Urban Arena

Urban arena
  • This arena is essentially a small abandoned city, overgrown with vegetation and some of the buildings crumbling in decay.
  • Located in the middle of the arena is a small abandoned park, with a pond
  • This arena has all the typical things you'd find in an abandoned overgrown city, everything from flat surfaces to small buildings to tall skyscrapers, some crumbling, some still standing, lots of dark places to hide, including an underground subway tunnel. There are abandoned cars, and things can still be found within the buildings, perhaps even a few stray cats or dogs, or some smaller creatures such as rats and spiders.
  • The arena is open to the sky and elements
  • This arena also possesses a more rural arena, possessing large mansions, estates and houses.

He walks into the arena, from a trail in the pond, he is wearing a Celestial Bronze armor, and he has Celestial Bronze Leg guard and arm guard strapped on his arms and legs. He has his Celestial Bronze Machete with him, strapped across his back is his Bow and quiver with plenty of Celestial Bronze arrows, and his whip with a Celestial Bronze blade at the tip. He sees a picnic table and he sits there waiting for his opponent.

Camille Branwell ~ Daughter of Boreas

"I restore myself when I'm alone"
She hovers toward Hunter, the pallor and light rain gave the arena gloomy essence. The rain pelting against her Celestial Bronze breastplate, her gauntlets that covered her forearms glistened in the moonlight, and she has two knives in hand, another stored in her right combat boot. Her sword is slung over her back. "You must be Hunter." She takes a few step back. "First move's all yours." She turns for a moment and scans the area behind the picnic table, which is in a park. Behind the park's a small convenient store, and to adjacent to it is a street that cut through the shops that dotted either side. The buildings were small apartment buildings, convenience stores, and other various shops. She turns back and nods at hunter. Knives at ready.

Character's Powers

Powers of a Daughter of Boreas (3/6/9):

  1. Children of Boreas can create an incredibly cold wind around an opponent, the wind will follow them no matter what for a short time. The wind would make the user feel as if it’s 15 degrees (fahrenheit), distracting them and making them vulnerable to attack.
  2. Children of Boreas have the ability to conjure up to ten long lances of ice which can surge forward and impale an opponent.

  1. Children of Boreas have the ability to create a dome shaped torrent of wind, roughly two or three times the size of the user, which can be used to block attacks for a very short time.
  2. Children of Boreas can heal themselves by using ice, absorbing frozen energies which can freeze molecules, renew damaged cells, and also stop bleeding. This can be used to quickly heal minor wounds and slowly heal major, but not fatal, wounds. Ice healing only affects children of Boreas, Khione and Ice/Snow Nymphs as they are the only ones who can draw power from the snow.

  1. Children of Boreas are inherently resistant to the cold, including hypothermia and frostbite.
  2. Children of Boreas are inherently stronger during the winter or on any cold days.
  3. Children of Boreas always emit an aura of coldness, making others around them feel slightly cold. The user can shut it off for a long time if they choose to.
  4. Children of Boreas can turn water into ice or make it severely cold with a cool breeze.

  1. Children of Boreas have the ability to hover or fly, however, the longer they fly the more it drains them.
  2. Children of Boreas can apply the power of 3rd or 4th degree frostbite to an opponent’s weapon, freezing it to the point that it becomes fragile and easily breakable. It only lasts for a short time, after which the weapon reverts to it’s normal temperature.
  3. Children of Boreas can create armor and weaponry out of ice. The larger the size and quantity of the weapons, the more energy is drained. They can also infuse existing weapons with ice in order to make them stronger.
  4. Children of Boreas can call upon the icy winds in order to speed up their movements and attacks.

3 Months After a Character is Made

  1. Children of Boreas can create a hail storm, with up to baseball size hail for a short time. The storm will produce powerful, freezing winds. The hail will fire in whatever direction the user wishes, the user will be somewhat drained once the storm subsides.

6 Months After a Character is Made

  1. Children of Boreas can create an ice dragon lacking wings, a semi-living construct creature of ice that could be called an ice drake, no larger than 2 to 3 times the size of the user, to fight for them for a short time. This drake attacks with frost breath which can damage and freeze opponents. While the Drake is active, the user has a hard time moving and afterwards must rest between making another one.

9 Months After a Character is Made

  1. Children of Boreas can shed their flesh and transform their bodies into pure cold air which grants them temporarily immunity from attacks as well as drastically enhances their current ice powers. This ability only lasts for a short time and the user will be left heavily drained and unable to move for some time and could possibly faint after the ability dissipates.

  1. Children of Boreas are often ambidextrous, a trait they share with Notus' children.
  2. Children of Boreas have a natural preference for places in the Northern Hemisphere, the further North the better. They also prefer anywhere cold in general.
  3. Children of Boreas are naturally skilled at ice fishing.
  4. Children of Boreas make excellent navigators due to their ability to always find North.

Hey, I'm gonna stop you there. Ladies first, you take the first move.

The Fight

Camille: She huffs, and mutters something about men being overly traditional, and then eyes him dirtily. Now that the rain's pouring down a bit harder, she hovers up and creates a frigid torrent of wind over him, the water instantaneously freezing over and falling over as aciculate, sharp, gelid slivers of ice. She then, runs from the park, past trees and benches, onto the paved road over to a two-floored apartment building that's at the right side of the street, by a corner store and an abandoned parking lot, gas tanks and litter dotting the isolated area, and old cars. The apartment building seems in fair shape, not as old and murky looking as the other buildings.

Hunter: The sliver of ice falls over, he leaps back and the ice shatters into pieces. He quickly scans the surrounding before going after Camille, west of the park is an entrance to a subway station, 3 blocks east is another entrance to a subway station. Behind the park is a small convenience store. Across the streets in a small plaza is a restaurant. There were various of stores and further east there was a department store. There were many apartment buildings along the street. He runs after her, after training in the wild and doing rock climbing and many sports he has developed fast reflexes, speed and stamina. He runs after her, she is up ahead, he sees her disappear into a two-story apartment building. He runs up to her and creates a leaf tornado making it head her direction, it begins gaining  speed.

OOC: As he godmodded me inside the building, and himself outside, the tornado wouldn't do much of anything, as it would dissipate when it would come in contact with the door, and no one said there was any sort of vegetation to take the leaves and grass from, the post wouldn't do much anyway, so I'm gonna ignore it

Camille: She darts toward the stairs. The hallway's mostly empty, save for the rooms that receded into the distance. Seeing that he had caught up to her, and they both tracked water into the room, she creates a gust of wind that instantly freezes the portion of wet floor, that runs from the entrance she came through to the stairs. She forces a gale force wind at him, in an attempt to slow his movements. She runs upstairs to the second floor, and moves for the door leading to the staircase to the rooftop.

OOC: Since you put that she runs over to the two-floored building, I assumed that she went in. And you know you also godmodded Hunter catching up to her.

Hunter: He slips a bit but still kept balance. The wind slows him down a bit, he sees her in the front of him, heading to the second floor. He creates a boulder and he uses it to smash against the top of the doorway to stairway, causing the rubble to collapse, blocking the stairway. Hoping that the collapsed door will give him time to attack, he runs up to her and slashes her arm with his Celestial Bronze Machete.

CamilleShe swiftly ducks, missing the slash by a fraction of a second. Using her position as an advantage, she takes a knife, and attempts an oblique, upward slash, getting up in the process. She focuses an ice storm on Hunter, hoping to freeze him.

OOC: The entrance to the stairway room was collapsed by the boulder that Hunter used to smash on the top part of the door.

OOC: Fixed

Hunter: After he slashes he leaps backwards, just in case Camille would attack him. He makes Camille's feet become hardened before runnning out of the apartment building. Once he is outside of the apartment building, he takes his bow and shoots a Celestial Bronze arrow at Camille giving him time to throws a boulder at at the ceiling of the floor of the apartment building Camille was in. He then throws another boulder to collapse the entrance, blocking the entrance and the only available windows on that floor. He hopes that the arrow and the hardening of Camille's foot will give him time to cause the collapsion of the roof to come falling down and crushing Camille.

I'm calling this match early, as a DQ on Kevin's part. I realise I had originally intended on only marking off for godmods out of fairness, as this is a one time only event versus counsellor challenges, however I feel this case of a godmod, puts minx into such a situation, that her only choices are death or OP'ing out of her situation, which by OPing would in turn cause her to lose points herself. Even if she can get out of the hardened feet, there's a boulder caving in the roof and one caving in the entrance out.

Hello Sweetie! The Doctor is in.... Allons-y ~The Doctor Bach D7d8 doctor who new sonic screwdriver

Although I disagree with Bach slightly on what constitutes a godmod in certain situations, this is not one of those. This action is clearly a deliberate one, and it is absurd to argue that a building collapse is not fatal. Since there is a deliberate and notably inescapable offensive action taken by Kevin's character, I'd call a foul immediately.
