Urban arena
  • This arena is essentially a small abandoned city, overgrown with vegetation and some of the buildings crumbling in decay.
  • Located in the middle of the arena is a small abandoned park, with a pond
  • This arena has all the typical things you'd find in an abandoned overgrown city, everything from flat surfaces to small buildings to tall skyscrapers, some crumbling, some still standing, lots of dark places to hide, including an underground subway tunnel. There are abandoned cars, and things can still be found within the buildings, perhaps even a few stray cats or dogs, or some smaller creatures such as rats and spiders.
  • The arena is open to the sky and elements
  • This arena also possesses a more rural arena, possessing large mansions, estates and houses.

"We all have demons begging to be unleashed."
Once released from Ares' throne room, Cody can't help but to think of the possible outcomes. He realizes it would not help him at all to worry, thus he finally takes worry apart from his mind. Soon, his usual confidence and competitiveness returns. He looks at all directions, examining the arena and making sure he can fight well and use it to his advantage. He then curiously stops at a area full of factories. He enters the large two story sardine factory that had police tapes across the entrance, possibly a crime scene. Despite his hatred for the strong smell of fish, he has gotten used to it after a little outing. What bothers him is the additional smell of dried blood, but he decides it would cover his death stench. He doesn't bother finding the lights, but there are small holes puncturing the old building to allow limited light. Other than his brown shirt, brown sneakers, and black pants; he is wearing a light breastplate, twin arm guards, and carries his twin fu tao, one per hand. On his dominant hand, you can spot him wearing an open-fingered glove made out of leather. Despite the cards and other necessities he always carry as a demi-god, he clearly takes his attire into consideration as there are no obvious bulges. He makes sure his attire would not limit any of his movements and abilities before going into hiding behind the crates, waiting for a victim.

Offensive[]

  1. Children of Hades can create and launch long shards of obsidian from their palms.
  2. Children of Hades can create small fissures in the ground which spew plumes of hellfire for a few moments before closing. The hellfire is more powerful than normal fire, but can also harm the user, so this power must be used carefully.

Defensive[]

  1. Children of Hades have the ability to create a dome of hardened earth and gemstones, roughly two or three times the size of the user, which can be used to block attacks for a short time.
  2. Children of Hades can conjure a set of very durable bone armor around themselves which grants enhanced protection against physical attacks. After a time, the armor grows brittle and falls off the user’s body.

Passive[]

  1. Children of Hades are able to communicate with and command the dead, and are able to sense spirits or other undead beings.
  2. Children of Hades are able to communicate with and command hellhounds they encounter.
  3. Children of Hades can sense when a mortal, half-blood, nymph/spirit that they know has died through a "buzzing" in their ears.
  4. Children of Hades are able to instantly destroy undead in a single attack.

Supplementary[]

  1. Children of Hades have the ability to Shadow Travel, to teleport from shadow to shadow; the further the distance, the more energy drained.
  2. Children of Hades have a heightened control over undead and can usurp dominance from others who control undead who aren’t also children of Hades.
  3. Children of Hades can telekinetically shape and control dead matter. The more matter moved, the more the user is drained.
  4. Children of Hades can perform rites to summon a specific ghost from the underworld for a time, using offerings of their choice. The more offerings given and the more specific they are to the intended ghost, the more likely they are to appear. Ghosts that have been granted reincarnation, or are trapped Tartarus or the Fields of Punishment, cannot be summoned.
  5. Children of Hades can bend shadows around them, concealing them for a short time.


3 Months After Character is Made[]

  1. Children of Hades are able to summon skeletal/zombie humanoids/animals to do their bidding. The more animals summoned and the bigger they are, the more energy is drained. Any armor/weaponry the undead possess increases the strain of the summoning. The undead can then be commanded telepathically their summoner. The longer they are summoned, the more the summoner is drained of their energy.

6 Months After Character is Made[]

  1. Children of Hades are to project their consciousness into any undead minion they command, taking direct control of their senses, movements and actions. However, their own body is left vulnerable for the duration.

9 Months After Character is Made[]

  1. Children of Hades are capable of entering into a contract with a willing soul, either prior to their death or after meeting them as a ghost. Once a contract is made, the user gains the ability to summon the spirit into an undead recreation of its former body, formed from the earth, to fight alongside them for a time. The undead would retain all of the skills and physical abilities they had in life, including weaker versions of any special powers. When the summoning ends, or the spirit's summoned body is destroyed, the user is left heavily drained and could possibly faint. Only one contract can be held at a time.

  1. Children of Hades have innate knowledge of the Underworld, able to guide themselves and allies to how to enter,explore and escape the Underworld. (as long as they aren’t already dead)

 Powers:

  1. They have a telepathic/empathetic connection with nature and other nymphs. They also have a special, stronger, connection with other animal nymphs.

As they are nymphs they do not age, remaining eternally young.

  1. Their senses of smell, sight and hearing are more enhanced, enabling them to sniff out monsters, track down demigods, etc.
  2. They are able to summon animals to aid them, they have the best control over their own animal type.
  3. Each type of animal nymph has their life force attached to that species, so if a species were to go extinct the nymph would die.
  4. Each nymph is able to change into the type of animal they are, and only that type. #So the bear nymph could not turn into a mouse, but it could turn into a grizzly, black bear, polar bear, etc.
  5. While in animal form they have all the normal abilities of the animal. So if they are a hawk they can fly.
  6. While in regular nymph/person form, they only retain passive characteristics/traits from the animal. So if they are a hawk, perhaps they are claustrophobic in enclosed spaces, but they cannot fly.

Thanks to particles of light, the cliffhangers above as well as the steel handles guiding the path of the second floor were able to come into his sight, but they seem to be slanted or was it only by his perception? Ignoring the burning sensation of the stink, he closes his eyes momentarily to sense the exact locations of those corpses who are already rotting. They were scattered a few meters apart from each other, beside different machines. From his telepathic connection with them, there were 5 and a half corpses since the other was crushed in the machine itself; the rest died of multiple stab wounds. His concentration was then broken by the sound of the police tape being moved. Upon hearing the familiar voice, he recognizes it as the half-sister of Kylie Shay, his best friend. He often hears and sees them together, so he has no doubt it is her. Trying to send chills of taunt towards his opponent, he gives out an evil chuckle that echoes throughout the whole factory. He mutters a few inaudible words.Let's begin.

The Fight[]

  • Cody: As the footsteps gets closer to the crates, he breathes calmly in and out. Being sandwiched by the wall and the fortress of crates, he decides not to use his powers as early as now. Finally thinking the lady is close enough, he pushes bottom crates which would trigger the crate above to fall unto the other side, attempting to make a diversion or even scar Maia. Despite whatever the outcome of Maia's fate will become, he jumps out from the behind the crates and dashes towards the processing machines. He leaps across the rotting corpse blocking his way in the middle before reaching his destination. Upon reaching the processing machine, specifically the area where they crush the small fishes, he tries to activate the machine. He is scattering to find the switch and hopes the electricity will not fail him now
  • Maia: She looks to the next of her where the crates are, as they almost fall, Maia rolls out of the way, though one of the crates hit her on the shoulder, causing her to trip over What the- She sees the light, electricity maybe. It's quite close, and instead of heading towards it, she heads away from it. She runs to another machine and starts climbing the climbable part of the gear, reaching just 5 feet from the ground and looking back at the light source.
  • Cody: Having the risk to switch on the electricity, he then summons the corpse not so far away. Since the corpse is numb, he asks it to flip the switches instead of himself. While the corpse is doing its job, Cody hears Maia running towards farther away. He runs across the crushing section then jumps onto the conveyor belt. Once the corpse does as it is told, it is dismissed. Due to the low maintenance of the factory, only some of the lights could be switched on. The processing machine is basically a large, complex conveyor belt. With the lights and conveyor belt moving, he slowly moves forward and spots Maia. He reaches for his steel cards and starts throwing five of them at Maia, aiming for her neck to chest area.
  • Maia: She leaps out of the way from the cards, but the fifth one finds a way to mildly scratch the lower part of her neck. She winces but rolls over again, gets up, and climbs up the big crates, once reaching the top. She gives a bit of time to let the cut on her neck heal. At the same time she looks at Cody, and lets a few moments pass.. once she considered that her neck is sort of healed, she climbs down the crates again and hides behind one of the bigger crates, and waits..
  • Cody: He doesn't notice his cards slashing Maia at all, but moments later, he notices her figure moving elsewhere. Seeing so, he jumps out of his position and onto the ground. After getting a stable stance, he gets a grip on his fu taos tightly as he takes slow steps towards those large crates. He also gets other options ready such as resurection of an ally and shadow traveling, just in case Maia tries anything sly.
  • Maia: She thought she heard someone jump, it definitely has to be her opponent. She doesn't want to come out from her hiding place just yet. So, she just inhales quietly and counts from one to ten. She holds out her dagger in front defensively and appears from behind the crate. She defensively stands in position, dagger still in front and looks at Cody, surely expecting him to attack her now. So she takes a step back and kicks him in, hoping to aim at his thigh maybe. Sorry for having to do this, but I'd be punished severely if I don't.
  • Cody: Sensing nothing is wrong from Maia stepping back, he was wronged. The kick hits the target mark of Maia, especially with her accuracy. He is pushed by the kick and tumbles back. Fortunately due to his grip on his futaos, he subconsciously manages to hook something like a screen with wide holes with his left hooked sword. This enables him not to tumble to the ground itself and supports him; it gives him ease to only adjust his footing as he pulls himself up. In a defensive stance, he gives a smirk towards her as another sign of taunt before twirling his two fu taos. He stands a few feet away from her thanks to her kick. Have you heard of buffets? Come at me all you want.
  • Maia: With a light chuckle, she jumps at him, dagger in her right hand, she attempts, to not stab him though, probably not yet, but she attempts to lightly cut him on the shoulder or arm. And then she takes a step back, like their both fencing or other than that.
  • Cody: Out of impulse, he imitates a snake's tactics. First, he exaggeratedly moves to the left to dodge. Next, he reverts into place by entering with his head just for the sake of it. Lastly, he cautiously moves towards the left with a side step and swiftly strikes. The strike implies to Cody trying to hook Maia's ankle by surprise. Not wanting to endanger something vital, he immediately combos it with the attempt to slash the same leg's thigh before moving away like what Maia did few moments ago. In his mind, he analyzes Maia as a cautious fighter. He thinks of her as a reluctant or maybe, sadistic murderer. He takes note of this and schemes to crown her downfall.
  • Maia: Cody does succeed and manages to cut her left thigh lightly. Maia winces though and backs up, clenching her teeth. She then stands with her dagger pointed in front of her, and by looking at Cody's movements, she sees him as quick fighter. So, she probably had to be as quick to, and jabs Cody by the elbow, trying to distract him first before acting on something else soon.
  • Cody: He is partially distracted by the sudden quick attack of Maia. Fortunately, he was able to jolt up his arm; but it scrapes a bit of flesh, forming a mediocre cut on the right arm. Since his position is facing Maia's left side, he attempts to follow her with another attack. He raises his left hand and attempts to hit Maia's head with the dull handle of his left fu tao.
  • Maia: By an instinct Maia raises her dagger to the left side of her head, hoping to block Cody's move. Then she ducks away, moves back, enough space so that she can aim a kick with her heel at Cody's knee, hoping to make him lose balance.
  • Cody: For his previous attack was more like a punch, he looks alerted once he has felt Maia raising her left hand; it would be dangerous for another part of his flesh to encounter a blade. Answering her dagger, he quickly flips the sword's side to make sure he places the crescent guard, the opposing side of the dull handle, to use. As her dagger adjusts with the hollow-like side, he pushes away by the force of their collision. He has failed to see Maia making her next move and tumbles to the floor like Maia has planned. Despite sneering in pain as his bleeding arm makes contact with his chest from the fall, he still holds his fu tao as if they are treasures. He doesn't get up and takes his time to rest, but keeping in mind of possible counter and defensive strategies. Due to his notable stamina and occasional use of powers, he still has it in him, panting mildly.
  • Maia: She glances at him, also breathing heavily. She immediately takes the chance to step forward to him and point the tip of her dagger at Cody's chin. Tired already? She smiles tauntingly, though thinking, this could be a trick, some sort of risky move, so she was ready to back up when she has to.
  • Cody: Knowing he has hidden ambrosia scattered within his attire, he places his stamina to wager. Wanting to end this fight A.S.A.P. before the tables are turned, he starts communicating with the three nearest rotting corpses within the factory, ordering them to come to his assist while picking up any “weapon.” "Weapons" referring to possibly deadly objects located in a sardine factory. Before Maia withdrew the dagger, Cody bursts into shadows and reappears a few meters behind her as the result of shadow travelling. In glee his minions were on their way, he gives a mediocre defensive stance before wagging his index finger in taunt to her.
  • Maia: She turns around quickly to face Cody, and narrows her eyes at him. She can tell something weird is up, but she doesn't know what. She grips on her dagger tightly and looks everywhere around the factory. Then suddenly she thought she smelled something.... dead-like. She tenses and just stays in position guardedly. Like most times in fight, she waits to make her move.
  • Cody: With the additional fragrance of rotting death, Maia can hear clanking bones detached flesh and maggots flopping to the ground. Cody looks a bit confused on why Maia didn't bother to attack. All the corpses are mostly bone, but it can't be helped their decaying process isn't finished. The two undead that responds to him are on ground level, wielding a wrench and twin ice picks; the delayed other, located on the second floor, hugs six full yet closed cans of sardines as it moves towards the railings to interact with the ground floor from above. The one on the second floor is having a somewhat of a difficult time carrying those cans due them slipping from his rotting arms.  For now, only two are in sight as they hastily enter behind Cody. He gives himself a safe distance from Maia. The one carrying a wrench serve as the scapegoat as he goes for Maia first from the right, looking like it is trying to hack her; the second, from the left, follows in hope of successive multiple stabs on the chest using his ice picks. If once can notice, they are actually hoping to corner Maia and minimize the space between the wall and railings for interaction between the two floors to unveil the next step.
  • Maia: Maia attempts to duck away from the wrench-holding-corpse, though gets hit by a few of the ice picks, despite having tried to duck away from them. She gulps, and finds this as the right time to unleash a quick burst of light, in hopes to blind her opponents in a small amount of time so that she can escape. She runs in between the corpses, almost having to push away. By instinct Maia decides to get rid of the corpses first. She goes to the left, and uses her dagger, attempts to chop off the first corpse's head, or what's left of it.
  • Cody: Having fought a daughter of Apollo before, the blinding light does not affect the dead corpses who take the control from Cody. Seeing Maia dodge the corpses so easily, he grunts. He is trapped in paradigm of dilemmas. The corpses have failed to corner Maia to the desired location, so he immediately releases his control over the undead situated on the second floor to save on power usage. The zombie holding the wrench is also dismissed after having its head slashed off; its body drops onto the ground lifeless as before. He thanks the gods the other zombie holding the ice picks survives and was the only one who successfully injured Maia. After its attack, the corpse back immediately away, anticipating for further orders. For Cody next move, he pulls out five steel cards and readies them in his hand. He then sets the only corpse into mindless mode; as if its arms were like a spinning fan, the corpse, who is not blocking Cody's view, starts dashing towards Maia and randomly making slashing moves. He switches his right fu tao to his left hand. Making use of the distance and cards, he decides to test Maia's ability to cope with tight situations. After shooting the cards towards her, he gives her two problems to deal with now: the cards and the corpse. The five Jokers glide across the air, attempting to slash Maia's sides at random points given from the abdomen to the head. He wants to signal Maia that his real intention was never to kill.
  • Maia: She slashes back at the mad corpse. She aims a chop at its head, in hopes it will make its head come off. Then she sees the cards, and dodges away from them and using her dagger to shield them away. Though the fifth once again makes a cut on her shoulder. Maia then backs away, gripping her dagger tight and clenching her teeth. She looks at Cody, sort of getting his signal. She doesn't intend to kill either.

Closing RP[]

  • Cody: After getting Maia's returned signal, he releases his hold on his own corpse. Coincidentally, the corpse's head had been slashed off at the same time. He then rethinks of getting Maia a new set of daggers, disinfected ones, if they are able to make it back to camp alive. He dismisses his weapons as well and raises his hands out in the air.You alright?
  • Maia: Still breathing heavily from the fight, she nods back at him and checks the cut on her shoulder. It didn't look that bad despite it bleeding. Never better.. She sighs and sinks to the ground, she crosses her legs to her chest and looks around the factory.
  • Cody: Actually, beneath his breastplate was a small sealed plactic bag of ambrosia. He takes out a bag of ambrosia, even if most of them have been crushed. He walks towards Maia before dropping to the floor in an Indian sit. Sitting beside her, he breathes in and out before taking a cube of ambosia and tossing it into his mouth. He then extends the bag to her.
  • Maia: She blearily looks at the bag for a moment before looking taking one ambrosia cube out. Thanks.
  • Cody: No problem. He takes the bag back and hides it once again.  He speaks facing the portion in front of him, not looking towards her We both gonna get out alive, promise me that.
  • Maia: She looks at some machine to the right. She slowly nods afterwards. I promise. we are.
  • Cody: Good. He stands up and extends his hand out to her.
  • Maia: She grabs his hand and hauls herself up. You have deadly joker cards. She smiles slightly, wiping her sweaty palms on her jeans.
  • Cody: Speaking of cards...He goes to picks up all of the five cards he has thrown. He tells himself to pick up the rest later. Meanwhile, he comes back and extends one to Maia. Here, take it. He smiles
  • Maia: She raises her eyebrows in surprise. Aw, thanks. She smiles back as she takes the card from him. You don't really have to, though.
  • Cody: He laughs, because the card is already on her hands. No problem. It's a token of appreciation, I guess. Sorry about those.. you know. He rather not say corpses or maggots which would send most girls running for the hills
  • Maia: She chuckles. It's okay. Gross, gotta admit. But okay. You had to do it anyways.
  • Cody: He nods Yea, same to your sister, Kylie. Anyways, I'll get you back on those daggers, if we make it alive
  • Maia: We will and.. are you serious about the daggers thing? You just gave me a steel joker card of yours, there's no need for you to do more. She tilts her head. Really, I should give you something in return too.
  • Cody: he sighs Like I said, no problem. he looks around the factory We better get going before someone notices the noise and come after us. I guess this is farewell for now?
