Camp Half-Blood Role Playing Wiki:Requesting User Rights

This is the page where users can request user rights. If you feel you deserve user rights, and it will benefit the wiki, then you may place a request below. Please read the instructions carefully before requesting user rights.

Requirements

Chat Mod Rights

• You should be a trusted member of the community.
• You should have a strong history on this wiki. We don't accept people who have only edited a few times.
• You must be a level five user.
• You should have no history of vandalism, sock-puppetry, or rudeness.
• Your Duties will be to maintain chat rules and policy. As you are not a rollback, you may not approve claims or vote on things meant for rbs+. However, the 1 month auto demotion still applies.

Rollback Rights

• You should be a trusted member of the community.
• You should have a strong history on this wiki. We don't accept people who have only edited a few times.
• You must be a level five user.
• You should have no history of vandalism, sock-puppetry, or rudeness.
• Upon running for Rollback, you must pick a department ahead of time, that has an opening and get permission from the Bcrat to join that department: Claiming Department, Human Resources, Research & Development, Support Services. Once you run, if you are successful, depending on which department you are in, you will perform the duties necessary in that department, and assist the Bcrat leading that department.

Administrator Rights

• You must have rollback rights.
• You should be a trusted member of the community.
• You should have no history of vandalism, sock-puppetry, or rudeness.
• Upon running for Administrator, you must pick a department ahead of time, that has an opening: Claiming Department, Human Resources, Research & Development, Support Services. Once you run, if you are successful, depending on which department you are in, you will perform the duties necessary in that department, and assist the Bcrat leading that department. In a case of a bcrat going on vacation, you may be asked to cover running that department while they are gone.

Bureaucrat Rights

• You must have administrator rights.
• You should be a trusted member of the community.
• You should have no history of vandalism, sock-puppetry, or rudeness.
• The only way a bcrat spot will ever open up, is if one of the current 3 bcrats leaves, steps down or is demoted.

Procedure

Nomination

1. Choose to edit a section under "Requests" (either chat moderator, rollback, administrator, or bureaucrat).
2. Add your name as a subheading like this: ===Your User Name===.
3. Give a small statement of why you think you deserve the rights.

Voting

Users will then state whether the user deserves the rights or not. They will either agree, or disagree with the request. Only Rollbacks and up may vote on user rights.

Requests

Requests may be turned down simply because users with the rights are not needed. If your request is turned down, you can try again later when you have a stronger history, or when someone with the rights is needed.

Departments

Claiming Department

This department is primarily responsible for checking any and all claims: Camp claims, BC claims, Pet claims, and Quest or Mission claims. Members of this department are tasked with keeping claim pages up to date and organised. Helping users make claims and get started, as well as adding new users and/or characters to the Users & Characters Lists are some examples of the responsibilities that fall to the Claiming Department.

Human Resources

The Human Resources Department (HR) keeps the Users & Characters Lists up to date, as well as keep track of pages with issues and upkeep work such as categories, images, and organisation. Members of this department are also tasked with making sure that users level up the right way, as well as contacting users about their inactivity.

Research and Development

The Research and Development Department (R&D) is for the users who want to come up with ideas, plans, new projects, things to test, basically stuff that will keep the wiki moving forward. Members or this dept actively poll the wiki and talk to the users about what their needs and wishes are. This department is for users who want to help design things like templates or the main page; basically keeping the wiki looking nice. This is a good department for users who are either strong leaders or able to inspire users to get excited about things. They should also be proactive about getting work done. People in this department need to be able to get stuff done without being told or asked. They’d also be in charge of monitoring the ideas/suggestions board/forum.

Aid & Support Services

The Aid & Support Services Department (A&S) functions like the previous General Support. Members of this dept are tasked with helping users with anything they need such as guidance or direction. A&S also monitors the help and debate forums, as well as lend a hand to other departments that are low on help or have extra work.

When I first started here I was, to say the least, a spoiled brat who had never heard the word no before. That changed after I started figuring things out; that the world doesn't really work that way. People started telling me no I can't do that, no don't put that their or telling me ways I can improve. Honestly, I used to think myself as a perfect person, but the wiki and the people here have taught me that's not true at all. They helped me grow into the person I am now, and that's a darn good thing.

I've even, finally, started helping people code. I bet some people may have been surprised that I even knew what I was doing, because I never once told anyone I was even able to code, which may have helped someone out in the past, but like I mentioned before I used to be selfish. As of recent I've loved doing coding for others, and even helping them out with their personal matters. I know helping people out really doesn't carry much weight, but I did it because I wanted to. There's been a user whose even asked me to monitor chat for them when no other member of the administration team was available. This only happened, because people were arguing when the user, who happens to be on the admin team, had to leave chat. This has happened on multiple occasions, though the arguments usually diffused rather quickly since they had nothing to argue over. I’d also like to point out that I'm always in chat, because I simply have a lot down time and I love coming into chat to speak with others.

In recent months I have been passive aggressive with one user, but I decided, since 2 nights ago now, that I wasn't going to argue with them or even consider being mean to them. It doesn't help me gain anything nor does it help the person either. In matter of speaking I wanna be friends with them if the chance arises, which would be rather nice.

I also want to point out, please don't be biased when you vote. Only upvote me if you truly believe I deserve the position and not because I'm a friend. I don't want to win, because I have friends on the admin team. That's just simply not right in the least. If you honestly don't think I'm ready please downvote me and I'll try again when I am. Whilst I have no doubts you'd be effective at the role, your track record with Nat and your constant use of passive aggression in chat does make me not want to vote a yes, but neither does it make me want to vote a no. You're definitely taking a step in the right direction - by acknowledging your past history here, and I would love for you to achieve rank someday. But I think you need a little more time to work things through, before you're fully ready to commit to being a chat mod. But don't let me discourage you. That's my personal opinion, and as you requested, I voted pretty objectively - otherwise I would've probably been tempted to vote in your favour. I just don't want to rush you into a position you're not ready for, or steer you wrong.

Let me be completely honest with everyone who is reading this right now. I am running for this position because i am tired of watching from the sidelines as everything i have come to love about this wiki begins to decay and die. Explosions in chat because of misunderstandings, people leaving the wiki over feelings that shouldn't have been stepped on, everyone stressed leaving the wiki instead of being excited about RolePlaying. I have at times wanted to leave because of what i had seen but, being the man i am i refused. I continued and felt an even deeper connection to RolePlay and the people of the wiki with this bond the stress and fights i had seen became more and more frequent. The need to run away became a desire to stay and help and by running for a position i can finally do that, i can finally make a change. If i am voted down then i will run again and again because quitting is not something i do. I am Nin vote for me so i can make this a happier place to be.

May the bridges I burn light the way to my future.

Okay, so last time I put up a vote and that was a mistake. I still needed to prove myself that I can cope up with the job of being a rollback. Now, I'm putting it up again since I've continued doing what I think I should do. I've been keeping claims up-to-date for them to be ready for official claiming. Even though I've been a camp helper for over a year, I might still need some help or info on doing stuff but I'm willing to listen and learn. Also, being one who puts up claims for characters, I've experienced how annoying it is when your claim's not being checked for lots of days. So now, I don't want others to be waiting for so long and I'm sick of just looking at long-time claims which are ready for official claiming. And the admin needs more active staff, and I'm willing to add to that.

I know I've been inactive for a couple of months but I've caught up with the work that should be done. If ever I'm not ready yet, I'll try again next time. c:

If you were to write a story with me in the lead role, it'd certainly be . . . a tragedy.

I promised you that if you waited,and proved yourself as an active helper I would give you my vote. You have done a lot for the wiki in the past two months,you have been trained,and know the claiming system really well. I think you will be a perfect Rollback user,and I can not see a logical reason to vote against.Good luck :) ! Yikes o.o

You're a diligent worker, however due to my own disagreement with the claiming issues at the moment, I have not reviewed the quality of work and such so, I'm abstaining, through no fault of yours.
