Forest/Jungle Arena

Forest Jungle Arena
  • This arena is essentially a tightly compacted jungle/forest, with tall cliffs along the edges of the arena
  • At various points in the forest/jungle there are some small waterfalls and ponds
  • The arena is open to the sky and elements, however due to the tightly compacted nature of the jungle/forest, there are areas where the sky cannot be seen, along with lots of shadows and places to hide
  • At the centre of the arena (jungle/forest), there is a medium sized temple, it is the darkest at this point and there are pyres, full of fire and wood, at the entrance to the temple. The fire that burns within the pyres can not be extinguished, but if the fire is removed from the pyres, it can then be put out.
  • Inside the temple are various Greek statues, roughly 6 feet tall
  • There are numerous and various species of wildlife hidden amongst the forest/jungle, but none larger than a grizzly bear

 – No matter how much you say about the ocean, there is always something you can't.

Chris leans against a thick tree, a small smile flickering on his face. He wears a verdant cloak with light leather underneath. The fingers of one hand drum against the mossy trunk, the other flips his light, curved blade in a slow circles. His dark eyes scan the arena. This is the showdown he's been waiting for.

Spending the 3-day resttime in the jungle arena, this son of Poseidon was indeed confident. He entered the area only slightly earlier than expected time. Kiel had found the same Mustang (horse) and used the fella' to tour around the arena one last round. For today, the counsellor wore a leather breastplate over an attire of all black (shirt, bottom, combat boots). His swords were still in their original form of earrings. Minor weapons and a small sealed bag of ambrosia were concealed under his attire. Upon spotting Chris through the semi-dark forest, the horse galloped and halted in front of half-blood. "The challenger always initiates, so I shall give you 2 minutes to run and hide," he decreed. To add, Zaphkiel had always thought of himself highly, and the horse merely accentuated his kingly self.

Character's Powers

 Powers of Son of Poseidon (No 3/6/9 month powers):

Offensive

  1. Children of Poseidon can fire a powerful blast of water from their hands, equivalent to that of a fire hose, which evaporates after a short time.
  2. Children of Poseidon have the ability to conjure and freeze small amounts of water into durable ice weapons, which can be used for combat; however, only one weapon can be conjured at a time and it cannot be bigger than the one who conjured it. They can also make small non-combative objects out of ice.

Defensive

  1. Children of Poseidon can create an area around themselves that inflicts others with intense seasickness, making them dizzy and nauseous for as long as they remain inside. The user must keep their focus on maintaining the effect for the duration.
  2. Children of Poseidon can turn their body to water for a very short time, letting an attack pass harmlessly through them. This can cause extreme dehydration with repeated use.

Passive

  1. Children of Poseidon can breathe, are swifter and more powerful, and can heal slightly faster while underwater.
  2. Children of Poseidon can keep themselves and everything they touch dry in the water, unless they choose to become wet.
  3. Children of Poseidon can survive falling from any altitude as long as they land in water, and can go as deep into the ocean as they desire without any effects from the cold or water pressure.
  4. Children of Poseidon can communicate with and command equestrian animals, as well as all creatures that dwell in the sea.
  5. Children of Poseidon are innately less inhibited by severe wind and precipitation.

Supplementary

  1. Children of Poseidon have the ability to create minor earthquakes, large enough to knock anyone nearby off their feet, for a few seconds.
  2. Children of Poseidon are able to telekinetically move water at a high rate. The larger amount of water used, the more energy it drains. This can be used on ice, but is much more difficult and draining.
  3. Children of Poseidon are are able summon a specific horse, pegasus, or sea creature directly to their position, regardless of distance. This only works on creatures that they have a strong personal bond with.
  4. Children of Poseidon can calm, strengthen or influence the direction of the winds, though to a much lesser extent than children of Zeus or the anemoi.

3 Months After Character is Made

  1. Children of Poseidon have the ability to create a torrential rainstorm overhead, which will downpour and cause high winds over a large area. The storm will gradually clear over time, and afterward the user would be substantially drained.

6 Months After Character is Made

  1. Children of Poseidon are able to shape a semi-living construct out of water, no larger than 3 to 4 times the size of the user, that fights for them for a short time. The user is weakened while the construct is active, and the longer they maintain the it, the more energy it drains.

9 Months After Character is Made

  1. Children of Poseidon are able to transform their bodies into a state of pure water for a short time, becoming immune to most attacks. The hydrokinetic abilities they already possess are enhanced by this state, and they are capable of covering great distances in an instant while underwater. The user will be extremely drained once the transformation ends, and could possibly faint.

Traits

  1. Children of Poseidon always know their exact coordinates when in water and are able to innately feel the difference between freshwater and saltwater.
  2. Children of Poseidon normally have a love for water, and generally excel at water sports.
  3. Children of Poseidon tend to be favored by animals of the sea.
  4. Children of Poseidon often have a natural affinity for horses and many grow up to become equestrians.

Fight

  1. Chris "I have more self-respect than to run from a challenge. However, you may soon wish to." Silently, Chris sends a telekinetic message for Zaphkiel's steed to suddenly rear up on its hind legs. The Poseidon counselor may have control over the mustang, but hopefully this will be enough to at least confuse and stall the animal. He then darts to his opponent's left side, both hands on the hilt of his shimmering blade. With a snarl he attempts to drive the weapon into his opponent's leg.
  2. Kiel: If it weren't obvious enough, the steed's loyalty was solely focused on the counsellor, who practically gave the creature incentives (carrots). However, the sight of Chris' blade frightened the mare enough for it to gallop chaotically. While the duo avoided the hit perfectly, the wild beast caused Kiel to fall from his little throne. Upon hitting the ground with his behind, the physically calm Kiel flared, and the earth shook violently for a moment. "That wasn't creative at all," he remarked honestly. The earthquake aimed to topple Chris' balance before the challenger's next attack. Regardless of the outcome, the outraged Mustang, who received a telepathic command, galloped towards Chris with the intent of trampling him. Meanwhile, the counsellor decided to take Chris' suggestion and fled towards the deeper parts of the forest, specifically towards the temple near the large waterfalls. Howbeit, meters before entering the building surrounded by trees, Kiel hid behind a rather large tree and readied 2 throwing knives.
  3. Chris The quake shakes the already off-balance Chris, which sends him to the ground in an unceremonious heap. His neck tingling in expectation of a blade about to fall on exposed skin, he spins to a single knee, blade ready, just as the mustang gallops his way. He leaps to the right, the beast narrowly misses him, and scrambles to his feet. With his mind he sends a wave of terror through the horse, which causes it to sprint away, whinnying wildly. Chris then takes a moment to gather his wits and transforms his blade back into a bracelet. He then wraps his fingers around his necklace, which becomes a bow and quiver full of arrows. He nocks one of these arrows and then proceeds into the dense jungle after his opponent. Soon he comes upon a large, crumbling temple, nestled between two small waterfalls. The sound of rushing water gives him comfort, and he allows for a small smile. He takes three deep breaths, readies his weapon, and creeps towards the temple's entrance, ready to fire it at first provocation.
  4. Kiel: Unknowst to that son of Poseidon, Kiel was still outside. After slapping a bug on his arm, the counsellor had an epiphany. Figuring Chris must be a typical human being, the counselor smirked cynically. His territorial instinct made him guiltless. While waiting for Chris, Kiel controlled puddles of water to slide down tree barks and trail across a nearby ant hill. Lo and behold, upon the sight of his half-brother, Kiel fired a red ant infested hydro cannon towards Chris's upper body. Since the two were only 12-15 meters apart, the harsh force will be harder to evade. Ignoring the outcome, he then went out from hiding, aimed for Chris's thighs with the two throwing knives, and transformed his earrings into swords. Sadly, this son of Poseidon did not immediately notice Chris' weapon change, which could further risk his defense for offense.
  5. Chris Chris sees Zaphkiel in the final instant before the blast of water with the biting insects is fired. He manages to snap off a shot directly at his opponent before the water hits him square in the chest. He is sent tumbling backwards, and nearly loses his grip on the bow. Before any of the ants can bite him he uses his own control of water to flick the ant-infested liquid back in his enemy's direction, which halts the momentum of his two throwing knives and leaves them lying on the ground in a puddle. Chris rises to one knee and fires another arrow in Kiel's direction, then, hardening the liquid from the puddle around the deflected throwing knives' hilts. he telekinetically directs the water to send the blades hurtling back at their previous owner.
  6. Kiel: At the sight of an arrow, Kiel abruptly moved to the left. The first arrow gazes the counselor on the left arm, 'causing him to slightly back up and wince in pain. He's more manly than I thought, Kiel mentally noted, impressed at how calm Chris handled the bug infested situation. By such time, the counselor had already recovered his balance. He was alerted by Chris regaining his weapon; thus, he set up precautions. Luckily, his three bigger spheres of muddy liquid swiftly rose from the ground, swallowed the two daggers and single arrowhead, halted their momentum, and sent themselves flying back at Chris. Each blob aimed for the half-blood's torso, arm, and heel respectively. Meanwhile, this son of Poseidon positioned his swords defensively, or so it seemed. Using the puddle behind Chris, a telekinetically controlled arm of water tries to sneakily snatch the quiver of arrows. At the worst case, KIel believed the hand will be a distraction to give him an opportunity to attack.
  7. Chris Chris sets his own mind against the incoming water-spheres and their deadly cargo. He manages to cause two of them to collide with nearby trees, but the final knife pierces his leather bracer and embeds itself in his left forearm. He grits his teeth as he yanks the weapon free of his flesh, a pained groaned escaping his lips. Even with his elevated pain tolerance, this injury burns, he'll need to heal it soon or blood-loss will make him dizzy. Chris watches as Kiel drops into defensive position, but before he can react the quiver is torn from Chris' back and the arrows inside crunched into pieces. Rage, laced with adrenaline sears through his veins. His eyes narrow as he lets his bow drop to the ground and re-summons his sword from the bracelet. He points the blade at Zaphkiel. You wish to play games, boy? Fine! Let us play games. He gestures his hand and the earth beneath his opponent rumbles and quakes. This will hopefully throw him off balance, but there is a more important reason involved. The tree next to Kiel is shaken in the quake, and a shower of tiny drops of old rain, dew, and collected humidity fall from its now-quivering branches. Hands outstretched, Chris contracts his fingers together as if he were squeezing an orange. Suddenly all the drops of water change course and accelerate towards the Poseidon Counselor. In flight small, jagged points form at their tips. They are like a hundred tiny shards of glass, all hurtling at Zaphkiel. Chris takes two quick breaths to fight off fatigue, and then charges, ready to put his blade through whatever is left of his foe.
  8. Kiel: If there was another obvious talent Kiel had, it was manipulation. An enraged man's heightened possibility for aggressive but flawful attacks made this son of Poseidon grin wickedly. Once the earth shook, Kiel had a hunch his own previous tactic would be immitated. Right he was. Although he landed on the ground with his behind again, the counselor immediately densified the water pressure in his body, hardening his muscles and skin to the point where he became immune to physical attacks (water bullets) for a short time. Nonetheless, those bullets were still made of water, which the both brothers had command on. The droplets, that rendered ticklish instead, slid down Kiel's body. This son of Poseidon then swiftly flung his arms open, and the water divided into two sections (left and right). After a seemingly hugging action, the liquid pressurized and became akin to two long blades. One "blade" aimed for his torso, while another tried slashing Chris's legs; however, both aimed to damage the armor/clothes instead of the person. Unlike the opposite party's moves, these blades were the distraction, not the main show. What Kiel aimed to get across was himself. For quick healing purposes, the counselor, who wanted to save his ambrosia for a latter time, ran and jumped into the right fountain's water. Soon enough, the now-more-defensive lad would enter the temple later.
