Madeleine Perthshire has just returned to camp after being away for years.
Personality
Madeleine seeps with ethereal grace of a feline, ineffable towards anyone who dwells outside of her small friend circle. She has the insouciance of a fine leader. She is lissome and woebegone with the eloquence of a finely educated woman. However, staying on her good side and complying to her sullen demands is quintessential, as you could otherwise find yourself stripped of sensitive skin, her slender fingers working salt and lemon juice into the fresh wounds. To say the least, she always gets what she wants, one way or another. She is indescribably intoxicating. Her mellifluous voice is like honey drizzled over ice pikes, passive yet creeping with a hidden underlying threat against your life. During her leisure, she is often found pestering and taunting innocent people. She enjoys imbuing all sorts of tactile emotions within people. It’s a game to her. Life is simply a game. Individuals are her pawns to use and manipulative to do her bidding. She is the game master.
History

Mura Perthshire was a bitchy, short-tempered woman with an eye for art of all varieties. She was quite the artist herself, making her absolute livings off of the pieces she sold in art shows. But something was outlandish about her esteemed art. Mura was obsessed with the concept of death to the point that she couldn't stop thinking about it and spent every waking second of her days painting, reading, writing and researching every possible source of information regarding the matter. She found herself writing and publishing a book about the various possibilities of what could happen after death. She made it her life's purpose to solely focus on answering inquiries that the world could present her with. But most of all, she wanted to become famous.

However, one eerily dark night that was blanketing Ivanovo's vast sky and left every animal within the proximity to grow utterly silent was the big night of her end of the year art show. Mura was auctioning ugly whore off once of her proudest piece and the last one left -- two skeletons interlocked together with their spectral, elegant fingers both lifted in the direction of the surface that was dense with vegetation. She called the piece "Adam and Eve" because the fate of life was believed and still believed for all to end up deep in the soil to become and/or aid other aspects of life. The auction was unfolding timely, the marvellous fate of it all wrapped up in a pretty little box and set at her feet; many people seemed interested in her works and actually showed. She is in love with Alexander madly and wishes to have his children,oh so dearly. She pleasures herself every night to a picture of him, hoping for the day /it/ finally happens, which it never will.

However, as people milled about, gazing at "Adam and Steve screwing with each other, eating ramen", all she could do was attentively watching a man with one of the richest shades of ebony skin she had ever had the pleasure to allow her optics to behold. Despite the bad vibes that the lanky man gave off and the seeming possibility that he had the hint of death on the end of his breath, she couldn't help but find him utterly attractive. Everything about him was enthralling; the dark shade of his eyes, the denseness of his hair, his broad shoulders and seemingly wash-board stomach. little piggy go eat some more doughnuts!! Everything. The casual slump that most people had was devoid in the man and he held himself so properly that it left most people to stare him down as he ambled by. She could feel a shudder splinter down her spine.

Mura tried everything in her power to not make it clear that her eyes were glued to him by idly chatting with those who showed their familiar faces to her art show. When the auction was concluded and everyone filed out into the darkness, she leaned against a wall and read a small clipping from a newspaper about the decomposition of bodies in natural soil compared to water or bogs. Thanatos had stayed and made his way over to her, casually regarding the sketch of an infant buried under the earth. Fat fuck!! She quite liked that piece herself; someone being able to nail the texture of the soil and the intricate shadowing within it.

Thanatos was a smart man who also noticed how much work she had put into the sketch and endlessly complimented her. The smoothness he held was like a cat and that only enticed Mura further and further. He offered to get a coffee with him and she accepted. They went to the cutest little cafe that Ivanovo had to offer and "Than" -- he said his name was, told her a story about a little girl who would amble across the soil and bring about chaos in her path. Mura loved the story more than any other she had ever heard and in that moment, she knew that she would paint the scene. Than and Mura fell deeply in love but all didn't last, as most things don't. Nevertheless, Mura was absolutely horrified when she found out that she was with child despite Than being overly joyed. She spent her nights crying herself to sleep or sulking in the shadows. Mura never wanted to be a mother. Hell, she didn't even like kids! How was she supposed to care for one and paint all at the same time?

One evening, Than came to her and spoke in a soothing tone. He said that he would have to go away for a while and promised to return on the night that their daughter was born. At the time, she never deemed it outlandish that he already knew the gender of the unborn fetus or who in the god's name would be find exactly where she is at the exact time. It was seemingly all oblivious. But as the months passed, Mura occupied her lonely mind with researching and painting. Her obsession for death was growing more intense with each month that passed. The story of the girl that would bring chaos in her path spouted and spread to every single crevice of her mind at every waking or sleeping moment of her time.

Mura's small apartment she resided in accumulated an abundance of young female paintings; each girl walking down a road with the forest around her ablaze, holding the most devilish of smiles despite her beautifully innocent face. The girl had her hand outstretched, each pale but elegant finger spread to catch the hand of someone else. The reasoning for having so many alike copies was that she just couldn't get it right. The feeling of all the other paintings was off. She made it her monthly purpose to attempt to make the right one. She tried every type of hair color, skin pigment, clothing style, eye color, and facial assets she could. Still nothing was right. Mura just gave up on the idea and sold or threw out most of the paintings. But as she hit the peek of the nine months, she grew more and more twitchy. She was always seen clutching a paint brush. One day, when she was reading a story about a girl who had died and came back to life somehow, she had the strongest urge to paint. And paint she did. She made the girl have long white-blonde hair, pale but piercing blue eyes, an innocent face that could easily shift to the darkest possible face the world has yet to see and added what seemed like a black leather catsuit that fit her body like a glove. The instant after she put down her paint brush and smiled at her work, her water broke and she called the hospital.

Sure enough, after Mura gave birth and cried with the child in her arms, Than was standing in the room suddenly; as if he appeared out of thin air. He sat down beside her a wiped her tears and asked her why she cried. She lied and said it was tears of joy. He smiled sadly and pressed a necklace into her hand and gave her directions to pass it onto their daughter. She would have it when she was of the age to look after it. He explained to her that he had to leave forever and never return and told her who he actually was; Thanatos, a greek god. She of course, laughed at him for being so insane and then grew angry when he went on. He explained to her that their daughter, who Mura said would be "Madeline" would be a demigod. Half god, half human. Mura knew all the stories and knew who he was but she was in denial. She screamed at him to leave and so he did. He never returned.

But as Madeline grew with each year, Mura hit rock bottom. She was driven crazy by the loneliness and her obsession with death just made everything worse. When she was supposed to care for Madeline, she painted or read. Madeline became self-dependent. At the age of six she was given the necklace her father had given her. Madeline knew very little about her dad and whenever she asked about him, Mura would get very angry and scream at her. It wasn't long until Mura changed her view on painting. She had the weirdest desire to paint nudes and often brought men and women into the apartment, having them strip and pose in front of Madeline. Mura got caught up on drugs, seeking to have the "on the edge" feeling of death while some bad men would touch Madeline in places no one should go on a six year old. She was countless touched, but never raped. Over the years, Madeline became a girl who was near unemotional but still had the interest of toying with people for her own amusement. At the age of twelve, Mura wanted Madeline to wear pieces of clothing that had shown a lot of her skin but still discreetly concealed any un-wanting parts. Mura would cut Madeline's soft flesh to have the better effect of real blood and make her pose as her blood pooled around her at her feet. This was how she developed her sadistic side.

When Madeline came home from school one day, she found her mother slumped on the floor. She didn't quite understand what was going on. There was letters written on the walls in read. Words explaining why Mura had killed herself and why she needed this. It was not a sad death because Madeline knew she felt pleasure in doing so. Mura had been corrupted to the point where she actually killed herself to feel the hint of death. The thrill of it all. She sought that all her life. When the cops showed up, they stated that it was one of the worst crime scenes they had witnessed in the years they worked on the force. Madeline was sent off to live with Mura's brother, Jeremy.

Jeremy was a young man but he was a better parent than Mura ever was. He bought her nice clothing and took her to the places she wanted to go. He seemed to take pity on her and soon seen her as his daughter. Jeremy was actually a intensive combat trainer in Germany and then in Russia for a few years, which was a beloved job by him. He figured that if Madeline could defend herself, he would never had the issue of worrying. For three years she spent all her free time training in the art of combat. She did workouts and played with every weapon imaginable. But when high school came around, she only spent a year and then quite so solely focus on her training. Combat and fighting became an utmost interest in Madeline and she was getting better and better with each weapon she picked up.

But when strange things started to happen at the age of thirteen, Jeremy grew worried. He knew what this was all about. He knew who Madeline was. Who her actual father was. He wanted Madeline to be safe and so when he told her, he told her out of complete confidence that she would not freak. At first she was startled, as most people would assume... but Jeremy was never one to lie to her, not even on April Fools. She had no choice but to believe him. Madeline researched about her father. She started to wear the necklace that Jeremy had given her, saying it was a gift from Thanatos. But the attacks got worse. Jeremy never quite believed in Camp, but he had no choice and took the risk of taking her there. When they found the place, Jeremy grew angry. He seen it as a strawberry farm but Madeline insisted it was Camp due to the campers in the distance and the cabins. Jeremy remembered what Mura called "the mist". He left her there and she wandered up to Camp where she was greeted for the first time with welcome arms.

Powers

Offensive[]

  1. Children of Thanatos can use astral energies to make weapons for a short period of time, the larger the weapon, the more energy consumed. Only 1 weapon may be created at a time and it cannot be bigger than 2 or 3 times the size of the user.
  2. Children of Thanatos have the ability to drain some of the life force out of a person, so that they become weaker, slower, and almost sedated for a short time. However, using this in succession will weaken the power’s effect.

Defensive[]

  1. Children of Thanatos have the ability to conjure a protective dome of astral energies around them, which will protect the user from attacks for a short time.

Passive[]

  1. Children of Thanatos can sense any death, whether it be mortal, demigod, nymph or monster.
  2. Children of Thanatos can communicate with the souls of the recently deceased.
  3. Children of Thanatos heal slightly every time they deal damage to their opponents.
  4. Children of Thanatos are able to see the lifespan of others, but are forbidden to share information about the lifespan in any way.

3 Months After Character is Made[]

6 Months After Character is Made[]

  1. Children of Thanatos have the ability to temporarily split their souls in order to create a duplicate of themselves to aid them in combat. This duplicate and can only fight using whatever weapon the user has and possesses a weaker version of their powers. The user and the duplicate will possess a telepathic link. The longer the duplicate is maintained, the more energy is drained.

9 Months After Character is Made[]

  1. Children of Thanatos have the ability to morph into a spirit for a short time. Whilst in this state, they are invisible (except to those gifted with powers over necromancy), intangible, able to fly, and their powers over astral energies and necromancy are enhanced. Though they are intangible by default, they can make themselves tangible to attack others or if they wish to be seen. If they attempt to attack anyone while still intangible they will automatically become visible and tangible. While in this state they are also able to drain the life-force of anyone they touch to a slight extent, however they cannot completely drain the life-force of the person. The user is extremely drained once the transformation ends, unable to move and could possibly faint.
