Powers of a Mnemosyne Child

Offensive

  1. Children of Mnemosyne have the ability to write/read weapons out of pure energy which can be used for combat; however, only one weapon can be conjured at a time and it cannot be bigger than the one who conjured it. They can also write/read other objects that are for non-combative purposes
  2. Children of Mnemosyne can launch orbs of ink which burst upon striking the target, temporarily obscuring their vision. They can only launch three orbs of ink at a time.

Defensive

  1. Children of Mnemosyne have the ability to write/read a shield of pure energy, roughly two to three times the size of the user, which will blunt most attacks but slow the movement of the conjurer.
  2. Children of Mnemosyne have the ability to revert time around them for a short duration in order to dodge an attack that was unforeseen. After doing so, this ability cannot be used for a while.

Passive

  1. Children of Mnemosyne have the ability to view the specific past of a person’s life.
  2. Children of Mnemosyne have an innate knowledge of everything ever written and only have to hear its name to remember its details.
  3. Children of Mnemosyne have an eidetic memory and can remember every detail of a previous fight with an opponent.
  4. Children of Mnemosyne can see a few seconds into the future; allowing them to possibly predict the actions of others, but also obscuring their sight at times.

Supplementry

  1. Children of Mnemosyne are able to force everyone around them within a 10-meter radius to remember and dwell on an event from their past that emulates a certain emotion from the affected. The child of Mnemosyne can choose which emotion they would like their targets to feel, be it anger, sadness, happiness, ecstasy or anything in or ecstasy. The user cannot hold the targets under their control for more than a few minutes, and the effects of the power can cause those around them to become positive and motivated from their happy memory
  2. Children of Mnemosyne can use descriptive insults used both against themselves and their opponents to gain a temporary boost in speed and strength. The longer they maintain this boost, the more energy is drained.
  3. Children of Mnemosyne can read/write wings into existence. This enables them to fly; the longer they maintain this state, the more energy it drains. They must rest between flights and cannot make long distance traveling without resting often. However, the wings are vulnerable to injuries and magic; they can also be customized to the user’s preference.
  4. Children of Mnemosyne have the ability to travel back and forth in time, but they are unable to interact with or change past events they are only able to see the events play out. When they go forward in time they only see “possible” futures, that does not mean those future events will come to pass.

3 Months After the Character is Made

  1. Children of Mnemosyne can temporarily rewrite details about the battlefield they are fighting on in order to alter it and gain an advantage over their opponent. This could include things like temporarily eliminating the shadows on a battlefield if they are fighting a child of Nyx or temporarily drying up the water if they are fighting a child of Poseidon. Only one detail can be changed at a time and the change only lasts for a moderate time.

6 Months After Character is Made

  1. Children of Mnemosyne can manifest a person or creature from any book in order to temporarily fight alongside them. The manifestation cannot be larger than 2-3 the size of the user and will dissipate after a short time. The person cannot be overly powerful and the user will have a hard time moving while the manifestation is in place.

9 Months After Character is Made

  1. Children of Mnemosyne can morph into a state of pure imagination. This grants them flight, receive enhancement in some of their abilities (Offensive 1, Defensive 1, 3 Month and 6 Month) and invulnerability to attacks. This effect only lasts for a short time, leaving the user extremely drained and temporarily unable to move afterward.

Traits

  1. Children of Mnemosyne typically have excellent memories, unable to forget details from their past and are therefore immune to the effects of amnesia and other memory-related illnesses.
  2. Though most demigods struggle with dyslexia, children of Mnemosyne usually do so at a lesser extent because their mother is the goddess of the written word.
  3. Children of Mnemosyne can normally learn and decipher other languages incredibly easy. Ex: Hearing a woman speak Chinese would mean the user could somewhat understand even if they never heard the language before. If they then have a lengthy conversation with the woman in Chinese, they’d be considered fluent in the language afterward.
  4. Children of Mnemosyne often grow up to become great authors, English teachers, and historians.

Setting/Location

Swampland Arena

Swamp
  • The arena is a swamp with some forested land surrounding it.
  • The arena is very muddy and watery, with water depth ranging from 3 to 9 feet.
  • Trees grow around the perimeter of the arena, as well as other plants such as ferns and reeds.
  • The area has some forest animals and some water creatures that range in sizes.
  • The arena is rounded with tall trees lining the very perimeter.
  • The arena has some 6 foot tall Greek style statues scattered near the perimeter which can be uses for cover. Some are even sticking out of the water.
  • The arena is open to the sky and elements.
  • The water in the arena changes temperature based on the seasons.


Rp

Zoe: Zoe was standing near one of the nearest statues to the entrance waiting for her opponent in the sun. When is she ever going to get here. Zoe thought to herself throwing her glow stick up in the air and catching it

Rachel: She groans as she heads into the arena. Just my luck. A swamp. She's wearing her katana on her back and her two fans at her side. She made sure that she was wearing brown and green. Such ugly colors. She checks each of her pockets. Okay, that's the sheild, that's the one for my other katana, or more specifically a new one. My pen, slips of paper, ink bottle that magically fills up when empty... Good to go. She nods once and then takes one of her fans in her hand, not opening it, but ready to. Shearching around she spots Zoe.

Zoe: "Finally you got here" Zoe said as she saw the other girl. "I've been here for like 10 minutes" Zoe said as she pocketed her glow stick

Rachel: She grunts. "Excuse me for trying to stay dry and clean." Comes her sarcastic reply. She puts her hands on her hips and glares at the girl. "So, how are we going to do this? Full on fight, or a game of cat and run." Her Japanese accent is thick and heavy. She uses a few Japanese words, forgetting that she wasn't around her siblings, who could understand her no matter what.

Zoe: "Depends on what you want to do cause I'm up for anything" Zoe said as she looked out over the swamp thinking of a terrible joke she could make.

Rachel: She rolls her eyes. "I'm here for a fight, not a romp in the mud. Not to say that it wouldn't be enjoyable I'm sure." She smirks. "Alright, a full on fight it is." She takes a few steps back, taking out her other fan and preading them both wide. She crouchs, ready for any move that Zoe should make. Thank all the gods that I took years of training. Six years of training, and two years of training with these weapons. I'm ready." Her eyes also roam the swamp, quickly, and always coming back to Zoe in seconds.

Zoe: "I don't think we should go out there because one of us might get stuck" Zoe said as she pulled out her glow stick turning it into her sword. Zoe created a light source right in front of Rachel and charged at her swinging her sword right at her arms

Rachel: She steps aside and spins around behind Zoe, blinking away the bright light. He fans flare out again and she crouches, waiting. "Come on. I've had years of training, you'll have to do better than that." She shifts her feet to an offensive position.

Zoe: "You've had years, I've only had 6 months" Zoe said as she sound travelled into a tree above Rachel and fired a beam of light down on her

Rachel: She swears and jumps to the side, barely clearing the shot. Crap. She quickly runs to the base of the tree, so Zoe couldn't see her. She puts away her fans, deciding to use her Katana instead. She quietly climbs the tree, hoping to catch Zoe by surprise.

Zoe: When Rachel disappears out of her sight, Zoe gave up on shooting her light beam and clapped here hands so she could sound travelled over away to the next tree over. When Zoe sound travelled away, she saw Rachel climbing up the tree she was just in and cursed Rachel to sing really loudly.

Rachel: She mentally curses the girl and struggles against the curse, not being able to. As she sings she pulls out her pen and paper, writing 'silent' on the slip, then tossing it into the air. Instantly the arena goes quiet, to noise is made and Rachel is able to quite singing. Never mess with the girl who can write stories. She puts her pen away and the papers, pulling her fan out. 

Zoe: That's weird, why did she stop singing Zoe thought to herself. As she decides that being in the tree isn't a good idea, she tried to sound travel again but nothing happened. Knowing that if she couldn't sound travel the rest of her sound powers didn't, Zoe played to her best abilities, healing and diseases, and started to make Rachel have an extreme case of diarrhea

Rachel: Her eyes widen as she feels her body become sick. Oh gods. She takes another piece of paper out, already written, out. "Heal" She tosses it into the air, it turns to dust and she can feel the effects of the curse slowly reverse. She reaches her hand toward Zoe, making her own curse. "Be silent." She jumps from the tree, running toward the tree that Zoe is in, the arena slowly coming back to life. She takes out her katana, ready to go into close combat.

Zoe: "Oh come on" Zoe tried to say when her curse didn't work. When she saw Rachel running towards her, Zoe made her sword turn back into a glow stick then made an arrow out of sunlight and fired the arrow at Rachel. Once they arrow struck Rachel, Zoe made it disappear then she made another one and she kept this going for 10 times.

Rachel: She quickly whips out her fans to protect herself. As they are made from celestial bronze, they protexted her somewhat. She ducked every time one came toward her, and if it came too close she tried to redirect it away from her, without melting her fans. She cursed colorfully in Japanese and ducked behind a rock. She put away her fans and took out her sword. She had memorized every little thing of the arena, that she had seen. Good. Plan B. "Like the tide fade away, make the sun go away." She chants, the arena starts to grow darker and darker. As it does she she runs from behind the rock, aiming right toward Zoe. She takes out a fan to hold in her right as she holds her sword with her left. He takes a swipe at Zoe's right arm, hoping to distract her.
