A basic overview

A girl named after the famous myth of Orpheus she grew up with a strange curse. A curse which cause peoples lives to shorten. This caused her mother to die in a car crash and two other foster parents to die tragically. The curse doesn't effect half-bloods the same way, only causing minor bad luck. Despite this she is a very cheerful, happy go lucky, and motherly personality. She doesn't want to be seen as depressed, sad or apathetic. This has only doubled after she found out the reason that people she loved died.

Basic Appearances

She has brown hair, often tied up in a pony tail with hair pins in the Roman numbers of 22. She has ember eyes and often dresses in calm colours, often with a splash of red.

Basic History

Her mother Rodin Rose came to know Thanatos after the death of her father. He watched her grieve and a romance started between the two. She never knew that he was a God and soon she was pregenet. Thanatos felt guilt over possible using the women grief and left, months later Eurydice was born. She was raised in New Orleans until she was four years old where she and her mother was in a car crash. Eurydice survived but her mother didn't.

After becoming an orphan at the age of four and bouncing between different foster homes, out of the five foster families she went to four people died in accidents. Rumours spread about her that she was a charm of death, and the people who fostered her would end up dying.

Though she tried her best for the rumours not to affect her, she did spread nights crying alone. She swore she would be happy, then maybe she wouldn't bring death. If she was kind, and caring people wouldn't be scared of her.

When she was 11 when she was first attacked by a monster. A large black dog with glowing red eyes,attacked her on her way home from school. She managed to find a hiding space and waited until the creature would leave. She was viable shaken and with no reason for the attack she hoped that life would go back to normal.

Though that didn't happen, slowly her powers began to awaken. She would started to feel slightly nauseous when around mortals and seeing the cloak above their head go down quicker. Monster were mostly rare, but she was haunted by nightmares of all the foster family members she had lost.

She carried living in the foster system, bouncing between families. Between not being able to explain the monster attacks and the death of people around her the rumours only spread more. Though when she was 13 she steeled down with Francis family. Who treated her like a daughter, despite the death of her foster mother when she was 14.

During this time she had a dream, about a man with two black wings and covered in a dark purple cloak. His voice sounded like she was underwater but he explained the story of Orpheus and how he once had a cult based around this story.

She woke up with a air-soft with engraving of ancient Greek. When she pulled the trigger it transformed into a heavy stygian iron sword which was two big and heavy for her to wield comfortable. She tried to explain this to her foster parents but they just saw a broken air soft gun and grounded her for not telling them that she bought it.

When she was 15 and she was attacked by a harpy and saved by a member if camp half-blood did she have any idea who or what she was. The half-blood took her to Camp Half-Blood and gave her basic sword training so she wasn't as bad with her blade.

When she arrived at the camp she went to the Infirmary to patch up some of injures she had. Here the curse was first discovered, and she came aware that all the death around her might be her own fault, she promised she would try to smile for herself and them.

Her third day at camp she was claimed by Thanatos.

She has been at camp for a week.

The Curse

Eurydice Rose is affected by a curse which causes death to come to the people around her. The curse only effects mortals who she has grown close to and spend a lot of time around her in person. If these two conditions are met these mortals will likely die of tragic accidents or just heart attacks. Though it does seem to effect each mortal differently, bring swift death to some, or years later to others. When the curse starts to effect a person they will start to experiences bad luck and omens of death.

On the other hand, Half-Blood, Monsters and Magical creatures do not seem to be affected by the curse to the same level. Most Half-Bloods will have more bad luck when she is around but nothing fetal. Monster and Magical creatures do not seem to be effected by the curse at all.

Because of this she has to become a year round member of the camp.

The origins of the Curse come from primordial goddess of Night, Nyx, as a punishment for her mother for making Thanatos feel guilty over having relationship. The curse started as soon as Eurydice breathed in her first breath.

Basic Weapon Info

Rebirth a heavy single handed sword that Rose can barley wield. Their is a engraving on the blade are words in Hellenistic Greek which reads, "Highest of the Gods". It's mundane form is an air-soft gun which doesn't work. On the handle it reads "Good hunting Great Hunter". She can pull the trigger to transform it into it's sword mode.

(The Sword is a references to the god Zagreus how is thought to be the possible god of Death and Rebirth. The Sword is a remember to stay hopeful despite her curse)

Powers

Offensive

1. Children of Thanatos can use astral energies to make weapons for a short period of time, the larger the weapon, the more energy consumed. Only 1 weapon may be created at a time and it cannot be bigger than 2 or 3 times the size of the user.
2. Children of Thanatos have the ability to drain some of the life force out of a person, so that they become weaker, slower, and almost sedated for a short time. However, using this in succession will weaken the power’s effect.

Defensive

1. Children of Thanatos have the ability to conjure a protective dome of astral energies around them, which will protect the user from attacks for a short time.

Passive

1. Children of Thanatos can sense any death, whether it be mortal, demigod,nymph or monster.
2. Children of Thanatos can communicate with the souls of the recently deceased.
3. Children of Thanatos heal slightly every time they deal damage to their opponents.
4. Children of Thanatos are able to see the lifespan of others, but are forbidden to share information about the lifespan in any way.

Supplementary

1. Children of Thanatos have the ability to Shadow Travel, to teleport from shadow to shadow; the further the distance, the more energy drained.
2. Children of Thanatos are able to call forth recently deceased spirits to aide them for a short time.
3. Children of Thanatos are able to enchant weapons with soul-damaging powers, the effect only lasts for a short time.
4. Children of Thanatos can bend shadows around them, concealing them for a short time.

3 Months After Character is Made

1. Children of Thanatos are able to feast on the darkness around them and empower themselves for a short time, enhancing their strength and speed. After the effect wears off, the user will be somewhat worn out and unable to use the power again for the rest of the fight.

6 Months After Character is Made

1. Children of Thanatos have the ability to temporarily split their souls in order to create a duplicate of themselves to aid them in combat. This duplicate and can only fight using whatever weapon the user has and possesses a weaker version of their powers. The user and the duplicate will possess a telepathic link. The longer the duplicate is maintained, the more energy is drained.

9 Months After Character is Made

1. Children of Thanatos have the ability to morph into a spirit for a short time. Whilst in this state, they are invisible (except to those gifted with powers over necromancy), intangible, able to fly, and their powers over astral energies and necromancy are enhanced. Though they are intangible by default, they can make themselves tangible to attack others or if they wish to be seen. If they attempt to attack anyone while still intangible they will automatically become visible and tangible. While in this state they are also able to drain the life-force of anyone they touch to a slight extent, however they cannot completely drain the life-force of the person. The user is extremely drained once the transformation ends, unable to move and could possibly faint.

• How did she get her curse?
• How did Thanatos gift her the sword. With consideration to the divine intervention law, I would suggest through a dream.
• 15 is too late for her first monster attack. Please change it from 9-11. Afterwards, add her life after attack but before Camp, if you want her to arrive at 15.
• Since ghosts aren't considered as monsters, you have to pick another set of monsters from Category:Easy Monsters. The ghosts can still be there, but they're more of a backstory.

• An issue with the curse is that the Fates ultimately control the fate of both mortals and immortals alike and it's said that not even gods can defy/tamper with fate. So, a curse that manipulates fate does bring up some problems with regards to its plausibility.
• Traditional orphanages are no longer used in the US; they have since been replaced by the foster care system.
• As a young child wandering the streets on her own for two years, why was Eurydice never taken back into the foster care system by social services/child protective services?
