Anton Alkaev was commonly referred to as a 'jack of all trades.' He loved the Western World's magical culture so much that he often said that he was a Westerner born in Russia. By the time he was 28, he'd collected enough money and an assortment of items to fuel his hobby and as soon as he could, he moved to York in England. There, his magic career lifted off and it eventually caught the attention of Hecate. Somewhere down the line, Anton had gotten so desperate for luck in magic, he began to secretly worship the goddess. Of course, when she met him in person she was both shocked and confused, but for the sake of it, let's just say he used his magic there and then. A month or so later, two baby girls were presented to him at his front door. Naming them Anya and Lara, Anton welcomed them with open arms and began to use his funds to care for his daughters.
Anton's life quickly became consumed by his daughters; he wanted them to have the best of best and even went so far to marrying a random woman that was nurturing to ensure that they had a stable mother figure growing up. Of course this woman was unaware of the actual purpose of her marriage and she herself was under the guise that the two were in love, giving birth to a third daughter who they named Faina.
The girls had a relatively stable childhood, they believed their father's wife was their mother and generally enjoyed all of the opportunities that they had been given. The same couldn't be said for Anton, however. Whilst his daughters were having a life away from the world of Greek mythology his worshipping of Hecate intensified until most of his day was dedicated to her. As a result his health began to decline as did his marriage, leaving him alone with Anya and Lara. Eventually his health had deteriorated so much that his daughters were placed into foster care whilst he was taken to and remained in hospital.
Of course, being taken from a life of such opportunities into one with some sort of social stigma had a negative effect on the twins, obviously. The two began to have outbursts of different emotions, mainly anger and sadness. For Anya, the emotion was anger and for Lara, the emotion was sadness. Unfortunately, these emotions would only progress further when not only were their monster attacks anticipated, but also the small visions of the future.
Both twins predicted their monster attacks in the form of dreams at different points. Whilst Lara saw a dog-like figure when she slept and often woke up because of it, Anya saw a man with an unusual bottom half that would always save her at the last moment in whatever scenario her dream had. At the time, both were 12 and only a few months after the dreams occurred they became a reality. The two had been walking home one day from school like normal, however there was the feeling they were being followed. It wasn't unusual; they'd been warned that week at school that there were scares of men following girls home and that they should all be weary. What they didn't expect, obviously, that it wasn't a man following them, but rather a thing. Inevitably they were shocked and weren't ready when the hellhound pounced on them, knocking both to the ground with ease. They would've perished with ease, hadn't it been for a satyr saving them, well, multiple satyrs. From that day on, the girls grew up in fear of monster attacks as they predicted them shortly before, getting saved each time by groups of satyrs or nymphs.
It was around 16 that the two began to have dreams revolving around their past. For Anya, she recalled times of when their father was angry, frustrated or aggressive. These ranged from when he was a child getting annoyed when he didn't get something he wanted to him in the hospital howling for his daughters. Needless to say these dreams scared Anya and many a night she'd wake up in cold sweat and have difficulties going back to sleep. Lara, on the other hand, dreamt of times when her father was sad, depressed and willing to end himself. Likewise to Anya's dreams, these ranged from times when he was a child and upset over things like a scraped knee to him sobbing at night in the hospital as he wished for them to return as a family. Nobody believed the girls when they spoke about the dreams, leading to the two confiding in each other whenever they occurred, slowly believing that maybe they were insane and that maybe their father wasn't the one who had to be taken away but rather they were.
Nearing their eighteenth birthdays, after another attack, the two were visited by a man in their dreams - Apollo. He explained to them why they experienced the dreams, telling them they had the potential to see into the future if they should so pursue it. In the morning there were extensive talks among the twins, seeing as they'd have to go to a camp he spoke of in America and leave their lives in England behind. It was a tough decision, extremely tough, but eventually the two decided to do so to get an answer to the dreams but also the attacks they got. Upon reaching Camp they discovered they were daughters of Hecate and assumed the roles of the Oracle of Delphi and the Apprentice Oracle of Delphi as they received the powers of the oracles.
(There's like no basis for Oracle histories ft I wanted to make her quickly so the event can progress!!)
