John Reed was born and raised in New York city. He got a job working in an old bookstore right after high school, and rented an apartment there. He felt at home in the city and loved to explore it, as a result he was prone to getting lost. One day after losing himself in an unfamiliar neighbourhood John decided to ask for directions, he looked around and saw a young woman sitting on a park bench. When he walked over to her she smiled, introduced herself as Ariadne and asked him if he needed help finding his way. As Ariadne lead John to a familiar part of the city they talked and john began to fall for her. In the end the two of them found a coffee shop around the corner from Johns apartment and had their first date. They continued to see each other for two months, Ariadne didn’t tell John the truth, until just before she left. One week before leaving Ariadne told John the truth about herself and about the Greek gods, she told him she couldn't stay and by the end of the week she was gone. John was devastated and confused after Ariadne left but he got on with his life, at least for nine months, until Ariadne reappeared with their new-born son. She stayed for an hour then left the two of them, most likely forever. She left behind a very detailed map to the camp hoping with it even John would be able to fund his way.
Evander Reed grew up with his father in a small apartment in New York City. His father took ok care of him but he wasn’t really cut out for parenthood. Evan would spend most of his time just sitting around the bookshop where his dad worked doing puzzles, it wasn’t a bad childhood, and he was relatively happy although he really wanted his father to pay more attention to him. With ADHD and dyslexia school was hard for Evan so he cut class, a lot, his dad didn’t seem to mind.
When he turned 13 things changed. He began having bazaar dreams about mazes, about the labyrinth. But they were just dreams, the monsters though were real. Evan's first encounter with monsters was when he was 13. One day while he was on his way home from the bookstore he was attacked by a gang of teenagers, they looked about his age, well, until they turned in a pack of telchines. Fortunately for Evan he was fast and he got away with only a bite on his left arm, the city was like a colossal maze and he was able to lose them in it. He later convinced himself that it had just been an ordinary gang of drugged up teenagers, they had a dog, that's what bit him...didn't it? Evan didn't have any other memorable encounters with monsters until high school, when he saw one of his teachers changed into a twisted snake-haired monster, one of the gorgons. Evan stopped going to school completely, but his dad had just started dating some other woman and he was home barely enough time to notice. The school began calling to see why Evan wasn't going in but John dismissed this as well and made excuses, his son wasn't happy at school and a few days of could hardly do to much damage, he reasoned. So Evan spent his time sitting in his room shaking in fear. John Reed finally realized something was wrong after being accidentally knocked unconscious by Evan holding a baseball bat. Evan had been so wound up he'd attacked as soon as the door opened, expecting some twisted monster. John was not amused and so he did what he in his own words “should have done a long time ago” and dropped off Evan at camp half blood, where he is now waiting to be claimed.
This needs improvement. Fix things up by using these points below and you should be good to go:
- When Ariadne stayed for that one hour, did she explain who she was?
- How could he survive for 15 years without an attack? The attacks usually begin around the age of 12 or 13. Sometimes earlier.
- Why did Evan hit his dad with a baseball bat?
- How did John know about camp and where it was?

I Fixed it!!!
- Ariadne told John all about gods and monsters, she left a map to camp when she dropped off Evan
- I changed it John was now attacked at an earlier stage
- Evan was paniced and thought his dad was a monster.
If monsters were that easily tricked, and he were already that good at using his powers that young, he wouldn't even need camp
Wouldn't the school call his father if he suddenly stopped showing up to class? The true genius shudders at incompleteness and usually prefers silence to saying something which is not everything it should be. 00:21, October 19, 2012 (UTC)
