Urban Arena

Urban arena
  • This arena is essentially a small abandoned city, overgrown with vegetation and some of the buildings crumbling in decay.
  • Located in the middle of the arena is a small abandoned park, with a pond
  • This arena has all the typical things you'd find in an abandoned overgrown city, everything from flat surfaces to small buildings to tall skyscrapers, some crumbling, some still standing, lots of dark places to hide, including an underground subway tunnel. There are abandoned cars, and things can still be found within the buildings, perhaps even a few stray cats or dogs, or some smaller creatures such as rats and spiders.
  • The arena is open to the sky and elements
  • This arena also possesses a more rural arena, possessing large mansions, estates and houses.

Sylvia: The daughter of Eros had absolutely no emotion on her face as she entered the Urban arena. She was pretty sure that she was going to lose, but was going to try and win anyways. "Trying couldn't hurt" she thought this as she trudged on threw the arena. She had on a peach sweater, dark blue jeans, and her hair was up in a pony tail, as she didn't know if Skylar would try and pull her hair. She had her usual weapons, which are a a CB dagger, bow & arrows, and a set of dual swords. The CB dagger was set in a sheath attached at her left side, a quiver of arrows on her back which were set in what looked like a backpack, a bow slung arcoss her shoulder, and her swords set on her right hip. As she walked she noticed that the town was a little too well kept for it to just be abandoned, and she wondered if magic was involved. She shook her head and continued to walk. As she walked she came upon what looked like a mansion, and decided that this was probably a good place to put up a defense. She climbed the steps and walked right into the white building. When Sylvia walked into the mansion it opened up into a rather large foyer with crystalized light fixtures, a blood red carpet, a set of stairs that branched off in two directions, and two doors; one on the right, and the other on the left. She decided to go up to the second floor; she took the set leading to the right. She walked up the stairs, which were rather creaky and old. She finally reached the top, and set her bow down on the ground, leaving the rest of the weapons on her body. She pulled the quiver of arrows off her back and unzipped one of the compartments. Within the compartment was a small green vial, which contained a healing potion that Aya, head of Hecate, had given her. She moved the potion over and pulled out a rope about 1 foot long. She tied it, very tightly, to one side of the door and to the other. Creating a sort of trip wire, minus the actuall wire. She started working on her defenses as she waited for the fight to begin.

Skylar: There are three types of people in this world, people who give a shit, people who pretend to not give a shit and Skylar. To say he wasn't nervous about the fact he might lose his position was an understatement. The guy was expecting it. He didn't seem to be wearing any armour and his sword swung back and forth as he walked indicating his loose holster. But he didn't care. Even if he did lose his title he would forever be known as the best counsellor of Eros' Cabin, no, of the entire camp ever and that was good enough for him. Though he still was going to fight. Fight using the adrenaline of the famous words every Canadian has probably said in their live, "Might as well try, eh?". The first thing that caught Skylar's attention was how new the town looked which pissed him off as well as disappointed him. He was looking forward to falling through ceilings and perhaps maybe the occasional still functional car to try and take for a joyride but alas the town was new and empty. Simply looking like it was built for humans then never used. Right in front of him stood a mansion which frankly Skylar couldn't be bothered entering. Fifteen steps? Psshhh, you'd have better chances asking a paraplegic to walk two steps. Deciding indulge himself and not have to walk that far he decides to walk the opposite direction into a corner shop. He took a few steps inside and groaned into himself, No off-licence? he thought to himself, They planned this didn't they? He took a quick look around trying to find at least something of use before he even attempts to try and find Sy...What's her name? He again thought to himself, his hands messing up the used to be immaculate candy display, Syla? Syll? He sighed greatly, moving away from the candy shelf and towards the frozen aisle which was conveniently still running, one one of the shelves was a bottle of chocolate milk, feeling thirsty Skylar took it and began to drink, all but giving up hope of finding anything else of use.

Sylvia: Sylvia finished setting up a defense, as she looked out the window and noticed a figure moving in the opposite direction. believeing it to be human she went back to the entrance and untied the rope. "I should of known he wouldn't come in here." She said this as she stuffed the rope back into her backpack/quiver, and then moved to pick up the bow she had placed on the floor. She raced out of the mansion as fast she could, and ran in the direction she had seen, or so she thought, Skylar head towards. She slowed her pace a bit as she approached a building. The building was a 50s style diner, and next to it was a corner store. She thought for a moment, and weighed which one her sibling would mostly likely go into. She decided that the diner might be a good place to start.  Before going in she pulled out her dagger and held it out as if she were about to attack, or be attacked, at any momrent, She walked into the diner very slowly, being a little hesitant, as to not alert anyone within the building. The interior looked brand new, as if they had just finished building it. A set of 6 blue leather & chrome booths on the right, and another set of 6 on the left. A set of 12 blue vintage stools were lined up in front of a blue chrome bar. "The 50s and their chrome" She said this as she ducked behind the counter, and headed into the kitchen. She didn't seem to hear any noise coming from that directions, so she decided to head back out of the building, and attempt to search the corner store.

Skylar: "Who the f*ck drinks Soy milk willingly?" Skylar muttered to himself as he gazed at the two different brands on the shelf, shaking his head in disapproval. "I mean if you have an allergy yes but....really?" He sighed and strolled over to the cash register pinging it open and realizing there was no money left in it, a groan escaped him as he turned around and entered the staff area. The chairs looking like they came from the 70's and the paint beginning to peel off the wall. It was almost pitch black though with the only source of light in the room coming from the singular light bulb hanging in the middle of the ceiling and even then it only covered the expanse of the main sitting area, leaving the corridors unilluminated apart from the small little kitchen down one of the corridors. Skylar's eyes had lit up as he made his way down the corridor into the kitchen. He noticed there was a fresh loaf of bread and a tin of tuna left out on the counter. He shrugged and walked over to what he presumed to be bait, alas no one came out to disembowel him so he took probably the biggest knife in the drawer, because apparently health and safety wasn't a thing in the town and began making himself a sandwich, remembering to cut the crusts off to put in his pocket for his cat.

Sylvia: Sylvia walked into the corner store, knife still out; Ready to attack at any time. She walked down the aisles rather slowly, in case Skylar decided to attack. She walked over to the dairy aisle, and noticed an opened milk container just sitting there. She shook her head, and now she was sure that Skylar was here, or atleast he had been here. Sylvia walked slower as she neared the staff area, within the staff area looked like something out of a bad movie from the 70's. Paint peeling off the walls, and the chairs looked as if someone had taken a knife and sliced them open out of frustration. A single slice of light caught her attention. Underneath the light was Skylar, the guy she was supposed to fight. She remembered meeting him a long time ago, but their conversation had been brief. In other words, she really didn't know him. She shuffled behind one of the chairs, placing her knife in its sheath, she then pulled her bow off her back, and a single arrow out of the quiver like backpack, and then notched a single arrow. She breathe a sigh before standing up and speaking. "Hello Skylar." She said this standing behind the chair, holding her bow up, aiming at Skylar, ready to fire at any moment.

Skylar: As he finished the sandwich and began to take his first bite, knife still in hand, he heard the voice of Sylvia behind him and he could only guess she was aiming an arrow at his back, or something he didn't care it was aimed somewhere at least. He ripped the piece of the sandwich off and began to chew, the sound somewhat daunting. "Okay yeah, that's right, the butter's probably gone off." He set the sandwich down and turned towards Sylvia, winking as if was prepared for what she was about to do. He then attempts to manipulate he thoughts into thinking of the thing or person she loves most before advancing towards her, knife in hand.

Fight[]

Sylvia: Sylvia Knew what Skylar was trying to do, and then she pulled her knife out, and dropped her bow to the ground. To bad she didn't have anyone she loved, or it might of worked. She laughed dryly before going into a defensive stance, pointing the dagger out towards Skylar. "It would of worked, if I had something I loved. To bad, that I don't" she said this as she changed to an offensive stance, and then a flood of memories pulled up into her mind. She had forgotten, she had loved something before; a puppy she'd received a few years back. She shook her head, attempting to gain her holding back. It took a few seconds, but when she came to she realized she was now kneeling on the ground, as if she had been crying. She held her dagger, gripping it tightly as she waited for Skylar to attack, as to counter him.'"

Skylar: He stopped advancing quickly after Sylvia fell to the floor, slowly beginning to back away and hook the knife to his belt before quickly grabbing ahold of the hilt of his sword. Skylar didn't want to hurt Sylvia. Especially after what she'd just said, how sad it must have been to not automatically think of something you love. Skylar could've thought of several things right off the bat. Because of this he quickly tried to leave the kitchen, taking cautious looks towards Sylvia to make sure she doesn't attack him but also hopeful glances at a way to prevent her from follow him. He noticed a hook beside the door back into the shop. On which hung a set of keys which Skylar assumed were meant to lock the staff room door, although he wasn't one hundred percent sure that they were. As he took another glance to make sure Sylvia wasn't charging at him like an enraged bull at a rodeo, he attempted to run towards the hook, reaching for the keys with one hand whilst his other gripped his sword.

Sylvia: She turned her head slightly when she heard Skylars feet shuffle past her. Had she heard that right? She watched for a moment as he left the staff room, and then she stood up, and a thought occurred to her. Where they just going to play a game of cat & mouse? Or where they going to actually fight? She thought this as she slowly stood up, and walked over to the exit, but instead of leaving she picked up her bow, and notched an arrow. She exited the staff room, and into the kitchen. She was only walking slowly as to attempt to make no noise. She inched further into the kitchen until she saw Skylar running towards the hook. She took aim at skylars right arm, and fired of an arrow, at his right forearm. She notched another arrow as a quickly as she had fired off the first. "Trying to get away?" She said this firing off the next arrow, aiming at the boys back.

Skylar: He quickly lowered his right arm, that was reaching for the key as he heard her footsteps behind him, predicting she would aim for it first since it seemed to be the easiest target. "I mean, why should I waste the time?" He unsheathed his sword since his left hand was hovering over it anyway before he quickly glanced behind him, noticing her aiming at his back, "I dare you."

Sylvia: Sylvia looked to where she was aiming and decided that wasn't the best course of action. Why paralyze Skylar? There was no fun in that. She thought this, lowering her aim to the boys right leg, not actually firing. "Nope, that would be unfair to paralyze someone when we haven't even gotten to fight yet. " She said this innocently, as she unsheathed her dagger again, placing her bow back on her shoulders, and the arrow back in the quiver. "Are we even going to fight?" She said this not even attempting to charge him, because she didn't wanna make a bad move. Obviously Skylar was a far better fighter then she was, after all he'd been at camp longer then she. Sylvia looked around the area they were in, quickly scanning it in an attempt to calculate the possible outcome if they were fight in such a close vicinity.

Skylar: He twisted around automatically to face her, his body shifting into a defensive position. "I just don't want to hurt you," he muttered, adjusting his stance, eyes flickering around the room looking for a possible escape route if he did manage to find an escape route. "But if you really want to fight, I guess I have no choice but to insist." He took a step to his left, trying to make room behind him so that if he did have to back off to dodge an attack there would be room for him to do so.

Sylvia: The daughter or Eros wasn't dumb enough to attack first, but then again if she didn't attack first she could end up giving Skylar the upper hand. Fighting was a type of art that could turn at any moment and she knew this, because she had study those words since she began staying at camp. She shifted slightly to the right just incase she too had to side step an attack. "You don't wanna hurt me, but you're here in a f*cking arena?" She said this as she lost focus for a second, before taking up an offensive yet defensive stance that left her left side unprotected, which wasn't the brightest thing too do, but it was the type of stance that gave you speed instead of defens. She charged at Skylar at a moderate pace, incase she was sent behind him, because she didn't wanna hit the wall, why woukd she want that? When she was a few paces away from the boy she slashed a tiny arch at the boys left arm.

Skylar: Despite him usually being quite agile he didn't have enough time to dodge Sylvia's attack. After the blade sliced the tiny arch in his arm he stepped back, using his free right hand to cover the wound. It wasn't bleeding too bad, the blade hadn't done much but break the skin, shrugging the wound off since he was used to going through various types of pain, emotional and physical. He slowly starts to conjure an emotional construct of a bird in order to send it towards her and start trying to peck at her feet, hopefully rendering her immobile.
