Appearance: 5'1, waist-length brown hair, blue eyes that seem to change into teal when hit by sunlight, athletic build/ lean, wears a blue hoodie over a pale red tank top and jeans. She also wears converses.
Age: 14
Personality: oftentimes, Layla is mischievous (like any child of Hermes) but has a good sense of when to stop a prank. She keeps the peace in the cabin and was at first, mistaken as a child of Harmonia due to her peaceful nature. Get on her bad side or hurt her friends and family and you'll find yourself sleeping upside down from the highest branch of a pine tree. She likes anything soft and blue/red. She values bravery, justice and friendship above all things. she's always smiling and has great skill when it comes to making friends. (and opening complicated locks with a single hairpin)
History: Christina Collins was just your average female when her world turned upside down. She was just walking to work when a man with curly brown hair and mischievous eyes ran into her, literally. She fell on her butt unceremoniously and turned to glare at the man who bumped into her. He smiled apologetically and helped her stand.
After a few days, the two bump into each other again and start getting to know each other. The two started to date a year later an decided to get a bit (just a bit) intimate. Three months later, Layla was conceived and was born another year later.
As a child, Layla loved to play with things so when a bully took away her toy, she took her little revenge. (How she did it she didn't know) The next day, the bully just happened to be absent and a week later, he was said to be found near the docks, crying and asking for his mom.
Layla was diagnosed with ADHD in first grade and Dyslexia in the next. She started getting in trouble more and more until she was expelled from three different schools all together. Even with these though, she still put up with to make her summers even more enjoyable.
In her 8th grade school orientation, she met a boy named Jeff, who looked like he had a bad case of acne. Things took a turn for the worst on her field trip, when she found herself being attacked by 2 rogue harpies after effectively getting lost due to her thinking about a book she just read in the woods. She's usually very intelligent but when it comes to thinking while doing something else, she's bound to get something done wrong.
The harpies started in her direction, so naturally, Layla turned and ran for it. She was ahead for a good 15 minutes, somehow remembering the way out but it seemed to take longer to find the exit even if she knew where it was. Due to her fear, Layla took a few wrong turns and ended up near a cave. The harpies came into sight five minutes later while Layla was catching her breath.
Thinking she couldn't outrun the monsters anymore, she grabbed a stone and threw with all her might at the approaching harpy. Luckily for her, it hit the moster square in the face. This only made it mad though. Desperate for anything to protect herself with, her bracelet (which her mom said was a gift from father) started to glow and morph into a three foot-long sword, responding to her accindental call. The harpies attacked her again and she panicked and swung the sword, killing off one. The other harpy, started for her and Layla started to run again.
She ran inside the cave but found herself in a fiasco as a 4 meter gap presented itself in front of her. She shut her eyes and felt tears threatening to overflow. Just then she heard the familiar voice of her friend, Jeff, telling her to jump over the gap. She was about to argue when the cry of the harpie was heard. Her fear got the better of her. She took a few steps back and ran forward, jumping at the last second.
Surprisingly, she made it across and landed on her feet just a Jeff played on his pipes. Almost immediately, thwe moster was wrapped in vines until it turned to dust.
Jeff sighed before telling Layla to come with him. The two tried to act normal for the rest of the trip until it was over. when it was, they went to Layla's house and when Ms. Collins saw Jeff she only nodded, took a yellow duffel bag from the closet and gave it to Layla before hugging and generally trying to stop the tears from flowing.
After the goodbyes, Jeff brought Layla to Half-Blood Hill (all the while telling her about the gods) then to the Big House where she met the activities director. After watching the orientation film (and generally getting excited yet in a state of denial), she met the Hermes Cabin and her life as a half-blood started. 2 nights later, she was claimed during the camp fire.
Weapons: a 17-inch celestial bronze dagger (concealed by her jacket) and a three foot-long celestial bronze sword which changes into a gold bracelet.

did Christina know that Layla's father was a god? Also, I don't think she could outrun a harpy for fifteen minutes, that's a bit long. Like, if Picasso made a person, You'd be his masterpiece.

Christina knew Layla's father was a god but she didn't know whom or from what pantheon (Greek, Egyptian, Roman, etc.). As for outruning the harpies, she has good stamina, better than most. Also, she happened to be running on a flat part of the forest before chancing upon the cave.

Christina only hinted that Layla's dad was god since back then, Layla was a very realistic person. She got the bracelet as an anonymous gift during her 7th birthday.

This claim has been approved as child of Hermes. You now need to make a page for them and a word bubble, if you aren't sure how to do this you can see the guide here. Once you have done that you can add your character's name to the cabin list located on the cabin pages and start role playing with your new character.
