Name: Meguma Ryokashi
God Parent: Melinoe
Current Age: 17 DOB is 4/17/2009
Mortal Parent: Sayana Ryokashi
Appearance: (See image below)
Personality: Meguma is an enigma of sorts. On the outside he appears calm and collected and often tries to lift the spirits of those around him when possible. While inside lies a swirling malestrom of sadness and anger left by the death of his mother and sister. Only those who get truly beyond his barrier find this hidden past as when most people ask him about anything from before arriving at the camp he completely brushes them off.
Birth of Meguma:
Meguma's mother was not a beautiful woman. She was by no means hideous either. She didnt stand out in a crowd but alone was a sight to behold. She was spending a day with her young daughter in a park when another young woman sat beside her. Sayana had been married briefly after the birth of her daughter but they had divorced a mere 3 years later because Sayana found herself no longer attracted to the man she called a husband and he had begun to cheat on her with other women because she herself would not sleep with him. The young woman who sat beside her was pretty but in a muted butterfly kind of way. She was fleeting and ethereal one would say. The young woman chatted with Sayana asking about her daughter and various other mundane things. Sayana would occassionally glance at the woman when she wasnt watching her daughter like a hawk, and she found herself drawn to the woman. Sayana had discovered her attraction to women shortly after her divorce after a few nights of heavy drinking with friends had turned to a night of exotic experiences with one of the newer girls to the circle.
When the young woman stood to leave Sayana stopped her with a hand on her forearm. She asked the woman if she would like to meet for drinks later with the gang and offered up her phone number procuring a promise to meet at a local hot spot later that evening. Sayana left her 4 year old daughter in the capable hands of the girl who lived across the street and went out to the club where she was to meet the enchanting woman, who had given the name Melony, before leaving. When she got there she quickly found her friends and scanned the club in mute hope. The drinks she took were forgotten and drank without thought. Soon she spotted the woman entering the club and she waved for her to come over. When Melony spotted her she came over and joined the group. Their night was full of drinks laughter and light flirting. They parted ways after the club and Melony walked Sayana home. As Sayana went to go inside she turned to ask Melony to come in but she declined. Determined Sayana asked her if she would like to go again sometime. And thus began the courtship of Sayana and Melony.
For another year the two saw each other off and on sometimes months before they would meet up again. Then one fateful night Sayana asked Melony inside and Melony finally agreed to spend the night with her. The next morning Sayana awoke but Melony was no where to be found, just a note explaining of errands she had to take care of that day and that she would call on her soon. 2 weeks later Sayana finally heard from Melony but not in the way she had thought. She opened her door one morning to find a small boy wrapped in blankets in a basket on the stoop. The boy did not cry only watched with haunting blue eyes. The note pinned to the basket read that Melony was actually the goddess Melinoe. Sayana was familiar with the tales but had always written them off as nothing more than that, just tales. But here before her was physical proof. A child born of herself and a goddess. Sayana took the boy inside and introduced him to her daughter. The girl was instantly enamored with Meguma and the two became inseperable. Sayana named him Meguma and she vowed she would not tell him about his heritage despite the letter telling her she should when he was old enough. The trinkets she had left in a small box next to the baby were locked away in a safe never to be thought of again although she did leave a small reminder on the box in case she were to ever forget what the items were for.
Birth to 8 years old:
Meguma lived a relatively normal life style, as normal as one could with a mom who liked to go out on the weekends. His sister often baby sat him after she turned 12 and he was 7. They were both old enough to know what to do should things start to go wrong and they often spent their time playing hide and seek and tag outside. Sometimes the neighbor girl still came over if their mom was going to be gone extra long. But she sometimes refused saying that Meguma gave off a creepy vibe and she didnt feel comfortable in this house with his haunting eyes following her around. Meguma excelled in school although he didnt have many friends. But he knew quite a bit and when people tried to pick on him for being a loner he would stick up for himself because he especially excelled in PE. He was definitely an outcast but an outcast who could handle himself. But he could always count on his big sister to keep his spirits up if things started to go particularly bad at school with the bullies.
8 years old to first monster attack (12):
Meguma's sister was growing up fast. She was already dating boys and had gotten her permit. Meguma had dealt okay with school his grades slacking slightly as his sister had less time to help keep him happy and willing to do the work to keep his grades up. His moms partying days had slowed down as some of her other friends had kids of their own now but she still went out every weekend to spend time with the girls no longer drinking but mostly going to each others houses for book clubs. On Meguma's 12th birthday his mom gave him money to go to the mall with his sister who was secretly going to meet up with her friends and her most recent boyfriend. When they got there Meguma's sister took off instantly to the food court while Meguma went to the Arcade. He stayed in the arcade for quite a while before he finally decided he needed to find his sister because mom would be mad if she found out the two of them had seperated the way they had seeing as he was still rather young. His sister could have drove them but mom insisted she take them as she was already going that way and would have to come back by to go home anyways.
When Meguma finally tracked his sister down upstairs in a clothing store she was holding hands with the boy she had come to see and none of her friends were anywhere to be seen. He hated to be a spoil sport because he knew his sister really liked this boy and he wanted her to be happy but he also didnt want to get scolded by mom on his birthday. He went up and tugged on her sleeve and asked her if she was ready to go. She looked at the clock and deemed they had another thirty minutes and asked if Meguma would be willing to let her stay with her friend until about 5 minutes until there mom was ready to show up. So Meguma nodded and left her alone telling her to meet him out by the alleyway between the mall proper and the parking complex.
Meguma liked cars so he left the mall and went over into the complex to look around at all the neat vehicles people drove to the mall. After he reached the third floor he heard a growling sound eminating from the darkness just up ahead. The sun was still up so the lights hadnt come on yet so the center of the complex was thrust into darkness. As Meguma backed up weary of the noises he heard a rapid clicking and then saw a large dog come running at him. It looked absolutely terrifying to Meguma and so he ran. He was so glad he had spent extra time practicing his mile in that moment as he sprinted down the floors of the complex. The rapid clicking never stopped but Meguma caught a glimpse of his sister and his mom. They were waiting and he felt the small flip phone in his pocket vibrating. He struggled to get it out while still running and flipped it open. He told his mom he could see her and that he was coming down the last ramp and to go ahead and get in the car. He didnt want to scare her but he needed to be gone before the dog made it out of the complex behind him. As he jumped in he asked his mom to go because he had some homework he needed to do so she went ahead and started driving before asking how the trip to the mall had been. He looked out the back window and saw the huge dog slinking back into the shadows his red eyes glowering at the van. His mom asked again and Meguma turned back around to see his sister looking at him expectantly begging him to lie for her. He told his mom they had a great time at the arcade and he had asked her to wait for him while he went and looked at the cars because he knew she wasnt interested in them like he was. Meguma put off the experience as nothing more than a figment of his overactive imagination after the videogames in the arcade and never really thought much of it after that.
Subsequent monster attacks (Ages 13 and 14):
Meguma studied even harder after that day, even though he had just brushed it off as over imagination he still worked even harder on his physical studies running the mile faster than any of the kids in his grade. He also picked back up in his schoolwork because his sister now satisfied that all boys were dumb after the boy she had met that day broke up with her for her best friend, had started spending more time with him again often taking him on trips in the car their mom had bought her. Meguma had two more experiences like the one in the parking lot that day. One was just after his thirteenth birthday when he and his sister had gone out to eat. He could have sworn he saw a flock of huge birds following their car in the sky. And when they sat at the restaurant he felt like he had eyes on him from everywhere and he saw the same flock again on the drive home. One even tried to dive bomb the car but missed because of an oncoming vehicle that it dodged. And the next came when he was a couple months over fourteen. He and his mom and sister had just moved into a new house in town and he could have sworn the neighbor kept staring at him Except he didnt look like a neighbor. He looked like a creepy frog-fish man. But he either moved away or something because a few weeks after they moved in a new family moved in with a young boy about Meguma's age. He enjoyed spending time with the boy despite the fact that he was wheelchair bound. They would sit outside in the sun talking for hours about books and cars. Meguma was happy but at the same time he was sad because his sister was off in college learning how to be a beaeutician.
Monster attack up until the decision to leave for camp (15-17):
The next year on winter break Meguma's sister came back from college for the winter break her college recieved. She had sent a letter home alerting them that she would be bringing a guest. Meguma had just gotten his permit and was happy learning to drive. He even talked his friend into riding with him sometimes when his mom took him out to practice. When Meguma's sister got home she came in alone at first carrying a bag, to prepare mom she had said for when the new girl came in. His sister went back out to the car and came in a few moments later with a tall woman who looked like she were both a model and a homeless woman at the same time. Her physical features were attractive but her clothes were baggy and ill fitting and she seemed to have an uncontrollable limp. Their mother instantly exuded dissapproval but welcomed her to their home none the less. Her disapproval was not at her daughter choosing to be with a woman rather the ill looking nature of the woman she had brought home. The next day Meguma woke to a heavy snow, almost unnaturally heavy. He felt a pit in his stomach as he got ready for the day. He wasnt sure what made him do so but he grabbed his heavy coat and slipped it on even though he intended to spend the whole day inside. The snow was so thick that what little sunlight filtered through the clouds never reached the inside of the house. So they turned on almost all the lights in the home so people could see to move around. The day was like any other but Meguma always had that nagging feeling in the back of his mind that something was wrong. And his sisters girlfriend kept looking at him funny and it made Meguma uncomfortable. His sister noticed it to and he heard them argue about it the night prior. Close to sunset things went from ominous to out and out bad. The power went out in their home and the box for the main power was outside.
Meguma's sister volunteered to venture outside. As she went to the door she dragged her girlfriend behind her telling her she was going to help. Meguma and his mother stood there watching as his sister bundled herself in her white coat and scarf. As she opened the door a rush of wind blew in and Meguma's heart hit the floor. He had smelled that odor before, from the fish man and the dog. And the girl in front of him could tell he knew. Because she turned and smiled a wicked smile. And then everything happened at once. The girl lunged for Meguma and his mom stepped between the two as she saw her come at Meguma. As she tried to push her back his sister quickly jumped in pulling from behind. Meguma's mouth opened but no scream emerged as the girl completely changed into some creature he had never seen before. It was like some garish woman who was half machine half woman. She turned and with one clawed hand ripped his sisters throat out and she fell clutching it as her snow white clothes quickly became stained the color of cherries. His mothers own scream was cut short as the creature turned and slammed its hand into her chest pulling out her still beating heart. Meguma's body froze and the creature turned on him next.
Something like a small voice whispered for him to run and so he did quickly vanishing into the dark house. He knew all the little hiding spots in his home especially when the lights were out. But something told him hiding would do no good. He needed to go to the safe something whispered. So he did, he knew where mom hid it in her closet. The small voice whispered the code and he opened it quickly not sure what was compelling his body to act as it did. He grabbed the box with his name on it like the voice asked him to and quickly pulled out a pair of rings and a choker. He slipped them on quickly as per the voices instructions and the rings turned into something he had never seen before. But time was up. He heard the creature break through the door he had locked on his way in and turned on his heels to see it standing there in the dark yellow eyes glaring directly at him. The creature charged and Meguma tried to run away like he had with all the other creepy things but it grabbed him by the back of his coat and lifted him whispering awful things about eating him whole. In blind terror he swung the strange things in his hands and heard a screech as he felt it connect with something solid. He hit the floor, hard, and started running on all fours as the weapons turned back to rings. As he managed to get on both feet he headed for the living room .He knew he wouldnt be able to outrun this thing and he knew he couldnt fight it in close quarters. It broke out of the darkness and spotted Meguma and screamed. That single scream made Meguma's mind unfreeze and he screamed back tears blurring his vision. As the monster rushed him Meguma swung his fists the rings reforming the strange weapons. He heard a cry of agony and moved away quickly. Through his tear soaked vision he saw the monster standing there holding a double wound on its chest. It wasnt deep by any means but it still stung. It looked at the child eyes narrowed. It was clear he was no trained fighter. So the monster though it could easily beat him. So once again it charged trying to corner Meguma. Another double cut side step and the awkward creature was standing in the light of the now shifting snow outside. It was horrifying to look at. Meguma was in a bad spot, cornered and crying. He was losing his mind he could feel it. And as the thing charged the only reason he held out his hands the way he did was because he heard his sister and mothers voices beg him to do so. And when he felt pressure on both his arms he held steady ready to feel something close around his throat or heart.
The scene froze for a moment. And finally Meguma opened one eye warily. The creature had not been ready for another weapon and had underestimated Meguma. She had thought her prey completely and totally at her mercy in its shocked state and young age. But there it stood looking down at its chest where nearly half the blade of some weird crescent shaped sword pierced it. It looked up mouth agape and then disintegrated to dust. The only reason his mother and sister had known to warn him to do so was the note that had been left by Melinoe. It had detailed the weapons perfectly that the trinkets would form. And another spirit, one that had been there but unnanounced to the rest of the family, had helped guide them through how to deal with what was happening. As Meguma looked over at his famiy dead on the floor his mind broke completely. He screamed and he ran. His neighbors heard him screaming and came to the house but did not see the boy only two dead women and another dead boy. The cops spent two weeks investigating and deemed it a double homicide followed by a suicide as they had found a rather large knife hidden under a couch covered in the blood of all three victims. Meguma spent those weeks hungry and with a mind that could not think. Eventually his body took him back to the only place he knew. When he walked in through the door of his home he saw that everything had been cleaned and put back the way it had been. No one had tried to sell the house because the neighbor boy swore that Meguma would be back.
As Meguma roamed the house he found food and ate what his body would allow and drank water from the fridge. He collapsed in his mothers bed thinking if he woke up at home it would have all been a horrid nightmare. When he woke the next day all was the same. But when he went to his sisters room there she sat. He called out to her and she turned and smiled. She explained her being there, about her need to remain on earth as a ghost to help protect and guide him. Their mother had gone on to the other side because she had started to become something that was inhuman and she didnt have a choice if she wanted to remain herself. Meguma wept openly once more and her sister tried to console him. Meguma fell asleep in his sisters bed and slept for another two days before something in the house changed. He heard a knock on the window above him and looked up his eyes wild and frightened. When he saw the face of the neighbor boy he sighed in relief. But why was he up so high, he couldnt reach that window in his chair. Meguma was confused but his sister said it was alright and to let him into the house. As he opened the door before him stood the boy on a pair of goat legs. Meguma's rings transformed and he prepared to fight for his life once again but his friend quickly explained and Meguma's hands fell to his side the weapons dissappearing once more. As the boy explained more and more and described camp Half Blood Meguma became more and more interested and confused simultaneously. But he refused to leave. He needed time to figure this all out and be with his family.
Two years passed before Meguma was finally ready. In those two years his friend had helped him deal with monsters that came, taught him how to use his gifts both the physical and the non physical that his mother had bestowed on him. Had helped him with getting food into the house as the two he was staying with were more demigods just like himself who only wanted to help others reach camp safely. When Meguma finally became ready to leave he had to tell his sister goodbye. He cried as he hugged her ghost and cried more as he watched her fade heading to the other side of the River Styx. And then he dried his eyes and vowed to cry no more and to never speak of what had happened to anyone, for the memory still threatened to break him every time he closed his eyes to sleep. So the Satyr guided him to camp half blood where he now resides as a child of Melinoe. He's been in camp for nearly 2 months and is finally starting to settle in at the cabin of his mother. His 18th birthday is quickly approaching.

Heyooo as per the summary stated I found this claim hidden away I wonder why is that thus I read it to find an answer.. Apparently the answer is there right in the history itself.. either way enough chit chat shall we start?
- sooooooooo melony.. interesting.. no complaints there just... interesting idea... screwing a girl... hmm (if summer or omnia see this I hope they wont feel offended *winks* P.S: yorks your still number one if you see this too))
- I had to re read this thousand of times but one question I have here is "half machine half woman" what is that and why was it attacking the mom? We still have the mist to protect demigods right? Plus I doubt monster would attack mortals... unless the mom did something bad and a god had a personal beef with her... but thats highly unlikely right? right?
- and last but most certainly not least.. the most hated question of all... how long was he in camp? like seriously you need to mention it.. please
anyhow thats all the problems I can find... forgive me if I lost some of them >.< anyhow good luck yuka and may you have a good holiday..
Okay so as far as the half machine half woman that was what my brain attributed to the Empousi monster though that may have been misremembered on my part which I apologize for.
The monster only attacked the mother and sister because they got in her way. If you read it is stated that the sister is pulling on what she thinks is her boyfriend trying to attack her little brother who is only 15 while he is roughly 20 or 21. She doesnt realize whats happening. Same with the mother who is standing between the Empousi and her target demigod. And she's not overly fond of the interruption in her meal. So she simply killed them to get them out of her way.
If either of these explanations are insufficient I can edit it to a desireable state. Tbh this was written on the fly when I finally got an idea for how I wanted the character to be portrayed. Thanks for taking a look.
NO LEMON NO W H Y
More serious note: Empousai are medium level monsters, and given their ability to enchant specifically male demigods, I'm on the fence about claiming this. Granted, he's probably in shock seeing as he witnessed his sister and his mom's murders. I feel like it would be more realistic if the empousa was disguised as a girlfriend and not a boyfriend; would be interesting plot twist after the "his sister now satisfied that all boys were dumb after the boy she had met that day broke up with her for her best friend" line.
That is a plot twist that I considered but scrapped but looking back it is quite a strong idea. They say hindsight is 20/20. And the reason he was able to beat the Empousai despite her being a medium difficulty opponent is quite simply the overconfidence the Empousai had having cornered a young demigod who was, as you stated, in shock from the deaths of his family. And with the assistance of the spirits around him he was able to raise his sword to defend himself. I'll make that a bit more clear in the history so as to eliminate any confusion there.
