Parent Male:Typhon

Parent Female:Echidna

Orthrus

Personality:vicous to the enemies of it's owner, it will rip apart the enemies of camp Half-Blood.

History:He was owned by the three-bodied giant Geryon. Orthrus and his master, Eurytion, were charged with guarding Geryon's herd of red cattle in the "sunset" land of Erytheia ("red one"), one of the islands of the Hesperides in the far west of the Mediterranean.Heracles eventually slew Orthrus, Eurytion, and Geryon, before taking the red cattle to complete his tenth labor.

Orthrus was one among Echidna's fearsome brood listed in Hesiod's Theogony. According to some sources, it was he rather than Typhon that sired, with Echidna, further chthonic monstrous creatures: the Chimera, the Sphinx, the Lernaean Hydra, and even, Hesiod says, the Nemean lion, and Cerberus. (quoted from wikipedia)

Weapons:Teeth & Claws

Comments[]

We do not allow Orthrus to be a pet at Camp Half-Blood since there is only one Orthrus, who cannot be tamed. The only monsters allowed as pets are specially trained hellhounds owned by Hades and Thanatos kids. With that said, this claim is denied. Sorry.

Denied

The fact that the pet claim has been denied does not change but I'm just adding a few things onto Royal's comment.

  • We do not allow other monsters, aside from hellhounds (which we only allow baby hellhounds to be at camp), to be pets for characters.
    • Monsters attack demigods and try to prevent demigods from reaching the safety of camp, it's highly unlikely for one to be allies of camps and fight against camp's enemies (which in fact may be other monsters).
  • You will need to have at least one "claimed" character before you can create a pet claim, as pets needs to be owned by one of your characters. However we made exception for baby hellhounds as they may possibly be easier to tame.
  • The history needs to reflect how your character encountered the pet, how they tamed it and/or taken it back to camp, and etc. It should not be a direct copying and pasting of an exterior source.

If you have any other regards to pet claims feel free to read the rules and guidelines section on Claiming:Pets or contact a member of the administrative team.
