December of 1714, (exactly 300 years ago) Notus had a beautiful daughter named Genevieve Lockser. Her mother, Celina Lockser, met Notus the usual way mortals meet up with gods. Notus was just disguised as “Jackson”. They saw each other, instantly liked each other and went out. Etc... The day they decided to push their relationship further was the day Celina had their child, Genevieve. The next day, Notus left since he knew he couldn't be near the baby. Notus eventually sent Celina a letter along (explaining who he was and that their child is a demigod) with a cloud necklace that morphs into a celestial bronze sword that is to be given to Genevieve when she’s old enough to use it. Celina was heartbroken but she still moved on and eventually gotten over Notus when she was raising Genevieve.
Genevieve was one who loved the rain and loved it even more when it was pouring rain outside. She did whatever she wanted, when she wanted. Celina had no complaints about her daughter and let her be who she wanted to be. The two were very close to each other. Genevieve had a great childhood because of this but was homeschooled and was taught by her own mother. She was also thought as an exceptionally beautiful daughter of Notus and actually, at the time, possibly his most beautiful daughter. Genevieve was given the necklace when she was 12 years old.
When she turned 13, she had her first monster attack with a harpy. She was walking back home by herself. She didn't know what to do and instantly freaked out. Her father’s voice came in her head and told her to calm down and morph her necklace into her celestial bronze sword. She did that and instantly started swinging wildly at the harpy, hoping to land some hits on it. After sometime, she disintegrated the monster and rushed back to her house. By the time she got home, her whole face was pale and her mother told her she looked like she’d seen a ghost. Genevieve told Celina that she was almost killed by a bird like monster and Celina knew it was time to tell her the truth about who her father is and what she is.
Genevieve didn't get mad and understood that she hid the truth from her because she wanted to protect her.
The next two years were the same, except for the fact that she had to disintegrate a hellhound at age 14 and another harpy at age 15.
By the time she was 16, Celina was considering to let her go into camp half blood to learn how to protect herself and so she can be in a better environment. Genevieve was on a plane that was going to Long Island but something went wrong with the propeller and it got blown up. It crashed into the ocean and she drowned since she didn’t know how to swim.
Because she was always thought of as an exceptionally beautiful daughter, Notus (who was mourning over her) turned her into a rain nymph. She was brought to his palace to stay with him and he let her keep in touch with her mother via iris messages.
As the years went by, her mother eventually passed away. Genevieve as was courted by many other gods at that time. A few were actually into her but she wasn’t a “fawn over gods” type of girl. Poseidon then starts pursing her as well and she keeps turning him down. But after 6 years, she finally agrees to date him and actually starts to fall in love with him. He then started taking her to Amphitrite’s place, because rumor has it that Amphitrite started out as a nymph as well. They didn’t do much there but enough to make Amphitrite very upset. She couldn’t take it anymore and asked Hecate to mix a powerful potion to make Poseidon forget that he was in love with Genevieve. She succeeded and Poseidon eventually forgot about his love for her. For years, Genevieve cried and cried. She cried all the time and she was very desperate to do something about it because she couldn't believe that Poseidon stopped loving her and was cold to her. So she travels to Circe’s island, knowing that Circe didn’t really have anything against women and begs Circe to help her win back Poseidon. But, Circe is a vindictive, mean, sociopath. She sees Genevieve’s constant sadness and crying just over a man like Poseidon as pathetic. Circe then tries to convince Genevieve that Poseidon isn't worth the trouble and told her “Serve me here for 22 years and I’ll give you a potion to bring back Poseidon’s memories of you”. Genevieve agrees and serves her for exactly 22 years. During that time, Circe figured out that she’d have to make Genevieve realize what men are and that they deserve nothing more than to be pigs. But as soon as those years were up, she immediately wanted the potion and was still in love with Poseidon. Out of frustration and anger, Circe takes back the deal and curses the girl so that every time she cries, it’ll rain and the harder she cries, the harder it’ll rain.
After that farce was over, Genevieve went back to doing what she has done before in Notus’ place but Notus knew his daughter was sad and upset about Poseidon not loving her any more. So he decided to send her down to camp, hoping it’ll make her put those feelings in the past and move forward.
