Name: Lin

God Parent: Originally Apollo

Species: Automaton

Age: Was 21 when died, has been active 2 years

Mortal Parent: Dhalia

Appearance: Lin has short blonde hair and blue eyes. His mechanical body looks incredibly similar to a normal human, but there are a few electronic differences. Some of the minor signs of electronics is that there is a plug in the back of his neck where he charges, and there a few visible cybernetics in his hair and on his hands. Some major electronic parts are his wings, which can fold into two slots in his back. His headset is also attached, and can't be removed.

Personality: Though he is an automaton, he has feelings and acts like a regular being. Because of his mechanical body, Lin doesn't show his feelings very often, though they do tend to show up in his voice. He is caring and loves to help out, but often comes across as slightly sad for an unknown reason. He won't speak of what happened in his last life, but it's obvious that there is some shadow over his heart. Despite this, he puts all he can into helping other campers and making music. He tries to act cheerful, but has trouble making it look real.

Dhalia was an amazing pianist, attracting Apollo through her skill and modesty. They ended up having an affair despite Dhalia already being married, and Lin and Ren were born. They were lucky that their stepfather, Nicholas, looked similar to Apollo, and everyone, including the twins, thought that Nicholas was the twins' father.

As their mother was a pianist, they too were raised to play music, but Dhalia didn't limit them to just piano. They learned how to play the flute, the guitar, the bagpipes, and several others. Nicholas didn't have much time to take care of them, as he was often out on buisness as a noble. Being raised in 13th century France, they both owned a horse for travel.

They found out that they were Demigods at age 11, when they were attacked by a Harpy. Their father wasn't home, and they fled to his study. Lin grabbed an ornamental sword off the wall, and stabbed the Harpy when she came through the door in pursuit. The Harpy crumbled to dust and the twins asked their mother about it. Dhalia explained that their actual father was Apollo, and gave Ren a magical bow, explaining that it had been given to her by Apollo. She also told them that Apollo had told her that monsters could only be killed by weapons of Celestial Bronze.

Lin kept the sword he had found in his "father's" study, while Ren carried the bow. They became reknowned musicians and surpassed their mother at only age 16. Out of all of Apollo's gifts, it was the gift for music that they inherited the most, as was evident in their passion for it. They tried to keep their gift mostly a secret, as monsters recognized them for what they were, and would attack them during, before, or after live performances.

At about 21 years of age, they were traveling to meet with other musical masterminds, when they were attacked by a Gryphon. Working together as they had against all the other monster attacks, Ren and Lin managed to cause a lot of damage. But the Gryphon was also a lot stronger than any monster they had faced, and caught Lin in it's claws. Despite Ren's efforts to stop the Gryphon, Lin was ripped to shreds. In a spurt of grief, she caught up Lin's sword and managed to plunge it through the monster, finishing it off.

A few years ago, Hestaphus was inspired by a mortal concept called the Vocaloid, or digital popstar. Deciding to challange himself if he could bring this idea to life, Lin's mechanical body was created. In searching for a way to make this creation an amazing musician, he came up with the idea of binding a soul to the machine. After obtaining permission from Hades, Hestaphus noticed Lin's soul, and decided it work as as a good test subject. He implanted Lin's soul into the machine and began to work out bugs. After tinkering with Lin for a year and a half, Hestaphus decided that he was ready and allowed Lin to return to Earth. Lin wandered about for days, attempting to reach the places he remembered. Eventually, he came across a demigod named Espere, and he ended up saving her life. She had been told the location of Camp Half-Blood, so Lin came with her.

Perferred Weapons: Lin prefers to use his musical ability to channel magic, but is experienced in melee combat.

  • Celestial Bronze Short Sword
  • An ancient leather flower, the only surviving physical memory of Lin's first life
  • A spare power box he keeps just in case of an emergency

I am not completely sure if this belongs here since the claim is not for a demigod, but I will check and leave a comment to let you know.

I checked with Flame, and yes, this would be where I post.

Although he is currently an automaton, please add in his previous demigod life, just to be sure nothing's off. There is a crime, but no criminal. ★❣Broken❣★Jap32

I had to discuss the history with my friend, but now that I've finally been able to do so, I fleshed it out.

The account DarkWolf133 got hacked somehow, and I am still researching how to get it back. So for now, I'll use this account as an alternate account until I can retrieve my old account.

Very nice claim, but it is a bit of a stretch to say one untrained demigod is going to beat a drakon, second, how did Hephaestus acquire Lin's soul?

By the way, that model, Vocaloid kagamine Len, is being used by Law and Ryusei already. There is a crime, but no criminal. ★❣Broken❣★Jap32

Okay. I made it a bit easier to understand, as it was Ren and Lin working together, but Ren dealt the killing blow after Lin got killed. I decided that I'm going to wait until my friend starts her character, and have her character be the one Lin meets. I think I found a picture that is different enough....not sure though. I can't figure out how to add the artist, but it's here.

According to our policy here:

A single model may never be used by more than two characters PERIOD. The original owner retains the rights to give permission to whomever. If a user sends a char away, kills them, or the user leaves, the two character rule still applies as long as the page is not deleted from the wiki, however, if a user wishes to share a model of a user that's long gone that isn't in use by any one else, permission can be skipped. If a single user is using the same model for two of their characters, then no one else may use, that counts as the two character rule. Also, if a user is using multiple models, they lose the rights to giving permission or sharing models.

It's not really the picture only. We're kinda talking about the models. Since the link is broken, if the picture is the one you uploaded to this claim, I think that's the same vocaloid the user's trying to draw, Kagamine Len. There are characters that use fanart here, but it's still counted as what the artists wants it to be. I use fanart for my Kagamine Rin character but the model is still Kagamine Rin. On the side of the claim, a drakon is too much for two untrained demigods. I don't think a monster like that would risk itself for two demigods only. There is a crime, but no criminal. ★❣Broken❣★Jap32

Very well. I will wait until I'm done with my drawing. And I changed the monster.

Please explain what a vocaloid is.

Riaskor (talk) 16:17, April 12, 2014 (UTC)

okay did Lin ever get to camp? cuz he would'nt have lasted til 21 without spending a few years at CHB. and if then, how'd he get there? summarize his earlier childhood and guess the rest is fine.

I finally finished it! And I fixed some of the stuff you guys mentioned. But the thing is, this is way in the past, so I'm not even sure if he would have had access to camp.

  • So the ornamental sword on the wall that stabbed the harpy was Celestial bronze, right?

Yes, the sword was made of Celestial Bronze. There just wasn't a good spot to specify that and keep the flow of the story. Sorry. Riaskor (talk) 15:07, April 19, 2014 (UTC)
