Despite having it despised by her father, Ashlyn has the wildest of imaginations. Though sometimes not with enough stars to gaze at, she is constantly dreaming as a child of Asteria always does. She’s admired for her generosity but is extremely unassuming about it. She tends to act shy around those she hasn’t met, except when you get to know her really well, you’ll know that she is loyal enough to give up her life for her friends.


Before he and Asteria (Amanda) married, Anthony was studying a degree in Astrology at University. When the final project was assigned for his course, he was paired up with a woman named Amanda, whose true identity was Asteria, the Titaness of Astrology and Prophetic Dreams. After spending time with her, Asteria found some interest in him and they started to build a small relationship. A few years passed and they got married after they graduated from University. Together, they had a daughter whom they named ‘Ashlyn’, meaning ‘dream’. A few days after Ashlyn was born, Asteria mysteriously disappeared and was never to be seen.

Ashlyn’s childhood: Anthony did a good job raising Ashlyn without Asteria’s help. She grew up with a big imagination and use to always roam the gardens at night to observe the stars. One night, she climbed up onto the roof and would have fallen to her death if her father hadn’t run outside to catch her. Frightened, he took her back inside and promised to keep her locked up in her room when he wasn’t watching her. Ashlyn’s father became too overprotective after that.

When Ashlyn was 3 years-old, Anthony remarried a woman named Eliza Pearce. They gave birth to another girl, whom they named Alessia. Alessia lived with her mother on the opposite side of the city.

When Ashlyn started school, her father tried to keep track of her moves by attaching a small GPS to her school uniform so he wouldn’t lose her. For Ashlyn, school was a way to avoid her father and have a small amount of freedom every day. When she moved into Primary School, she was continuously teased by her classmates for having no mother, which lead her to loneliness for a few years. When she started High School, strange things began to occur in her classroom. She had no control over it, but as innocently as she tried to act, she was expelled numerous times.

When she was 11 years old, her grade was celebrating the last day of school in the school gymnasium. Just as they were finishing up, an angry Hellhound charged into the gymnasium, smashing down a part of the building. It raced after Ashlyn, harming a few people on the way, but not killing. Scared, she ran to the other side, where the destruction was and picked up a large piece of glass that came from a window that the Hellhound smashed. She threw the piece at an unstable part of the roof, bringing it down onto the hellhound and killing it. When Anthony discovered her actions through a suspension letter, he was outraged and decided to homeschool her instead of her causing more trouble in public.

When she was 12 years old, she was attacked by a group of harpies at her house after school. Her father ran upstairs, frightened and scared. Ashlyn tried to fight it with her hands, ending up with a nasty scar on her arm. Suddenly remembering how to defeat the creature, she ran across the road, hoping for the harpies to follow her. A group of cars raced by, and by chance, ran over the group of harpies and killed them. Not knowing what to do after, she ran back into the house.

Her third attack, when she was 13, was an encounter with a Scythian Dracanae at the local park. It spawned out of nowhere, but at first, Ashlyn thought it was friendly. After the illusion faded and the monster was about to attack her, she quickly dodged to the side and started to freak out. She ran back home, the creature chasing after her. Somehow remembering how and unwilling to, she shot a beam of plasma at the monster while she was running. It shot directly at the creature and it disintegrated into ashes.

The night before her 14th birthday (July 1), her younger step-sister, Alessia, was spending the night with her for her birthday. She and Alessia both slept in her room. That night, she woke up from the breeze coming in from the window, the glass panes nowhere to be seen. Under the windowsill was a letter and a small box, attached to two small duffle bags that were sitting on the wooden floorboards. The letter read:

Dear Ashlyn, This is your mother, Amanda. I understand why your father is concerned about you. Firstly, you must know that I am not what you see. My true identity is Asteria, the Titaness of Astrology and Prophetic Dreams. Your father and I marrying make you a demigod, half god, half mortal. I must warn you that being a demigod is unsafe, as monsters like the one you have encountered with can sense your presence. You must flee to Long Island, a place called Camp Half-Blood will be your home. There you will be safe, amongst others of your type. I will see you there, and remember, follow the stars, they know the way. Love, Asteria

After reading the note, she went back to the bed, waking up Alessia and telling her everything. Stunned, she agreed to go with her. Ashlyn turned back to the windowsill and opened the small box, which was black and entrusted with small white gems. A pearl coloured dream catcher necklace sat there, and without hesitation, she put it on. Each taking a duffle bag and Ashlyn gripping the letter, they climbed out of the window and slid down the roof then jumped to the ground one storey below them. Not long after, Anthony rushed outside to the noise they made when jumped off the roof and tried to chase them down. He eventually lost sight of them, so he gave up and walked back home in depression.

Just outside the borders of camp, they were attacked by a Chimera. They both tried to dodge it’s fire-breathing, though Alessia was badly burned on her leg. Ashlyn in determination to make it to camp safely with her step-sister looked inside her own duffle bag and found a Celestial Bronze sword and a Celestial Bronze dagger. With the sword, she managed to cut off all three for its heads with no experience. After killing it, Ashlyn helped her step-sister up the hill. They both got in the borders and headed towards the big house.



  1. Children of Asteria have the ability enchant a single weapon by infusing it with stardust and stellar energy for a short time. Damage dealt by the enchanted weapon is stronger than before, and may produce slight burns on anything that touches it.
  2. Children of Asteria have the ability to focus an intense beam of plasma which will burn anything it touches.


  1. Children of Asteria have the ability to summon a cluster of miniature stars directly in front of them which can be used to block incoming attacks; the stars, however, dissipate quickly.

  2. When the stars are out, children of Asteria always know their location.
  3. Children of Asteria can communicate with the souls of the recently deceased.


  1. Children of Asteria can summon a star large enough for them to stand on, that they can use to ride, the longer the star is maintained, the more energy it drains
  2. Children of Asteria have the ability to create temporary light sources, similar to the concept of a flare, which will light an area for a short time.
  3. Children of Asteria can see a few seconds into the future; allowing them to possibly predict the actions of others, but also obscuring their sight at times.
  4. Children of Asteria have the ability to conjure a dense and hot cloud of stardust, which will suffocate and distract anyone enveloped in it for a short time.

  1. Children of Asteria have the ability to conjure a small supernova, which will burn at anything in its wake on a 10m radius, as well as producing a loud booming sound coming from the explosion. It cannot differ friend from foe and will affect anyone or anything nearby.

  1. Children of Asteria have the ability to summon a large group of undead, about seven, which can then be controlled by the mind of their summoner. The user is immobilized while the corpses attack for them.

  1. Children of Asteria can conjure a living constellation, though the size is limited to no larger than 2 to 3 times the size of the user, and it immobilizes the user while the constellation attacks for them
