Name: Elina Armada de la Serre
God parent: Hyperion
Mortal Parent: Gigi de la Serre
Appearance: Her model is Katie Stevens.
Personality: Elina is a lady of respect and some nobility; her mother, despite having given birth to Elina out of wedlock, still took care that she gained some manners and intelligence in the whole process. That connection faded when Elina's mother died of natural causes, and it left a lasting mark, for Elina was still a bit younger than she is now.
Elina is calculated, preferring an organized and planned approach, versus forceful and improvised action. Solving fights with weapons is one thing; outsmarting your enemy is another. With a fighting style like hers, it's better to have a plan, because improper reactions have nearly costed her a few dozen times. She rarely blows it off as a disadvantage of her choice in weapon (sometimes it is exactly that). And considering her line of work... it's better that way.
Elina is quite the observer, and would much prefer to just watch people as they are, instead of actually interacting. She's not antisocial, no. She just isn't one to talk very much at all. Shy? Probably. But would she be willing to talk if she must? Definitely.
History: Gigi de la Serre was a really well-off French woman, who was living life and enjoying it. After all, she was the heiress to her family's fortune, and it was a lot of money. Granted, there was a small catch to it; Gigi needed to marry and have a child. The condition was only attached to ensure that no one but members of the family would be given the family fortune, since it was so valuable.
It seemed like good fortune had been smiling upon Gigi, when she fell in love with a certain handsome young gentleman. He too had a rich family, and the conditions were perfect. Of course, Gigi was never more blissfully unaware that her crush... wasn't exactly a human. It was in fact the Titan Hyperion, in a mortal disguise. Hyperion played his part well though, for the two had "dated" for a time. Until Gigi got pregnant.
The discovery gave Hyperion the cue to disappear off the face of the earth, with a decent pretense to cloak his mortal disguise's disappearance as well. That more or less started a chain reaction of disaster; Gigi was pregnant with a child who'll never see their "father" - at least, that is what Gigi was thinking - and to top it off, she had to raise the child on her own. The audacity was immeasurable. Furthermore, because the child would be born out of wedlock... Gigi wasn't allowed to inherit her family's fortune, for it upset her parents greatly that she was that irresponsible.
On May 4th, 2000, Elina Armada de la Serre entered the world. Imagine Gigi's expression during and after giving birth; it was nothing short of sadness, and pain to some extent. Elina didn't deserve to live, and had it not been for a close family friend's intervention... Gigi would have aborted. But alas, Elina lived, but not a happy life. She was viewed as an illegitimate child by her grandparents, and she'd never come to understand why until she had become of age.
Against the odds though, Elina had a stable childhood, mostly of time spent with her mother and all. Of course, there was the appearance of ADHD and dyslexia when Elina was six years old. It gave her an excuse for struggling some with learning English and French, among other things. But Elina's childhood hit a large rock when she was seven years old. Elina's mother passed away not very long after she turned seven years old. To say she wasn't devastated at the time... was a lie.
Things got complicated when Elina's grandparents refused to take her in. Instead, her estranged aunt had to, because apparently no one else would. Elina won't come to realize that it would make her more of a target; for her aunt was a demititaness too, a daughter of Styx. Come her 10th birthday and it came to being.
Elina and her aunt were out late during the night, when the two were ambushed by a trio of fairly large Hellhounds. The two struggled to fight them off, until Elina unwittingly fired an intense beam of light and slayed one of the Hellhounds. The other two fell to her aunt's war scythe, and both her and Elina were severely drained after everything. Not to mention the former was also severely wounded.
It was not long after that Elina's aunt described everything, from hers and Elina's heritage to the existence of Camp... and its lack of appreciation for their parents. She missed one thing, rather intentionally, because Elina wasn't old enough to understand it yet. This, along with a very overdue letter from Hyperion, would come to make Elina's life harder for the years to come.
It came with monster attacks more or less; more Hellhounds at 11, Harpies at 12, Giant Scorpions at 13, more Harpies at 14, and Scythian Dracanae at 15. It did get harder to fight them off, but training and a pleasant set of wrist blades made it somewhat easier. Some time afterward, Elina's aunt told her of the two factions directly rivaling Camp; the BC and the Champions of Othrys. She had been aware of them both, but chose to not ally with either, because neither appealed to her; however, the CoO's cause spoke something to Elina. She indirectly sought them out; she was willing to fight for their cause, but she didn't want to seem physically affiliated for a reason which presented itself a year later.
She was offered the chance to spy on the BC for the CoO, and Elina was more than happy to take her chances. After all, it wasn't like she was going to be welcomed at Camp; she had grown something of a distaste for the gods and their endless cycle of repression and disrespect.
Weapons: A pair of CB bracer mounted wrist blades.
Why they want to join the BC: She refuses to stand for the repression the gods have cast upon the demigods and demititans, and wants to see that change once and for all. (she's also a spy for the CoO, but this won't ever be disclosed)
Desired faction: Veritum Unitum
Reason for choosing that faction: "The gods have been toying with us since the very day we entered the world. This can't be allowed to continue. We deserve the right to control our own destinies, and if it means fighting for it, then so be it."
|Heinrich Alten ~ Leader of the Broken Covenant|
|"Elina, I give you my greatest welcome on behalf of our Covenant of brothers and sisters. I hope that the purpose of our Covenant suits you well. Cynthia Amoré, the leader of your chosen faction, will speak with you now."|
