Index > Broken Covenant Claiming > Broken Covenant/Violet Smith-Accepted

Name: Violet Smith

Age: Should be 2515 years old,but is actually 15

Gender: Female

Species: Demigod

God Parent: Kronos

Mortal Parent: Lily Smith

Appearance: She has really short red hair. She also has vibrant green eyes. You can usually find her wearing some kind of gold clothing, jewelry, or anything like that. She generally wears short sleeved t-shirts and jeans, and on a rare occasion, a skirt.

Personality: Since she has been stuck in the Lotus Casino for hundreds of years, she is generally just awestruck and confused in the modern world. She is usually really peppy, and hyper. When she sees something she has no idea what it is, like a blender, she becomes like a four-year-old and is awestruck and amazed at it. She is prone to mood swings, though, so she could be hyper and peppy, and then a downer and lazy.

History: In the year 500 B.C, before Percy, or even Sally Jackson were thought of, Lily Smith was a slave in ancient Greece. Lily had commited, in today's world, a few, minor crimes. She had stolen a few (5) loafs of bread, and robbed someone of their money, just so she could survive. She didn't have a home, and oneday, she was caught, and as punishment, was sent to work for a man. One man traded her for another worker, and that happened again and again. Her latest owner was cruel and didn't let her have breaks or lots of luxuries, like a proper bed. One day, a man came and bought Lily. He was kind and didn't beat her and let her have what she wanted. Then, her master set her free. He left her alone on the streets, and when night fell, a man came to her. He took her away to his house. She stayed there for several weeks. A month after the man took Lily in, Violet was born. The man then told Lily that he was really the titan Kronos. A faithful demigod had helped him temporary reform so he could see how the gods had affected the world. Lily then was humbled and asked why he chose to be with her, when he had the titanesses? He then replied that she was more beautiful than any of them and that she seemed to have a pull that drew her to him.

A few weeks after Violet was born, Kronos sent Lily and Violet forward in time to protect them. They ended up in the 1600’s in the U.S. A few days after they arrived, Lily and Violet were found and taken into slavery. Her owner was cruel and didn't let her have breaks or lots of luxuries, like a proper bed. Her mother was forced to work in the fields at her new master's' house, while Violet worked in the kitchen once she was old enough. When Violet was six, her mother was sold to a different family than her current masters. Right before her mother was taken away, she told Violet that she was a daughter of Kronos. Her new master treated her very badly, very much like Lily's first master. Her master then sold her when she was 10 and the gold rush spiked. There, she ran away and came across the Lotus Casino while wandering the streets. She stayed there until a man came and took her out. Looking back on the memory, the man looked like Kronos from what her mother had told her what her father looked like. She was taken out in the mid-1930's and then, was living in various places all over the country, foster homes that the U.S put her in, slowly learning about the modern world that she was now in, and then came back to Las Vegas, where she ran into the casino again. The casino had changed appearances from the last time she was there, so she wandered in, as she heard laughing from what sounded like a 12 year old. By this time, she was about 13.

This time, she escaped by her own will. She was confused by the games that were pointless, and the stuff in the casino, along with all the adult stuff, and wanted out. So, she snuck out one night after discovering that the Lotus flowers were drugged after she overheard one of the Lotus eaters discussing the results of the drug. (don't know if they actually do it, just pretend they do.) She was chased out of the casino and then she walked the streets of Las Vegas, for a few days, and there she ran into her first monster, a hellhound. A demigod nearby visiting family killed the monster and took her to camp. She was there for a few days and wasn't claimed. While she was there, she had a Hephaestus kid forge her a CB scythe, which she named φορά, or Time. She was walking around camp and found that lots of the kids did have weapons, while she didn't. So she went to the forges and asked to have her CB scythe forged.

Since most were claimed when they arrived, she felt abandoned and forgotten. So she left. She had heard about some demigods that felt the same way towards their parents while she was walking around camp. So she followed them to the BC. When she decided to follow them, she didn't think things through very much. As soon as she came to her first road, she was almost ran over by a car. Thankfully, one of the people walking by grabbed her and then pulled her to safety. The person then asked her why she would be so stupid as to walk by a road without looking both ways. She then replied that she wasn't stupid but was new to this world. The person then asked her where she was from and she said, a long, long, time ago. (in a galaxy far, far, away XD) The person then gave her a quick survival guide pep talk thing to help her survive. What she didn't know was that the person was a demigod too. He then pointed in the direction the camp was and left. She followed the strange man's directions, and since she didn't have her bearings just yet, she veered off course, and came to the BC.

Weapons: She prefers to use a CB scythe, but does pretty good with a sword or daggers.

Why she wants to join: She feels abandoned by Kronos, as he never claimed her or even acknowledged her. (or so she thinks. *Evil laugh*)

Faction She Would Like To Join: Veritum Unitum

Why Should She Join That One: She feels angry that the gods let her mother be taken away, and feels that the gods are heartless rulers who should be overthrown. She also believes that we serve under the oppression of the gods, that we should be our own rulers and not be forced to do things for our parents/the gods.

Comments

  • Considering how Kronos is stuck in Tartarus I don't know if he could have a child..
  • She escaped? what was she doing when she escaped? you are fully aware demigods on the street get attack much faster right?
  • i don't know if its possible to get out of the lotus casino on your own (however so you may argue your points)
  • what was her first monster?
  • how did she get her weapon??

that's all the problem I see hope to see you soon

SO, i looked and fixed most of your questions, but to answer some of you questions, Kronos was really in Tartarus, and he was possessing a body. Also, it is possible to get out of the LC, as Percy and friends did. all you have to do is not eat the lotus flowers. BookloverNow1 (talk) 00:53, February 15, 2016 (UTC)

Checked, as per the claimant's request

  • Chronos /can/ have a child, as the claim is set before the PJO series of books wherein Chronos is permanently scattered through Tartarus, however you do need to explain how he ended up on earth and why Chronos would choose to sleep with a slave.
  • How did Violet grow up? Was she made to work in the fields or in the house? Did she know her father's parentage? How did Lily manage to escape the plantation with such a young daughter? (You could use Harriet Tubman here, as she's a daughter of Hermes in universe.)
  • Who took her out of the Lotus Casino originally?
  • Did she have an awareness of time while there? If she could escape by choosing to, how did she? Remember that the Casino is extremely difficult to leave as time does pass at a completely different rate, and Percy etc were chased down by Lotus Eaters when escaping.
  • How did Violet explicitly hear about the Broken Covenant and how did she get there? How did she find the Hephaestus kid who made her weapon?
  • How does a couple of centuries old demi-god manage to survive in a different time, with cars and various other technologies? I'd advise you to put a little but more detail on how she managed to find her way to the Covenant.
  • Why does she choose Veritum in particular? Her reasons seem extremely vague.

LipstickYou know you love me, XOXO gossip girl  ~Alex CrownA

in answer to some of your questions, a mysterious man came and took her out of the LC. she also did not have an awareness of the time, and i changed it to where she was chased out of the LC. She also heard about the BC by overhearing some other people going to the BC, and she got there by following them to it.

(this is really a note to myself)

I did the first one, and the the second one. along with the third one, fourth, and fith ones. and sixth one. BookloverNow1 (talk) 21:57, February 20, 2016 (UTC)

Almost there, just a few things left to fix

  • Parents can only stay with titans/gods for a very short amount of time. at most, maybe under a year if EXTREMELY WELL EXPLAINED. Being with a titan for many years is definitely not allowed, please fix this
  • nitpicky but, did she run away because she thought he was crazy? or why did she run away?
  • violet didn't work as a baby right? please clarify
  • How did she get to the lotus hotel; i.e. did someone tell her the location, did she come across it, please clarify
  • As a subpoint to the one above, violet was the one to get to the hotel right? TBH if she was like 6, there is no way she would get there. I mean, she is six. It isnt realistic
  • Was the person who took her out kronos?
  • empousi is too strong for only two demigods. Please choose a light monster from here.
  • the last instance of kronos would be impossible because he was very much sent back to tartarus, so could you perhaps change this?

all i see right now, hope to see you back

Mamamoo1  is coming back for you~ 19:16, February 21, 2016 (UTC)

Ok, so there are a few things I see:

  1. In your claim you state, "There, she ran away and came across the Lotus Casino while wandering the streets. She stayed there until a man came and took her out." However, the Lotus Casino is NOT AT ALL easy to escape from. It is made so that nobody ever wants to leave; Percy, Grover and Annabeth struggled to escape it and when they tried, they were hased by an extremely large number of Lotus Eaters. Please expand on why this man would risk his life to save Violet from the Lotus Eaters, and how they managed to escape.
  2. How would she know what Kronos looked like? Since her mom took her and ran away right after Violet's birth, how does she know what he looks like? (I'm a bit confused by this) Also, please clarify whether it really was Kronos or not. Violet doesn't need to know but for us claim checker people, please clarify this.
  3. Why would she go into the same casino that trapped her for like a whole centruy? Surely nobody would do that without a VERY good reason....
  4. You say she escaped by pure will. HOW? How did she realize the flowers were drugged? And if she knew before hand, once again, why would she go back if she has been there before and barely got out.

Yeah, that's what I see. Thanks. "You know what they say... Opposites attract." Merlin Is Magical Tumblr lmx6eywomf1qey6nyo1 500

ok. so i changed the time thing, and it is now a month, i also fixed the running away part. along with the age working, and the LC finding. also fixed the age finding the LC. also, the person who took her out WAS indeed kronos. i also changed the moster to a hellhound, and i changed the last thing. thanks for checking!

ok. thank you for checking, and the man who came and took out Violet from the LC, was kronos, so that's why he would risk his life for her, as she is his daughter, and since he is a titan, the lotus eaters knew not to mess with him. i also changed the lookes like kronos, and it was actually Kronos as mentioned above.  i changed the LC finding. And before, she was like grover in the book, and didn't want to leave, but the man (kronos) dragged her out. i also changed the finding out part. thanks for checking.

Unfortunately, I have to bring up a very inconvenient issue regarding your claim—mainly with how Kronos was able to interact with a mortal.

In the series, Kronos didn't simply possess Luke. He required demigods' allegiance to reform pieces of his soul one by one in the golden sarcophagus and he also planned to get a hold of the golden fleece to quicken his return. As well as, he needed a host body that was not a mortal or a monster (or else the host would die from the essence of a titan). Kronos' return would be an incredibly difficult feat and I don't think Kronos would go through all the trouble just to procreate with a slave.

Now let's move on to the good news! On the bright side, having a child of Kronos isn't impossible but it's just difficult. It'll require the child to be born back in the times of the First Titanomachy (prior to, during, or at the end). However, that'll also mean that you'll need to explain how your character has been alive for the past few millenniums. If you need any clarification or have any questions, feel free to hit me up with a message on my talk page and I'll try to get back to you as soon as I can! c:

SO Hi. i saw the part about being born in the Titanomachy, and the reason she has been alive is because of the LC. I am also confused on the years of the Titan thing. i looked it up, and no results. also on the kronos possessing a body thing, i really have no idea on how else to put it, so that's what I ended up putting. If you have any suggestions, that would be a help. BookloverNow1 (talk) 02:59, March 5, 2016 (UTC)

well you can make it that she was born before the war and was asleep or kept hidden all these time? just a suggestion..

Behind those cold hard computer screens.....SuitIsASexyWhoreThere’s a human heart beating away its emotions…

thanks for the suggestion. i changed it and i hope that it will work.BookloverNow1 (talk) 18:45, March 6, 2016 (UTC)

Hey Book. Thanks for your time and patience. I have a few questions for you but then I'm sure that myself, Mel or Kevin would be more than happy to claim it. This is an interesting claim but there are a few things that I would consider:

  • The slave part is okay for me. However, I'd give a rough idea of the area/timeline that she came from? Perhaps she was a slave during Greco-Roman times, the Confederacy or the Boer Wars as examples. As Kevin eloquently said iirc, you do need to explain how Kronos managed to temporarily reform or whether this was before his fall in the First Titanomachy, but I think it's definitely an interesting concept.
  • The Gods/Titans are forced to leave their children young, for the rule of Divine Interference. Of course Kronos being a titan, this rule probably would be ignored, but I imagined that he would leave pretty quickly to avoid drawing the ire of the Olympians on his lover and daughter. Where were they? Perhaps in a time bubble?
  • If she's released in the 30's, how does she manage to survive in the kinda modern world on her own? Is the time between her entering the casino or not that big? Why would she head to Las Vegas and go into this random casino? Vegas only legalised gambling in 31. It'd seem odd.
  • Why would the Lotus Eaters talk about enslaving people near Violet? (I'd have her time powers kick in, so that the girl knows something's wrong. I imagine a Kronos kid would be sensitive enough to time to be suspicious, even untrained.)
  • I assume she went to camp before the Second Titan War? Why do they let her in camp? Why do they forge her weapon? Surely, she'd be forbidden as the Olympians really hate Kronos.
  • How does the man know that she's a demi-titan and looking for the Broken Covenant?
  • I think you need to add a bit more on her reasoning, like /all/ factions of the BC apart from Civitas want to overthrow the gods, but in different ways. Veritum wants to rid the world of magic completely, and all gods, titans, monsters, demigods etc. I think you'd need to explain her feelings towards that.

LipstickYou know you love me, XOXO gossip girl  ~Alex CrownA

thanks SO much for checking my claim. i have have done the timeline, and the olympians had really no idea that Lily or Violet existed. i also fixed why she went in the second time. the Lotus eaters where standing by one of the games that she was playing and they didn't notice her. no one else was around so they assumed that she wasn't there ethier. She did go to camp b4 the second war, but as she wasn't claimed,  no one knew who her parent was. The man was the head of the BC (i guess) and he could sense she was one? I fianally did the why kronos was able to come with her. hope that will be all. thx. BookloverNow1 (talk) 02:24, March 7, 2016 (UTC)

Hey there book me again here to do my job~

  • I checked a ton of myths and it was said that humans were made AFTER the Titanomachy (first one that is) and so I dont think the mom would meet Kronos...
  • I've checked some resources that many of the places from greek myth moved from Greece to the state so I dont necessarily think that the Lotos Hotel would be in navada when america wasnt even discovered yet...

Behind those cold hard computer screens.....SuitIsASexyWhoreThere’s a human heart beating away its emotions…

  • Timescale is definitely a difficult thing to discern - as there are many conflicting myths on when humans were created. In my last comment, I referred to the /second/ titanomachy, but I agree mostly with Mel. (the myths aren't clear, but it's likely humans weren't widespread by then.) However, the way I'd personally do this is have Kronos meet the woman while he was reforming, but before he possessed Luke. Have him impregnate her, and then send the child back in time to protect it as a contingency plan should the titanomachy fail? I don't know the specifics, but as long as it doesn't change or influence canon events, it should work.
  • ,Well the claim says that she went to the Hotel in the 1930's. America was definitely discovered then, and it is likely that America became the center of the Greek Myths around this time (building of the Empire State etc) However you'd have to answer how she managed to stay alive for such a long period of time beforehand and not aged.

Sorry for the comments, but you (Book) asked my advice so I thought I'd give some suggestions :-) if you can't figure out a solution, I'd be more than happy to help you work one out or start an easier claim. Thanks ^-^

LipstickYou know you love me, XOXO gossip girl  ~Alex CrownA

SO, hey. thanks for checking the claim. so i have fixed the history, and the time issue. as for the head of the bc. yes. i just didn't know his name. thanks again. i hope that will be all. Bye! BookloverNow1 (talk) 02:12, March 12, 2016 (UTC)

As said before humans were not widespread and even if they were a lot of them there was big flood in greek myth remember? (yes it happened in greek myth people can check if they doubt me) so my question now is why did kronos pick the mother? and how did they survive the flood? (you can say they were save afterwards but like I said this happen AFTER the titanomachy...)

As I mentioned before...you could just make her asleep and woken up by someone... it would make it a bit simpler..

Behind those cold hard computer screens.....SuitIsASexyWhoreThere’s a human heart beating away its emotions… 14:44, March 17, 2016 (UTC)

So, thank you for checking the claim, and since Kronos sent them forward in time, they escaped the flood, and were safe. and the reason kronos chose Lily was that she had a certain pull to her. I guess I could say she was the granddaughter of eros or aphrodite so she had that sort of pull, or something like that.

  • Why was she put into slavery again? The only ethnicities really used for salves were africans/african americans, and native americans, so this confuses me and seems a bit illogical as a girl who's mother was a slave in greece probably isn't either of those.
  • I don't think the "she grew tired" response would be good enough to get her out of the casino. Remember, she is processing time differently
  • Why would the bc member just let the girl go to bc? I would assume bc is highly selective, considering you have to have motive and they are at threat of spies. She gave him no reason to think she was bc material

Mamamoo1  is coming back for you~

ok. so thank you for checking my claim again, and i have changed the history to fit the things you said. she has now commited a few crimes, and changed different masters, so she was a worker, and then became a slave. as for the LC, she now was confused by the pointless games and adult stuff (content).
