Name: Indiana "Indie" Black
God Parent: Aeolus, Zeus, Hades
Current Age: 17
Mortal Parent Name: Willow Elliot/Monica Black
Personality: Indie is an extremely free spirit that hates authority and complying to the rules of society, which often has her leaving stores with her pockets full of items she didn't pay for. Along with this, she has an extremely stubborn personality. If her mind is set on a certain aspect, there is not much you could do to change her perspective. She is also a fierce believer in equality (especially feminism) and takes it to the next level, even coming off as misandric at times. Despite her intense personality, Indie usually interacts with others in a friendly manner, unless they seem close-minded or uneducated.
Dirk and Willow Elliot had always had a troubled marriage. While they had once loved each other passionately, it seemed that they could no longer agree to anything anymore. For example, Dirk had always wanted a child, yet Willow felt like Dirk was not responsible enough to raised a child and refused to do it alone. Along with that, Dirk was constantly on business trips, which fueled Willow's suspicion that her husband might be having an affair.
The fury that had been growing inside her fueled a need to get back at her husband. When he left on business trips, she'd have affairs with various men. Willow would then flaunt it in Dirk's face by leaving evidence of her many flings, but not enough for him to outright confront her. One of the men she had an affair with was one of Dirk's business partners, who had barely given Willow any person information about himself. This man's real identity happened to be Aeolus, keeper of the winds. By pure chance, Willow became pregnant with this man's child and, after confirming the child was not Dirk's, she realized how rash she had been and began respecting her husband.
Dirk, Willow, and their child (whom they named Lilian) lived relatively peacefully, yet there was always this tension between the couple. After five years, Dirk began to mildly suspect that the child was not his, as she did not look like him nor Willow. While it was only a fragment of suspicion and he thought himself to be paranoid, he thought that discreetly taking a DNA test would not hurt. When it came back that Lilian was not his child, he became conflicted with staying silent as opposed to outright confronting his wife. After a few months of this debate, he finally confronted his wife and not only threatened to file for divorce, but expose and humiliate her. Horrified and knowing she would not be able to live with the humiliation, she packed whatever she could manage to take, bought plane tickets to the other side of the country, and fled with her daughter.
The mother and daughter settled down in Brooklyn, New York and changed their identities so that Dirk could never find them. For months, they survived with the money Willow (who now referred to herself as Monica Black) had taken and when that ran out, they sold a majority of their quality possessions. Soon, Willow knew that they could not live like this forever so, by the time her daughter (whose name was now Indiana, or Indie as she preferred) was seven, she had finally put her degree to use and found a nice job in an IT office, where she began seeing her boss. However, after a few weeks, she discovered that he was actually married and broke off whatever relationship they had and found a new job in another office.
Indie grew up hearing stories about how the men in her mother's life had treated poorly, which caused her disdain for men (especially her father). This disdain led to constant anger, as she believed the world had wronged her mother. While her mother attempted to explain to her daughter that vengeance was not the reason she was telling these stories (instead to protect her daughter from heartbreak and the feeling of worthlessness), Indie would not change her views that yes, men were pigs.
Since her mother was constantly out working, Indie was given the freedom to do whatever she wanted. At first, it was normal things like after school activities and sports. Later, around age eleven, this freedom led her to do small crimes like stealing candy or magazines at local convenience stores. Later, her constant success led her to bigger catches like new gaming consoles. What she was oblivious to was that as a demigod, the usage of electronic devices made her scent more distinguishable to monsters. Sure enough, around half a year later, her barely traceable scent was followed by a ruthless and starving harpy. If not for a pair of older demigods who had made it their responsibility to create a safer enviroment by tracking and taking out monsters before they could cause damage, Indie would've been in serious danger. Instead, the pair had rescued her before any damage could be done and accompanied her home. When they attempted to explain the peril Indie was in and that she needed to come with them to some camp, her mother threatened to call the police on the two, accusing them of being mentally insane.
However, this did not stop Indie from continuing to see them. While she had attempted to persuade her mother that the two were telling the truth as she had personally experienced the realness of a monster attack, her mother ignored her and stated that she knew what was best for her. So Indie would discreetly meet up with the two, who would train her to survive in the world she was newly introduced to. And, even though she continuously pestered the two take her to this camp, they refused her request as they would not take a child without their parent's consent. This is what Indie's life consisted of for three years; every day, right after school, she'd arrive at their house to train and occaisonally accompany them on their missions.
While this routine went well for everyone, there came a time where the two could no longer mentor Indie. One day, the man disappeared without a notice while on a mission. While Indie and the man's wife attempted to find him for days, there was no sign of him. Two weeks later, the female also vanished, leaving Indie alone. With nothing to do, she reverted to her old life of theft. However, this was short-lived as she soon found herself being chased out of a shop after an old woman caught her stuffing her bag with make-up. The second she thought she had managed to escape, both the commotion and her scent had drawn the attention of two hellhounds. While trapped from both sides of the alley, she tried to fight her way out but it became clear she was no match for two adult hellhounds. Luckily, the police officer that had been chasing her caught up to her and, by total chance, happened to be a demigod. With back-up, the two managed to get rid of the two monsters before the officer promptly arrested Indie.
In the car was another demigod, a son of Apate named Lucien, who had been in a similar situation as Indie. The officer became conflicted with how to deal with the two demigods because he knew that sending them to camp would be the best option, but the fact that they were also thieves did not elude him. In the end, he requested a satyr to lead them to camp and supervise them while he explained to their parents that Indie and the other demigod had been sent to a correction facility.
While preparing to leave for camp, Lucien decided that a supervisor would be too much of a hassle (which was probably the only thing the two demigods could agree on). So, immediately after receiving the address of camp, while Indie kept the satyr occupied, Lucien stole a car and the two drove off. The drive was definitely not pleasant as the two either kept bickering or completely ignoring the other. When only a few meters away from camp, Lucien said something to really piss Indie off (probably a sexist comment) and, not thinking properly as she was furious, she punched him in the face when he turned to see her reaction. The car swerved into a tree on Lucien's side, knocking them both out and leaving Lucien with severe injuries.
After a couple hours, she woke up in camp with a major headache and guilt for injuring Lucien. She now lives in camp, eager to finally accept her parentage.
Side Note: Nicki is making Lucien.
