Etty was thirteen when the centaur attacked her, and while the other demigod wasn't hurt, she still felt guilty. Etty came out with a concussion, but that girl, Lolli, could've gotten hurt. All about her:

Name: Etty Veisi

Age: 17

Personality: Strong willed, but flexible. She's able to adapt. She loves a good laugh and hates downers. Her upbeat attitude was all she had in the tragedy of things. Etty is very compassionate and constantly worries about the well being of her love ones. Sometimes she has a habit of putting others far before herself, and hates that she isn't strong enough to protect everyone to the fullest. Very hard on herslef, she's quick to blame herself for any problems that come to play.

Background

Mother: Marie Veisi (Deceased)

Father: Astraeus

Gaurdian: Emma Veisi

History

How they met:

Astraeus had watched Marie for quite a few years. Every night, the Shepard's daughter would lay amidst their sheep and speak to the stars. She'd tell them her troubles and aspirations. It wasn't until she cried to them, mourning her mother's untimely death, that Astraeus couldn't resist the urge to see her. He'd fallen in love with the green eyed girl, who was molded by olive skin, and framed with inky black hair.

He'd disguised himself as a wanderer, lost in their Israeli Fields of endless greenery. Her father welcomed him, as a kind hearted man would, and in exchange for his stay he worked with their sheep. This gave him time to bond with Marie and by day five she'd fallen in love. By day seven, they had shared their love for each other, and the next morning he was gone.

While the god left with her heart, he was sure he left her with a child.

Tragedy:

Her confession to her father made him send her away. While he could not forgive her, he could send her to someone who could offer womanly support. She was sent to live with an estranged second cousin in New Jersey, USA. While her cousin was helpful, she was far from affectionate. The environment was cold and sometimes Emma felt more like a warden than anything.

Once Marie was on her feet, she moved to live on her own. Being only 18 made this difficult, but she managed by working multiple jobs after her daughter was born. Etty, for the most part, was a good child. She was very responsible and independent. It was only when she was sick, that she proved to be difficult.

This difficulty lead to her demise at three years old. Etty had a bad fever and kept her mother up all night. One of Marie's jobs included cleaning a day care, so she was able to bring Etty along with her. In the car Etty screamed and hollered the whole ride. This distracted the already sleep deprived Marie, and lead to her crashing into another vehicle. Marie died on impact. In the other car was a father and his nine year old child, dead.

The Curse

The only one to have lived was the young Etty. Unfortunely, her survival lead to her curse. You see, the child in the other car was a beloved daughter of Hera. In her rage, she cursed Etty, seeing her as the cause for this tragedy. Deciding that this child shouldn't have the priviledge of living beyond her own child's age, she cursed her to have a scent with two times the potency of your average demi-god. To counter the curse as best as he could, Astraeus gifted his daughter with a compass.

She found the compass at her cousin Emma's home. Emma had taken her in, as she once did for her mother. That is where she found her compass, that carried no interest for the three years old. As Etty grew, so did her energy. As Emma grew, her patience shrunk. As soon as Etty was old enough (5 years), she put her in girl scouts in order to keep the child busy and out of trouble.

It was because of them that she went looking for the old compass she'd found two years ago. She was disappointed to find that it was broken. The arrow simply spun, never settling anywhere, but seeing fancy scripted words on the back of it piqued her interest. According to her cousin, the pocket watch styled compass read:

"Eternal Care, from your Eternal Parent. "

Thinking it was from her mom, Etty never let it leave her side. She was so happy about it, she showed it to her troupe leaders and troupe. This caused once of the leaders to become good friends with Etty and her aunt, also making the other girls jealous with the obvious favortism. The dislike of Etty continued as she got older, since this particular troupe leader decided to follow Etty through each troupe as she grew.

First Attack:

Trouble didn't come for Etty until four years later, when she was nine. She and her troupe had gone on a camping trip. Each member had paired up, conveniently enough, this left Etty alone. Each girl was to identify plants and bugs in the surrounding area, all of them being told to keep close. Etty followed those directions, until she heard the snuffles of a horse. Full of glee, she rushed to the source, only to find a demonic version of the pony she had in mind. It's mane was made of fire, nostrils spewing smoke, and body reeking of sulfur.

With a scream she ran, but had fallen off course. Reaching for her compass, she accidentally pulled out the usually haywire one. So discombobulated, she didn't even realize its realized had settled on a direction. She followed it, and was quickly approaching camp, when her closest friend and Troupe leader, saved her.

It turned out her troupe leader, Miss Sinclair, was a nymph. With a bow and arrow made of celestial bronze, she shot down the horse. Without explaining to Etty what just happened, Sinclair took the young demigod home. She'd told the other troupe leader that there was an urgent emergency back home.

Once home, Sinclair didn't know what to tell Emma. The nymph was new at this whole, "on the field", thing and didn't know how to convince a mortal to let her take their child. So, instead of telling the truth, she lied. To Emma's knowledge, Etty would be going on a Girl Scouts country wide adventure for a year. Of course, for old Emma who put Etty in Girl Scouts to keep her away, this was fantastic.

In a couple of hours, Etty was packed and on her way. The young girl was confused, not understanding how this "trip" correlated with the monster. On their way to safety, Sinclair explained.

Discovering Herself:

The nymph ended up taking Etty to someone with more experience in this line of monster fighting. Since Sinclair didn't really associate with Camp Half Blood quite yet, she brought her to the only other demigod she knew. This woman's name was Sarah, a daughter of Aries. While the War God had a bad reputation for his temper, Sarah was the complete opposite. Sarah was supposed to take Etty the rest of the way to Camp Half Blood, but she'd always wanted a daughter. Taking advatage of the situation, she decided to raise Etty as her own, not realizing how big of a risk that'd be. Sarah was patient in teaching Etty about her heritage and the dangers that came with it, much like a mother would.

She taught Etty how to defend herself, what type of monsters were out there, and how to survive the world of a demigod. At one point, Etty even had a demigod friend, whose father was also a demigod. Unfortunately, the four demigods in one place, on top of the potency lead to immediate consequences. Etty was twelve when the centaur attacked her, and while the other demigod wasn't hurt, she still felt guilty. Etty came out with a concussion, but that girl, Lolli, could've gotten hurt. All of this, because Etty was a strong attractant to monsters.

Road to Camp Half-Blood:

As Etty got older, the monsters grew stronger. At 17, life was proving to be difficult. She and Sarah had to keep on the move nonstop and even that didn't always help. Etty had discovered that her compass only worked in the presence of monsters, and while it lead her to safety, sometimes that safety was miles away... sometimes it was right around the corner. It had helped on multiple occasions, with their escapes, but quickly proved to not be enough.

Eventually monsters began to come in groups. It was a flock of harpies that proved to be too much of the pair. Sarah ended up becoming incredibly injured and her energy levels were low. They'd run out of ambrosia and Etty couldn't keep other oncoming monsters away on her own. Luckily, the compass had slowly been leading them to Camp Half Blood, and while Etty didn't know this, Sarah did.

For both of their sakes, Sarah sent Etty to leave her and follow the compass. Despite her efforts, Sarah had given up the idea of always having Etty by her side. She kept the sword for herself, but the daughter of Astraeus was given a bow with arrows. It ended up being a day's walk to camp half blood. In this day, Etty could not sleep. It was monster after monster and she didn't reach the camp gates unscathed. She was burned from one of those demonic horses. Claw marks covered her calve, from a hellhound's large par. A gash on her head threatened her own life, from slipping and hitting her head on a tree... this she was most embarrassed about, but she made it.

With shaky legs, she fell into camp. She made it, but barely.

Personal Items:

Bow and Arrow

Compass (only works in the presence of monsters, can lead her to safety although the safety may be tempory and the distance is uknown.)
