Parents
Vina Chandler was a typical city girl who loved grocery and shopping and of course, the beach. For her, the best sunset and sunrise was in the beach. She wasn't so bad herself, nor her family, so she's all right. Vina had a close friend, Kean Walters, who was a famous model who loved dogs. He showed her his trickery and she thought it was cool.
One time, Kean got depressed after meeting a girl named Lydia who left her, not knowing that Lydia was really Lyssa. She lightened him up and made sure Kean was alright. On a time she went to the mall, she met a man—Palaemon in disguise as a man named Peter—who helped her in reaching some of the groceries. He helped along, which Vina was grateful for. In times, they had dates and walks. They also got together, then he told Vina who he was, what he was, and all the Greek stuff. Vina didn't care, since she loved him much. Palaemon knew she was going to have a child, so he told her about the place where their child should reside sooner. As a gift, Palaemon gave her a bracelet, made from the material of sharks' teeth and beads of Celestial bronze, which can be turned into a sword by will.
During those times, Kean had already fallen for Vina, not knowing about her affairs. When he knew about Vina getting pregnant, he raged. He started hurting her and swearing he'd kill the man whom Vina was with. Vina, getting the feeling that he was too much, fled to Washington from Montana. There, she had birth with Quentin, and raised him there.
Childhood
Quentin had a good childhood despite the absence of a father. He got honours in school and awards in contests. A lot wanted him as a friend, but he preferred none, just acquaintances. He never got into trouble, except for one time when he accidentally smudged a painting in a gallery when he was eight. Vina thought he was alright and did not expect an attack, but gave him the bracelet Palaemon gave her before.
Monster attacks
Quentin had his first attack on 13. He was by the shore then when a single telekhine appeared, making stupid sounds. He got up and got surprised. It advanced towards him, but his mind suddenly went blank. Then he remembered his mother muttering something about the bracelet as protection. He though it was crazy, but focused on the bracelet, thinking about how come it'd be protection. He was about to think it was some superstition when it wove its way around his hand and grows into a long Celestial bronze sword. The telekhine made stupid noises, and Quentin did what was obvious. He swung the blade, hitting its target in the chest and it burst into golden dust. The sword then melted to a bracelet, leaving him running like crazy.
He, after the telekhine incident, didn't tell anything to his mother, but kept quiet. He tried to keep it normal when the next year a month after his 14th birthday, two harpies attacked him. One got smashed by a truck, while the other he destroyed, him getting more cuts and bruises. His mom got suspicious, but he convinced her to put it off. Then a month before his 16th birthday, a hellhound attacked him in school. He got in cornered in the gate, but it was too strong. Then silver arrows rained down on it, turning it to golden dust. Quentin spotted girls in silver after, but they disappeared quickly. Now Vina got very suspicious, and decided it was time to let him go.
Meeting a friend and Camp Half-Blood
It was a day of silence for Quentin when he went to a public park one time. At least, he had time to think about the monsters. There, he suddenly bumped into someone, another boy, and he said sorry. He was looking at the other boy like he was alien when a dracaenae suddenly appeared form the trees. Quentin brought out his sword, and so did the other boy. No time to chitchat, they attacked the dracaenae, the other boy on lead. Slash and cut and dodge, they defeated it. And then they did chitchats. They introduced—the boy as Ahren—and Quentin said he didn't know all those things. Ahren explained, with Quentin still in doubt.
Ahren wanted to introduce him to some group he was a part with, but they were nowhere to be found. Ahren searched, but nothing. He got mad, and cursed. Quentin, still awkward with Ahren, then invited him to his house, hoping his mom would have an idea about all this. And exactly as they arrived home, Vina demanded to know whatever Quentin saw, also to introduce Ahren. Quentin told everything, including Ahren's explanation. Vina got scared ,and told him to pack bags. Quentin did not quarrel, however, Ahren didn't know what to do. Vina told him he should come along.
For a month, Quentin 16, they got everything they need, including an unexpected attack from two telekhines. They flew to New York, and Vina drove them to Camp Half-Blood, remembering everything Palaemon said to her. As soon as they arrived, Vina explained the place to them. Quentin didn't want to leave his mom, but Ahren forced him to, since he felt like the Camp would be a help.
Entering the Camp, Ahren told him about the group he was talking about earlier —Ekdikisi, which meant revenge— and its plans, which was to get revenge on Lyssa because of something she did to Apate. Quentin thought that maybe someone in the Camp would help, dealing that they would tell whoever's managing the Camp.
