Name: Mei Blue

Choice for godly parent: Iris

Species: Demigod

Mortal parents: Dave Arewig and Maya Blue

Current age: Almost 14

Personality: Mei is very cheerful. She is an optimist and likes to turn even the darkest of situations into something good. This can annoy her family and mortal friends at times. She wouldn't be a very good leader because all though she is caring, she does not possess the skills to the wrongs of other people and the dangers of the world. She often becomes distracted and isn't able to focus on a single task for long.

History: Her birth father was in Chengdu, China when he met the goddess Iris. He stood out to her by the fact he studied color, focusing on reflections. Iris appeared to him on a walk home. They continued to meet each other during June and July. until Iris became pregnant with Mei. Mei's birth father never knew he had a daughter for Iris kept it a secret. A few days after Mei was born on April the seventeenth, Mei was left in an orphanage and her birth father never saw Iris again.

When she was eleven months old, Dave Arewig and Maya Blue, an American couple, adopted her from the orphanage and brought her to their home in Cincinnati, Ohio. She never showed any sign of ADHD throughout her life so far. As a child, she enjoyed playing with other children, including her younger sister Selena, adopted from Haiti, and her younger brother Henry, a boy adopted locally. She was especially close friends with a girl named Lizzie and later in life would learn Lizzie was the daughter of the muse of comedy, Thalia.

When she was five, her siblings three and two, her family moved to San Francisco, so her dad could teach English at the middle school while her mother taught at a preschool. She befriended Kelsey and Mary, two Greek demigods the daughters of Eris and Enyo, although she never knew it. It was around the time her family moved to Cambridge, Massachusetts that Mei began to be plagued by nightmares. She began seeing things she thought were unnatural. She saw serpents and winged beasts. This was when she was nine years old. After living in Cambridge for the start of fourth grade, she began seeking for support to deal with her fears. She met two twins, Caroline and Naomi (two daughters of Galatea, the goddess of calm seas) and a girl, Penelope (a daughter of Harmonia, the goddess of harmony and agreement) who also suffered from similar things.

They befriended each other and during the summer between fourth and fifth grade (Mei was ten), they were attacked by a dracaena. The day had been bright and cheerful. Mei's dad had taken the four girls out to eat bagels. While he went inside the shop to purchase the food, the four girls heard a hissing sound. Confused, they began to make their way to the door, but before Mei could open it, a dracanae slithered out behind them. Mei had never felt so scared in her life. She wanted to scream but was too frightened to make a sound. The demon closed in on them at the door, the only people noticing it, the four children. Penelope threw her handbag at the beast, but it just swatted it aside. The dracaena was about to lunge for them, when a new sound entered the scene. A music teacher the girls recognized from school came racing at the dracanae, waving a clarinet. When Mei looked closer, she noticed the teacher had horns and fur poked out at the end of his jeans. The teacher began playing a jazzy tune on the clarinet and as he played, the dracaena was slowly covered with branches. Eventually, the branches encased the creature altogether and squeezed it until the demon exploded into dust. The teacher introduced him as a satyr and told them about Camp Halfblood and their origins. He told Mei to tell her dad the four of them had to go and after she followed his instruction, the satyr drove them to the camp. Mei has been attacked by several other demons after her first, including harpies and karpoi. She has managed to become less afraid after receiving training at the camp. Mei has been attending Camp Half-Blood for several years now with her three Cambridge friends. She arrived yesterday, February fourth, to begin training for this winter. She is now in ninth grade and a part-time camper.

Hello, I'm Frost, a camp helper and I'm also looking over your claim today~ First things first...

  • On this wiki, we don't exactly refer to Romans... Even though they were mentioned in the Heroes of Olympus, so, please change this.
  • Cyclopses, according to this page, are a Medium monster. Usually, those are used for Big Three claims, so please change that.
  • How long has Mei been at camp? For metagaming purposes, we only allow campers to stay at camp for up to two weeks.
  • For your signature, it's four tildes to produce your username combined with a timestamp.

And that's all I've seen so far~ Edit those that I've pointed out, then either myself, or anyone else on the claiming department will come in and look it over again~. If you haveany questions, feel free to ask anyone on the admin team! Template:Frostleaf1615/Admin

Thank you so much for replying so quickly. Will get to fixing soon. Thanks again! :)

Heyo there I'm your claim checker this fine day/evening/morning.. did I miss anything? either way before we start *passes you some cookies* please dont cry when we tell you stuff about your claim as it doesnt by any mean show that you lack writing skill its just we have a "standard" to avoid OP (just an early heads up) still shall we start?

  • Question how long did Mei stay in camp? as we have a 2 weeks rule where a char cant stay on campground for more than 2 weeks (unless you say she was a part time camper and recently decided to change to full time)
  • two demigod (despite one being an uber minor goddess) would push the attacking time by a year so 11 or 12 would be a good. Also dreaming about being attacked by a monster do not count.. (smart but yeah doesnt count)

well thats al the problem I have now good luck kiddo :)

Behind those cold hard computer screens.....SuitIsASexyWhoreThere’s a human heart beating away its emotions…

Thank you for the help. I'm a bit confused by what you mean she dreamed the attack because I never said that. I just said she had nightmares, not that she was attacked in her dreams. Her first real encounter was with the dracanae. I'll change the other two. Thanks again!

Oh, yeah, (this is 2sunlake again) I'll change who the godly parent of Penolope, Caroline, and Naomi, so there is more reason for the attack to happen at twelve.

Hi there, hope you're having an amazing morning, afternoon, or evening!

  • Goddesses are quite busy with their duties, so one year is a quite long for Iris to be with a mortal.
  • Orphanages are no longer used, it has since been replaced with foster care and adoption.
  • Even if it was unintentional, at such a young age, Mei's power wouldn't have developed at all for a rainbow to appear when she is happy.
  • I've noticed that Mei's always been friends with and have been around many other demigods all her life. Regardless of their god parents, multiple demigods' scent combined would be strong, so the first attack being at the earliest age possible (10) and more frequent attacks throughout the years should be warranted.
  • Note that for whichever monster attack is Mei's first encounter, it will need to be fully explained. Also note that there should also be subsequent attacks (which can simply be stated or summarized) after her first (usually at least one per year).
  • For the important events (such as the monster attacks), it'd be very helpful if you could provide the specific age since a grade level can be two possible ages.

That is all for now, good luck!

Thank you! I'll fix the Iris thing to a couple months and have Mei's powers come out later. I'll also change the time she came to Cambridge to earlier and edit the attack. I gave the month she was born at the beginning, so I assumed you would figure out the whole grade level thing, but since you were confused, I will change that.

The one thing I won't change is the orphanage. Sorry, but both my younger sister and I were adopted from orphanages in China. Yes, orphanages have been replaced in the US, but not in some other countries. I'm not saying I approve of institutionalized care, but that this is a reality. I'm sure you didn't mean to offend me or the many other people I know who are intercountry adopted from orphanages, but I'll just let you know orphanages still exist despite how terrible they are.

I know I sound harsh about the orphanage thing, but I take this very seriously and I want you to not mistake orphanages as extinct. Take a look at JK Rowling's Lumos program if you want more information about orphanages. Thanks for your help.
