn't. Poor guy already has a bandage anyway. She just let out a sigh. "Just stop doing that... it's stressing me out." She heads back to the infirmary door and says, "I'll be going for now... bye." She shuts the door behind her as she leaves.

Miller: He is slightly confused, not knowing what to say. He attempts to get up, but like the good Miller we all know and love, he fell.

Mattie:  She hears a faint thud from inside. She immediately opens the door to check it. Her eyes widen when she sees Miller on the floor. "MILLER!" Like what Mattie always does, she runs to his side. "Gods Miller, can't you be left alone for a minute or two???" She grabs him by the arms to assist him.

Miller: "Its not my fault the damn telkhine had a taste for demigods," he mumbles

Mattie: "What?" She didn't understand a word he said. She continued helping him up so he can go back to bed. "I guess there's no leaving for me right now," she said to no one in particular.

Miller: He grins. "You should be happy, only a few can be in the great company of myself."

Mattie: She rolls her eyes then smiles at the joke later on. It's good that he's back to Miller is back to his normal self. "Yeah, right," she says. "After you recover, I'm outta here for real." She sits on a chair close to Miller's bed. "This is the second and last time I'm bringing you to the infirmary," she tells him rather jokingly.

Miller: He looks hurt. "Not if you keep injuring my pride." He laughs at his own joke.

Mattie: She slow claps. "That's a good one." She laughs as well. "But seriously, Miller, stop getting yourself in danger. Help is not always there."

Miller: He rolled his eyes. This sounded very similar to the discusion he had with his mother when he was younger. "Don't get into trouble", she says. "You can see how well it worked out for me. Please, stop stealing, or at least be careful. "If I didn't get into danger, it would come and find me. Personally, I prefer making the decision on my danger." he grins

Mattie: What he said just worried her. "Huh..." was all she managed as she looked away. "I see..." she trailed off. "Just get some rest." She then remembered something from the questioning earlier. "You're a... child of Hermes?" she asked.

Miller: He looks at her, a little puzzled. "Yes" he says

Mattie: She just nods. "Okay, just asking." She smiles at him.

Miller: Something is still troubling him. "How long have I been here?" he asks
