Name: Won Mooyoung
Mortal Parent: Won Sunhyuk
God/Titan: PersephoneAppearance (optional): Model is Johnny from NCT.
Personality (at least a sentence or two): Mooyoung is a quirky and kindhearted person who beyond the sarcasm and puns, is very caring and sweet. He's known for having integrity as well as a sense of justice. He's very curious and spends his time creating mysteries in his head to solve. He is generally good at telling whether or not someone is lying but it takes some thought and he dislikes people with no sense of identity, as they tend to be a burden more than anything.
Mooyoung values his freedom which is the spawn of his rebellious spirit and his dislike of being told what to do. He often does things of his own accord but does think about how it will affect others. He can get anxious easily in disorganized spaces and tends to increase stress on himself under pressure. He doesn't particularly enjoy cleaning but hates disorganized and cluttered places so he takes his time to clean everything.
He is selfless and understanding and can sympathize with almost anyone. He refrains from being judgemental and prefers to here more than one side of a story. He doesn't like taking sides which is more from a manipulative standpoint than an innocent one. He's sarcastic and tends to make unnecessary comments as well as dirty minded, but tends to keep that to himself.
History (more than a paragraph): At first, everything was simple for Won Sunhyuk, heir to one of the largest companies in Eastern Asia with casinos, restaurant chains, fashion lines, cafes, and more dotted in almost every country. During the weekdays he had a careful, precise life as he and his family prepared for Sunhyuk to takeover but during the weekend he was a wild executive bad boy.
At one of his own family's casinos in Japan, he had engaged in a conversation with a woman who he for the life of him, could not remember her name. This woman, disguised as Persephone, lured Sunhyuk into bed with her and left the following morning. With barely any memory of the night before besides a soft pair of lush red lips, Sunhyuk returned to his neat weekday-wild weekend lifestyle until he found a crib in his penthouse one morning with a note and a box attached to it. He thought for a second it was a simple prank until the wail of a child echoed from the crib and he approached it.
Inside was a baby boy, giggling and waving his tiny hands and legs. He cursed under his breath and read the note, wondering all the while where this child came from and how he was going to hide this from the media.
SUNHYUK was written at the top, surrounded by printed flowers.
This is our son, Mooyoung. I intend that you take good care of him. I will be watching. Inside the box are specific things he will need to survive.
What's in that box? and Who in the world is Persephone? were the two questions circulating in his head when he left for work that morning. On the box, it was scribbled, give to child at age 10 and it wouldn't open. Too much peculiarity in one morning, he had decided it was a dream and continued with his day. Unfortunately, the crib was still there when he came back. For five years, he managed to keep the child a secret and hired a nanny to watch over Mooyoung while he was at work, making them swear secrecy.
Mooyoung was a curious child who was always poking around in the quite frankly, oversized penthouse and asking his father about everything. Sunhyuk found Mooyoung very annoying but would always take the time to answer his questions. Slowly he found himself becoming attached to the child and wished his safety. He took Mooyoung to work with him, intending to watch him, no longer comfortable with leaving him at home by himself by the time he was 8.
Mooyoung was interesting to observe during work. The media had caught word of his existence a year and a half ago but Sunhyuk had responsibly claimed that Mooyoung was his son—the result of a one night stand he couldn't even remember—and didn't intend to get rid of him. In fact, it was about time he said something anyway. While sometimes he proved to be a distraction, he showed a clear interest in the work Sunhyuk and the others around him did and he enjoyed explaining and showing him around.
Mooyoung did not go to school. Instead, he was tutored by online programs and some hired tutors, the best in their field. It allowed Sunhyuk to monitor him and what exactly he was learning as well as keep an eye on him to make sure he was never in danger.
He was now the CEO of the company and was excited to begin training his son to become the heir, who was ten at the time. However, tragedy struck when he and his son while traveling home from work were attacked by a trio of harpies. They pried at the doors and pecked at the windshield, causing Sunhyuk to swerve off the road and into an empty lot of grass where the harpies began their relentless attacking.
Scared, Mooyoung's powers acted up and wrapped themselves around the harpies for ten minutes, allowing Sunhyuk to drive the rest of the way to the penthouse as fast as the speed limit would let him. Sunhyuk rushed Mooyoung into the building and up to penthouse's safe room. After an hour, he allowed Mooyoung to come out again and handed him a box, the one that had come with his crib, which was from Persephone herself.
Inside the box was a personal letter to Mooyung from Persephone, two rings with a rose pattern crystalized in them, a pair of flowery headphones, and a crown made of different colored roses.
I approach you as the deity Persephone, your mother. As my son, you are a demigod which means many threats will soon approach you such as greek monsters, dangerous gods, and rebellious demigods. Take caution, for there are many who wish to hurt you.
In this box, I have given you four items which I assure you will help you in your journey. The rings will turn into a celestial bronze blade which you can use to slay the monsters that approach you. Use them wisely and skillfully. I advise that you convince your father to have you practice sword fighting with a paid tutor.
The headphones will provide you with a means of comfort when stress overwhelms you. Built by Hephaestus, these headphones' purpose is to calm you down an re-energize you when you are exhausted or anxious. They will play whatever music to suit your mood but be warned, they have certain limits such as unless worn before an initiated fight, they cannot be put on, and they will stop working after wearing them for a period longer than two hours with a two-hour charge up as well.
The flower crown, preserved by magic, is a reminder that I am always with you no matter what you do and where you are.
Take care, my son,
As desired, both father and son followed all the recommended instructions of Persephone. Mooyoung was to be taught sword fighting and picked up quickly, having enough skills to kill a hellhound that approached him some months later. Sunhyuk refused to send him to school and instead opted to lock him in the penthouse and brought most of his work home so he could watch him at all times. He installed monitors all over the house so he could watch his son and make sure he wasn't attacked unannounced.
This didn't stop the monsters, unfortunately. Several harpies broke in multiple times yet were killed, and so did another two hellhounds which was a surprise to both of them. Sunhyuk tightened the security, but this didn't stop fourteen-year-old Mooyung from escaping the presence of his father.
Crime had begun to increase randomly Incheon and interested as well as motivated by the many mystery and superhero-type books and comics he'd read, he wanted to use his powers to stop the criminals. A gang, led by a fellow demigod he was not to encounter until later, was discovered to be the root of this new chaos.
Mooyoung had anonymously aided the police in arresting several gang members by catching them in the act, tying them up with vines, leaving a note and calling the police who covered the rest. During the day, he was under his father surveillance, and during the night he was out in the city, helping extinguish the gang's chaos from the city.
Alongside this double life, he balanced fighting monsters and his tutoring and found himself using his headphones a lot these days. When he turned sixteen, he finally encountered the leader of the gang, a boy one year younger than him named Elliot Jackson who could read/write things into existence. During their fight, Mooyoung recalled Persephone's warning of rebellious demigods. Perhaps he was an example?
Unbeknownst to him, after defeating Elliot, Elliot had become obsessed with him. Especially discovering who he was. Before Mooyoung could turn him in, Elliot began to conversate with the other, asking why he was fighting against him when he could be helping him. They were better than the humans, and the gods had no right to rule over them. The ideas interested Mooyoung but he eventually concluded that humans, while weaker, were beings worth more than he thought. And having never encountered the gods, he couldn't have an opinion on them.
Mooyoung decided to let Elliot go on the condition that he ceased all criminal activity. Elliot said he would agree if Mooyoung continued to talk and visit him, so he agreed. For two years, Mooyoung inconspicuously assisted the police as well as visited Elliot at the trashed apartment he lived in. The two gained feelings for each other, finding themselves sharing kisses in the midst of the quiet nights they spent together save for the monsters they would encounter and fight alongside together.
Elliot was originally from Britain but moved to South Korea with his father before his father died in a car crash. He had been living by himself in an abandoned apartment building that he had managed to scare off the landlords for some time. Elliot's story interested Mooyoung and he wondered if there were other demigods living a life like Elliot's.
It was ultimately their beliefs that drove them apart as well as his father's increasing paranoia and anxiety about Mooyoung's safety. Mooyoung found Elliot's view of the world too pessimistic and egotistical but Elliot's lips often caused him to forget how he felt about Elliot's vision. His father, on the other hand, kept tightening security, making it nearly impossible for him to sneak out.
He was eighteen when he decided to conclude his vigilante career and stop visiting Elliot who had become much angrier at the world than before. When he broke the news to Elliot, the other, in tears, tried to convince him to stay with him but he couldn't—and both left each other broken-hearted and depressed. The monsters became overbearing and stress was getting to him much more often.
In a dream, he was approached by Persephone who told him of a safe haven where he could go to keep safe. He was not given a name or location, but in a similar dream, his father was. He asked his father about it but he refused to say anything, scared to lose his son. Annoyed more than anything, he demanded that his father tell him anything about this place, prompted by his mother that Sunhyuk knew something.
Sunhyuk gave him and told him of Camp Half-Blood. In fact, he traveled with him there just to see that Mooyoung got there safely. They celebrated Mooyoung's twentieth birthday in New York and Sunhyuk spent his last week with his son their before taking Mooyoung up to Camp Half-Blood where they shared a final goodbye. He's spent a week and a half getting used to his cabin.
Weapon(s) (optional): Two celestial bronze katanas that turn into rings.
