Forest/Jungle Arena

Forest Jungle Arena
  • This arena is essentially a tightly compacted jungle/forest, with tall cliffs along the edges of the arena
  • At various points in the forest/jungle there are some small waterfalls and ponds
  • The arena is open to the sky and elements, however due to the tightly compacted nature of the jungle/forest, there are areas where the sky cannot be seen, along with lots of shadows and places to hide
  • At the centre of the arena (jungle/forest), there is a medium sized temple, it is the darkest at this point and there are pyres, full of fire and wood, at the entrance to the temple. The fire that burns within the pyres can not be extinguished, but if the fire is removed from the pyres, it can then be put out.
  • Inside the temple are various Greek statues, roughly 6 feet tall
  • There are numerous and various species of wildlife hidden amongst the forest/jungle, but none larger than a grizzly bear

Owned by: Onyx ~ Posted on: Alexander kneels at the statues of the gods, his head bowed, silently praying for them to grant him strength in this fight. The fires blazing in the pyres cast a flickering shadow of his cloak on the wall. Under the cloak, he wears black celestial bronze armour, covering his entire body, save for his thighs and the back of his shins. Infront of him, his skull-like helmet sits at the ready. Outside, a light breeze rolls into the temple, billowing his cloak.

Cody ~ Son of Hades 地獄

"We all have demons begging to be unleashed."
Wearing the same outfit from his previous matches, Cody seems very considerate of his dark themed attire. In his hands are his twin fu taos, waiting for a next opponent to subdue. He cautiously takes time to scan the jungle by foot, taking notes.  After passing by what looks like a cave, he goes futher. Unraveling the deeper parts of the forest, a temple comes into sight. Entering the temple in distance, he finds his opponent with his eyes closed, praying. Of course, like his previous match with Sasha, he goes out then around of the temples' cicumference to scan the other side. After some time, he ends up where find the bottom of the waterfalls. Being well-prepared, he returns to the temple entrance. Not wanting to be heard, he reciets his wishes in his mind while taking silent steps closer to the temple. He starts recording his opponent's movements from this very moment, finding a flaw.

Character's Powers

Powers of a son of Hades:

Offensive

  1. Children of Hades can create and launch long shards of obsidian from their palms.
  2. Children of Hades can create small fissures in the ground which spew plumes of hellfire for a few moments before closing. The hellfire is more powerful than normal fire, but can also harm the user, so this power must be used carefully.

Defensive

  1. Children of Hades have the ability to create a dome of hardened earth and gemstones, roughly two or three times the size of the user, which can be used to block attacks for a short time.
  2. Children of Hades can conjure a set of very durable bone armor around themselves which grants enhanced protection against physical attacks. After a time, the armor grows brittle and falls off the user’s body.

Passive

  1. Children of Hades are able to communicate with and command the dead, and are able to sense spirits or other undead beings.
  2. Children of Hades are able to communicate with and command hellhounds they encounter.
  3. Children of Hades can sense when a mortal, half-blood, nymph/spirit that they know has died through a "buzzing" in their ears.
  4. Children of Hades are able to instantly destroy undead in a single attack.

Supplementary

  1. Children of Hades have the ability to Shadow Travel, to teleport from shadow to shadow; the further the distance, the more energy drained.
  2. Children of Hades have a heightened control over undead and can usurp dominance from others who control undead who aren’t also children of Hades.
  3. Children of Hades can telekinetically shape and control dead matter. The more matter moved, the more the user is drained.
  4. Children of Hades can perform rites to summon a specific ghost from the underworld for a time, using offerings of their choice. The more offerings given and the more specific they are to the intended ghost, the more likely they are to appear. Ghosts that have been granted reincarnation, or are trapped Tartarus or the Fields of Punishment, cannot be summoned.
  5. Children of Hades can bend shadows around them, concealing them for a short time.

3 Months After Character is Made

  1. Children of Hades are able to summon skeletal/zombie humanoids/animals to do their bidding. The more animals summoned and the bigger they are, the more energy is drained. Any armor/weaponry the undead possess increases the strain of the summoning. The undead can then be commanded telepathically their summoner. The longer they are summoned, the more the summoner is drained of their energy.

6 Months After Character is Made

  1. Children of Hades are to project their consciousness into any undead minion they command, taking direct control of their senses, movements and actions. However, their own body is left vulnerable for the duration.

9 Months After Character is Made

  1. Children of Hades are capable of entering into a contract with a willing soul, either prior to their death or after meeting them as a ghost. Once a contract is made, the user gains the ability to summon the spirit into an undead recreation of its former body, formed from the earth, to fight alongside them for a time. The undead would retain all of the skills and physical abilities they had in life, including weaker versions of any special powers. When the summoning ends, or the spirit's summoned body is destroyed, the user is left heavily drained and could possibly faint. Only one contract can be held at a time.

Traits

  1. Children of Hades have innate knowledge of the Underworld, able to guide themselves and allies to how to enter, explore and escape the Underworld. (as long as they aren’t already dead)
  2. Children of Hades tend to have dark attitudes and appreciate shadowy places.
  3. Children of Hades typically have an appreciation for the earth, feeling more comfortable on the ground rather than being in the sky or the sea.
  4. Children of Hades often grow up to make great morticians.

"We all have demons begging to be unleashed."
In such a exquisitely dark and semi-lit temple, he smiles. He still gives distance between the both of them, for special purposes. One of his first goals in a match is to realize the godly parent of one's opponent. This way, it would help him analyze limitations and possibilities. Wanting to see his opponent make the first impression, he gives a quick bow. Same as well to you. Please begin the match

Fight

  • Alexander: He returns the bow, and slowly backs away behind the statue of his father, forcing the shadows around him to conceal him from sight as he silently makes his way towards Cody.
  • Cody: He does take notice of Alexander closing to the particular statue of Thanatos, but decides he needs more feasible evidence than such. He notices Alexander blending himself in the shadows, thus Cody makes use of his ears. Inside the temple is rubble, so there will be sounds of footsteps churning with the ground. He places his fu tao in defensive position, pushing outwards, before making a run towards a statue, not particularly his father. He doesn't want Alexander to know that and use it against him. The statue he runs into would be Persephone's. He hides behind's the goddess' back before taking out three cards and shooting it towards the direction where he had last seen Alexander. These three cards aims towards random points situated in the abdominal to above portions. His cards aim to determine Alexander's location.
  • Alexander: As Alexander had moved since Cody last saw him, the cards make no contact, placing themselves in the wall behind where he had been. As Alexander reaches the entrance to the temple, he speeds up, forcing his footsteps to make an audible clinking against the rubble in the temple. Hastily, Alexander bounds out of the temple while allowing the shadows that conceal him to fade, not wanting to be stuck in a confined space. When he makes it into the jungle, he wills small scythes to appear in his hands, and uses them as climbing picks to reach the highest branch on a tree directly outside the temple. Upon reaching the branch, he tears off his necklace, transforming it into his naifi, and throws it into a bright, sunny area of the arena. It reaches it's mark, lodging it self in the ground vertically, casting a long shadow over the grassy knoll.
  • Cody: After no grunts were made after the cards were thrown, he slowly forwards to the exit. Blessedly of him, he sees a naifi gliding towards the ground. This gives him an hypothesis that his opponent must be in higher ground. In suspicion what Alexander was trying to achieve, throwing it before Cody was even outside, he takes a nearby torch strapped to the wall and hastily makes his way towards the second floor. From the "windows" of the crumbling temple, he is able to see the trees near the entrance. Since Alexander was at the highest point, Cody would've had time to notice him above. Knowing only the side where the tree is located, he throws the torch directly at a tree from his position. If it wasn't the tree Alexander is at, fire spreads, reassuring Cody. After his deed, he runs down the stairs with caution before exiting from the back hole, running towards the forest closing to the waterfalls. Reaching his destination without concern for his results, he stops and goes behind a tree trunk. Some bushes give him extra covering, sheathing himself in the natural darkness of the forest.
  • Alexander: Unconcerned by the fire, Alexander allows it to rise to his branch before shadowtraveling to the long shadow cast by his fireknife. As he pulls the fireknife from the ground, Alexander turns to the sound of running water, and decides if his opponent has the ability to use a tracking animal or spell, it would be best to rinse off his scent. He trudges the jungle floor, slicing foliage away with his fireknife, until he reaches the clearing made by the waterfall. Before venturing out into said clearing, he takes his time to scout for Cody, not entirely sure where he may have gotten off to after trying to burn him out his tree. Not finding Cody, Alexander slowly saunters into the clearing, and wades through the shallowest part he can find, before exiting the clearing and venturing for a more open, sunny area, so that he can start his strategy. He summons 2 ghosts, and he sends them in different directions, hoping they will help him find his preferred battlefield. After a mild waiting time, one ghosts returns, and leads Alexander to a wide clearing, about 100 feet in diameter, with a small pond leading into a stream. He isn't certain, but he suspects that the stream leads to the waterfall. Standing in the center of the open area, he summons 2 astral scythes, and sticks them into the ground on either side of him, about 6 feet in between the scythes, Alexander standing in the middle
  • Cody: As he notices spirits passing by, he tries his best to stay out of their sight and follow them on foot. He stops on a large willow tree once he sees a spirit retreating. He hides behind the tree and bushes. A few minutes later, he spots Alexander on the open field. He was able to glimpse the creation of the astral scythes. These facts make him speculate Alex's godly parent was alike with his previous opponent, Sasha, to be Thanatos. He questions Alex's affinity for sticking weapons to the ground; is it possible he is going to summon the undead and allow them to take hold of those weapons? Deciding to come out of hiding, he enters the field from the direction opposite to the twin scythes, trying more to corner Alex to those two scythes. Walking towards him, he grips his two fu taos in a defensive strategy. He stops with at least a few 20 feet away from him to grin. Nice place you've picked, much better than the temple, alright.
  • Alexander: As he watches Cody approach, his weapons held in an obviously defensive position. I have to say, I like the shadows more than a sunny area, but I think this will be a hinder to us both. Alexander steps away, putting more distance between Cody and himself, wanting Cody to step between the scythes, or atleast moderately close to them. Trying to egg him forward, Alexander summons 3 ghosts to approach Cody from behind, their unholy wails alerting to there presence.
  • Cody: He smiles at the ghosts before bowing at Alexander, in gratitude of draining himself to summon these ghosts for Cody to use. Without another second, he usurps the command of Alexander on the undead. The spirits soon pass Cody and switches their course to Alexander, trying to corner him to the scythes as well as covering his sight of Cody. Since ghosts are intangible, but visible; they try their best to cause disruptions and noises while circling around their opponent. Meanwhile, Cody grips on his two fu taos and dashes towards Alex, careful not to near the scythes. Cody then plans to make a clean slash across Alex's torso then going for a knock on the head with hilt of his right fu tao. In case Alexander would try anything malicious on him, the crescent guards on each fu tao would be able to answer it.
  • A simple reminder to the judges: As from Wikipedia, the undead can compose of even ghosts and spirits.
  • Alexander: He's not used to the feeling of being stripped of control, but can feel as Cody takes control of his ghosts. They flow over to him, but being non-corporeal, they do nothing but obscure his vision. Knowing how he uses ghosts the same way, Alexander starts spinning the fireknife with a great speed, swinging it around his body to protect him at all angle, besides from behind. As his fireknife connects with one of Cody's fu tao, the blade stops spinning, but keeps enough momentum that it should knock the weapon out of Cody's grasp. Knowing a person with 2 weapons is probably going to attack with both at the same time, Alexander uses the shadows cast by the scythes he planted earlier to shadow travel away, the strain of shadow traveling not quite apparent on his face. Using his temporary replacement, Alexander charges from behind, aiming the hook on his fireknife at Cody's legs, trying to trip him. Were he to be successful, he'd bring the fireknife down in a wide arc, aiming at Cody centre-masse.
  • Cody: He smirks at his failed attempt to injure his opponent. Seeing Alex disperse into the shadows, he becomes more insecure of his surroundings. A moment later, Cody hears Alex's blade cutting the wind, as well as his steps. He turns halfway to be hooked by Alexander's blade. It cuts a part of his pants and injures his ankle, leaving a minor wound. As he had wished, Cody falls; but halfway, out of desperation, he spits for a distraction, aiming on Alexander's face. Quickly adapting himself to his arms and palms as they touch the ground, he goes for a backwards flip. Despite the difficulty while weapons in your hands, he hopes this would randomly slash Alex. Being a good distance away from Alex, he shifts his feet for a good stance before lifting his head back at Alex.
  • Alexander: Cody's blades slash lightly at Alexander, only to be guarded from doing an damage by Alexander chestplate. Alexander didn't expect such a move from Cody, the spit lands right on Alexander's cheek. Disgusted, Alexander wipes his face on his now torn cloak, and glares at Cody fiercely. Thinking it out, Alexander relies solely on his left hand to grasp his fireknife, as he summons yet another scythe, of moderate length. He throws the scythe, but not at Cody. The scythe is aimed at Cody's right side, about 3 feet behind him. After shadow traveling once again, this time with beads of sweat forming on his brow from strain, he grips the scythe in his right hand, the fireknife in his dominant hand, and swings at Cody's torso with both, hoping to maim.
  • Cody: From the distance, he notices the scythe purposely was never out to get him. By instinct, he steps forward by a few steps to realize Alex had already shadow traveled. In the nich of time, he makes a quick turn to find Alexander. To dodge the attacks, Cody exaggeratedly moved to his right like a snake, a familiar move used in the fight with Maia. Unfortunately, despite the added distance from his step forward a while ago, the blade of Alexander's scythe makes a moderately deep slash of only few inches on Cody's left arm. From the rush of adrenalin, he further backs away from his opponent, knowing he must be drained from much power usage. Since it was a critical situation, he summons hell-fire in their small distance, serving as a warning. It also tries to burn away the weapons that were once arched, hoping Alex has not retreated them close to himself again from his last attack. Despite the results, he backs away even further to continue his next plan.
  • Alexander: The hell-fire narrowly misses Alexander's prized fireknife, but his scythe is burnt to a crisp in it's flames. Needing time to recover from the extensive use of his powers, Alexander turns and retreats, returning himself to the temple that they had started in. Instead of entering, Alexander hides just outside the temple in some bushes, but leaves obvious signs that he had entered, such as footprints in the dust, and a scrape trail that could be misconstrued as coming from his fireknife.
  • Cody: As the ground united with the hellfire calms, he sees Alexander's back retreating towards the direction of temple once again. Taking timing to consideration, Alexander had not much time to cover his flaws. Fotunately for Alexander, this is battle, which gives Cody less time to make decisions. Once Cody has reached the destination, he has heard shaking of the leaves in a bush nearby which catches his attention. Without turning his gaze, he stops with his head gazed on the temple. He looks to the ground to find the tracks and scraped trail; a part of him does not buy this trick. This time, he becomes more conscious as Sasha had planned something alike this before. With secretly quarter of his attention from the rustling noises he has heard, he cautiously makes his way to the temple, prepared for the worst.
  • Alexander: Alexander knows he made too much noise whilst hiding in the bushes. Remembering the crumbling holes that Cody had once used to his advantage, Alexander will do the same. Gaining easy footing on his way, due to the crumbling structure, he scales the temple, slinking in as quietly as possible through the first hole he found that was big enough. He enters the temple on the second floor, and after no sight of Cody, figures he must be below him. Bending the shadows to hide him, Alexander stealthfully glides down the stairwell, stopping when he catches sight of Cody. Alexander continues his approach, steadily nearing Cody's left side. When he believes himself to be close enough, he summons a ghost right next to Cody, it's ghostly figure shimmering through the floor quickly, as a diversionary tactic while Alexander throws a fury of punches at Cody's kidneys, after which he would slash diagonally with his fireknife, hoping to severe an arm.
  • Cody: Once he has re-entered the temple, he notices from the statues that the temple was exclusively for the Underworld deities. From the moment he hears the sound above, he moves a step towards the stairs to only find Alexander. A ghost soon appears next to him. Of course, he would not be fooled by the same strategy used by Alexander over again. By the time Alexander has thrown two mild punches, his figure had already faded into the shadows. He reappears beside the 6 ft statue of his father, Hades, which is directly beside Thanatos and Persephone. Feeling as if his father is watching over him, he places the temple in a mild shake as three undead warriors arise from the ground. The skeleton kunoichi from the Edo period of Japan wield rusted and moldy weapons of age: twin Japanese war fans, a katana, and twin kunais consecutively. Holding his sides from the pain Alex has caused, he commands his allies to diffuse from his position. From an overview, the corpses and Cody form a strategic diamond around Alex. The first two on Alex's east and west charge to attack him, aiming on his abdominal sides. The third warrior, directly behind him, hopes she is forgotten by Alex in this tight situation.
  • Alexander: Knowing he's cornered, Alexander decides shadow traveling away would drain the rest of his energy. Instead, he begins spinning his fireknife, using the momentum to drive the blade into the undead combatant on his left, then turning it into a whirlwind-like attack to put more strength into a kick, directed at the other's pelvis. While the first's attack made no connection, the second's did hit him, but not in it's desired position. The rusty blade connected with his shin mid kick, penetrating far enough to draw blood, but not enough to do any serious damage to his leg. The kick still flying, Alexander makes use of the momentum a third time, turning with the kick, to send his fireknife flying at the third undead assailant.
  • Cody: The first corpse blocks Alexander's advances using it's Iron War fans before aiming a high knee kick to his face. The second slips towards the ground due to his kick to the pelvis, losing grip of her weapon. Seeing this so, Cody sets the second undead to mindless mode, saving more energy. For now, it is still trying to arise from the ground. In exchange to Alex's fireknife now stuck between it's hollow ribcages, the third corpse shoots two of her kunais out to Alexander. Hopefully, the cut the team cause a few moments ago might cause an infection later.
  • Alexander: He catches the first undead's attempt to kick him in the face, and shoves his shoulder into him, trying to knock him off balance. Taking use of the katana's flying at him, he dodges out of the way, the next thing in the katanas path being the undead that tried to knee him in the face. He pulls on one of the katanas, going for broke and rushing Cody, jabbing incessantly at the unguarded areas of Cody's torso. After, he throws the katan like a spear at it's original owner, before summoning a scythe and swinging wide at Cody's upper chest, which is less armoured than the rest of his abdomen.
  • Cody: The second, set on mindless, manages to get up from the ground then it swings its katana like a mad woman, having no strategy aside from her consecutive slashes, in hope to injure Alexander's shoulder. The third was immediately dismissed after her weapon was thrown away towards Alex already. The first was accidentally dismissed when Cody was caught half-way off-guard from Alexander's attack. Panting for power usage, he coats his left fu tao with a special diamond coating to clash with the next moves aiming for his torso; all possible thanks to the hooked sword's efficiency. As Alex threw the weapon at its original owner, he takes opportunity to jab Alex's abdomen with the hilt of his right fu tao. While doing so, he gets pushed back by the force of the scythe as it manages to make a cut half-way across clavicle line. He then step backwards even more, grunting from the pain.

  1. Children of Thanatos can use astral energies to make anything, besides just scythes, nothing larger than 2 to 3 times the size of the user, for a short time.
  1. Children of Thanatos generally have morbid personalities.
  1. Children of Thanatos are generally not frightened of death.

You both were pretty evenly matched, you both had a fair amount of faults though. I'd try focusing no the actions, rather than alluding to previous matches, expecting an understand. For Onyx, assuming a "naifi" is a fireknife, I'd just ask why you threw it, considering it was rather pointless, as a result, you caught Broken's attention and your hiding place was gone. For Broken, there was a bit of over analyzation, and I lost track of all the skeletons you summoned. Also, if you're gonna having a Kunochi, which wouldn't have any female characteristics anyway, wielding five weapons at the same time, she'd need 5 hands, to wield both twin weapons, and the katana. There wasn't a lot of exhaustion from either of you considering power use was heavy in this match.

"long and lost" ~~ Minx the Banshee

well here's my input, onyx really impressed by with his use of shadow travel. Using his scythes and fireknife to create shadows was pure genius. Again when Broken used the skeleton it didn't exactly make sense. And i feel like your use of powers didn't drain Cody as much as it should of. but chu still did good with trying to burn onyx off of his tree. but onyx it wasn't exactly the best move to use ghosts when your opponent was a hades kid who could usurp control. but onyx you were the better man today. sorry broken! >.<
