|
PLEASE READ
If you are challenging, please remember, your character must be at least 1 month old (from the date the page was made), and if the character/user you're challenging has led a quest, then you will also need to have led a quest, you also must be at least a level 4 user....
One more reminder is that the one who got challenged is the one who has the priviledge to choose the arena, not the challenger. I hope this is clear.

Summary of Rules/Guidelines
|
General Rules:
- A User is required to have a user level of 4 or higher to challenge for a counselor position.
- The user challenging is responsible for leaving a notice, both on the character page of the current counsellor, and the cabin page, that they are challenging, and what position they are challenging for, as well as messaging the user OOC on their talk page. (So in three places). Leaving a message on the cabin page is an in character way of announcing to the entire cabin that the character intends to challenge. The message on the character page is an in character way of personally telling the character that they are challenging. This is because this is a roleplay wiki, not a "do everything out of character" wiki. The message on the user's talk page is to make sure the user has ample opportunity to respond. Not everyone follows their character pages or the cabin pages, but everyone gets notices when someone leaves a message on their talk page. If you've given the user notice in chat or somewhere else, as long as the other user can vouch that you did get in touch with them, it is OK to skip the talk page, but only if the other user vouches for you.
- Once the challenger has left a notice, they need to make a forum for the challenge. This enables the Activities Department to better keep track of active official challenges.
- If the current counsellor does not respond within a week to the challenge, the fight is considered no contest as the challenge was never acknowledge or accepted, and the user automatically surrenders their position to the challenger. The challenger must be able to show proof, that a notice was left in all of the appropriate places.
- Godmodding or metagaming can automatically disqualify a character, if done to an excessive degree, otherwise 1 or 2 minor instances of it will just get points taken off from fairness.
- If one of the contestants does not reply within 7 days after the other user posts, they forfeit the challenge automatically. Exceptions are given for users with Away Notices, but only if they give notice so that the challenge can be dealt with and put on hold.
Fight Rules:
- Fights will be conducted in the same way as training fights, meaning the combatants will take turns posting their actions and reactions to each others attacks
- The winner will be decided by two judges. These judges will be assigned, once the challenge is ready to be judged.
- You will be judged not only by the outcome of the fight, but by roleplay quality, attitude, realism, and other factors
- Fights will proceed thusly: The challenger will post first. They have one post to describe themselves, talk about their battle preparations, brag, or what have you. The counsellor will then have one post to do the same. Then, battle will commence.
- Battles will last ten rounds. This is ten posts from each character, excluding the general discussion posts (which should be done with word bubbles) and OOC posts.
- After the allotted ten rounds, each char will have one post to "end the fight" with. Whether this be ended by some kind of bell, or by the fight ending, or something else, is up to them.
- Users must put their character's name next to the action. Like this Tsumi
- When the fight is over, please move the page to the 'ready to be judged' category, so that it can be dealt with quickly.
Immunity:
- A user cannot be challenged for a position within a month of getting it. If someone got the position by default, because someone left the wiki or got rid of their character, it doesn't count.
- Likewise, if an incumbent is challenged and they are victorious in defending their title, that counsellor will be immune to all challenges for one month.
Quests Led/Not Led:
- In the case of the Head Counsellor or Lieutenant Counsellor having led no quests, no led quests are required to challenge.
- In the case of a Head or Lieutenant Counsellor having led one or more quests, the challenger is required to have led at least one successful quest. You only need one quest though.

Challenging an Outcome
|
If you feel after a challenge is completed that one or both of the judges were either biased in their scores or generally unfair in their judgement, you may challenge the outcome. At which point 3 unbiased (unbiased in that they were neither the original judge or involved in the challenge itself) to look over the challenge and either vote fair or unfair. If the consensus from the 3 is that the challenge was fair, it will stand as is. If the consensus is the challenge was voted unfairly, it will be re-scored. The outcome is not guaranteed to call a new winner, but the person who lost may lose by less and have a better idea of what area they need to work on for next time they try a challenge.

Scoring
|
- Grammar/Spelling - 5 points
- Posts should use proper grammar and spelling, within reason.
- How well the character defends themselves
- How well the character attacks
- How fair the characters are as far as taking hits, as well as whether or not they use any godmodding or metagaming.
- This is the overall balance between offensive and defensive moves, as well as between regular weapons versus their powers. Balance could also be accounted for if say a user spends more of their posts describing the scenery and not enough time actually attacking or defending.
- This is for how overall prepared the characters seem and whether or not they are considering the best defensive and offensive moves available to them.
- This is how creative the users are with their moves as well as how creative and descriptive they are with their posts.
- Effective Char Use - 20 points
- This is for whether the character is using all means available to them, not just weapons, but terrain and their powers and even their own personal abilities.
- Judge's Discretion - 5 points
- This is for how the judges feel the user did overall, this should not be used for any personal bias or feelings.

Available Arenas If you would like to use one of these arenas, just add the template to the challenge page.
|
Air
|
{{Air Arena Any}}
- The objects in the arena have been charmed to almost defy gravity, floating around, boulders, rocks, etc.
- At the base level of this arena is just normal ground with vegetation/shrubs/grass and trees, as well as varying size terrain, ranging from a few feet tall, to much taller
- Floating high above in the air is small islands, some with greenery and vines hanging down towards the ground, ranging in size and height from the ground, so that even if a person didn't have the power of flight, if they are an adept climber, everything is spaced out enough they could climb as high as possible, as well as utilise some of the smaller floating debris to aid in their climb. Some of the floating islands even have small waterfalls
- Between the floating islands and the tall peeks and trees, there are plenty of shadows and places to hide
- On two sides of the arena there are 2 automaton birds stationed, currently in "off" mode, they are roughly 6 feet tall.
- The arena is open to the sky and elements
- On each end of the arena, on top of some large pillars, are pyres, full of fire and wood. The fire that burns within the pyres can not be extinguished, but if the fire is removed from the pyres, it can then be put out.
|
